Adelaide watched as Tahlia filed everything into the smuggler's hold and saw the hand to come out and help her in. She grabbed it and got in quickly, following Viktor's orders to be silent. She kept her eyes open, even though it was dark and took her own calming breaths. She could do heights, she could do dangerous situations and swords. Darkness, that was something she didn't like.
She then felt Tahlia's arms around her and relaxed. She smiled at her words, even though the other girl couldn't see. Speaking in a whisper that mimicked Tahlia's, she let it out. "I'm glad I'm here, even though you didn't want me here at first." Her jealousy that was there moments before melted and she held Lia just as tightly. "I'll protect you Lia, promise." Wasn't that a memory waiting to happen? Adelaide had said the same thing to Tahlia when they were young, and that was the first vow Ela had made to her. She wanted to repay her for helping her with the teasing boys, and she had, and still was.

((If one of you would please take command of the other ship))

Adrian watched, nervously as the ships drew nearer to each other. His hand was instinctively gripping the handle of his dagger. Lately his luck seemed to be very erratic. First there was Arianne Kyoko, and Adelaide. Then it was Tahlia instead of Arianne, but then now it was a naval battleship. "And I didn't even actually kidnap either girl, but I'd still hang for this." He muttered, before walking to the helm to wait for the ships to pass by each other.

((DX what to dooo, what to doooo.))
The naval ship pulled up alongside the pirate ship, with the captain hollering to Adrian to prepare to be boarded. Though Adrian was no doubt muttering curse words in his mind, some of his luck had panned out- as the captain naval officer walked across the planks, he believed the small ship to be a merchants boat. "Ahoy." He tipped his- obviously overly fancy hat at a few of the sailors, approaching Adrian almost hesitantly. "Is all well here? With the storm passing through we were checking to see if any of the smaller ships needed supplies. Are you the captain of this vessel?"

"Yes, I am." Adrian nodded deciding to use an alias, "Captian Jacobs, at your service. We got caught in the storm last night, a little off course, but no problems." He said forcing a smile, "Just checking on any passing ships? We were taking some spice shipments to Reavis Port up north." he raised en eyebrow at the other captain, "Its odd for a military ship to be doing routine checks like this. Has there been some sort of trouble going on? I'd like to avoid any unneccesary problems."

The naval officer nodded at his nondescript name, flicking a glance around him at the ship. "None of your spices were damaged?" He frowned a bit when Adrian raised an eyebrow. "Well, that was the next thing I needed to speak with you about." He reached into his pocket, and pulled out a folded up piece of paper. "These women are missing, presumed runaways, and for undisclosed reasons believed to be stowaways." The picture was a crude redrawing of Tahlia and Adelaide, both drawn in normal clothes, not their fancy trappings. For any who knew who these ladies really were, it was obvious they were attempting to keep the disappearances of the high priestess and the princess from spreading to too many ears. "Now I doubt a small ship like yours, carrying spices, would have many places for stowaways to hide. While I'm sure you've searched the ship on your own, I'd like my men to search it as well." While the naval officer was being polite for now, and hadn't insisted upon anything yet, there was no saying how this would turn out.

"Waterproof, sealed crates and barrels." Adrian said glancing uninterested at the picture. "I have watch placed on my ship at all times in port, no one gets on, not even dock workers, without my say so." He said, locking eyes with the other captain. "So I highly doubt these girls would be aboard my ship. And once more, a few simple runaways seems a bit mundane, for such a large ship." He said, almost challenging the man, and motion for his men to block the hold. "I have nothing to hide, and I will cooperate. But if you're going to send men into my cargo hold, I'm going to know why the royal navy has such a vested interest in these girls."

He nodded. "Good, good. That's above and beyond the general regulations, even." The statement that he doubted the girls would be on his ship had his eyes narrowing. "Mundane?" Though nothing in Adrian's speech was an overt challenge, a muscle in the naval captains forehead twitched. "I.. commend," His voice was strained. "Your curiousity, good sir, but I'm afraid I have to insist. And there is truly nothing more to this." His voice betrayed nothing, but his glare at Adrian as he motioned his own men towards the hold proved he didn't appreciate being questioned.
Now, why would someone be so secretive were there nothing to the say?
PostPosted: Wed Feb 12, 2014 11:53 pm

"Sir, searching for simple runaways, is a mundane task. Now, if these girls were important. Such as the daughter of a high ranking official or dignitary, I could understand." He said his hand dropping to his dagger, his fingers gently laying against the handle, and his other hand motioned for his men to stand their ground. Mis men nodded and stood hands on their own swords. "I run a clean and organized ship. I'm not going to have my hold torn apart by your soldiers looking for someone who can't even be there." He said, his hand gripping the dagger handle.

One solider then drew their sword, "Don't even think of drawing that knife!" He said, but as his actions all of Adrians crew drew their weapons

"Yes, I'll do so much damage with a blunt blade. It's a good luck charm of mine, and its a bit of a habit for me to grip the handle." He said before giving a sharp glare to his crew, them all resheathing their blades. "I don't need bloodshed on my ship. And Captain, that storm last night cost me a lot of time, and this is taking even more. That shipment is already going to be late, and that is money that I am losing. If I see these girls, I will see to it, that the military is informed. But unless they are holding the bottom of the hull, they are not aboard my ship."

His mouth twitched. He himself had not been trusted with any information beyond that these women were more important than to be assumed, and that it was vital to both find them, and not raise any fuss. When his hand rested on his dagger, the Naval Captains hand twitched towards his own blade, but his man got to it first. "He has a point, Andrew. Stand down." The Naval Captain huffed, turned, and muttered. "See to it." He strode back towards his ship. "But, sir-" "Do not question me." He muttered softly. "We are to find them with discretion. Not by waving around our blades."

And with that, the Naval officer and his men slowly oozed back onto their own ship, and began to sail away.

Once the naval ship had left, a scowl crossed Adrians face. "I hate the navy." He looked Viktor, "Once the Naval ship is far enough away, go get our guests." He said as he moved to the helm, and veered the ship slightly to the North, "I need to make it look like we are heading to Reavis Port. At least until that ship is out of sight." He said. After glacning back to look at the naval vessel he nodded to Viktor to go open the smugglers hold where Tahlia and Adelaide were hiding.

As Tahlia held Adelaide, she stared at where the entrance had been, waiting for it to open. Unsure of whether she expected friend or foe, Tahlia knew either way she'd be prepared. When light shone, dim but enough to shock her eyes for a moment, Tahlia shoved Adelaide behind her and rested her hand on her pistol. As her vision cleared, and Tahlia recognized Viktor, and breathed a sigh of relief. "All clear?" At his nod, Tahlia picked up their things- though she debated keeping in the smugglers hold for safe keeping, and heading upwards, reaching a hand out to Adelaide to help her.
After a brief stop in the captains cabin, where she dropped off her things, Tahlia breathed in the salty fresh air as she reached the deck. Spotting Adrian, she strode over. "How'd it go?"

"I hate the navy. Arrogant bastards think they can march onto any ship and do as they please." He muttered, "It's because of people like them, that I can barely make a dishonest living!" He snapped, before taking a deep breath, "Sorry, I just nearly had a bloodbath up here, One of those navy b*****d saw me rest my hand on the dagger. Thought I'd try to kill his captain or something. Hew brew his sword, so my drew drew their blades to defend me.....It could have been a massacre. I got lucky."

Tahlia, unable to help herself, giggled, covering her mouth. "I think that that's the point of the navy, Cap'n Adrian." She shook her head when he apologized. "No apologies needed. Whatever you did up here kept them from dragging Ela and I back, and I appreciate it." When he commented on getting lucky, Tahlia glanced down at his dagger, then back up at him. "Well thankfully for all our skins you did."
In gratitude, and without fully being aware of what she was doing, Tahlia rested her hand on his shoulder. Abruptly remembering what had transpired moments before Adelaide spotted the ship, Tahlia snatched her hand back and turned away, trying to hide the blush that enflamed her cheeks. Staring out at the sea, the sun well past dawn now, Tahlia recalled her responsibilities as priestess. Even as she remembered the hymns she ought to have been singing with the rising sun, Tahlia found herself humming another song alltogether.

When the opening was opened, Adelaide squinted her eyes before letting Tahlia go and rubbing them. Once it was confirmed that it was Viktor, she helped her friend gather their things. "I was starting to like the dark..." She muttered sarcastically. She'd never like the dark, ever. Once again, she was helped and stayed silent, dropping her things off alongside Tahlia.
After a few stretches, she walked on deck and turned to look at Adrian. She shook her head and scoffed. "Oh of course. If people like you couldn't make a dishonest living, what would happen to the world?" She rolled her eyes and began to climb up to the crows nest. Once settled into the spot she had been in before, she kept her eyes out for anything out of the ordinary.

Adrian smirked to Adelaide. "If I don't make a dishonest living, than what kind of living does a pirate make?" he then looked to Tahlia, "And don't be so kind. Me and my whole crew would be executed if you were found, stowaways or not. Anything to cover up your disappearance." He said crossing his arms, "And no one outside of us knows about this little crusade, do they?"
