Aoi kept swimming upside-down and humming to herself for a little while, though she soon stopped and looked to Alexis when he spoke. "I don't know all of the islands around here, though I have been here for long enough to know a good protion of the area. I can also talk to the dolphins and get directions. I could take you back to where I first found you, if you'd like that?" she asked and then scanned the area, seeing something that she recognized and told Alexis that she had been swimming over that way before sunbathing for a short while; just before she went after him to see who or what he was. "Do you think that you may be able to find your way back if I take you there? Or do I need to take you further? And it's just straight that way to where I first met you, so it shouldn't be too hard to get back." she said, rambling a bit, as she floated in the water, smiling at Alexis.{{ooc:}}

Alexis tilted his head thoughtfully. "We can check that out. Honestly, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that I can breathe underwater," he said with a slight chuckle, not seeming to mind her rambling at all. For just a moment, he wondered how she'd be with children.

Aoi did a backward somersault before giggling at Alexis' words. "It must be strange finding out you can do something that you weren't aware of before. I just wish that there was something about me that I didn't know... I almost wish that I could be like you, with the legs and all that... but I doubt it'll ever happen, since my whole family, except my mother of course, was from the village in which I was born... So I doubt that I'm any different than them..." she said, sighing. She wanted to be different and for a moment thought that there was a chance that she may be, due to her mother not being from her home village, though she shoved the thought away immediately. 'What would the chances of me being different be...? Wouldn't I know if I was different...? If only I could speak to mother again... Maybe she'd be able to tell me if there was anything special about me...' she thought as she stared blankly at a school of fish that swam by.{{ooc: I'm not sure but I may end up having to leave a bit early, though it depends. Alexis chuckled softly at Aoi's words. "Having legs isn't all it's cracked up to be, though there are some things I like doing," he said with a shrug as he shifted in the water, seeing the slightly glazed look in her eye and well aware she was deep in thought.

Aoi stared at the school of fish a moment longer, before she heard Alexis speaking, when she did she looked to him and tilted her head. "They aren't...? I think that having legs would be amazing... though I don't know much about them, so I guess that I wouldn't really know..." she said as she looked to the surface. She really wanted to see what having legs would be like, though she did like being the way she was. 'Perhaps there could be some way that I could chose when I want to have legs or a tail...?' she thought to herself as a single, tiny silver fish swam down behind Aoi's head and dove in amongst her long purply-blue hair, although Aoi didn't seem to notice this.{{ooc:}}

Alexis tilted his head thoughtfully. "I wonder if there's a way for someone to switch between legs or a tail at will," he muttered, unaware that Aoi was thinking that precise thing at that moment as he looked around. He blinked as he noticed a glimmer of light for a moment from the spire of rock that Aoi had mentioned she had been on earlier that morning, which made him frown slightly.

As Aoi looked at the surface she suddenly felt something flitting against the back of her neck and this startled her, though when she reached the back of her neck she felt that it was only a tiny fish. She heard Alexis mumbling something and she looked over to him saying, “You know… I was just thinking that same thing. I would have to look into it, though… Since I don’t have any idea if I could or not. I’ve heard rumors of such things being possible, but until I find out they are true I can’t hold my breath over it.” The fish that had been by the nape of Aoi’s neck was now swimming laps around her head in a playful manner, causing Aoi to giggle some. “I think that I may have a pet now.” She said as she cupped her hands and the fish floated just above them. It was soon asked by Aoi if Alexis wanted to go back to his cavern or not. She also said that she wanted to head back to the cavern too, just in case there may have been anymore shark men after her.{{ooc:}}

Alexis nodded, hearing her clearly as she giggled. "We can head back whenever you like, though the idea about going to that spire may be a good idea; if nothing else, it'll give us perspective, though I'm sure you've already seen that from there," he said with a chuckle.
As he spoke, he heard a low musical hum in the distance that was faint and muffled. He blinked, glancing around as he heard it, unconsciously recognizing it though he'd never heard it before.

Aoi was still giggling softly as the fish swam round and round her, though she still was able to hear what Alexis had to say. "I think that we can go to that spire. I do like basking in the sun and I found that's a nice place to do just that. Also, I doubt the Shark men would come that close to shore." she said, speaking more calmly. She then remembered about the box she had told him about previously and mentioned it again. She wasn't sure just how they'd get it out of the rock and sand, but she thought that maybe Alexis might be able to figure something out.{{ooc:}}

Alexis chuckled as he shifted, mildly surprised as the staff rippled with light before fading away. He was somewhat surprised to see it change into a ring on his middle finger. He shrugged as he started swimming towards the spire. "If you see where that box is, then just point it out," he said to Aoi.

Aoi readied herself to go to the spire and as she did she saw the staff turning into a ring that was now on Alexis' finger. She thought that a bit odd, although she didn't say anything as she saw him heading in the direction of the spire. She then took off after him, though only after she was certain that the little silver fish would not get left behind in the process of her swimming. "I'll do that. It was actually over this way and just a bit to the right of the spire. It's in that sandy spot near the base a few feet to the right." she said, pointing in the direction of the spire near the base on the right side as she swam towards the spire.{{ooc:}}

Alexis cocked his head as he dove down, mildly surprised to see the encrusted box buried two thirds of the way in the sand and mostly covered with coral otherwise. "That's a big box, though even if we were able to get it out, getting it to the cavern would be a challenge," he said with a thoughtful look.

Aoi dove down to where the box was and she looked to Alexis as she heard him speak. "I know... I had tried to get it out, but then I thought of how I was even going to move it. I'm not strong enough to move something like that by myself and even if some of my friends lived closer to the islands I wouldn't ask them because if there's something of value they'd want in on whatever it was." she said as she pondered on how they were going to get the box out and back to Alexis' cavern.{{ooc:}}

Alexis tilted his head. "If we could find a cable or rope or something to tie around it, perhaps we could drag it out after digging it free," he said with a shrug; he didn't want to destroy the coral if he could help it.

Aoi looked at the box all while listening to Alexis and she thought of something. "Would seaweed work if we braided it together? I did it a lot when I was running. I would actually braid it into a net to catch fish, though I wasn't always very good when it came to killing the fish... So I was usually stuck with dozens of fish and no will to take their lives... and I had to eventually either let them go or get someone else to kill them." she said. She wasn't sure if rope made from seaweed would be able to tow the box back to the cavern, but it was worth a try.{{ooc:}}
