[rollin on in]

Just when the shambling parade of returning hunters became few and far between, when it looked like there really might not be anyone else returning, Mimsy's body came tumbling through.

There wasn't much force behind whatever caused her to finally get through that portal: she just flopped over once and came to a sprawled halt. What appeared to be some sort of footprint was smeared into the hip of her coat in blood, but it didn't seem to be her own - most of her injuries were minimal, scrapes and bruises and something on her knee that was covered with a stained bandage. All of the jostling that came from being pushed through the portal only elicited an especially grumpy expression.

There was a heavy weight on her chest, which might have been tidily metaphorical if she felt any amount of turmoil over the events of the mission, belonging instead to a weapon tablet. One arm was loosely curled around it, though that was more an accident than subconscious decision. Had she been awake and alert when everyone left, she probably would have just dropped Svensyl on the ground without a second thought; it was better for both of them this way.

She didn't move, but she was breathing. And still frowning as hard as she could.

((ENTERING))

It wasn't long before the next one was heaved through.

Szczeosny came to a slow stop after lightly colliding with Mimsy, glasses completely askew. The same bloody print was visible on the back of his jacket, obscuring the top of the embroidered life division tree. The rise and fall of his chest was the only sign he wasn't on the casualty list. Aside from a grey bandage around his arm and a medley of minor cuts, scrapes and bruises, he didn't appear to be dying of anything right away.

His arms had been wrapped around a tablet, but in all the jostling they had started to loosen their grip. The longer he was lying on his side, the faster gravity could do its sinister work. The tablet slowly slid from his unwitting grasp until it hit the floor with a soft 'clack'.

He didn't even twitch.

Jordan looked up when he heard Allan's voice. Maybe the Sun lead would know something, be able to tell them something, whether that something was a glimmer of hope or a death sentence.

When they return --

When. When, not if, and there was the faintest, slightest flicker of something from the tablet Jordan held, a suggestion of presence and familiarity before the stone went cold and dormant again. But it was enough. Ferros wasn't dead, wasn't permanently gone. He was only sleeping again, and the raw, ragged, aching hole in Jordan's mind and self was something that only needed to be endured until Ferros could wake up and return to his place again.

He was a Sun. Pain was finite. He just had to hold on and keep going and push through it. His shoulders shook with a silent sob, and then he took a deep, gasping breath and slumped against Harrison, the terrible, wire-taut tension going out of him all at once. "Sorry," he managed.

When he looked for Allan again to thank the man, Allan had gone. Later. Hell, once he could, he'd find a figure Allan didn't own, never mind that that was probably near impossible. Impossible things were their specialty.

Jerry was singing again, and Jordan smiled a little; but this time it was a real smile.

Rep was still struggling, trying to restablish control over himself, shoving the lingering emotions aside until he was better equipped to deal with them, trying to work through them had only resulted in despair getting the better of him. He ached so much, even breathing made his ribs hurt with every intake of breath, ******** dogs and their ******** lightning. He was completely useless to help Jordan, not even able to help himself, capable only of looking on blankly. It was an awful feeling, he wanted Jordan close but it would have to wait till they were all back in private and they weren't a danger to their respective self control.

And then Sasha arrived. Unhurt, most likely not even on the mission, and his stomach twisted in resentment and loathing. Of course she only showed up when he was at his lowest, showed up apparently only intent on gloating at Jerry. Jerry, wether the other man was aware of it or not, was classed as a friend in Rep's mind, and watching a friend and a fellow Sun hunter get twenty questions from that b***h made him seethe, and there was no Tracey to tell him to calm it, the hate rolling unchecked. It was almost satisfying, letting his resentment wander into entirely unreasonable places. Yeah, she'd come to gloat, she'd probably evaded the mission intentionally, cunning b***h, all women were cunning, sneaky. Hell, they'd been tricked by a b***h in the insanity too. Women. And Jerry couldn't even speak to her.

He opened his mouth to say something, to give her a real piece of the anger he was carrying around when a decidedly roughed up Allan showed up. He closed it again.

Even in his moody state his attention was rapt on the sun leader, even in the depths of despair carrying a burgeoning hope that if Allan was okay everything would be. As always he hung on every word, pride in his division and in the job they had to do carrying him on. They weren't being told that they would be podded or sent home, they were told to be strong. When they return.

It was exactly what Rep needed to hear and for just a second he could feel the tablet in his arms stir and it was almost enough to make his walls crack again, this time with bubbling joy and relief. Hope. Hope was what you could live by, like oxygen to a suffocating man, he could breathe again. There weren't words to express the gratitude for what he had given them. The separation could be managed if he could live in hope that he would have Tracey back in his thoughts again

The hate he'd mustered together on Sasha's arrival was gone, as he watched her leave, replaced by an odd sort of sadness. Sometimes he wondered if he had some hand in the way she was these days.

His own tight grip on Harrison eased and control seemed to return to him, the stormy seas of emotion finally levelling off to their usual places. He could be patient when an end was in sight. All that was left was a tiredness that ran bone deep. He didn't know how many charges he'd used up since fright night. Too many. He leaned his chin on Harrison's shoulder. "Can we go to bed?" he murmured, words slurred by the limited mobility of his jaw. Maybe they'd wake up and all of this would just be some Halloween candy induced nightmare.

Tori saw Jake leave and maybe later sometime she would have to track him down just to make sure he was alright or something. Since she thought it was the least that she could do.

Feeling sorta better when Sherry returned the embrace, it made her feel at least a little less lonely and she even smiled just a little when her friend had called her name. "I'm glad that you made it as well," Tori replied her heart broken losing two that she very much cared for.

“I really do think they will be, Sherry. I really do want them to be...” Tori answered as she pulled out of the hug even if she just wanted to keep on hugging a reassurance that she wasn’t alone. “But who know how long…” she was going to say more along the lines that maybe there weapons might not come back. It was something Tori didn’t want to be true so she didn’t say them out loud. “All I want is things to be set back in time were none of this happened. As I wasn’t ready to give up any of my friends at least not yet,” the lifer said as she started to cry a little.

“Before becoming a Hunter, I was so alone even if there were others around. But here on the island I found myself not truly alone any longer and I liked that and I just don’t want it to be taken away since I really hate being alone,” Tori said as she petted her smoking tablet since she never thought that Aklin could be taken from her in such a way. She didn’t like being alone in her headspace and always thought Aklin would always be there.

Knowing that later on Tori would have to find her other friends to make sure that they were still around. But right Tori was content in staying with Sherry so long as the other girl wanted her.

"I also don't want to relive all the hurt in losing someone close to me, it just so painful and I don't want to remember the past of losing my Ceri..." Tori said as she leaned into Sherry crying.

"You're right," they'll be fine. Sherry sniffed a bit, a small sign that her tears were finished for the moment. "They'll be fine. We just have to wait." It had to be true. It just had to be.

"It's too bad we can't turn back time, but 'what doesn't kill us makes us stronger', that's what Armagnac would say, anyway," Sherry lightly touched her tablet. "It always hurts to lose someone you love, but...it happens, I guess. Just part of the sacrifices we make. Even though it hurts. But, those are the people we are fighting for, isn't it?" It was the only way Sherry could justify it, after all.

She was quiet for a long moment while Tori told her story. She returned the lean, and gave the other girl a small, reassuring pat on the hand. "You're not alone. I made it, others made it, and soon everything will be alright again. And, and as long as we are all strong enough, we'll all make it."

Sherry half expected Armagnac to jump in with some word of wisdom to squash that happy little little hope, but of course, the weapon said nothing.

"It'll be ok, somehow," Sherry sighed, knowing they were words she couldn't prove. She just really didn't know what else to say.

Blade Kuroda
BAI DERYK, Sorry it took so long :[

Minerva stood along side the other hunter, her slow and methodical movements done to ensure Deryk had the stability to stand on his own. The nod was acknowledged with a small, defeated smile that lingered even after he had gone. Looking around the area Minnie knew that the most she could do for anyone else was what she had tried to do for Deryk...and it, however kind or appreciated the gesture, was simply not enough to ease the pain.

She turned on her heels and remained on site, passing out water where it was needed. No more questions were asked, since the answers were pretty clear...she just walked, handed out goods, and held on to the same fleeting smile. Before long she found that most everyone left standing had already been tended to, or were currently being helped, and without a word she placed the remaining items within a medical tent and returned to the main building.

At some point they would be briefed. Minerva didn't know how much the higher-ups intended on revealing, but she hoped some of her questions would be answered. For now, she would have to come to her own conclusions.

And busy herself with some sort of work.

Tori really wanted to sniff but she didn't want to have to refix her nose if it rebroke. But Tori at least she was done crying for the time being. "Yes they are, but waiting is always the hard part," she answered stroking Aklin's tablet.

"It really is too bad as it would be useful, but that is a good saying, Armagnac is smart," Tori did have to wonder what Aklin would have to say but she knew it might be something to do with water. "It really does hurt, it was just something I wasn't ready to relive. As in the past I had shut off my emotions because I had to since I had lost someone very dear to me," she answered as she thought of Ceri once more and to the death she still blames herself for. "Your right it is, those that can't see and can't protect themselves,"

"I know, but it just feels like it," the lifer responded more calmed down now too. "Your right, but untill then we just have to bare with it and its will be hard, but you are totally right, Sherry," Tori said as she sat back up and looking at Sherry with a little smile. "Thanks I needed that, things are still sorta new to me relearning things I had forgotten,"

"And hopefully very soon," Tori answered and thought that if Aklin was where he should be that he would be asking all the questions. Something she missed even if sometimes it was annoying.

The response was a relief, and the sudden sobs- he rested his head beside Jordan, and held him, not saying anything. They all smelled like sweat, smoke, and blood. He felt a keen, digging pain for Ferros and Tracey. Here, he could feel all three stones. Things had gone...bad. Really bad. But they could always go worse. And he was determined not to let that happen.

Harrison eyed Sasha.

She hadn't gone on the mission. She was fully armed, fear shield and all, and Rep and Jordan were both a mess- he held them closer.

She'd know about the entirety of the situation soon enough.

"Insanity took over the Haunted House," he allowed, "it can kill people just by thinking about it, and use their weapons. It got Caelius-"

Allan's voice.

Harrison wasn't so optimistic, he wanted to be hopeful, but hoping wouldn't get him anywhere, they had to cope with the situation as-is... he felt a familiar stir.

B0nez?

There wasn't an answer, but he looked at the tablet. Had he imagined it? Did the others...there seemed an immediate shift in attitudes and attentions. Jordan actually talked. And Rep asked if they could go to bed. Harrison straightened.

"Get B0nez for me, will you?" he asked, and then answered, "Yeah. ...We got to stop by Supplies first, still. After that."

"I'm cold," Jordan said, sounding vaguely surprised at the fact. He nodded at Harrison's request and moved to scoop up B0nez's tablet; Ferros had said, some time ago, that he would allow Jordan to touch B0nez or Tracey if he needed to, and since he couldn't ask right now - Jordan shut that line of thinking off and cradled the tablets carefully, deliberately blanking his mind and concentrating on how tired he was, how oddly chilled.

Rep at first wasn't sure who Harrison was addressing as far as B0nez went. But his confusion meant it no longer became a problem, which was for the best he figured, it was one thing polishing weapons, he wasn't sure how he felt about the more extreme intimacy of handling their actual physical form. Part of him already wanted to wrap Tracey in velvet like a holy book.

The optimism didn't bring back all of Rep's functionality, his thoughts were still a dark and paranoid place, the sensations getting worse the longer he thought. He needed to be away from everyone.

"Mm," Harrison acknowledged, "Been getting chillier on the island, too. I won't take too long." The ghost's totem required a degree of separation that Rep and Jordan's totems didn't- he couldn't take a flashdrive in the shower, or hold B0nez while they surfed the computer. He trusted either of his Suns with his life, and he trusted them with his weapon too.

He helped them both up, and then towards the door.

It would be a relief to get some time alone and some rest. Maybe sleep would help with the hollow feeling. Jordan leaned against Harrison as they left, grateful for Harrison's support and stubborn good sense.

Sherry gave another small, sad smile in response to Tori's words. "I think I'm relearning, too."

She sighed. "Hopefully," her fingers lightly brushed the stone tablet in her hands again. "Soon." It was a pleading whisper.

"I suppose there isn't much we can do right now, is there?" Her eyes went back to Tori.

Konstantin sat stock still, emulating a statue as best he could. Syntax Error was having a bit of a meltdown, spewing errors repeatedly in lines of code that scrolled down the Russian's mind eye.

A body was shoved through the portal, and without thinking, Kostya was lurching to his feet in an instant.

"Mimsy!" he cried, rushing towards the portal, examining the damage.

Coat: Bloodied-- footprint on hip.
Body: Bruised
Face: Bruised
Vitals: Seemingly stable-- breathing, nothing visibly broken, no exposed wounds.

"Это так приятно видеть вас!" With a gloved hand, he took a deep breath and reached out to steady her. The Russian made no attempt to take the tablet from her: it looked like the ones he'd seen in the Weapons Chamber, and the shape engraved in it looked alarmingly like Svensyl.

"Am, being," Kostya struggled to say, relief flooding his voice, brows furrowed in concentration. "So vorried," was what he settled on, after a moment. "Infirmary now, da?"
