Kyrie helped Andarien to sit on the ground and put her hand against his forehead.
"A good precaution to take, I suppose," she murmured. "Does that mean then that he is more like you and Miyuki than like Earendil? From that other world, I mean? The elves here very rarely become ill."

"Yes, Andarien is originally from my world and unlike myself or Earendil grows in stages like Miyuki," Lin explained.
Even though no one had seen either of them grow in stages. Andarien had grown before Kyrie had even arrived.

Kyrie nodded and took Andarien's wrist to check his pulse. "I see - I think," she murmured. "It's good to know, it means that I need to watch him for symptoms as well as we go."
After a moment, she released his wrist. "Put a blanket on him and keep him warm," she told Lin. "I'm fairly certain it's just shock. I'll keep an eye on him for a while, though, anyways, just to be sure."

Lin nodded as she reached into her bag and pulled out a blanket.
"Where are we going?" Miyuki asked Kyrie.
It was a question she had already asked, but she figured Kyrie might know. At least she hoped so.

Kyrie's brow furrowed slightly. "I have no idea," she said softly. "I was just discussing that with Mari and Mathias. There are so few places that are safe ... we will have to discuss it some more."
There was a worried look in her eye that suggested that there was something else she wasn't saying, but she simply looked around as if searching for something.

Lin nodded slowly, probably should have expected this much, though there seemed to be something else.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
Besides the fact the soldiers seemed to know enough to turn the place upside down. It did make her wonder, true, she knew that they hadn't hidden their tracks nearly as well, but there did seem to be some sort of urgency when the soldiers came through.

Kyrie sighed softly. "Let's wait until we can all talk together. This concerns everyone now."
She paused a moment longer, thinking, and then she turned back to Lin. "Perhaps Miyuki should stay with Andarien and you come talk with us," she suggested quietly. "I believe this may concern you most of all."
She looked at LIn a moment longer, then headed back towards Mari and Mathias.

Lin paused and then nodded, "Okay, once everyone is gathered and settled I'll have Miyuki watch Andarien."
She wondered if it had to do with Earendil, she mused on this before going to check on both her children. Andarien was still pale, but she was sure with sometime he would recover.
Once they were ready to talk, Lin did ask Miyuki to keep an eye on her brother. It wasn't that hard, despite Miyuki's physical age, she was still technically young and was more willing still to defer to her mother when it was needed.

A moment after Lin joined them, another man came out of the second cabin. He was tall and muscularly built, and he looked very grim.
"Arphenion, this is Lin," Kyrie introduced her when the man joined them. "Her husband is the one who was arrested. Lin, this is Arphenion, Dae'er's husband."
The man nodded a greeting to Lin. "I'm sorry to hear about your husband," he said, and though his words were quick, they rang with sincerity.

Lin nodded in return, "Thank you for your words."
She studied him for a moment, he must have served in the military, though since that was the norm to be forced into service here it didn't surprise her in the least.
Once she was satisfied she looked to Kyrie, because Kryie's earlier words had not bode well to her.

"Dae'er and the children are packing up what we really need," Arphenion told Kyrie, his jaw set grimly. "We should be ready shortly."
Kyrie nodded. "Then you and your family should go to your mother-in-law's home and stay with her. The General knows Earendil wasn't alone and it seems they've tracked us here. Hopefully they won't search the city, it's the last thing they would expect."
"Then maybe we should also move to the city," Mari suggested quietly, glancing at Mathias.
The big man scowled. "Are you insane? Straight into his hands? Most of the people there would give you up in a heartbeat for immunity from the General's soldiers."

Lin tilted her head just a bit, she wondered if anyone would recognize Mari for who she was. There was always a chance someone would, so perhaps it was better to not take that chance.
"What is the next move for the rest of us? Mathias is right, it is far too risky, they may not be searching the city, but word by now has to reach they're searching for something."

"Perhaps it is risky, but what else can we do?" Mari frowned. "We can't keep running. Being inside the city is the safest place for now - the country must be crawling with soldiers. And we have to risk going in at least once anyways to bring Arphenion and Dae'er and their family-"
"We can get in on our own," Arphenion interrupted her, but Mari held up one hand to stop him.
"We will get you in safely," she told him firmly. "Your safety is no guarantee otherwise. And once we are in, it will be far easier to stay in than to leave and attempt another entry. We have to get in anyways."
"Mari, that's suicide!" Mathias burst out angrily. "Are you-"
"Easier once than three times," Mari said calmly. "Far from insane, I assure you."
"Before we go anywhere as a group, I propose that we find out if Tsara has room and is willing to take all of us," Kyrie said, stepping between Mari and Mathias and holding her hands up to them to stave off any further arguments between them. "She's one person I know we can trust implicitly. We'll use the dragons to leave here so we can't be tracked again, and before we leave we'll have them make it look like the cabins were attacked by dragons. Maybe it will help explain why their soldiers didn't return and they won't look further for us."
She looked between the two of them. "In the meantime, both of you, stop your bickering. Mathias, she can't keep hidden forever, and you can't protect her from every risk. Mari, I know how important this is, but do bear in mind, the people here do care about you, and if anything happens to you, others will suffer."

It was a relief that Kyrie was there to stop any further arguments. She could see that the two would disagree quite a bit on some key points when safety and practicality was involved.
"That sounds like a plan then," Lin agreed.
So far, nothing to worry about too much, despite Kyrie's earlier warning.

"It's a few hours' walk," Mari said quietly, "but how far is it by air?"
"Not long, ten minutes maybe," Kyrie replied. "But you stay here with everyone while I go. I should be back within the hour. If I'm not, hide."
Mari opened her mouth to protest. "But-"
"Don't argue with me," Kyrie interrupted her with a frown. "If I'm spotted, fine. If you're spotted, you're dead. In the meantime - Lin." She turned towards Lin again. "Those tents of yours, and those bags of yours. Does the space inside the tents still exist when you close them up?"
