Firstly, and related to the Katena, yes they are basically Shinigami. More precisely, they are the original Shinigami if you will. They were a Divine race of beings that functioned in a way drastically different than the Shinigami. There were no hollows during their time because they merely absorbed the souls of the deceased, good and bad. Along come the Shinigami and the Katena get ousted, sealed and grow spiteful. And so we come about to where we are now. The only hitch to being a Katena is the Zodiac release, which is a third release giving them that extra punch. Although I don't think it's been added in yet, there's a little more back story on them that's actually being written (although it won't change any of the core concepts about them).

Secondly, double sun power.

Yeah the new race was a tad hard to handle. Rogues were, at the time, being done in a more wide spread area and there were a fair few guilds incorporating new races. We batted both ideas around for a while before we (re: Mochii) realized that no one ever talked about what happened before the Seireitei was the Seireitei and Shinigami were Shinigami. In canon, we know they were bandits, but what about earlier? What if we went further back? And as a result, we were given the Katena. Still Shinigami, to a degree, but something wholly different as well. They weren't Rogues. They aren't motivated by clashing ideals. They aren't Hollows/Quincy either, same concept. They don't have a deep-seeded hatred for the Shinigami stemming from war and senseless violence. So what's it like to fight an enemy who has little reason to hate you, all of your strengths, and then some? The alternate world setting was to just avoid canon as much as possible and incorporate a more stable time line.

Also, quite unfortunate, I hate when that happens.

Yuri is a male name too. I know someone who's name is Yuri Slaughter...no lie.

Actually, I think Yuri is more widespread as a male name than a female one, but that's merely my own unprofessional and baseless thought. However, if we include shorthanded names, nicknames, etc, then I'm pretty sure it becomes more of a female's name than a male's.

Hail to all you fine Ladies and Gentlemen. Just signed on to the guild, and wanted to say to the guild staff, I am very impressed with the set up of this guild, and the story within. Ive been around, Ive seen a lot of guilds, and none have had me as excited as this one does. Now I just need my brain to get goin x 3

Thank you for your welcome good sir. I am delighted to say I am filling a seat in a squad that as yet, I see, Has no members, despite being an essential squad. I hope my character will meet with the approval, if not fondness, of all.
