Much of the excitement of the event was lost on the silver burmilla guardian. While the senshi and negaverse agents clashed over the energy gathering crystals, Ash had found her attention entirely captured by a youma attracted by the beacon of energy.
With the darkness closing in around her, she had crept about the outskirts, slinking through the shadows. There was only so much a guardian could do when the bigger powers clashed, but there was always the hope that an opportunity would arise in which a small, enterprising being could add that little bit of extra difference to tip the balance the right way. Sadly, such was not to be Ash's fate tonight... the cat had very nearly jumped out of her fur when a huge hulking shape had crashed against the dumpster she had been using for cover. The growl the thing had let out as it caught her scent had left no room to wonder just what had found her. No human made that sound... and it was just her luck that the beast had decided a small guardian within reach was more tempting than the hard to reach crystals with their delicious energy. She got a look at something vaguely human shaped with long, sticky looking hair and a mouth full of very large teeth and she was unsure if she was grateful the darkness obscured most of the horrid details, or if it only made things worse.
Sheer terror crashed through her as the twisted, bi-pedal shape reached for her with a clawed hand and Ash let out a yowl as she broke from cover, making for the open street in a streak of grey fur. Open space, of course, provided less cover, but the freedom to use her speed to her advantage had been the deciding point. If she could put some space between them, maybe she could use her smaller size to find pathways the monster could not follow her through. The youma took after with a roar of hunger, chasing her right across the street into the alley on the other side.
The fight behind her was forgotten for a good long time as the guardian cat struggled to lose her pursuer, weaving through allies and under garbage into spaces just give enough for a panicked cat.

There hadn't seemed like much more he could add and so Falias had turned away from civilian (Fiona) intending to head back to the fray, half thinking that he could try and see if he could spot Canopus and that blue-haired senshi (Astarte) that she had teamed with. After all the Nega-officers were still busy with the crystals that they appeared to be guarding so jealously and despite still having no idea what they planned to do with them, the Earth Squire doubted they intended anything good - especially since it appeared to be the source of all the lost power.
Mind made up, Falias started heading towards the crystal that he'd seen Canopus and the blue-haired senshi heading towards, but hadn't counted counted on the youma that had lunged in his direction and by the time that he had finally dealt with it the Nega-officers, at least those with the crystals had already teleported out.
Maybe at that point he should have headed home, but for some reason this didn't feel like the end of things, the question of just what the Nega-officers wanted with all that energy still remaining. Other Nega-officers were leaving, or was that withdrawing, some teleporting like the ones with the crystals had, others doing so by foot and Falias turned to see if he could follow one.
Maybe he was chasing at loose ends, maybe it really was nothing, but it wouldn't hurt to stay out longer and try to find out.

Liryn waited long enough to give the blonde senshi (Varuna) a chance to answer his question about whether she would join him in helping the Super Senshi (Acubens) and the Uranus Knight (Andronicus) a hand and then dashed after the Super Senshi who had by that time was out in front of them.
The Uranus Knight had followed after not so long before and Liryn tried to scramble after as fast as he could on his small paws, hopefully he could do his kitty best to help them with those youma whilst the other senshi and knights dealt with the Nega-officers with the crystals.
At least that had been his plan, but he hadn't counted on the Nega-officers with the crystals teleporting out and taking the crystals with them.
He tried to run faster, trying even harder to catch up to the Super Senshi and Uranus Knight who had gone on ahead.
He could 'feel' it in his paws - things weren't over yet.

The beads had actually worked, trapping the Corrupt Eternal within their barrier, however Athene hadn't been able to take the opportunity to try and lend a hand to the two senshi and dark mirror senshi trio as a couple of youma had decided that he was more interesting then the Nega-General and the crystal she was guarding.
By the time he had dealt with them, the Nega-General had gone taking the crystal with her and the Corrupt eternal appeared to have gone too, his magic having ended.
Which had left Athene with the question of just what was the General been doing with that crystal? It was at that point that it sunk in that it wasn't just that particular general who had left, but rather all the officers guarding the crystals had left. Which begged the question of what the Negaverse needed with all that energy.
A quick glance was enough to reassure Athene, that the trio that he had headed over to give a hand to appeared to be okay and so he slipped away to see if he could find either Ida or Shangri-La amongst the Order members around.
The events of the night to date had nagged at him as Athene looked, his topmost wonder being just what the Negaverse wanted with all the energy they had drained - after all it wasn't some small amount of energy given that they had caused a citywide black out with their draining.
It was mainly for that reason why Athene had decided that he would try to track the withdrawing officers after his attempts to locate Ida and Shangri-La were unsuccessful. The higher ranked officers had teleported out, but the dark-haired senshi had been around long enough to know that not all Nega-officers could teleport.
A Lieutenant he decided. I'll try to track one of the Lieutenants, see where that ends up leading me.
Mayhaps it would end up leading him nowhere, mayhaps not - but his unease about the night and stuff going on so far was such that Athene felt that he had to at least try.

[Empressite Exit] She had been planning on taking a larger part in the operation...in all three stages. And to that end she had prepared herself. What sh hadn't counted on was the ferocity of the enemy and her being injured at the very outset. She had managed to get some aid. Enough to get out of the fray in the first stage of the operation and to manage to make it to the second location.
Hell, she had even managed to collect some energy for the crystal her team was in charge of. But it was then that the youma showed up, and things went to chaos. And her energy levels depleted to the point she wasn't sure that she would be able to maintain her powered form. And failing to do so could be disasterous. She knew that much without having to be told. So after gathering the small amount of energy she had, and passing it to Persephone, she slipped into the shadows and slunk away from the operation, and the battle.
She sought out an alleyway far enough from the action that she could not be connected to it by either side. There was no way she would be able to continue on...She would not be able to see the outcome. But i the choice was to be a liability by showing up and being unfit, drawing others from their tasks, and simply not showing up, she would choose the second option every time. She would not allow herself to be a liability.
She powered down. Disappointed with herself and injured, she called her driver to come collect her. She would go home, lick her wounds, figure out what went wrong for her, and rectify it. Make sure that such a thing could not happen again. She failed this night, but she would not allow herself to fail in such a way again.
