"By golly, it's freezing," Mortimer mumbled, shivering and placing his wrinkled hands within his sweater vest pockets. Mittens were for people who obviously couldn't handle the cold--Pansies. He, was not one of them. But was there an inkling of desire for something warm to encase his frigid digits? Yes. Yes there was.
The elderly man glanced down at Herbert, who was as happy as a clam. His tongue lolled out of his mouth as he explored the region, never straying too far from his trainer's side. As their eyes met, Herbert gave a joyous wuff, his panting breath barely visible.
Once assured that his growlithe was unaffected by the chill, the trainer huffed, muttered once again, and shuffled towards the base of the first mountain, hoping to see one of his grand children. The last time he met one---what was her name again? Barbie? Must be---it was an amazing time. One that he wished to re-experience, if he could.
A very determined Mortimer strode up just as the Ranger was handing out the bags. Deftly, he took one and slung it on his strongest shoulder. The deafening roar of the pokemon was heard, but his eyesight was so poor that all he could see was a very undistinguished blur.
It was then that it occurred to him. Where did Herbert go? There was no hide nor hair of the daft pup. Grumbling and frowning, the elderly owner hobbled through the crowd, pushing people if they didn't move fast enough for his liking.
A head of blonde hair caught his attention however, and he stopped, squinting his eyes in order to get a better look. It sure looked like one of his grandchildren. Could it be?! It must! With a feeble whoop, Mortimer headed towards Arwen. "My boy! Wow, you sure have grown! Warms my heart to see you alive and well. How long has it been? Ten? Fifteen years? I haven't seen you since---well, since you were this small," he shakily placed his hand right above his knee. "What was your name again? d**k?"
Mortimer stared at the teddiursa, and made a shooing motion with his hands. "Go! You beast! Don't disturb my precious grandson!" he proclaimed, shaking a fist at the creature, and lightly pulling on Arwen's arm to try to get him away from the so called "beast".
Meanwhile, Herbert milled through the group, stopping to sniff someone here or there that had an inviting smell. His ears perked up as he caught a whiff of an interesting smelling zorua, and so, he bounded towards the pokemon.

Jack chuckled when the Teddyursa approached, surprisingly... Soft, the Doduo making unhappy sounds as Jack rifled in her bag, withdrawing some berries, and offered them to the creature calmly. "Easy buddy, easy." She smiled slightly. "See? Just a hungry cub. It thinks we've got food. Probably smells the berries, unless someone's got some honey."

Teddiursa gave a sad groan at being shoo'd away, but quickly found many others to sniff.
B-berries! Teddiursa quickly gobbled it up and eyed the trainer, looking for more.

"Oh, you want to be a Professor, too?" Shaun asked. "I don't think I want to go that route, seems too academic to me. Then again, I used to be an assistant to Prof. Birch in Hoenn, and he likes to research pokemon out in the field." He shrugged. "Maybe I could go that route someday. But I mostly just want to see pokemon, and get good pictures so other people can see them, too." "As for the more unusual colorations, they do seem to be more common here than other placed. I have seen them in other regions, but rarely," he explained. "Salvo was from Hoenn originally, but Prof. Birch had never seen a pokemon with coloration like him. He tried to research what might have caused it, but he hadn't had a conclusion when I left. He left me have Salvo because Salvo liked me and there wasn't any more research the prof. could do with him. There is documented evidence that markings can vary from region to region, so that in itself isn't unusual. But the coloration is more varied here than anywhere I know." Salvo tried to picture himself with a hat one, but didn't know what a top hat looked like. Instead he pictured himself with a hat like Shaun's newsie cap, which was amusing but also didn't seem like it's stay on well. <"I don't think they make hats that fit my head right,"> he answered. <"I don't really need one, though. I already have a leaf covering my face, so that keep the sun and the worst of the rain off. What more do I need?"> As for the other question, he shrugged. <"Shaun was nice to me when the Professor took care of me, and when Shaun left home to come here, the Professor let him take me along. Shaun takes care of me and I take care of him.">

"No!" Arwen emphasized, pressing back against a tree. He stayed there, even after it had passed onto another trainer, but finally added, "Maybe. I haven't seen a wild Pokémon so friendly before. Or... what if it's lost?"
Whatever it was, he hoped it would be content soon and go back from where it came from. And take the old man back with it, dear Arceus. He recognized Mortimer from before and had already tried to the explain to the old man that he wasn't related to him in any way. He couldn't believe he had to do it again.
He inhaled deeply, preparing his speech, when Parth, temporarily forgetting the camera, wriggled out of his arms to circle the old man's ankles. With a defeated sigh, he said, "...It's Arwen."

Walpurgis bobbed his head. "Yes, there are many healing plants around here - it's the reason I'm here, actually. If you don't mind me asking, what's everyone here for? I don't really see other people around here." Walpurgis scratched the emolga behind the ears as he spoke.

Cara and Tiger continued their trek along with everyone else. Observing everyone and their Pokemon as they walked. The two kept their eyes and ears open for whatever may happen upon them. "Seems like slow goin' huh Ti-WHOA!" Cara was making idle chatter with Tiger when she suddenly was sent stumbling over a creature that had abruptly made its way in front of her path. She ended up landing hard on her butt wondering what the heck just happened.
Tiger rushed to her side and growled at the Pokemon that had caused his human to fall. Cara looked over and was quite surprised to see a Teddiursa rather curiously making its way through the crowd of travelers, searching for something. Whatever it was doing, it wasn't paying Cara or Tiger any attention. "Arc, Arcanine!" Tiger barked at it, not happy with how it treated Cara.
Cara laughed and patted Tiger's head, taking his assistance in getting up. "It's ok boy, he's just very, VERY determined to get wherever he's going."

A very small smile tugged at Koorie's lips when she saw that Parthenius was settling a bit, then started to move away slowly from the seemingly growing group. The sudden appearance of the teddiursa gave her the perfect excuse to try to slip away. Miu glanced over at the doduo, sensing that the pokemon had been through a tough time because of poor breeding conditions. It brought memories from her past and she quickly chased after her trainer while attempting to push them back down. She didn't have to worry about those aweful people, her Koorie had made sure of that.

Taking her newly-purchased Doduo out of the farm gate and mounting it, Dora clicked gently to the large, hungry looking bird and reached up to pet each of its heads carefully. "There you go, pretty bird," she said to it, before looking around to see where Mordred had gone off to. "Let's find Mordred the mischievous now, shall we?" she asked, riding the doduo through the group as she tried to spy out her murkrow. At first she had no luck spying her black and white ball of trouble, but she did see the curious spectacle of a teddiursa wandering through the crowd. Well then, what was that little thing doing here? Dora frowned and hoped someone took care of it - or got it out of the way before it could get hurt, at the very least. It waswhile she was contemplating this that she finally spotted Mordred - on top of a Miltank of all things! Frowning, Dora picked her way through the crowd on birdback until she reached her goal and called out to the Miltank's rider. "Hello there - is my Mordred causing trouble? I'm sorry if so, I just can't get him to behave."

Zoran sighed, walking behind everyone with his hands buried deep in his pockets. Everyone was just chattering mindlessly. What was the point of this? He knew, really, why he was there as a member of Team Rocket, sure, but beyond that, he wasn't really sure why he was here. Wasn't there some kind of skip to the end fancy button on this rental pokeball somewhere?
He sneered at the Gastly that was tagging along with him, only to get sneered at in turn. Okay, so, perhaps they were two peas in a pod.
Zoran rolled the pokeball around in his hand, before shrugging his shoulders and putting it back in his pocket. He wasn't here to run after doduos nor was he here to give affection to little teddiursas, was he?
Though the teddiursa was rather adorable...
No, that was no thought for a Rocket to have. Rockets were tough and they certainly didn't think teddiursa were adorable! Agh...
Deciding that he would feel guilty if he didn't--seriously, what kind of Rocket did he think he was, feeling guilty for a poor hungry little bear pokemon--he vaguely flicked a berry over in the teddiursa's direction, but did nothing further.

Lexis covered her mouth, sides heaving in laughter as the elderly man suddenly and likely mistaken Arwen for one of his grandsons. She coughed, and a crackle escaped her. Ooh, this was so amusing. "I think gramps has more balls then you do," she laughed, eyes watering slightly. Lexis giggled a bit more, before rummaging in her bag and offered Jack another berry. "Try to take the ferocious beast," she sniggered again at the idea that the Teddyursa as a ferocious anything, "away from delicate little Arwen, if you would?"

"Are you alright?" Xander asked as he walked up beside the young lady that the cub tripped up. He kept glancing back at the Teddiursa with an amused look. Kotetsu jumped down from Xander's shoulders to walk beside him, peering at the Arcanine. "Eeev." he greeted the bigger pokemon.

"It means idiot." Lizzie was afraid that while they were chatting about Johto and the legendary, their Pokemon had gotten up to mischief and made someone very mad. It was her fault just as much as Remmy's, and she was going to apologize to the woman before she went from being angry to being in awe of her Lugia. "Yeah. He's mine. Though sometimes I feel like he owns me instead of the other way around." She replied, keeping a close eye on the said Pokemon. Psywater, determined to not be outmatched by a tiny candle, let out a high pitched screech that was much louder than what the Litwick could muster. Lizzie flinched at the harsh noise and the Lugia, seeing that it made his trainer unpleasant, piped down after a second or two of wailing. He had the goofiest smile on his face irregardless, seeing as he obviously won the screaming contest.
