"Noice~" Hazel nodded to Jordan with approval. She wasn't sure if the crap she had grabbed would have looked like a pile of mush in a jar, but hey, as long as we have a centerpiece! "Thanks for helping, Jordan. Your idea worked great!"

Hazel took one good look at Rep, "Hey! I know you!" Last time she remember seeing him was his back and the back of his head as he was carrying a magical tablet. "No, no. Not banana," she pointed at the centerpiece, "BANANA!" she gestured to Otto.

When Jerry began to play his magical ukelele, her expression soon turned to terror. No. NO! The Necromancer is doing his magic! There were no dead bodies in the room (yet), so that was one good thing... Jerry couldn't raise the dead but then her eyes shot over to the kitchen. Hopefully, his magic doesn't effect the food. But the tune was catchy and Hazel did know the song, though she didn't know the lyrics except for the chorus.

She was surprised to see Otto was actually joining in. That helped wipe her concerns about the magic ukelele and decided to join in. Instead of singing, she pulled out a comb with a bit of wax paper and began to play the tune... There might have been some forced humming though.

Jordan finished rescuing the napkin turkeys from where Jerry had dropped them in his sudden musical spasm, then slipped over to where Rep was standing. "Do I get any?" he inquired with a sidewise smile, indicating the bottle. The party was going well so far.

Otto actually knew this song, and it was even a song he liked. He worked the drumming as best he could considering what he had to work with, lightly shaking his head in amusement. But when jerry started changing the lyrics, he cracked a brief smirk. Okay, this was too good.

He actually kind of wanted to add a verse too. Ah, but singing in public was...

<

Otto had a feeling Tenya would distract his drumming if she kept begging, so he obliged.

"Did you fill out a mission report and are the dorms rooms fallin' apart?
Guess we gotta fix'em up again~
Now we're killin' time n' makin' ryhmes, till canned turkeys are lookin' fine.
Rep. ya brought way too much booze~"

Rep followed Hazel's gestures from the centerpiece to Otto and did his best to keep a straight face as he tried to figure out what exactly she could mean or where such a..specific nickname could have come from. He resisted the urge to ask.

It felt fantastic to be in a decidedly beneficent mood for a change, not at odds with the world and everyone else around him. As Jordan joined him he actually slunk an arm about his waist to enthusiastically tug him nearer, offering him the still mostly full bottle. "Like you need to ask."

And caught the end of otto's verse, grinning wolvishly.

"No such thing as too much!"

Surprise, surprise.

Leon hated parties revolving around food. The hatred toward those that filled their bodies with unfathomable amounts of starch and carbohydrates just made him ill at times. Thanksgiving was no exception. Always the same food being put out. over buttered mashed potatoes dripping with fatty gravy, piles and piles of biscuits and stuffing that relatives loves to shovel in their mouths like some kind of backhoe. Leon should still feel his stomach revolting at the mere thought of what table manners he was about to soon witness.

But still, the life trainee pressed on to the mess hall and noted its decor for the season and placed his gift on the serving table. One freshly baked Pumpkin pie, it was one of the very few desserts he could tolerate, mostly due to the fact that it wasn't some sort of sugary as hell pastry.

Why he walked in wearing no shirt and some type of colonial period breeches, he didn't want to talk about further. "Found it in my closet." was the simple reason as he brushed away the imaginary dust on the tight fitting garment. The fact that it was, once again, the ONLY piece of clothing in his closet went unsaid.

Jerry's heart swelled as the sudden buzzing from Hazel added winds to their impromptu band, and when Otto started to sing along and Rep was Laughing...

He lifted a foot up onto the folding chair as he strummed away, singing out,

"A great man once said to me, you gotta be what you gotta' be,
We drink to those who left us here, and future victories we all cheer.
Being a hunter's pretty tough, but at least tonight we'll al get stuffed-"

And we'll be singing-!"

And there was that face. That face that said you all better be singing along...

"Bye, bye, this delicious pie!"

"We appreciate the invitation and your hard work," Eva echoed the other young woman, flashing Melvin a grin. At the offer of more help, she began to shake her, only to pause and c**k her head to the side when the sound of music reached her ears. Was that...?

The girl began to laugh when she realized that it was Jerry, Hazel and...Otto of all people who were responsible for this music. And when the blond began to sing--man, if only she had a video camera. In the end, she was more than happy to stand back and watch, soaking in the atmosphere.

"This is nice, huh?" She murmured, to the two she was with, lifting her brows and grinning at them. It wasn't often they were allowed to relax like this, and she was going to cherish it while she could.

Jordan looped his arm around Rep's waist, surprised and pleased; Rep really was in a good mood right now. He accepted the bottle and took a drink - not much, wary of his low tolerance - then handed it back. "Thanks," he said, and gave Rep a soft, genuine smile.

When he realized that Jerry was changing the lyrics on the song, he laughed and joined in on the chorus; this was silly, but hell, they could all use some silliness right now. He'd had enough sadness and drama.

Harrison had finished setting up the chairs by the time Rep returned with a whole sackful of what had to be...most of his stash. It broke his heart that they weren't going to turn even a minor profit for it.

The Thanksgiving stripper made up for it, sort of.

He situated himself on Jordan's other side, kissing his cheek and intercepting the bottle.

"Happy Thanksgiving, everybody. ...Hey Melvin, we got anything to put on the table besides beer and tableware?"

Melvin walked to the door to look into the next room, watching everyone have a sudden Deus Musical as they singed one of the oddest songs. Don Mclean was rolling in his grave somewhere and Melvin watched as he pressed his lips thin, debating if he should be upset at the ridiculousness or just happy no one was killing each other. He settled on the later and then glanced over to Harrison.

"We'll start bringing things in. The rest is still being worked on but should be done in a bit." From what he heard in the kitchen, most everything was close to having their timers ding.

"Seems we should start setting up the table." He looked to everyone in the kitchen. "Whatever is done, go ahead and bring it out." He moved and started to help out.

Quote:
Attention people in the kitchen: It is now assumed most everything is done. Start bringing your stuff out to the tables and setting them down. If there is anything your cook is proud that they made, describe it! Time to puff that cooking chest of yours and don't bother being modest. OuO

Marcus had said he'd be willing to help, but what he hadn't counted on was yet another call to repair part of the labs. It was a several hour long patch job, as whatever the life techs had thrown at the wall had basically eaten through the support beam in that section. Marcus had been on his feet since the first call, and now that the work was 'done' for the day he was allowed to leave and do as he wished.

And at that point, he wished to maybe help out, or just eat food. A quick shower later, (helping make him feel less drained too), and he was on his way, when he arrived to singing. "Somehow it wouldn't be a holiday without singing." Off or on key, singing had just become a thing.

Leon got a long slow stare as he arrived at the party. He might have noticed the pie, if it wasn't for, you know, the fact he was dressed like he'd just gotten back from an amish hen party.

The song washed around him, the steady buzz of alcohol even more steadying against the tide of his usual self concious shame and discomfort. It was nice. Jordan singing along only made him smile all the more.

"You guys man. You guys are all ******** mental."

He gave Jordan an extra squeeze before wandering back to the bag of booze, fishing out another bottle, some kind of strong tropical rum, which he opened and sipped, because apparently waiting for the other bottle to come back wasn't efficient.

At the call to the kitchen, he smirked, really ******** keen to see what people managed to scrape together at the last minute.

Rin had turned bright pink as she tried to ignore the ridiculous yet catchy music blasting through the area. She had since moved on to silverware. Making sure every place had nice clean and correct pieces to eat with. Each one almost exactly .5 inches from the last. It was her way of showing her appreciation, she guessed.

Once the final fork was set she stood back to admire her hard work then peer around at the crazy merriment. It was then she spotted Sasha. She looked... bothered by something? Perhaps not that extreme but she sure as heck wasn't smiling and joining in. Rin waved her arm hoping to get her attention.

Sasha brightened slightly when she caught sight of Rin. The music had been more grating than anything, and she'd been tempted to make a second attempt at escape. When Rin waved at her, Sasha made her way to the other lifer, offering a slight smile.

"Rin. I'm glad you're here. Do you need any help?"
