 " Yeah, but why was I the one that had to get hit?" Cameron grumbled while rubbing his nose. That is, until another pen flew out and hit Liam on the face. The only hint of to whom threw it was the mischievous giggle coming from Julian.

Liam didn't even react, only turning to look at the boy. " Very good game, actually. We should put him in Little League. Hey kid, throw another."

Mayah Playah So I take it Liam's not a kid person? Julian blinked at Liam then nodded and ran over to the table to pick up the pen he hurled at Cameron. He curled his tiny fingers around them then chucked it back at the doctor.

Mayah Playah D'aww~ Does that happen after Julian gets bullied? Y'know, like when he and Daniel get along? In response, Julian hurled another pen at Liam. He giggled and pulled one of his eyelids down while sticking his tongue out at him. It was so much fun seeing the bad-smelling doctor get angry! Even Cameron chuckled. " I think he likes you~" he said in a sing-song tone.

" Yeah, and I think I'm going to slice his throat, skin him, and make him into a new coat," hissed Liam as he snatched up the pen and hurled it at Cameron. Awesome nerd I think he'll show it right after Julian gets bullied. He'll hug him close and stroke his hair, and tell him that he's perfect and that if anyone else bullies him, to tell him so he can make sure that they disappear.

Mayah Playah D'aww~ When will Daniel even come back? I wanna see Julian stalk him~ " He'd be too small for a coat, don't you think?" Cameron snorted, crossing his arms, then jumped back when the pen hit his head. " What the- Hey! What'd you do that for?" he whined and rubbed the lump forming on top of his head.

" Then he'll be a hat!" replied the man, crossing his arms and holding up another pen. He turned to Julian and tossed it at the boy's forehead. " Try to catch it," he ordered as the pen was thrown. Awesome nerd As soon as he terrifies the s**t out of Mark and gets pretty much ordered out of the house.

Not expecting the retaliation, Julian was defenseless against the attack. The pen bounced off his forehead, landing a foot away from him. " Oww!" he cried out and pressed his tiny hand against his head. He stared at Liam, dumbfounded, until his eyes suddenly widened to the size of pans and shined with overflowing tears. " Y-Y-You h-hurt m-m-meeee!!!" he sniffled. Balling up small fists, he pressed them to his closed eyes, sat down on the ground, and started wailing. Cameron frowned at Julian. That boy could smile through a massacre but couldn't handle a bop to the head. " Feel good about yourself now, Liam?" the cop huffed at his boyfriend. " If Fredrich was here, he'd take Julian away and sue us for child abuse!" He shuddered at the thought of what could've been. The detective towering over them to the point where his entire upper half was silhouetted except for the shining white rectangles of his glasses. He could picture a wall of fire behind him as he bellowed, ' You idiots can't take care of a child for five minutes!'

" Oh, shut up, Cameron! It's your big mouth that got us into this mess!" snapped the doctor as he walked over to the boy. He crouched down, resting his arms on his knees as he looked at the boy. Reaching into his jacket, he pulled out two items: a cherry lollipop and a small rubber mallet. " Hey, if you stop crying, I'll give you both these treats. The lollipop tastes really good, and you can use the mallet to keep hitting me and Cameron. But this one's really special. Watch." He pressed the side of the mallet's hand and held it up in front of the boy as the mallet suddenly sprouted spikes. " There're four settings. The first is normal, the second is spikes, the third is twice its size, and the fourth has both two and three. Do you want it?"

Julian's cries diminished to an occasional sniffle when he saw the hammer extended towards him, and his eyes widened in awe when he saw the hammer transform. " Ooh..." he mumbled and reached for the play toy as if it was the Holy Grail. " I-I want it!"

Liam pulled the mallet out of reach just as Julian's little fingers touched the handle. " Only if you promise to come with us and behave," he said, waving it tantalizingly. " I've got a bunch more a lot like this at home, anyway."

Julian nodded like an obedient, brainwashed subject. " O-Okay." he agreed, hungrily staring at the hammer. He could picture himself swinging it at the orphans back at the orphanage. It would be so much fun! All those spikes tearing into them! He was sure there would be much more blood! " Look at that!" Cameron laughed. " You're a natural!" he complimented Liam.

" Only if child-rearing is all about manipulation," he replied, handing Julian the mallet after turning it back to normal and picking him up. " Come on, let's go home. I'm exhausted already, and this kid's probably hungry."
