Eun-Ho Joong




Eun-Ho lifted his left pointer finger and opened his mouth in an attempt to speak, only to find himself silence by his own thoughts. He was sure that Balthazar was only trying to be sweet, but still! Being called a queen was only so complimenting. It took several minutes, but soon enough, love won out and Eun-Ho deflated, shamed head tilting to the side just enough to settle on the king's. "I guess if it's what you want, I could get used to it," he blushed, although he was still iffy about it. But if it was what Bal wanted, he'd do it.
He jumped, though, when Haneul slammed his palms onto the table and remained sitting, although this time, his fierce blue eyes and commanding tone were solely directed at the butler.
"The vanilla is too light, the searing of the pears was not enough to fully caramelize the inside, the pears themselves are slightly overripe, and the rum was not poured as accurately as recommended which is evidenced by the distinct taste of just a bit too much. This results in six out of ten, Heinrich. Do not make me call my mother." He paused to adjust his napkin, then nodded at the pasta. "The pasta, however, is excellent. The white, red and black pepper are well complimented by the thyme and basil that I suspect you chopped yourself, along with the Parmesan cheese that has been aged to perfection. I know, because this is the cheese that I myself brought into the kitchen. The shrimp was, unfortunately, hastily peeled and deveined, but cooked to adequacy. All in all, nine out of ten."
He then turned his attention to the tartlets. "As an appetizer, it is adequate for a tartlet to be a little sloppy, but they are a little cold. I'll assume that's because of how long I took to get dressed. The pear, like the ones served for dessert, was moderately overripe, but the blue cheese managed to pull it together, landing an eight out of ten." The Korean leaned back, looking over the array. "The dinner was very good, despite it's clear setbacks with a light kitchen and very little time. Adding together all the factors, the full dinner gets an eight out of ten, amounting to a four-star meal. I enjoyed it, so thank you." His smile, although genuine, was slightly snarky and intended to further infuriate the butler. Before Heinrich could hit Haneul himself, or try to, a shoe came out of nowhere and hit the man hard, nearly throwing him out of his seat.
Eun-Ho, one shoe short, crossed his arms in anger. "Just because your mother is a chef doesn't mean you have the right to be a complete a-s. Heinrich worked really hard to cook for us, and it's all so wonderful. So stop being such a jerk and apologize, you idiot!" he cried, close to lunging across the table and beating his friend up. What was up with him lately? Sure, Haneul was a jerk, but he was never this bad.
The brunette inhaled sharply as he was scolded, then stood slowly and moved to the side of the table, stopping when he was not too far from Heinrich. "I apologize, Heinrich," he said as sincerely as he could, holding out one hand. "That was all very uncalled for. Please forgive me for being such a pompous a-s."

Eun-Ho blinked in surprise at the quiet thanks he was given, his own eyes edging with tears. Aw, he knew Heinrich didn't hate him! He should throw things at Haneul more often. Waving goodbye as warmly as he could, the blonde waited until Heinrich was gone before standing out of the king's lap and setting his hands on his hips. "You jerk. He tried really hard to make us something nice, and you had to go and hurt his feelings!"
"I think he's falling in love with me," was Haneul's only reply, softened eyes staring at the door that the butler had walked out of. "Why else would he be so passionate about hating me? I mean, he hates you, but he'd never show it. Kind of like Bae."
Eun-Ho's other shoe hit the brunette's head, his offended pout speaking mountains. "Shut up, Bae loves me! He's just quiet about it. And violent." With a small sigh, the blonde sat on the arm of the king's chair and set a hand on Balthazar's shoulder. "Besides, he's completely occupied with being Bal's servant. He'll never look twice at you, especially since you're being such an a-s."
Haneul shrugged, walking over to a counter and picking up his cell phone, unlocking it and looking for a familiar number. "Speaking of, stop trying to dictate over me, Eun-Ho. I know what I'm doing."
"Clearly not, if you're chasing him away!" protested the blonde as his friend pressed TALK and left the room. His green eyes redirected down at Bal, fierce and determined. "We've got to get them to stop being so awful to each other. I mean, I really think Haneul's falling for him, he just doesn't know what to do. Otherwise, he wouldn't be being such a jerk." Eun-Ho brought his index finger to his chin in thought. "I mean, he usually keeps to himself his problems with other's cooking, even with his mother. In fact, he doesn't even care about cooking. The fact that he actually put thought into Heinrich's food is just wonky. What do we do?"

"There's not harm in trying, though," he attempted to plead, eyes watching his friend as he finally shut the door to his and Heinrich's shared bedroom. "At the very least, can we get them to make up? I mean, they're supposed to be sleeping in the same room, and I really don't want to share a bed with anyone but you." His cheeks grew red at this, and the embarrassed male bowed his head. "S-so, do you know anyway that Haneul can make it up to him?"

The Korean thought for a moment, then spoke. "Well, it all depends on who's angry. If I'm mad at Haneul, he lets me punch him, or takes me out for ice cream, or buys me a new toy, or really anything. He hates it when I'm mad at him. He doesn't have many friends since he's so cold, so whenever I get upset, he'll do anything to fix it. He's really kinda cute, when I think about it." He tiled his head. "We get Ellery a babysitter when he's upset, we have Ellery take Bae out shopping when Bae's mad, and Sang-Min only wants more oranges for his boyfriend. But when Haneul's mad, which is actually pretty rare, we buy him books to add to his library." Eun-Ho toyed with his bracelet, a well-knotted friendship bracelet given to him by most likely a fan. "He doesn't usually stay mad for long. Honestly, he's up for anything to make things up for someone. If Heinrich really wants something, he'll do whatever he can to make it happen, especially now that he's in love."

"Whoa, whoa, wait. Are you saying that you want us all to go to the mall?" Eun-Ho raised a confused eyebrow, blonde hair falling partially over his eyes in a look that bother claimed deviance and concern. "I mean, it's kinda late. That, and the mall is ridiculously huge, we could lose each oth- oh. I gotcha." He crossed his arms, attempting to smirk back at the king, but ending up looking more like a little kid with an evil plan. "What time do you want to go?"

"Oh, I'm sure we can figure something out," said Eun-Ho in response to the king's last words. He smiled deviously, then stood upright and gestured to the bedroom. "Why don't you go get ready for bed. I'll put everything away and clean up. Oh, and if I come in with a little blood on my hands, it's probably not mine. Just trust me." He leaned down to kiss Balthazar's cheek, then took off his scarf and draped it over the king's shoulders.

Eun-Ho smiled to himself as he entered Haneul's room, shutting the door behind him and nodding at his friend, who had just finished his phone call. "Who was that?" he asked innocently, locking the door tightly.
Haneul didn't look up from his lap, setting his phone to the side before rubbing his temple. "No one, just an old friend. Is Heinrich back yet?"
"How would I know?" he shrugged, walking over with that same devious grin. "But I hope you're good at yelling, because he won't be happy unless you pay. Now keep still." He moved close, rearing back his fist.
Haneul looked up just in time to feel a fist crumple into his face and cry out in pain loud enough for the whole floor to hear.

A full half-hour later, a panting and slightly bloodied Eun-Ho left the room, cracking his red knuckles and walking out to the kitchen. "Oi, Heinrich! Can you find the first-aid kit for me? I've got someone who needs medical attention, and I'm pretty sure that he won't let me touch him." He didn't wait for a reply, making his way to his room and attempting to locate something to wear to bed.
In Haneul's room, a bruised, beaten heap lay on the ground, both eyes turning purple and clawmarks on his neck. He hadn't been expecting a beating, but couldn't make himself fight back. He'd been an a**, and Eun-Ho must've been doing this for Heinrich's sake. He deserved it. He deserved it all.
