Vyntyr felt her body growing light, as if filled from within by some substance lighter than flesh and bone. As she took each breath, she opened herself further to the Force, allowing more and more to flow into her essence. Her mind began to open and her body to disappear as she merged more wholly with the power that surrounded and penetrated her and everything else. She allowed herself to be consumed and, in turn, became less herself and more the other. The presence that she felt caressing her wounded flesh, comforting her, filled her and began to tear her blissfully apart as she was remade in its image.

She was unmade. Her entire body ceased to be as she was filled and consumed by a power that she could taste. Her skin was tickled by featherlight touches, her heart slowed, because it no longer needed to beat. Her eyes closed and rolled exquisitely back as she was overwhelmed. She felt nothing and everything all at once, and knew all at once what she needed to do. She stayed seated to savor the moment for a short while, her entire body positively vibrating with energy. Yes... She would hold onto this feeling. This was the reality of the Universe. This oneness with the Force was everything that she could ever hope for. This freedom from pain. This exquisite agony. She exhaled a shuddering breath as her body shook lightly.

Vyntyr Health: -2 Stamina: -2 Attunement: 20
Before she got complicated, she decided she'd go simple; telekinesis. One of the first powers that the younglings were trained in, and one of the most versatile powers that they would learn. To hear the masters speak of it, telekinesis was the bread-and-butter of a Jedi's arsenal. Infinitely useful both on and off the field of battle, it had as many applications as there were ideas in your head. For that reason, it was taught at a young age and practiced through adulthood, in an ever-improving pursuit of perfection. Vyntyr was definitely at the beginning of such a journey. She had little experience with the technique at all, let alone mastery of it.

Some Jedi were able to use telekinesis to move massive structures or unimaginable weights. Others focused on the finer, more focused implementations, and could perform feats of finesse and precision that were rivaled by some of the most talented artists in the galaxy. Still others were capable of great feats of combat prowess, controlling the battlefield with powerful shows of force. Vyntyr herself was more inclined toward the grand gestures one might accomplish, and decided that she'd try to start working on that today. Of course, she couldn't just start moving houses. She needed to start small.

Vyntyr remembered the talent of that Mirialan boy and was at once giddy with anticipation. To the girl, using the Force was an intense experience. Merely being in its presence was an incredible sensation. She craved nothing more that to understand the Force more completely and learn to interact with the Force more intimately. To that end, she trained and meditated ceaselessly, in the pursuit of becoming a more powerful and wiser Jedi. When Vyntyr was able, she would watch the masters work their powerful shows of the Force, and would almost go crazy in excitement. It was an uncontrollable surge of energy that she felt when she got to see those great Works, and she had never quite learned to control it.

To begin her practice, Vyntyr proceeded to the rock garden, closing her eyes and licking her lips as she felt the currents of the Force flowing around her, all of her fellow classmates hard at work, familiarizing themselves with their chosen exercises. Some were pushing and pulling stones of various weights, others running and jumping across and around the stones, attuning their bodies to the feelings and machinations of the Force as it aided their movement. And then there was Vyntyr's ilk, a small group of students all spread about, working on their powers of manipulation.Younglings of all ages practiced, some struggling to move a pebble, and others effortlessly lifting stones the size of children.

Vyntyr sat down before a host of small stones and told herself that this was as good a place as any to start. She always preferred to start small. To savor every moment as she slowly gained proficiency until she could make those grand and powerful motions that she lived for. There was nothing quite like the feeling of letting the Force gather inside you until it tore through your essence, transforming the world to fit your vision. Vyntyr could barely contain herself in those moments, the raw power of the Force gloriously unmaking her. She grew excited just thinking about it, her fingertips beginning to shake in anticipation.

But now was not then. These were the first, timid steps into the unknown. The teasing fingers of a lover as they trace new and unfamiliar patterns on your flesh. She breathed in a shallow breath and closed her eyes, beginning to open herself to those tender caresses. When she used the Force, she always felt less like she was manipulating it and more like it was manipulating her. She felt as though some warm and familiar presence was entering into her and guiding her hand, coaxing her into these manifestations as if she couldn't do it alone. And she figured that that feeling was somewhat accurate. She couldn't do this alone. She needed help, and if the Force would step in and hold her hand, standing beside her to give her that edge, she could only graciously accept its help.

It was a subtle game, telekinesis. You had to measure the power coming into you with restraint, lest you lose control of the manipulation. She started small, sendint out light, probing tendrils of energy to explore a stone and to take its measure. Once she had familiarized herself with the size and shape, she began testing its weight, concentrating her will and focusing on lifting the stone, slowly at first, and then more steadily. She soon had the rock floating at eye level, and smiled softly as the warm tickle of Force power trickled through her body. Some of the masters said that you didn't need to worry yourself with the weight of the object; that all things were equal in the Force. But to Vyntyr, size mattered. Perhaps less the weight than the volume, but she certainly noticed a difference in various objects.

This stone, for example, was about the size of her fist. And while she had no difficult time suspending it, it took some level of concentration to accomplish. her stamina was not infinite in this matter. And, as she had noticed before, it required no greater amount of power to levitate a larger object, but it did require a higher level of focus and understanding. Give Vyntyr enough time to study her target, and she could pick up all sorts of things, but reliably she was still stuck to smaller objects. So she guessed the masters were right; to them, size didn't matter. But Vyntyr wasn't a master. Not yet. Something about telekinesis spoke to Vyntyr, though. She felt a depth of attachment to this power that she did not feel in others. Even now, as she exercised the barest, most miniscule effort upon this stone, she could feel her flesh rising in goosebumps, the power flowing into and through her with a most peculiarly satisfying feeling.

She maintained her focus on the stone and began turning it over and around, subtly manipulating it until she was familiar with every nook and cranny. Satisfied, she slowly set it down and moved to the next rock, no bigger than the first. She studied this one in much the same way, until she was again satisfied with it. As she slowly allowed it to settle back to the earth, she exhaled, and realized that a small layer of sweat had accumulated on her brow, as her heart fluttered, soft and rapid as could be. She felt drained, but in a good way. She took a slow, shuddering breath and savored the feeling of blissful emptiness that filled her body. She exhaled softly, her eyes closed. "More." She wanted --needed-- more. She wanted to know everything about this ability. She wanted it to be as great as she knew it could be.

But she needed more stamina. Enraptured as she was with the ability, she lacked experience necessary to master its constant use. And so she must practice. Like a swimmer learning to master their breathing, so, too, must she immerse herself in the ocean of the Force until she might swim as freely through its waters as any fish might swim in any lake. She must delve deeper and deeper into the mysterious powers of the Force until she could wrap her mind around its core and unlock its deepest secrets. She wasn't sure why, but the very idea of knowing the Force so intimately is what drove her out of bed each morning.

Maybe it was because she felt the connection between herself and the Force so deeply that hers was almost a quest to understand herself. Or it may be that, to her, the Force was less an omnipresent force, and more an intimate, trusted friend. Someone who knew her, inside and out, and accepted her in every way. Regardless of her appearance, regardless of her presence. The Force was the only thing that didn't make excuses with her. Maybe that was it. She wanted to return the favor of that intimate understanding. She wanted to be less its master, and more its friend. A companion, who might never be parted.

Vyntyr slipped into a deep meditative state, musing on the subject of her connection to the Force, and was immediately lost in her mind's eye. She saw there a girl, an island in a sea of faces; scarred and changed from some disaster or another, permanently tainted by an exposure to the dark side of the Force, constantly fighting its pull into the depths of darkness. In this, she was not alone. She saw other faces in the crowd light up, looking out into the darkness with a mixture of emotions; fear, hope, determination. And Vyntyr, her eyes alight with curiosity, an uncontrollable need to experiment on the world around her, in an effort to turn that insight inward, to discover what was wrong with her. Why her body was broken. Why her spirit was fractured. Why her soul was tainted.

That last thought kicked her out of her own mind. She was repulsed like a blaster bolt against a lightsaber. She had mental whiplash and her eyes unintentionally opened as she took a sharp breath inward. Well that was unexpected. Why was that such a touchy subject? She didn't really know. But any time they'd ever tried to broach the subject, she'd shut down and they'd get nowhere. It was one of the real mysteries she'd always wanted to know the secrets to, but one that she was unlikely to ever know. There was a certain relief in that frustrating conclusion, though; She would never have to know why she was tainted. Why she was stained with a stink of the dark side that she couldn't ever seem to cleanse. She was almost sure that it was better not to know, and many of the masters seemed to agree with that sentiment; she should be mindful of the present and prepared for the future. The only thing you can do with the past is accept it.
