♛ The Stepping Stones ♛ ♝ My name? ♝ ✖ Kandi "Sweetarts" Love ♝ Stick your hand down my pants and I bet you’ll feel... ♝ ✖ All male~ ♝ You legal? ♝ ✖ Adult ♝ A friend indeed? ♝ ✖ Familiar ♝ A Lullaby? ♝ ✖ Team - Lorde ♛ Be But Sworn My Love ♛ ♝ What creams your Twinkie? ♝ ✖ Oh so gay ♝ A Song In Your Heart? ♝ ✖ Plotted to Cupcake ♛ This is who I am. ♛ ♝ Actions speak louder than words. ♝ ✖ Kandi is a sassy, sarcastic, tease, who is pretty much shameless. He is excessively gay and tends to refer to everyone as 'darling' or 'sweetheart'. He really loves to act, it's his favorite past time and he spends much of his time on stage. Despite his appearance, which is rather refined when he wants it to be. He is a lower class born individual. He managed to get where he is today due to his wit and charm. However he isn't at all ashamed of where he came from, his home, or the places he likes to spend his time. He did have a point in his history where he hated the fact he was from that walk of life but that has faded over time. If given half the chance he can show someone the true meaning of freedom, or so he believes. Give them a run through the 'wilds' of the city where he lives. ♝ My very best friend... ♝ ✖ Familiar Personality ♝ What are you hiding? ♝ ✖ History ♝ Stories to tell? ♝ ✖ None Yet

He would bend over backwards to help his siblings and seems to idolize them. He cares, perhaps a bit too much, for his twin brother Ty. Regardless he seems to have a deep and unshakable devotion to him. He doesn't appear to have control over his ability to disappear. Rather he just does it when he is extremely nervous. Despite the fact his mother has tried very hard to teach him. He does however have quite the ability with bombs and acid, though he doesn't seem intent upon doing anything with either of those skills. He likes to shop and his job, which is a bit like a maid for a rather wealthy mafia head. Or at least that is what he is 'supposed' to be, though he rarely ends up doing his job. Regardless he doesn't really know who he works for which is a good thing since he has very high morals all things considered. He is a bit coddled and over protected so the 'underbelly' of the world is a bit of a mystery to him. He knows only vaguely that it exists but not it's extent. This makes him seem a bit too innocent at times. Cassi wants to make people smile, he wants to make them happy so he tends to be an extremely trusting and helpful individual. His perhaps worst habit is the act of 'friendzoning' everyone. He has never been in a relationship and if he has it his way he never will.
Unfortunately, his love for his brother, goes well beyond what it should. However his brother seems to have found himself someone to call his own. This someone is Pyrros, and while Cassi does not at all harbor him any ill will it is heartbreaking for him. While he would never tell anyone, it's hard to miss that something has him deeply upset. He tends to stay away from home, only seeing Ty when he is alone. Cassi doesn't tend to think on his brother or his brother's lover. He ignores it for the most part, because it hurts him to think about. He knows it would have never come to anything, and he knows his parents, siblings, and family would have been ashamed to find out about his love for his twin. Yet still that doesn't seem to stop the hurt currently.
He's a bit broken, underneath all that happy, behind that pretty little mask he puts on. There is a shattered individual that isn't so sure the world will ever be quite as beautiful as it once was. ♝ My very best friend... ♝ ✖ Familiar Personality ♝ What are you hiding? ♝ ✖ History ♝ Stories to tell? ♝ ✖ None Yet

Banner ♛ The Stepping Stones ♛ ♝ My name? ♝ ✖ Synveilas ♝ Stick your hand down my pants and I bet you’ll feel... ♝ ✖ Decidedly Male ♝ You legal? ♝ ✖ Quite ♝ A friend indeed? ♝ ✖ Familiar ♝ A Lullaby? ♝ ✖ Song ♛ Be But Sworn My Love ♛ ♝ What creams your Twinkie? ♝ ✖ *Cool Glare* ♝ A Song In Your Heart? ♝ ✖ Single ♛ This is who I am. ♛ ♝ Actions speak louder than words. ♝ ✖ Veil is polite, diplomatic and distant. He weaves his polite words and diplomatic attitude around himself like a physical barrier, holding people at bay and not allowing them overly close. His voice is always soft; almost never does it rise above a soft murmur or a gentle hum. He has a dry wit about him with a sort of caustic humor. There is a regal air about him and the way he carriers himself shows he has no lack of self respect. Yet, in this he does not mean to appear full of himself, but he isn’t so grand at humbling himself either. He comes across as pompous from time to time, though this is an honest mistake. While he holds himself, and his family, in high regards he does not mean to lord over others, but he has a lack of patience for idiocy and most other things. He isn’t a patient noodle by nature, nor is he overly generous. He does however enjoy a good conversation with an intellectual equal and he is capable of conceding when someone else has a valid point. Veil does not hold power of the physical sort in an overly high regard. While he himself is capable of protecting himself, he finds fighting for the sake of fighting to be a touch demeaning, and those that hunt for power merely to lord it over others rub his fur the wrong way.
Veil unfortunately gained a fractured mind from his mother. It isn’t something that is overly noticeable, nor does it rule him. There is simply a shadow that lurks at the back of his mind and from time to time it slips forward to take over his conscious. He can, at times, feel when it is coming on, and on those occasions he tends to flee to hold himself up in either his room or some dark and deep portion of the forest. He never wishes for anyone to know he has cracks in his sanity.
Veil, when under a crack, isn’t dangerous per say… as much as he is unpredictable. He is perpetually happy in a break, not to the point of crazy laughter and insane giggles. No, it’s much more subtle than that indeed. If one didn’t know the male they would say he was fairly sane, a bit out there, but sane. Veil, when in a break, is one without morals, one without restraint. He tests the limits of the very reality and it is this that makes him dangerous. He pushes the physical and mental limits of whatever is around him, or if alone, himself. It is nearly impossible to call him back from a bad break, but if the crack is small enough, it is possible to pull him from it. The breaks in his sanity are an extremely well guarded secret of Veil’s.
Avarice is one that he loves deeply with all his heart. He finds her to be of such regal beauty that, in a way, she is almost more of a mentor to him than a mother. Still, he loves her as his mother and he admires her greatly. He never wishes to disappoint his mother and it would crush him if she ever found out about his mental instability. He never wants to upset her, and thus does his best to play the good boy. He wishes to be able to manipulate the world around him like she does. Her charm and wiles is something he respects greatly.
Deimos he holds in a high regard. The strength with which he carries himself and the air of power that surrounds him is something Veil has always held in high esteem. His father is part of the reason he holds those that lord their power over others with contempt. As far as he is concerned, his father uses his power to protect his family, and there is nothing wrong with that. While Veil holds the same chilly air about himself that his father does, he does not strive to be like him. Rather, he works to make his father proud of him because of his own merits. He admires his father, but he does not walk the same path. He tends to turn a blind eye to his father’s cruelty, choosing to not comment on it.
He has the slightest touches of middle child and only boy syndrome. He does not wish to fade into the background due to being the middle child, and thus holds a slightly one sided rivalry with his sisters. Though still, he treats them with a gentle air and feels no one is good enough to be in their presence. Thus, it leaves him with a slightly overprotective feel about him. He doesn’t want his sisters hurt, and this is one way to earn yourself a taste of his violent side. He is aware that they can take care of themselves and they do not need to be coddled, but one does not get away with harming his family. Otherwise, he tends to let them do their thing and stay out of their business. ♝ My very best friend... ♝ ✖ Familiar Personality ♝ What are you hiding? ♝ ✖ The sun hung like a heavy ball in the sky, bordering on making it too hot and leaving one wondering what had happened to winter. Had it ever been there at all? There was little cloud cover and even the breeze seemed lazy, offering little relief against the warmth. Perhaps it was this that drove most kits outside to play, as a warm spring day was the best. There were many things to be discovered, many adventures that could be had. However, despite this, Synveilas sat in the shadow of the doorway, watching with a cool gaze the others that drifted about. The beams of light drifted around him, catching in his fur and glinting in the same way they would his mothers. He took no note of this however, he was much too busy turning his nose up at the dust particles around him. He could see them, now that the light had illuminated the area around him, and it made him feel dirty. He extended his wings and gave them a gentle flap once, sending the particles around him swirling with the sudden wind.
He gave a soft huff before standing. He wasn’t sure why he was so agitated, yet there was a quiet sort of muted agitation about him today. He made his way from the building, walking with a grace that didn’t seem quite right on a kit. Kits were supposed to be fun loving and growing use to their growing paws and legs. Not Synveilas, he swept past with a quiet refinement. Veil did not turn today to smile at those he passed, instead he merely inclined his head to those that spoke, but otherwise he did nothing.
Veil found himself drifting unrelentingly towards the woods. He had been in them before, of course. Not too deep, just into the first outer little edges. Today, however, he found that as he stepped into the cool shade of the trees, something drove him deeper. Perhaps it was that childhood love for adventure he never seemed to posses, perhaps it was the cool darkness the foliage offered, whatever the case, he wound up walking farther than he had before.
Veil had at some point fallen into thought, his mind going to roll over the thoughts of true mates once more. There were still many questions he had about such things, and there was a part of him that didn’t much care for the thought. It was something that was brought up often in his family, and one he had spent the better part of his days thinking on here as of late. He was so lost to his musings that he almost missed the snap of a twig, almost. His ears twitched and he stilled in his movements, paw lifted in the middle of a step. His ears drifted back and forth, attempting to catch the sound of something out of the ordinary, his tail stilling and his foot dropping softly back to the leaf covered ground. He stood like that a moment, poised and listening before the soft rustle of bushes caught his attention.
His head shifted to look towards the new sound. His heart picked up its pace the smallest bit and a sort of unreasonable fear settled itself in his chest. He turned in a small circle, looking around, and it was then that something occurred to him. He didn’t know where he was, and he wasn’t sure which way was back the way he had come. There came another snap of a twig which made him cringe and lower himself to the earth. He felt the first tangs of fear which made him wrinkle his nose and step backwards under the bush nearest him.
He shut his eyes and drifted into the depths of his own mind. Veil tried without success to quell the fear and panic that was rising in his chest; he was to remain calm. So caught in his attempts to quell his panicked heart was he that he did not notice the shadow that crept forth from his own mind. He did not fight, could not begin to understand how to fight that shadow back. He was unaware of how to battle the cracks that split his psyche at this point. Thus, as he was huddled there under the bush, he did not realize until it was too late that there was someone… something taking hold of him.
Veil lifted his head and a smile curled his maw as he drifted out from under the bush with a rather cocky air about him. He bounced about for a moment, looking this way and that, before he skittered up the nearest tree to look around himself. He used his wings to balance as he glanced around before launching himself from the tree to glide back to the ground. It would be dark soon, but that wasn’t so bad. Mom and dad had his sisters to contend with first… they would hardly notice he was gone.
He bolted through the underbrush, zipping back and forth like a speed demon. His natural state of being was one far different from this, or perhaps this was his natural state of being and that other one was the crack? It was hard to tell, and at this point he didn’t much care. Synveilas was enjoying the feeling of being rampant; his normally tight hold on himself had no place here. He was unsure how long he ran, just that after awhile his muscles began to scream and his lungs burned, and still he pressed on, pushing himself to the very limits of his tiny body.
Only when he could not move, when his paws would not lift themselves any longer, did he stop and slump down, a smile on his face and a happy song in his heart. He flopped against the base of a tree, his tail twitching back and forth in pleasure as he watched the world around him. If one didn’t know the male, had never met the male before, they would say he was merely a very happy and active kit. It was hard to tell he was fractured at all if one didn’t know how he normally acted, and even then it could be explained away as a kit finally letting himself go.
Veil glanced up at the sky, his tail still wagging. It was dark now and he was tired, so tired. He should sleep and perhaps… make his way home later. Why? Oh right, mom and dad, and it was safe at home. He gave a bark of laughter; he wasn’t scared of the woods at night. He would show his parents just how brave he was, he would sleep out here tonight and return to them on the morrow. He settled himself down, his tail twitching and flicking with pleasure. Sleep did eventually come to the kit, pulling him under into an almost dead like sleep from which he hardly stirred.
He was sitting with his mother, speaking with her about something. He wasn’t sure what for, he had forgotten the conversation the moment a drop of water hit his nose. Veil glanced up; the sky was clear… blue with rolling white clouds. Strange that he would feel wetness and rain at such a time. He watched the sky for any changes, but none seemed willing to come. For a long moment, he did not notice that the world around him had faded, or that the edges of the sky he was looking at were slowly drifting into nothing. It was only when he noticed this that he was capable of pushing himself from the dream like haze that had settled into his mind and towards the waking world.
The first thing he noticed was that it was raining and he was outside. This left a strange feeling in his stomach as he opened his eyes and realized that he was in the depths of the forest. His head snapped up so quickly he felt something pop. “Why am I… still here?” It was a whispered question and one he didn’t expect an answer to. He remembered walking into the forest, and he remembered the snap of a twig and the bush, but it grew fuzzy and eventually nonexistent after that. He shook his head and pushed himself to his feet, his muscles aching and his body sore. Just what had he done to himself yesterday?
He wasn’t sure where he was or how to even begin to find his way free of the forest. It was raining, and thus any scent trail he could have hoped to follow was gone. He vaguely wondered how long he had been gone from home, and if his parents were worried and looking for him. He almost doubted it… they did have his sisters. He shook his head as he began walking in a straight line. His fur was clumped and dirty, he was wet and hungry, and still he walked with a pained grace and an air of impudent dignity about him.
He wasn’t sure how long he had been walking, how far he had gone, when the sound of his name on someone’s tongue brought him to attention. His ears flicked forward and he was just about to call back when his father stepped through the underbrush. Most children, after being lost a day in the woods, would have run instantly to their father. However, Synveilas merely hung his head and stepped over to his father in a quiet way. He stood at a respectable distance before leaning forward to nuzzle his father’s forearm in greeting.
There was nothing but silence on the trip back. A calm understanding that they would talk when they reached home. Thus, it was nearly an hour later that he found himself wrapped up in his mother’s arms as she went on about her frantic worry as his father paced the space before them. Veil was a bit shocked that they had both been beside themselves with worry. He watched them both and listened as they explained that he couldn’t go running off like that anymore. He was sentenced to house arrest for a week, and while this was supposed to be the punishment, it wasn’t. The greatest punishment Veil knew was the looks of disapproval on his parents’ faces. He swore to himself then that he would never bring that look to their faces again. ♝ Stories to tell? ♝ ✖ None Yet
