Althalos raised an eyebrow. Well, this was new. "Helped you, you say? They may have decided to take advantage of your naivete," he said, but then figured there was no point in arguing with Lynora any more. Perhaps she might have a point in a more thorough investigation. After all, the laws must have developed at least a bit in the future. "Fine. You believe they are innocent, but everyone else here believes them guilty. Perhaps we can debate on this. How are things done in your homeland?" If Lynora's claims were true, the laws here will need many changes. So many witches and warlocks had been tried and killed that perhaps a few innocents had been among them.

She didn't think she would get him to change his mind so quickly, honestly she thought it would be more of a fight but was a bit relieved when he started thinking differently. "W-well...I don't know..!" She stuttered, hating that she was being put on the spot so suddenly. "Where I come from people are innocent until proven guilty. So....prove them guilty! Explore every other alternative that would be making the children sick and if nothing else is causing this then we know for sure that they are doing something, even if they're doing it by accident."

It sounded plausible, however... "Well, we shall start with ingredients, then. However, I highly doubt they would trust me with listening to them. You, on the other hand, might be able to get something from them," Althalos said. "If you find anything interesting, I can start some investigation that might prove whether or not they are innocent or guilty."

Lynora managed a little smile, finally he was starting to think like a human instead of a ruler. "Thank you...I'm sorry about the wine. If you bring us to a bathroom I can clean it off." She said bashfully, feeling a bit silly for drenching the poor man in his drink.

"You certainly are a strange girl," Althalos said, wiping off some wine that remained on his face. "Worry not about me. I needed an excuse to get away from the party anyhow. I seek to return to my room, but I can't have you wandering the halls. Is there somewhere you would like to be dropped off first?"

Lynora laughed a little at the strange comment, she was used to hearing that. "Well....I suppose I should go to bed early. I definitely don't want to go back to the party, I'm pretty sure I'd just embarrass myself more." To be honest she was a little disappointed that he was turning in so soon but there would always be tomorrow.

Althalos extended a hand to her. "Then allow me to lead you back to your room," he told her. "In all honesty, it is such a shame we didn't get a chance to dance. I normally despise it, but I wouldn't mind if you were my partner."

Lynora took the hand that was offered to her but didn't start walking right away. "Well then lets get you cleaned up and do that!" she said with a bright smile but she could see the hesitation in him. "Come on, it'll be fun. Lets get you cleaned up a little and come back for a dance before we go to bed."

Althalos perked up in surprise. He hadn't expected Lynora to change her mind so quickly. "Are you sure? I thought you didn't want to go back," he said. He did want to dance with her, but he wanted to just get away from the party even more. Well, there went his chance to escape. "Very well. Perhaps it should be a gift to my father as well. He always tells me he would like to see me dance with a girl willingly."

Lynora smiled and shoved him out of her way. "Go on! Go get cleaned up! I'll wait for you here and try not to make a fool of myself in front of your father." she urged lightly. "If you don't return I'll drag you here myself!" she warned as Al disappeared down the hallways.

As Althalos walked away to change, he realized that this was perhaps the first time in his life that he was following the orders of a girl. And that he didn't mind. There was just something about her that made him want to listen to everything she said, and each word or idea stuck to his mind and wouldn't let him go until he acted on it. Reaching his room and picking out a simpler form of formal wear, as he didn't want to have to fix all the annoying ruffles again, and returning to where Lynora stood. "There. Satisfied?"

Lynora smiled and nodded at Al's reappearance. "Yes, very much so." she said happily as she faced the doors to the ballroom once more, gathering more questioning expressions from a few more girls. "Shall we go?" she asked softly, feeling a little nervous now that she was realizing that she was about to dance with a Prince. She only hoped she wouldn't step on his feet.

Once more, Althalos held out his arm. "There is no point in standing around, is there?" he asked with a bit of sarcasm as he walked with her back to the ballroom. He could already hear the whispers from those who would accuse him of being in love. It was odd, but he could see where they were coming from. He did run after a girl, which he had never done before in his life, and it made him wonder just why he did so. Lynora was still very much a stranger, as they had only met today, but he didn't see her as very much so.

She gave him a nervous smile and took his arm, resisting the urge to cuddle the arm she took but that was easy since nearly all of the women were giving her that 'Die b***h die' look. Lynora tried hard to ignore the other women but she could feel holes being burned into the back of her head, not at all pleasing for a dance with the Prince. Al stopped after a few steps into the ballroom; she turned to face him, one hand in his, the other on his chest while his hand was against her waist. They began a normal dance she learned in physical education class but she was having a hard time with it and soon Lynora stepped on his feet. "O-oh I'm sorry! I stepped on your foot!" she said as she stopped the dance for a minute.The Crazy Tomboy ((Egg Hunt!!!! biggrin ))

Althalos was aware that some of the women would be jealous of Lynora, but he merely smirked back at them and continued the dance. He was not bothered when Lynora's feet stepped on his own. "It's fine. I actually didn't expect you to be such a good dancer initially," he said to her and waited for her to recover from embarrassment before they continued. "Are the women over there bothering you? Don't mind them. The most they can do is gossip nonsense."
