Again he judged the amount of damage that would have hit the box by playing a second A chord. A slight scowl reached Roch's face as he realized this one would have been a bit less powerful than the first. Of course, he thought as he looked at the box, that didn't keep it from having the same HP as a Knob.

Terra, on the other hand, was torn between looking at the teacher and staring at Roch's guitar. She looked a little sparkly eyed, which she was ashamed of, because one should not fanghoul over ones enemy big brother! But on the other hand, it had been very, very impressive to her.

Although rather loud.

Rich channelled his FEAR into the wrong thing..

"I said visualize." Cricket suddenly reminded Roch, unphased by the noise. "Attacking your kit will destroy it."

For Terra, Cricket took a moment to consider her inquiry. "I have never actually had to use it underneath those conditions." she confessed. "Perhaps we will have to try an experiment with that. I want to say that it would hold onto water vapor, however."

Millie tried again. Getting her mind still enough to concentrate on this task wasn't easy for her. It's just like Esu. she told herself. Just channel your fear like you do with Esu. She felt her FEAR flow through her, but remained as still as she could for fear of messing up and breaking her own concentration.
When she could no longer feel her FEAR moving within her, she opened her eyes and looked at her kit. Had it worked?

"Oh... y'mean like putting FEAR into a pumpkin?" Roch said as he scratched the back of his neck. "Whoops." He headed forward to grab a new kit, heading back to his desk, where he held the guitar in one hand and touched the kit with the other. Then he summoned his FEAR to the fingers touching the kit, much like he would summon it to the fingers playing his guitar.

"I would very much like to see what happens!" Terra said. "Water, it is very precious where I come from, and can be very important in healing, no? Much like the saline water you told us of!"

And Roch was so busy listening to the conversation that he failed his first attempt. Good job, Roch, good job.

He cursed and took a deep breath, closing his eyes for a second as he tried to imagine the kit being the neck of his guitar. And he failed again, because, seriously, he'd just screwed up and used a LOT of FEAR trying to use his guitar. With a groan he let his guitar dissipate, leaning back in his chair and staring at the ceiling as he waited for his body to recharge.

Millie felt like cheering. After her earlier unsuccessful attempt, this one had seemed to work. Could she do it again?

Millie closed her eyes again and felt her FEAR move through her. This time, she knew it was working.
When her FEAR became more still and she found it harder to channel, she opened her eyes and examined her kit.
It looked stable enough to her.
That was easier than she thought it would be. Perhaps already having the ability to channel her FEAR into an object made it easier.
Gathering her things, Millie left the classroom. She was quite excited to have her new kit.

After a moment *and a candybar that disappeared before he could be yelled at for eating in class* Roch reached out again, summoning his guitar and touching the kit with his right hand, his FEAR rising in a decent manner.

The first layer of the FEAR shield was applied. Not as prettily as his FEAR channeled into the guitar had been, but decently enough.

Roch focused--he hadn't trained like this since his first year, he thought with amusement. His hand touched the kit, almost lightly, and he summoned his FEAR a second (or hell, way more than that, considering) time, and gently poured more FEAR into the shield.

It wasn't quite as good, he thought when he was finished, but it was done. The box's shield was ALMOST as strong as a knob's FEAR shield. He finished putting things in and looked at his "sister" wondering when she would stop chatting and actually do her work.

Roch's kit: 38 hp.

"Water has many uses. I cannot tell you an exhaustive list of this," she held up the chalk, "use, but I will always supply help and means for well thought out investigation."

Within reason, that was.

"Si! I will think on the best way to test this theory!" Terra said excitedly. Then she glanced at her kit. "Ah, yes, I will do my work now," she said, flushing as she realized she'd been chatting while she should have been working. Hesitantly she bit her bottom lip, looking around.

"Summon your weapon," Roch said quietly, almost silently. "It'll make it easier. Then touch the kit and think of it like your bow." Terra glanced at him, nodding slightly (more help from the enemy, she was not una nina! She could do this--

Terra didn't do it. Nothing happened the first time, much to her embarrassment. It didn't help when Roch turned towards her, resting an arm on the back of her chair. "Focus," he said. "Picture the FEAR dancin' on your fingertips, what color is it?"

She couldn't see what color it was, blast it! Why was he asking such strange questions? But she tried, forcing more of her FEAR to her fingers, trying to make it show up.

Barely, ever so barely, she felt FEAR leave her and surround the box. Her eyes lit up, though--this ghoul had NO experience with manipulating FEAR like this whatsoever.

"Good job," Roch said. "Now do it again."

"I can do this without your help, hermano," she told Roch, pushing him away. She had done it the first time! Well... second time. She would do it again! She stared hard at the kit, her hand tightening on the neck of her violin as the other hand touched the kit. Slowly she took a deep breath, letting it out, then started picturing the FEAR dancing on her fingertips once again.

White, she decided. The FEAR would be white, which was why she would not see it, only feel it. She almost bounced when she felt it work. She could do this! Well... sort of, she thought, glancing at Roch's box with a hint of jealousy.

Malodore flinched when Cricket abruptly destroyed the first-aid kit; while the plague doctor knew its mentor was capable of defending herself, it was so used to her role as healer that to see her attack was rather startling. Still, it could definitely understand her logic - and her further explanation was extremely interesting. The idea of using its FEAR to shield something else, well... it was familiar with the concept of the Barrier, though that was not a FEAR skill the plague doctor itself possessed. This seemed a bit different, though. Starting with an object... that in and of itself would have no FEAR that its own FEAR would interact with...

Well, practicing would help. Malodore carefully arranged its kit in front of it, then spread its claws over the kit. This was not the same as healing nor attacking; this was something entirely different. Still, the fact that it was used to manipulating its own FEAR externally seemed to help - it felt the shield form against the box.

"Infermiera... this shield will hold once placed, until destroyed by force? Or will it vanish without concentration?" it asked, carefully rapping at the box with one fist.

Malodore's question was another of those well thought inquiries that the nurse seemed to like - or perhaps having her mentoring students make inquiries was pleasing to her.

"Your own shield does not wane from a lack of concentration, nor will the one you create." she answered. "This shield is so you do not have to think about it breaking under times of high stress."

The plague doctor nodded, and relaxed slightly, releasing its concentration. It was an odd feeling, since the way it had been taught to FEARheal required intense attention, and letting go - as it were - felt wrong somehow. "Grazie - another question, ah... this technique, this can be used on objects only? Encasing a living being in FEAR would seem inadvisable..."
