"Morning." Sebastian replied, his voice still groggy and husky from sleep as he made his way over to the fire and poured himself a cup of the broiling coffee and sat slumped in his chair at the table. "You're up early." He said after a sip of the brew.

"I got tired of sleeping," Manga replied simply. It was part of the reason, at least. She had slept most of the day before. The other reason was that her dreams had haunted her with those she'd killed, as they always did. She wasn't like Tkal, who had become desensitized to it from doing it so long. Each new kill was a fresh nightmare waiting to scare her awake. It was part of the reason she was wearing her mask; to hide any remnants of terror left lingering on her face. "I thought I'd do something productive to make up for it."

Sebastian nodded as he stood up, coming closer to her as he did so. His amber eyes were now alert, awake, and concentrating on her. "Your singing is very beautiful, Dahlia." He spoke softly, standing in front of her. His hands lifted gently to her face, caressing just below her cheekbones as he fingered the bottom of her mask. His amber gaze searched hers, asking for silent permission, but also waiting for an unwanted reaction.

Manga couldn't prevent the faint blush from dusting her cheeks. Even with the mask, her eyes tried to avert their gaze, as if they knew exactly what would happen if they met Sebastian's. But they inevitably did, instantly trapped within that gaze. His touch at the edge of the mask couldn't help but make her smile and snap her out of her 5-second daze. "Thank you."

Sebastian let out a soft breath as he lifted the mask from her face and looked at her fully for the first time when things weren't all breaking down in chaos. He stood like that for an eternity it seemed, before Maddi came running in. Sebastian quickly stepped away from Manga, handing her her mask back and settling back at the table. "Morning, Bunny." He said with a smile at the girl, any hint of what had just transpired wiped from his face.
Maddie grinned, oblivious to the air in the room, as she settled down beside Sebastian and began copying him, taking an empty cup and pretending to drink from it. "Morning SebSeb!" She grinned.

It was as if everything else in the world vanished for that one moment. It couldn't have been more than a minute, but it felt like time itself stood still for them. But then Maddie's footsteps broke the silence and Sebastian stepped away. The blush was expelled from her face and she set her mask on the counter so that she could finish making breakfast.
Emmie peered in, staying at the threshold between the kitchen and the hall until Manga smiled over at her. She wandered over, watching the woman work. "... Manga?" The artist blinked and glanced at her. "Yes?" The Skh'et girl fidgeted before finally spitting out her question. "Is this... what families act like?" The question caught the informant by surprise. "Hm... well, all families are different. But yes, I guess they do act like this." Emmie beamed, then returned to watching Manga cook. When the woman pulled out a little jar and sprinkled its contents on the top of the porridge, she blinked. "What's that?" "It's cinnamon. It's a spice that adds flavor." "Why'd you only put a little in?" "It's a strong spice; adding too much will ruin the taste."

Sebastian blushed as he heard Emmie's question but was quickly distracted by Maddie brushing her fingers over his cheek. "Sebby?" "Yeah?" "Why are you red?" "Uhm... Just am...?" Maddie looked at him with a dissatisfied look but dropped it as Sebastian pulled out his carving. That's when Maddie started again. "Sebby?" "Mhmm?" "You should marry Miss Manga." The knife slipped in his hand an sliced into the soft part between his thumb and forefinger. "Ouch!" Sebastian exclaimed, putting the knife and carving down with a clatter and stuck the cut part in his mouth. "Uh why..?" He asked, amber eyes focusing on her. "Because if you marry Miss Manga you an her can become mine and Emmie's mommy and daddy." She stated simply.
"Um... Manga?" Manga's gaze went to Emmie again. "Yes, Emmie?" "You and Sebby should get married." Manga nearly dropped her spoon. "Why is that?" "Because you love each other and you could be our mommy and daddy." She didn't reply, distracted by Sebastian's exclamation of pain. "Emmie, can you keep stirring this for me?" Emmie nodded, accepting the spoon and doing her best to stir. Manga walked over to Sebastian. "Are you alright?"
Sebastian still hand his hand in his mouth as he looked up at Manga when she approached. "Uh.. Yeah.. Fine.. Just a little nick..." He wiped his hand off in his lap and turned back to Maddie. "Uhm..." He looked back up at Manga. "I'm... Gonna go out to the.. Uh.. Barn..." He blushed and backed away, tripping over a chair and stumbled his way to the door, going through and stumbling his way to the barn and escaping
Manga sighed and just shook her head, amused. She took over the stirring from Emmie. "It'll be done in a minute," she informed the twins. "Why don't you two get the bowls and spoons for me?" Unfortunately, with her stabbed shoulder carrying things was difficult.
Maddie nodded and went to get the bowls down, looking at her twin tat the same time to see if their plan had worked. Maddie set the table and looked back up Manga. "Manga. Ill set the table, you should probably go get Sebby so he can eats too!" She suggested.
"I can finish stirring," Emmie added cheerfully. Manga just smiled. "Alright, alright. But don't think I don't see what you two are doing." She playfully made an "I'm watching you" gesture before heading out to the barn to find Sebastian.
Sebastian kicked the side of the barn before placing a hand on his hip and the other on the framing of the building. He sighed deeply, his confused thoughts swirling in his head. He didn't hear manga approach.
Manga hesitated before closing the gap and gently putting her good hand on his shoulder. For once, she was ungloved, the network of scars there visible.
Sebastian slowly looked at her hand, before turning and grabbing her by the waist. Without a moment to over think his actions, he leaned down and softly placed his lips upon hers in a long yearned for kiss. He pulled back his face, watching for her reaction as he still held her close to him.
Manga barely had time to register what was happening before she was swept up in the kiss. Her wounds protested the sudden movement, but she ignored them. The artist melted into his hold, looking a little dazed when he pulled away. Her right hand slipped around his waist since it didn't cause her stabbed shoulder much pain, while her left went to his face. It slid behind his neck and she pulled Sebastian back to her, kissing him this time.

Sebastian smiled through the kiss and only pulled back to stop it when a giggling girl interrupted his thoughtless mind.
"Oh my gosh!! They kissed, Emmie! They kissed!" Maddie squealed from the door way as she jumped up and down in giddy-ness.
Sebastian blushed and sheepishly looked from the twins to Manga. "So you do feel that way, huh?" He asked hoarsely, still holding her close to him.
He liked the feel of her in his arms, and knew he would feel empty the moment she stepped away. She fit to his body like a glove, and he felt warm for once. It wasn't like being with the others he'd been with... With her there were no questions, just his simple feelings and her simple way. Both of them had bad pasts, and had escaped from certain death. Was that why she had hidden his existance from Derrik for so long? Whatever her reason, he was glad for it.

"Maddie! You're not 'upposed to interrupt!" Emmie seemed almost as red as Sebastian as she tried to drag her twin back inside, embarrassed that they'd gotten caught.
Manga smiled in amusement at the girls before raising an eyebrow at Sebastian's question. "What do you think?" she replied flatly, but her eyes sparkled with her obvious answer. She just let him hold her close, unable to find the will to pull herself away. Safe. Peaceful. There was an amazing sensation of security with Sebastian's arms around her. She belonged there. The only one she'd been able to trust before was Tkal, and that was after the halfling struggled to gain it. But with Seb... it came so naturally. The walls of lies and indifference she used to distance herself was just fog when it came to him. She couldn't hide the truth from him. And Manga was alright with that. She trusted him, trusted him more than anyone else she'd ever met. It was... so relieving, having someone see the skeletons of her past and love her regardless...

Sebastian grinned down at her, watching her carefully. Even though her tone was flat, he could see the happiness in her eyes, and the twinkling of some deep emotion within her, and with that, Sebastian knew, that whatever this was that he was feeling, was returned with as much heart as he had. He smiled and lightly kissed her forehead. "Why didn't you say anything, Dahlia?" he asked, her formal name rolling off his tongue in a smooth and wonderful, perfect manner.

Manga couldn't keep the smile from spreading across her face. "I was waiting for the right price to be paid," she replied innocently. She glanced down shyly, trying not to focus too much on Sebastian's muscular chest. "I was scared," she admitted softly. Scared that Tkal was right about her, but Sebastian didn't feel the same about her. Scared that she'd expose herself too much and get burned as a result. Scared that she was getting into something that she couldn't handle. But her fears had dissipated the instant Sebastian had pulled her into his arms. Her gaze went back to his, a small, genuine smile on her face. Manga loved the way her real name rolled off of his tongue, making her shiver slightly at the sound. How long had it been since anyone called her that? Ten years? Fifteen?

Sebastian grinned and lightly let her go. "Well now that I know what your price is..." he teased lightly as he unwillingly let her go. "We should probably get back to the twins.. no telling what they're getting into..." He gave a small chuckle, watching her, his amber eyes never leaving her lovely face.

Manga couldn't wipe the smile from her face. She reluctantly removed her arms from him, but just as quickly snatching up his hand. The smile grew when the twins were mentioned. "Maddie's probably waiting for us to come in so she can pester us about getting married," she decided, "And Emmie's probably trying to keep breakfast from burning."

Sebastian's eyes widened at the statement of breakfast burning and he turned back to Manga with huge eyes. "We can't let your beautiful breakfast burn!" He exclaimed playfully, grabbing her hand and tugging her into the cottage, where Maddie had been peeking through a closed window, trying to see what was going on.

Manga laughed, grasping Sebastian's hand tightly as she let him tug her back towards the house. How long had it been, since she was openly herself? Allowed herself to really smile and laugh...
Emmie beamed when the couple came through the door. "It's ready!" she announced, apparently over her embarrassment at getting caught peeking.
