Right. Ace regarded the 'Up Anywhere' sign quietly. This was where she had gotten stuck last time: following the sign and going perpendicular had both not worked, so perhaps going the opposite way would?
It didn't, but luckily it only took her straight back to the sign.

After grumping off from the strange place with its strange trees, he found himself at another place that was just as bizzare. He stared at the sign indicating that he was "here", and decided to follow it to another one that had said "there".
Geez, signs, make up your mind.

After walking along for a bit, she hesitated as she came to a sign which told her to go back in the exact same direction she came from. Shrugging, she turned around and .... arrived right back at the starting sing. sweetm00n squinted hard at it. That was cheating.

Next, she turned to her right and set out on the other perpendicular direction, determined to solve this methodically.
This, too, led her straight back to the sign. "What?" Ace audibly uttered, tilting her side at an angle. "I thought that I...?"

This was a very strange forest. Why did someone feel the need to put up so many signs that said here and there?

With a sigh, he decided to entertain the sign's request, heading in the direction it pointed. ... he was just going to end up walking in circles, wasn't he?
While he didn't end up right at the beginning, making a whole circle wasn't that much of an improvement.

Perhaps she just hadn't wandered at a degree different enough for the game's system to recognize that she wasn't just going straight backwards? Sure.
Determined to solve this methodically, Ace set out at a slightly different but still perpendicular path, which led her straight back to the 'There' sign.
Okay. That definitely shouldn't have happened.
