The battles were rough and ruthless and the Ancient Ghosts gave them no leway as they consltaty rushed wihtout fear. Every specter met them head on and battle themwith nlfintching brutality.
Farkas though couln't go any further. 'Why did it have to be spiders?' He asked himself. He feltt shamed admitting that somehting to small, well maybe these weren't Small but he was still ashamed of his fear. When Alea and Zev left his company he simply tredged back threw the tomb to wait with Vilkas who as he suspected more than delighted to see him unharmed.
Aela and Zev soon stood before Kodlak again along with the fire of the Harbingers of old. Kodlak's wolf spirit however refused to go down eaisly and everytime they thaught one blow had ended it came charging at them again. The beast spriti had arrows and gahses covering it's specutrle fur while constnlaty lunged and snarled wihtout tire at it's two attackers.
The beast gave an unholy deaht howl as Zev's sword fianlly seemed to hit it's last ounce of strength and it faded and crumbed to the floor into nothingness. Aela was .. even more shocked when Kodlak said Zev, ZEV, was to be their new Harbinger!
The welp that ran and got him and Skjor killed was to lead them!? She almsot wanted to vent in furry but .. restrained herself. 'f Kodlak says he's to lead than ... the welp has something none of us ever got to see. Only Kodlak.'
Vilkas wans't going to like this.
"So he appointed you. I'll be hoenst I wasn't expecting it." She admitted to him.

"First off Zev, Kodlak said You were to lead us and though yes I'll admit I have .. reservations of it I will respect the Old Man's wishes. He's always had an eye for people so .. think about it. And secodnly, no one's whispering though tha tmight just be Vilkas panicing over seeing the Frostibte spider coprses we left. Also youd on't want Farkas in charge ... it's sort of a rule we have. Vilkas though .. well he'll respect Kodlak's word don't worry but, he may be unhappy about it being you." Aela shrugged feeling the tension in her shoulders fianlly beginning to make itself known. "Vilkas will give you a bit of a hard time but he wont do anything. He loved ad respected Kodlak to much to ever go agaisnt him. so don't worry and FArkas will listen to whoever's in charge."
Part of her somewhat resented Zev but Kodlak's word she would honor abid till her dying breath if that was what it took. Viilkas though .. part of her genually felt sorry for Zev for That partticular conversation.

Killling him had been easier than she had thaught. Yes it took two and half days to even reach Windhelm and nealry a whole night to wait till he was alseep before she had slipped in and slit his throat in hsi sleep. Planting the letter and than as inconspicusly as possible slipped out of the Inna nd than the city. She made it mile out of the city before an acutal problem surfaced, Stormcloaks of which she had little time and paticen for. She needed to get home and inform everyone of her success and these Nords were prevenitng her.
She could haven handled the sneers they threw at her back, the luide comments the male soldiers threw at her till somehtign apparnelty set off alarm bells to them. She was accused of being a Thalmor suppsoter and an Empiral spy, both uttelry redicuoous but there was no reaosning with them.
Somehow she coudlnt' rember as it was a haze, and they had dared challenge her thus their deahts were their own faults. Her horse, her poor little Ash Fall had been peiced with four arrows in her side and the poor creatures screams ... Sonja held the horses head to try and silence her her own wounds hurting her.
One soldier had gottne lucky and gotten her in the side. The other stil lookign after she killed htree of them. "I'm sorrry.' She whispered to her Ash Fall as she held her head and drove her dagger in the mares throat silanceing and ending her screams.
The others were apon her before he horses blood was even cold and one nealry ruhdd her with a hammer, depsite the heavy snow she was able to roll to the side barley avoding a gruesum death.

Farkas and Aela joined back up with Vilkas who was still at the enterance to the tomb, Zev had appanrlety said nothing to him as he went off exploring. Vilkas's extression at finding out Zev was their new Harbinger was very cold, surprised but also somehting else Aela couldn't quit place.
"You think he's up for it?" She asked Vilkas while Farkas looked ot his brother not entirly sure what to do with himself.
"Kodlak wants to Welp to lead than that's how it goes." Vilkas's voice was colder than ice same as his eyes which made Aela aware he was only agreeing for the mutal love and respect they all shared for Kodlak. "Whether or not he's any good at leading remians to be seen."
"He's capable and honorable though." Farkas offered up which made his twin give him an odd look. Farkas just gave his brother his own look that meant 'it my opnion tkae it or leave it'. Vilkas simply sighed while thinking of just lookign aroudn to distract himself.

The warhammer feel where she had one moemnt ago been but only connected wiht the snow. She was quickr than them all but she wans't as adopt in fightneing in the forzen land as they were. 'Fight your own than.' The dark energy of oblivion surged threw her arm as she aimed at a fallen corpse that twitched in ungodly ways before rising with an unholy scream. The soldiers left were horrified and disgusted for a moment as the shambling corpse of their former comrade came at them in a blidn furry.
"Necromancer b***h!" One spat at her comign stright at her with a deadly sharp sword. A split second manuver saved her from losing her arm but gave her a nasty gash. "Assassin in the service of Sithis!" She spat back at the stormbloacks while using her magic to reach deep into the gates of oblivion and pulled out her strongest ally.
The Dremora gave an unholy howl as it charged forht form the black and blue portal she created.
The blood and carnige that erupted form the ensuieng battle left Sonja exhausted yet excited and felt more alive than she could remeber feeling. But now rembbering her slain horse and that she must wlak home .. well at least she had some nethuiasim to keep her company.

Farkas halted his horse and hismounted to walk up next to Zev. "You sure? Gray horses are kinda common .." He said looking at the horse while it was possible it had been the strenge little creautre of a women that had lead them to the Hagravens. "Your sure it's your friends?" The harse was riddled with arrows and the animals throat slahed while the ground was stained and smeared with blood. Thhe Stormclack corpses were ropped to peices as well. "Unless your friends moon born kinda hard to imagen that small litte thing doing this."
Vilkas dropped down form his own horse and lookedover to bodiesthat looked as though theey had been literally ripped in half by somehting. The others though were slashed with peicring accuracy. "Your little shadow wlaker friend a necromancer as well?" He asked looking at the decayed tale tell sighns of a body reanimated by magic. The whole palce reeked of death, blood and magic which made Vilkas's sotmache churn in anger.
Farkas sense his brother's growing negative moode and strove to help disuade him. "Their dead and she proably bleed to death out there somewhere. Or she froze. The blood trails but doubt she made it far in this wheather." He prefered his brother in more pleasent moods though perhapes that would have to wait till later.

Night

That night the four Compaions had set up camp in the small cave they found that offered shelter fromt he snow and wind. A small fire was goign for warmth and for the gaot Aela had gotten for htem, though it wouldnt' last all that long. The storm had thankfully past the previous day though it was still unwise to travel at ngiht in the snows, espeically as tired as they all were. There was a small river a bit away from their camp that offered them freash water, and Aela evne took the opperutnity to bath even though the water had cuased her to yelp loudly at its coldness.
That had caused Farkas to run out thinkign she had been attacked and accdinelty stumble apon her naked ot the world which made her yell at him as she threw a rock at him though saldy she wans't able to cover up the inportant bits fast enough. The rock his him in the head which made him halt running to rub the now small bleeding wound on it. The walk backa nd than explainign to Vilkas what happend nealry made his twin laugh and he probalby would have if Zev wans't there.
Appanrlety Viklas thaught laughter int he Redgaurd's preence wasn't tolerated at least for him.
"I thaught somehtign jumped at her." Farkas grumbled while having a small pout on his face as he lighlty rubbed the small cut Aela had inflicted apon him. "Or a .. spider found her..." He shivered at his comment.
"Farkas stop touching it or it wont heal." Vilkas remvoed his borhter hand form his wound. "And I would tell you if there was a spider near by." He let go of his twins' writs after a moemtn while pulling the fur cloak he wore more over his head for warmth.

She just kept running and running and running. Sonja was covnend she had been running for days non stop but knew it only flet like days. The snows hadn't helped her progress back home ehtier nor did her wounds whcih had forced her to stop periodcially to heal them. What potions she had left had been used up long ago and she was reduced to using her very limited healing magic, conjuration and other darker magic were her speiclyt not helaing.
'I need to fix that .. maybe acutlaly sit down and read those damn books on basica healing .. mgiht save myself time, blood and coin...' She thaught as she pulsed the goldne energy into her side and thanmoved to her arm. Once she had used what felt sufficent she began her journey once again.
It was dark now and she knewshe was easy pickings for bandits or any beast that spotted her. But there was nothing she could use for shelter nor did she have any sufficent supplies her food nealry gone as was her water. "Maybe I should have braught Cicero, I could have had him carry me on his back." She muttered and felt herslef laughing at the thaught for no real reason, only to trip over a root and land face first in tne snow.

Vilkas watched Zev head out and only stopped when the Regarud vanished form his line of isght. He noticed Farkas givign him an odd look. "What?" He asked wondering what his twin had going threw his mind. 'Not always the more in depth still has his moments.'
"You made him run." Farkas said simply while his hand went bakc up to his small wound and was doing his best to not scratch it. Farkas always had the amazign ability to make the simplest statemnts carry tremendous weight, at times.
"Are you worried he'll run off if I glare at him to much than brother?" Vilkas asked while reaching over to pull Farkas's hand from his wound. "And I said stop." He told him softly while titll hodling his wrist.
Farkas glanced at his brother's hand than carefully outside, seeing no one returning. "You know.." He began slowly and it had been sometiem sense they had ... been together.
"Not here. Be patient." Vilkas said while fianlly removign hsi hand form Farka's wrist both of which were somewhat disapointed by the sudden remvoal of contact. 'Later when I don't have to worry about that Coward sniffing around and getting envoved where he's not wanted.' Vilkas thaught.
Aela had fianlly pulled all her armor back on after finishing her bath. She was wlakign back to camp when she saw Zev leaving the cave and felt the need to ask. "Vilkas scare you off Harbinger?" She asked while adding his new title simply to wathc him squirm ever so slightly. "Or were you feelign restless tongith. Full moon and all that." The moon always held such sway with them espeiclaly their emotions it seemed. 'They wont while we're out here. They woulnd;t risk it. Vilkas is smarter than that well I hope anyway.'' She thaught with some nervousness as Zev didn't need to be aware of ... certain things envovlign the Twins. 'Their real degree of closeness can be kept form him. Not sure I want to know how he'll take it.'

Farkas walked out hearing Zev tlaking, the others heard to but didn't seem to think it was all that inportant. "Who you talking to?" He asked than saw the little group of straggly little pups aways from Zev. "Oh you got pets?" He asked while looking at the large grey wolf pup and htan at its smaller siblings. Vilkas seemingly appeared beside his brother getting the sent of the new comers along with Aela. All togeahter there were four wolves hudled together in the snow.
The largest a grey monster that looked at zev in a begging manner. Alittle arburn colored on with two white ones with mis mathced eyes.
"New friends you have there?" Vilkas asked as one of the white pups crawled partically away fromt he ball of furs into the snows to chew ona stick a bit away. The other one joiend shorlty after and ismply pounched on its sibling cuasing a yelp.
"Their cute." Farkas said looking at the pups which made Vilkas look at him with an odd look. "What?" H easked innocnelty.
Aela walked carefully up to stand beside Zev nad looked at the hulkign grey wolf. "That's not a wolf Zev ... tha'ts a Dire wolf." She siad after examinign the beast carefully., Dire Wolves were the raret wolves nealry double if not triple the size of Ice Wolves and could be as large as horses even.

Oh by Sithis Sonja was tired! Her bones ached and screamed with pain with every step. She had been lucky that a farmer and his family were travleign and offered her a ride, coverign her armor carefully before they came on the scene was hte only reason she got a ride in the firs tpalce. They dropped her off outsde Whiterun to which she gve a curt reply of thanks before being on her way.
'That boy stared at my chest any longer I would have thrown him form the wagen.' The farmers oldest son hadn't exalcly been sublte in hsi watching her. Her skin crawled at the memomry as she began a now shorter journey home. Sithis she was hugery thogh! The family shared whatg food they had with her and she had debated on acutally robbing them for her own preservation but than thaught better of it.
To tired to have cared.'
It felt like hours before she fianly found herself home. Theconforitng breahting of the black dooras she slid in.
But Sithis the chaos tha awaitedc her inside...
