I - Little Lion Man

A part of him still couldn't believe that he was actually doing this. There was that saying that one was often best served by oneself, but this was probably taking it a little far... And part of him still thought that Nuhava was pulling his leg, that this was a joke, and she'd have a good one at his expense anytime now. The concept was just so odd and blurred and impossible in his mind - even if 'ranza had supposedly gone though it... Whatever 'it' was. His baby girl certainly seemed a bit different, but she was also still mostly the same.

At any rate, 'nangho and 'mhoko knew, Vee hadn't been explained much beyond that daddy was going to be gone for a little bit, same with Mer and Kii. Nii could get a taste of his own bloody medicine as far as he was concerned, 'ranza was likely to figure it out for herself, and Rin was still in the middle of whereever... gods, that poor boy.

But then again, this was all a cosmic joke and they'll all get a good laugh when he came back, yes ? "Where the bloody hells are you taking me, anyway ?"

Oh, if the poor b*****d could have only guessed how serious she was. She'd honestly not known for sure how this would go until he came to give her his answer, and she'd deemed him sufficiently rested to accept it as somewhat well thought out and something he'd hopefully not come to regret later. He'd already fought her plenty and proved his determination that way to so far as she was concerned, they were free to proceed.

Which hadn't stopped her for crashlanding in Keme's personal bubble upon realizing how little of the god damn process she actually knew the evening prior, but now Nuhava was the picture of serenity. Or so she thought. "Somewhere we can get some damn privacy, for one."

She'd let go of her shapeshifting once they came back to the pantheon, and she opened the door to Takeru's quarters and slid inside. More or less empty, with most busy at the mountain, and she knew Umi would heed her wishes if she came to tend to things during the time she was dealing with the wild coeurl. She'd scoped out the best room to work in and stashed what she'd need.

So this was the way she led him, carefully closing the door behind them and locking it. She had a very slight power to affect this place, at the very least. She sat on the bed then, one leg folding on top of the other. "Well, that's your last chance to chicken out, old man." Still seemed best to ask one last time - from this point on there were would be no way out until they were done.

E'rejah followed her though the... room ? House ? Damned bloody, this place was way bigger than it looked from the outside ! The decor seemed largely foreign to him. Then she led him into this room and said what she said. ...Hadn't the joke ran overly long at this point ? Still, she was sitting here, one eyebrow risen in clear challenge, and that was never a thing he could resist for long. He crossed his arms. "Hrmph. Would be a bloody waste to change my mind now. What the hell do I need to do ?"

Good little coeurl. She'd certainly have been very, very disappointing if he'd chickened out on her now. "There's a name, deep inside you. Not Rejah, not something anyone would ever have called you. A name hidden deep inside that encompasses everything you have ever been, and everything that you are." Damn, that sounded almost poetic. "It's very simple -
you give me everything you are, I give it back to you tenfold, there's a week of recovery of it because you will, essentially, die, once you give me your true name." Did he trust her that much ? It was time to find out.

Wait... die ? He didn't exactly like the sound of that. "And yer gonna magically bring me back from the dead ?"

"Not magically, per-se." It probably had to do with the true name allowing her to do whatever the hell she wanted, but well. "But yes.
And your daughter's alive and well, isn't she ?"

Well, he couldn't really argue with that. "Ah guess so. And what do I do with that name when ah find it ?"

"Well..." Lips drew up into a smirk. She knew exactly how to sweeten the deal. She was no mind reader indeed, but E'rejah was as always, pretty transparent. "You have to give it to me, of course. With a kiss. The only one you'll get, mind you, so make it count." It was both an open challenge and temptation. There was no way he could resist something like that.

With a what ???? Damned woman ! Still, he'd come too far to chicken out, and he wasn,t sure she'd even let him out of the room at this point. Bloody ******** hells, hopefully he wasn't making a colossal mistake ?

It took him quite a while until he thought he had what she meant, and oh, ho, he would make it count indeed - took her lips greedily and gave her everything he had, everything he'd ever been, and had moved to hold her on reflex when the world went black ands he slumped instead.

Oh well now ! This was about what she expected, to be honest - the impact sent her tumbling back on the bed, pinning down by that beast of a man for a moment, and if she'd been anyone else but who she was,
him colllapsing on top of her would have been a problem. It was so warm, so precious, so fragile, what he'd given her. Nuhava was in a awe for a moment - how could something so simple, so fragile hold to much power ?
But she had it now, and Strength knew she couldn't tarry. She took a piece of herself and gave it to that warm little thing, molded it, strengthened it.

No one would take her wild coeurl away from her now. She moved to return that kiss - too bad the old coot probably wouldn't remember that part, though he'd probably preen too damn much for it to be worth it. Good little coeurl, Baqi. Nap's over now,

He would come back.

He had to.

He came back to very suddenly, startled by the jarring feeling of being trust back into his own body, as it was. He'd slumped all over her, but she was already moving him as if he was a little kitten. Which he might have been, given that his limbs didn't seemed to want to work.

Baqi ? That was... That was him. Had to be, right ? He tried to say something but given the mess that actually came out, his mouth didn't want to work either.

Oh, her little coeurl would not like this part, but it couldn't be helped. She'd settled him into a more comfortable position, at least, and freed herself from underneath him. A little secret. Something just for you and I. He tried to talk again but she shushed him. Just think in my general direction. Or think at all, I suppose. This was going to be an... interesting week, that much was certain.

I've already told you. But that's of no consequence at the moment. She couldn't even begin to imagine what those few seconds had been like, for him. Just rest for now, Baqi. You can ask more questions later. He was a little mess of confusion in her head - similar to the way things had once been but at the same time definitively not. Even if she'd tried to explain all over again, it was more probable that Baqi wouldn't remember later.

Her word might as well have been law at the moment - and to be fair, he was barely holding onto his own awareness as it was. Baqi very quickly spiralled into a much different blackness - the one of sleep.

II - Lady and the Coeurl

Her little coeurl had slept though the night just fine, which she assumed was a good thing.

Too bad he snored loudly enough to awaken the dead, which was a bad thing. She'd turned out the obnoxious sound eventually, but dear creation, why. She wasn't sure exactly how his wives didn't murder him, or at least didn't sleep in another room.

Probably because he was a wonderful piece of man, to be honest. She could admit that much and be quietly appreciative - Baqi was pure, raw muscle with no waste at all, and certainly pleasing on the eyes. She couldn't deny that much.

Too bad she hadn't noticed the fact that the obnoxious snoring had atopped. Ears perked and a snort did escape him. 'ny more lovely thoughts where this one came from ? Honestly. Damn shame she wasn't willing to share, because she certainly was a piece of art herself.

....Well. That was a little unexpected. She should have known that 'everything' should have been taken literally. She did reach out for a stray pillow and smashed it on his head. There's still time to smother you, I think. Clearly she had done a terrible mistake.

That might actually have been scary if he hadn't been perfectly aware she wasn't serious. No more sweet nothings ? Damn shame, that. He tried to swat away the pillow but his arm just flopped aside instead. Which led to grumbling. Well, if you ever change yer mind...

It was her turn to snort, but she did move the pillow away since he couldn't swat it himself at the moment. Keep dreaming, old coot. If she gave him an inch, he would take a mile. It was part of what she liked about him, though, much like almost everything else Baqi was, it could be damn nuisance as well. You seem to have regained most of your wits. Im not entirely sure it's a good thing. It was, to be honest, but she'd always given him a hard time - that wasn't about to change now. She'd always meant it in a somewhat loving way - he was a determined old coot, and pretty much the only mortal constantly willing to go head to head with her while perfectly aware of who she was, and that he had no chance of winning.

Yeah, well. Mentally, at least. Things were a little jumbled and muddled, but at least he could form coherent sentences - if only in his mind. Still a little lost on what the hell happened there. But clearly not dead. Damn near useless, but not dead. He grumbled again.

Oh, my poor little coeurl. She traced a sharp nail lightly on his arm, and he tensed under her touch. Don't worry too overly much. All things start small. Even gods, after all.

Bloody woman. He'd let out a sharp breath - she was just teasing him at this point. Simply because she could, and there was nothing he could do about it. Well, if ya say so. Just not sure what im supposed to do.

You rest, as I've said. Strength withdrew then, and slid out of the bed, stretching a bit. It will take a few days for things to settle again. We can try to get you moving tomorrow, but right now I don't think that'll do you much good. Best to spare him that embarrassment if there was nothing to be gained from it. There was a fine line in between teasing and obviously mean-spritedness, and he'd given her no reason to cross it, after all.

You do need to eat, though. She knew his tastes well enough - meat, though this was mostly dried. Still meat, at least. Some of the 'rabbit food' she knew he'd tolerate. Water. There was beer, that was going to be a treat for later.

She returned quickly with a platter and used her other arms to prop him up.Up you do, little coeurl. Dinner time.

Was she seriously going to... ?!

Can you eat and not make an entire mess of yourself and my husband's bedsheets ? Silence. Though so. I know it's a bit degrading, but bear it for now. You'll be fine in a few days. And hopefully he'd come to find the advantages to outweight the temporary consequences. She could relate to his annoyance - she would certainly have no shortage of it if she was in his situation.

They would proceed with the food and water silently, though he couldn't help but find her quiet contemplation curious. Why does it feel like you relate to this ? Certainly couldn't be, right ?

Because I do. A simple truth. Not exactly in the same way, no... But I was someone else before. She saw no shame in letting him know this, at the point they were. You'll probably see bits of him if you look close enough. At least he'd mostly complied with the food - she found herself fussing with his hair a bit before she made herself stop. A nice bath might help a bit. The warmth could only do him good at this point. Then probably another nap for my little coeurl, hn ?

Another grumble. Not like im good for much else at the moment.

What a well behaved little coeurl, Baqi. She smiled.

That did get an actual growl out of him. I'll get you back for this, you know.

Of course. She'd be disappointed by anything less. After your bath, though. Then maybe I'll tell you a story.

III - Storytime

He's fell asleep quickly enough once they were done with things the day before, which came as little surprise. She'd undone his bandages to check his injury, which seemed to finally be healed. Good, at least. Baqi was snoring in that obnoxious way again, but she was doing her best to tune it out once more.

But she was curious. For all his boasting, she didn't know much about his much younger years. Things he had withheld on purpose, now she knew, but there could hardly stand to be secrets in between her and her champion now.

Won't you tell me a story, Baqi ? She nudged at his psyche lightly.

It was easy enough for her to get what she wanted - he was pretty much putty in her hands, especially so right now. It was easy to send his thoughts spiraling far, far away from the present.

E'rejah Tia had been one of his father's last children, before he'd been killed and another Nuhn had taken his place. What little he remembered was from a distant father, and his mother fared little better, when forced to sire children for a man she did not love. As a child he was but another face in a crowd, a bother for the new Nuhn to take care of.

It was how he'd ended up fleeing his own home when he was thirteen years old, vowing to return where he was strong enough to destroy the man who broke his mother so.

He'd been such a small, scrawny thing then. Hardly recognizable to be the man he had ended up becoming, if not for those bright blue eyes. All things started small, indeed. He was frowning but she would caress his cheek with one hand, trying to soothe her wild coeurl some. Well,
i did promise you a story, didn't I ?
It would be unfair to pry into his secrets and not offer up her own.

She would show him the tale of a young blonde boy, left orphaned by circumstances from an ever more tender age than he'd run away from home from. She would show him the pain, the darkness, the trials - of eventually gathering other people just like him to protect them.

He twitched a bit under her touch, but did not awaken just yet.

He had been 14 the first time he'd had a vision - he remembered that one so clearly, of the lominsan pirate captain whom he'd ended up tracking down and joining the crew of. That stunt didn't last long, but he started to learn his way around an axe from the marauder. It was when he'd started blooming into the man he had become in truth, once he became relentlessness in his training, never quite satisfied with his accomplishments.

It was two years later, when on an errand in Ul'dah, that he met up with Matoya. It was when he chased bandits away from the older witch that the crystal was bestowed upon him, and when he talked to her of his visions that he realized he was not alone, and that the woman took him under her wing, so to speak.

She could see it, all those battles, all those visions, bright and almost surreal in the rush of adrenaline. There were no primals back then, no - he would only fight primals later in his life - they fought similar things in the ascians themselves, unaware that this was a fight that they simply could not leave. They always returned, Lahabrea and the others, no matter what they did. They seemed unbeatable, but the visions urged them on. They were doing the right thing, after all.

Or so they believed.

Those years seemed to blur together, endless fight after endless fight, nothing but a haze of adrenaline. Why it had been him, he could never have been so sure. Perhaps it was the bloodlust and his base desires that made him easier for Zodiark to reach - or so he'd believed back then.

And so their noble cause was cast into question. When they found no hold, no one to listen to them, they all decided they would no longer fight for someone who did not tell them all the truth - that was obvious now, at the very least. Now free to do as he wished some more, but still feeling himself unworthy, E'rejah went on to fight in the gladiator rings for five years, amassing a small fortune. He only went defeated a few times, and it was with that in mind that he took the boat back to Limsa to fight a much different, yet endlessly more important battle, with the woman who would become his first wife in tow, now free from the servitude she had been forced into. E'mokho. He could have settled into a simple life with her outside of a clan setting, of course - but that hardly felt like enough.

His mother had long since passed on, but the man who had broken yet so utterly had not. His children where unwilling to rise against him... But E'rejah had never been his child.

The battle was over quickly, with him as the obvious victor. And that night, E'rejah made a promise - to be a better father, a better man, that his own father, or that E'zhuy had been.

It was easier to keep him going, given that he had so much more to tell than she had. It was intimidating, in a way - in a way, still, she was younger than a great deal of his own children. With little of her own past before the fading being remembered, all she had was who she had once been.

You are an endlessly better man than most. There was little contest there. Baqi had his own flaws, but his rough yet kind heart was not one one of them. Once could accuse him of holding on to his own convictions too tightly, to be unmoving, but one could never claim he didn't care.

The rest she knew well enough, was things he had been eager to brag about -- his children, fighting Titan with the company of heroes, Carteneau... though that was less bragging than an horrific tale of what felt like the end of the world.

His ears twitched again, and this time he managed to raise his hand to grasp on her own. Yer done snooping yet ? The images she had given him were... interesting. Such an odd world, so different than the two he knew. What happened then ?

This was more than Hydaelyn or Zodiark had ever told him. It was obvious now that Nuhava was completely honest in her intentions for him. It made all this quite a bit easier.

She snorted, letting go of his cheek then. Nothing you wouldn't have told me in time. Inadvertently or not. Much the same for what she was showing him now. He moved and so did she - Baqi couldn't quite sit on his own but at the very least he had come clumsy mobility back, at the very least. This would hopefully put him in a better mood.

I ended up here, much like you did. I just found myself here one day. She would show him the alley, the thug and that young woman... the blackness, and how Graff had woken up in this world instead. It's kind of what this place does... as you've gathered. What was needed, for whatever reason, tended to wind up here. I ended up doing the only thing I knew - found some orphans and took care of them.

And went to search after one that had vanished, one day... And inadvertently set herself on this fate. I've not always done the right thing. Be is as Graff or Nuhava. I've made mistakes, I've said and done things I regret. Much like anyone else. Much like Baqi himself was. Nothing to do but to learn from them and move on. And not blaming yourself for things you couldn't change,
either.

When he was stable in a siting position, Nuhava rose to get some food ready for him again. I've died once, due to my own foolish mistakes. I can't deny that. I could wallow in that, but I've decided to do my best not to repeat them.

Baqi took this in for a moment. So she had started as... a human ? Even with the images, the memories, seeing the stone... It still seemed far-fetched to think that Nuhava had once been a completely different being. Still, he couldn't help himself. So, uh... the four-arms thing...

Of all the bloody things he could have asked.... !!!! And that sure had been a bit since that came up. Nuhava couldn't help but laugh. Was pretty awkward at first. It had led to quite a few mishaps while she got used to it. And not a thing that'll happen to you, I promise. He certainly was quite dangerous as he was.

Phew. That certainly would have been an hassle, that. His tail was tapping along the bed amusedly. Highly doubt that would be a good look on me.

Probably not. You're enough bloody trouble as it is. Nuhava smiled. You do seem to be doing a little better today, at least. Once she was done she came back with the platter of food and would let him attempt to eat on his own at least.

Still entirely too bloody hard to get my limbs to listen. He was probably more likely to fall flat on his face than stand, if he'd tried. The movements were clumsy indeed, but this was easy finger food, at least.you'd think I drank a whole bloody keg.

Nah, that's for later. She smiled at his incredulous expression. What ? I appreciate good things too, you know. Even if I can't get drunk off them anymore. Which was almost a shame. You're doing well enough, Baqi. No one else gets to see you like this, if it helps. Your weirdly lanky a** adolecent self is much better blackmail, anyways.

Gee, thanks. He rolled his eyes and did his best not to make a terrible mess. He still dropped quite a few things, unfortunately.

...I guess I did need that. Just... everything. Seeing his life reflected in a different angle. Learning that things where not exactly as he thought for her,
either. ...Thanks.

Oh dear, don't get entirely sappy on me. That might be a little much to handle. She would gather the plate and the various discarded bits when he was done. ...You're welcome, though.

IV - Legends Never Die

It was a good thing she didn't require sleep anymore beyond it being leisure, to be honest. Because in between Baqi's obnoxious snoring and the fact that it just felt safer and more responsible to keep an eye out, just in case, Nuhava wasn't getting much of that at the moment.

At least she wasn't in any shortage of entertainment. It was easy to get lost in the many fight her wild coeurl had fought in his life, watch them one by one with keen interest. He might not have been a knight in shining armor, no,
but it would be unfitting not to call him a pillar as well, She had no need for the more traditional priests and priestesses - she needed wild fires, strong and unbending voices to exert her will in the times where she could not do so herself. Baqi might have seemed an odd choice, but to her he was a perfect,
precious soul. There were precious little men like him in the world.

A wide yawn would interrupt her train of thought - it was relatively easy to sit though Nuhava's sifting of his mind, but less so when she turned to much more interesting things. Careful. My ego won't fit though the door. Yadda yadda. One blue eye had opened to look at her lazily, as he said laid there, sprawled all over the bed in a way only a cat truly had a right to do.

I am pretty certain it already doesn't fit. To be honest. Seeing all these battles, though, made her wish things could have been different. That she'd met him and took him in his prime instead. Not that he had lost much of his prowess, of course - it was hard to truly believe he was truly as old as he was, looking at him - but he had undeniably lost some. Such was the way of things. The years had left its marks on him, as it inevitably did on all mortals. Strength still found it so fascinating and wonderful, the mortal spirit - those who fought so hard to reach the peek of their art, knowing that in the end it would fade away. To be the very best version of themselves they could be.

Not that it mattered much, given that she would make him endlessly more than he could have ever dreamed of being, but... Hmmm. Now that was a thought. Surely she could not turn back the hands of time, even given the power she had over him at the moment, but...

Hmmm.

Can I try something out, old man ? She highly doubted he would be displeased - who wanted to be the token old man forever, after all ? Still,
it seemed better to ask.

The second eye opened, slit pupils moving to look at her. No funny business, I hope. Honestly he knew all too well that he was at her mercy, and that he probably had little input on the matter. Still, he'd gotten far enough to hope she would choose to respect that.

No extra limbs, promise. Why was he so worried about that ? Ah, nonetheless. You'll be quite pleased, I promise. She'd turned to face him them, as he still laid there. Probably best this way, really. There were a few obvious tells that would help sell the illusion, to be honest. The white in his hair was an obvious one, and Strength let out a pleased rumble when it all vanished at her thought. Oh, interesting.

Ears were twitching back and forth in a bit of a nervous gesture then. What are you even doing ? Maybe she was just pulling his tail. Wouldn't have put it past her, to be honest. Are you just ******** with me ?

No, but if you insist... Probably best for later, to be honest.
It was easy enough to move before Baqi thought to do so, pinning him down more fully on the bed. Now I most certainly am. She purred.

In a flash, she was on top of him, two arms pinning him down while the other two reached to trace along his face - ears flattened back and every muscle tense under her touch, and he growled. "Yet asking for it, woman..."

Oh, good, he'd remembered one of this things his mouth was supposed to be doing. "Hush. Stop that obnoxious growling and let me focus." He was less likely to have anything too weird happening to him that way. Fingers continued to trace gently along his face, leaving the markings and those adorable little leopard spots intact while smoothing out the little wrinkles he'd acquired along the way, as easy as if she was smoothing out clay. Definitively interesting...

Her hands started to wander down to his shoulders. The scars certainly could remain - doubtless he would just merrily go earn himself more of them, and she had to admit it gave him some rugged charm.

Bloody woman was just getting him worked up on purpose, really. Quite typical. "Will ye bloody tell me what yer doing ?!"

"Patience." Tsk tsk. She was just about done, anyway. If she hadn't known any better, well, she certainly would have been fooled to think he was his brats' brother rather than their father. This was bound to be hilarious.
Just one last thing. This one will probably hurt a bit. Best to warn him before she began.

And she was right. Suddenly the sensation spread though his whole body, as if every part of him suddenly lit up on fire, every muscle tensing up again. "Bloody ******** HELLS." No, that wasn't fun, that wasn't ******** fun at all.

He'd been holding on to the side of the bed, but suddenly the wooden frame cracked as he squeezed tighter and the whole thing buckled under the both of them, sending a few more colorful expletives flying in the air.

Thankfully she'd been about done by the time that happened. She had actually moved down to... distract him further when she realized how uncomfortable it actually had been, before they both went tumbling down with a startled yelp escaping her lips.

Nuhava should probably have seen something like this coming - heavens know she'd broken her fair share of things when she had suddenly found herself much stronger in between changes. But somehow she hadn't, and somehow this was entirely too fitting, and she couldn't help it - she laughed. Hard.

It took him a moment to regain some sort of composure, and he huffed. "That's not bloody funny, woman !"

"What the hell are you even talking about ?" She managed in between her hysterical laughter. "Probably the best ******** thing I'll get to see all week !" He's ******** broken the side in half ! It was much more funny when it was someone else doing the accidental breaking, clearly.

Nuhava eventually managed to get back on her feet, and held out a pair of arms for him to take. Well, get up, little coeurl. Tell me how you like this. You probably need a bath, too. You're sweating like a pig.

"Gotta wonder whose's bloody fault that is..." Baqi muttered, taking the offered set of limbs. The support turned out to be needed. Something was different, like his center of gravity had shifted just enough to ******** him up slightly. Or maybe it was the leftover of what had happened before ? Hard to tell.

It took a few shaky steps before it smoothed out some. At least he wasn't stumbling all over himself like a newborn kitten like he'd have done a few days ago. Though when he reached the mirror, well...

There was a pause. Baqi stared. A lot. Uh. Well.

....Pardon ? Eyes darted from his own reflection to the goddess, who seemed pretty damn pleased with herself. Certainly not ?

"Well, not really. It's certainly not within me to turn back time." So to speak. "But I figured being the ever lasting old man would get old after awhile. Suits you, I think. Im sure your wives are going to appreciate." Heh. "But that's easy enough to change back if you don't like it. Well, beside the last thing. That's a gift you're not getting back." One hand moved to try to cover her giggle. "Broke my ******** bed..."

He had to admit... being the ever-lasting old man would get old. But this was going to be pretty ******** awkward to try to have any autority on his kids when he barely looked a hair older than they were...

Which, he suddenly realized, was probably the ******** point. "Bloody woman." That wasn't a no, though.

"Well, think about it at least. Just gotta make up your mind before we're done here." Her grin widened. "Now get your a** in the bath. Try not to break that, would you ?" Another fits of giggles. "I'll get the frame out of the way. Matteress should be fine, though."

Ears flattened again, and he would probably have found even more affront if she'd pointed out that he looked pretty damn near like Nii when he was peeved.

That was enough to earn her the one finger salute, but unfortunately that only made her laugh more.

...Not that it was a bad sound, mind.

V - A Nuhn's Place

Well, she'd finally given in, it seemed.

It was a surprise to wake up and see her curled up next to him, actually asleep - or perhaps the closest a goddess got to being asleep. Baqi wasn't quite sure. What he did know was that feeling of constant vigil that had eased now. Had she been worried something might happen to him ? ...Could something realistically happen to him, right now ?

He didn't know. It certainly felt safe enough, if rather monotonous. But sometimes that was the steps one needed to take. He moved to sit - she'd cleared out the debris of yesterday's... accident... and simply plopped the mattress on the floor for now. He'd been quick to drift off after that.

But right now the terror slept - which was an odd thing to behold, he had to admit. It made her look a lot smaller, a lot more vulnerable - perhaps more like the boy she'd been, once upon a time. This was so odd to think about, that in her core was such a young person. It did rouse something that had never quite left him, even if it probably was far from needed at the moment.

In retrospect it was obvious what she'd done. He hadn't thought she could bloody do things like that !

Oh, please. Came the sleepy mind-mumbling. I'd hardly be a goddess if I didn't pull fancy schemancy miracles out of thin air, yes ? Awe and wonder and all that junk ? This was certainly within her jurisdiction to do - well, beside changing how he looked, that is - she'd only made sure to apply it in a... more permanent fashion, that was all. It would have been stupid not to - he would need to act while she was not present eventually, that much was a given. Sometimes s**t needed done right there and then, and he might as well see to it in a spectacular way and scare the living piss out of everyone around him.

She hadn't bothered to move - not real reason to do so yet, after all.

It's just kind of odd to see you sleep... is all. He knew better than to be fooled by how she looked at the moment. She'd handed him his a** more than enough to make sure he knew better than to underestimate her in any state.

But maybe that was one of the reasons he was here. Not many years of experience backing the show, so to speak. He smiled to himself, but said nothing. Very well, then. He could do that.

Well, if you could not sleep and be doing things instead,
wouldn't you ?
Nuhava seemed content to ignore the rest of his stray thoughts - neither confirming or denying anything You're not interesting company when you sleep, is all. How are you feeling ?

He snorted. I figure so. Watching someone sleep probably wasn't that interesting. Though he'd certainly done his fair share of that, when the kids weren't feeling well.

Pretty good, honestly. A lot better, to be honest. His legs felt like they would support his own weight, at least.

His smile deepened, and suddenly he was on top of her. This was dangerous, indeed, but danger had never scared him much, hasn't it ? Of course, there is something I would love to be for you..."

Ah, yes. That was bound to happen at least once. Baqi would try to stretch the limits because it was simply what he did. Nuhava's eyes had opened, and she stared right at him. She wasn't worried - not when she could send him flying across the room if he happened to push too far. "You know that I can't." The spoken words would help draw a barrier, make him think about what he was doing. His wives might have been used to sharing and might not have minded... But.

There was no use trying to deny that she didn't find him attractive - it would have been a bold faced lie he would have seen though even had they not been connected the way they were.

"Once wouldn't hurt anything... And no one has to know, yeah ?" It was about that dragon king, he knew. Yet he'd never seen a scale of the man in all the time he'd known her. Takeru was a thing that had been mentionned once or twice, but otherwise never really discussed.

"Except the fact that it wouldn't be just once and we both know it." Easy enough to flip him back to the side of the bed and force him to let go without wounding him, since he hadn't pushed any farther. She knew that once this was settled, he would not try again... At least not for a bit. "Your wives might be used to it... But Takeru and I..."

"A specter of a man who hasn't even seen you in over a year ?" Much less ever touched her, kissed her... Was that dragon so damned arrogant that he took what he had for granted ? "When was the last time he even spoke to you ?"

"A year is nothing for immortals." He'd learn. But she couldn't deny what Baqi had homed right onto - that she missed him more than she ever let on, or let show. They used to be so close, and now she wasn't even sure what he was up to... While it was likely the Twin Crown might have called for him, wouldn't he at least leaving a message to let her know... ?

It had been harder to deal with before she'd poked her nose back in her sister's affairs. That had proved to be a wonderful distraction and a reminder, perhaps, that she had a court of her own to build.

Bloody woman. Love indeed could be blind, it seemed. "Very well." He'd abide by her wishes, both because he was not one to force himself on an unwilling woman, and because she would beat the ever living piss out of him if he did. "If you do ever change yer mind though..."

"Yes, yes, I'll keep it in mind and all that." Now she was thinking about all this again. Strength couldn't help but bristle a bit - she'd done plenty good pushing that out of her mind. "For now you need to eat, and probably a bath." There were more important things to do than wallow in self pity or whatever this happened to be.

"If I so must." Honestly... This was growing ever-so tiresome.

"Worry not, oh savage coeurl. Your torment will end soon enough." Two more days and she could let him free to go back where he belonged, until there was a need at least. Somehow she had the feeling he would be needed...
