Shun gave Xiu a bit of a flat look there. He was half expecting Riley coming out of nowhere to say it was his fault as well. "No. It was not me, but I did notice the footsteps as well," he said. Shaking his head at the thought, he turned towards the stranger that Xiu had spoken to. He hadn't seen him around, and so he was feeling a little wary. Given everything that had happened in the past couple months, he had a little trouble giving strangers the benefit of the doubt initially. Even so, he wasn't wanting to start anything up. For now, he just looked towards the other boy, nodding quietly to him as Xiu introduced him.

Cleaning didn't seem like a problem, but the strange feelings and experiences in the area did leave Damien feeling odd about it. the pup had an inkling something wasn't right. Somehow he had to blame shun for it, it was always shuns fault after all. It took a little bit of time with his nose to the misty ground, but the pup did manage to find the baku with the dagger boil and demi promptly sniffed him. "Why are you teleporting around and messing with footprints?" Heart of the matter with this pup, no time for tomfoolery.

Riley was busy taking her Cluppies for walkies, but wherever she was, she definitely blamed Shun for this.

Shun just stared at Demi. "That wasn't me. I shadowstepped once. That isn't nearly enough to leave that mess of footprints."It likely didn't help his case that there weren't many reapers at the school that he knew of capable of doing it. The only other one he knew was Roch.

"Well then, that makes me feel even more uneasy than before. Though maybe it was one of the guests...?" Still, while the footprints were confusing, they definitely did scare her quite as much as the whisper.
...Just what was going on here?
She offered Demi a small smile at his arrival, lifting a hand to wave. "Hi, Demi! So you noticed those footprints too, huh?" Looking back to the other boil whose name she did not know, the baku gestured towards their new arrival. "Ah--and this is Demi!"
Even when she was concerned or frightened about something, Xiu would never skip out on the formality of introductions.

For the next moment everything went still. Muted whites. Greys. No sight, sound, no thought, emotions, hopes, fears nothing.
The only sensation that came close was that of drowning, or of the moment between sleeping and being truly awake where the mind shifts but the body is locked, a split second of paralysis and confusion.
And then a single voice.
Home.
The greys began to stir, shapes that solidified, emerged from the mass of fog, and eventually relinquished bare hints of what had once been the Fright Night grounds. The grey mist made everything look different.
And odder still the shapes. Vague pillars of beings, standing. Unmoving, simply staring, blue eyes staring off into some unimaginable point in the distance. They were all staring at the same direction, some shapes larger, taller, and yet all mist-like and almost formless, some missing arms, limbs, others with half a formed torso that simply dissolved into the layered grey ground beneath, tendrils lashing upwards a limb at a time before dissolving again.
Fragments.
Home.
It was not a word uttered, nor did any of the half-formed shapes stop staring at a single direction, but their voices, their chill, quiet, and yet painfully yearning, nostalgic voices called for something so bare and simple the word itself meant nothing compared to the feeling. Even the students could feel the tug this time, faint claws tugging at their core-
- And then the barrage of longing. Of the flicker of warm fire, a bonfire, laughing and cajoling, the scent of food cooking, of companionship, of bonding. Of the blooming of hundreds of small death blossoms on the famous Nightmare Hill, each petal a brilliant blue that lit the entire landscape, the trees, the coffins, and cobbled curves of the famous park in a deep violet. Of the gentle creak and sway of the Weeping Forest, the uncertain twist of each path that simply lead deeper, the smell of thick puddles of swamp water mixed with rich mossy trees.
As the feeling finally pulled, dissolved away, it let most students simply feeling empty. Confused. Lost.
And yet for a very select few it left something else, it sparked that single emotion in them they had been holding for so long, pushed back so delicately behind fragile doors that after tasting true home could no longer be called back.
They wanted to go home. OOC IF YOU HAVE BEEN TAGGED VIA PM (ie I pmed you to come to this rp):- Everything starts to go grey, fuzzy, disfocused. Incomplete. However, you can see something else now in the fog, shapes, figures, unfamiliar figures that seem to be waiting for something. You hear perhaps someone talking to you, your friends maybe, but it seems distant: your body stills, you feel cold, quiet. Nothing else matters but waiting. Your eyes gloss over as you simply become disfocused. EVERYONE ELSE:You hear someone call out to you, several voices at once. For students who had been on the island, the sensation is familiar, and once again with the incident that happened during the Four Clans. An invasive being lurking around the corner, threatening to emerge and consume you. You feel uneasy, on edge: perhaps it is best to leave. It feels as if someone bad, extremely bad, to the point where it upsets your very core, is about to arrive at any second.

"I don't think the guests were allowed.."Shun's voice trailed off as he began to hear a few voices. It wasn't just that, though. There was something moving in the distance within the fog that was slowly rolling in. Furrowing his brow, he realized it wasn't just one being. But many. They were mostly formless, though he could see parts of bodies forming briefly within the mass. Home. There it was again. "This is not good.." Shun murmured. It wasn't just the visuals, but what he felt. The feelings of things being wrong here had increased tenfold. It was probably a very good thing he hadn't made Mitsu come with him today. Reaching out, he tried to grab onto Xiu's arm to pull her behind him if possible.

Suddenly everything seized up and she couldn't move her lips, wings, arms, legs nothing. It was like playing stone statues except this was certainly no game. Her heart thundered wildly in in her ears but no beating was enough to drown out what happened next. Everything was suddenly gone, wiped from her mind as she drowned in the emptiness with no escape.
Suddenly a voice, images, fog, something...home? Home, what was? Where was? Suddenly she felt it, she ached for it, what or where it was didn't matter but the need clawed at her insides. She gasped as the feeling and vision and sound vanished and left her empty and trembling.
Oh Jack, oh jack what the heck was that?!
"I think it would be wise to depart..." She murmured to Yin and Ace, too shaken and shocked to question these events at the moment she just wanted to escape them.

Ash had not attended Fright Night. He had stayed in his room, locked inside to keep himself at bay.
He was familiar with this, now. The pulling, the voices, and then he succumbed, a helpless raft in the stormy sea, dashed upon the rocks and dragged into the undertow.
It was cold and familiar, that voice. It called him home.
Disregarding his traditional helm, Ashford's eyes slid out of focus, the world following suit. Colourful things drained from the world around him, and with it, so did the heat from the reaper's body. Without the helmet, the patches of grey along his face and neck were exposed.
Ash left his room, dragging his blade along the floor behind him, the metal scratching against the floor as he did.
Oh, it was time.
Home.
Home.
Home.

Annoyed with the unknown festival-goer that was leaving all sorts of token litter around, Thackery had not bothered to talk to anyone, opting to finish packing up his booth in silence. When the last of the obols were stashed away and the boxes were folded securely shut, he paused, smiling, to offer attention to an impatient Dexxy.
But Dexxy was gone, lost in fuzzy greys and whites, and it felt as if someone had their hands over his ears. He pawed mierably at them, hoping to regain his senses, but nothing seemed to work. He couldn't hear anything.
Except 'home'. He panicked.
Hands shaking, he tried to steady himself on his stack of boxes, sending them toppling over in all directions instead. He rubbed at his eyes, smashing his palms into his forehead to try to get a moment of clarity. No, no, he couldn't have it too, how could he look after Ash if they were both sick?
Whimpering, he tugged at his clothes, pulling at the loose fabric of his shirt to get a glimpse of the tanned tummy underneath. There weren't any patches there. None on his arms. Maybe he was okay. Maybe this was just a mistake. Somehow.
When clarity returned he just stood there, clothing disheveled, looking droopy and concerned. He was in over his head. This was more than sleeping at the foot of someone's bed or going on a key hunt.
There was a nagging feeling with Ash's name on it that whispered worry in his core.
It told him that everything was not going to be okay.

Xiu felt the sensation first before she saw the formless figures. Although she could not deny that it was a familiar feeling that washed over the ghoul, it was most certainly not a welcome one. The sudden, strong sense of longing that overtook the baku made her breath catch in her throat, and then the emptiness...
Her gaze snapped up when she heard Shun speak, and she gave a sharp shake of her head as she tried to dispel the feeling that had come over her. "You....you're right. I don't know what's going on, but..."
Xiu shivered, allowing herself to be drawn behind the reaper. However, her ears were perked up as she remained alert, ready to run--or to fight--if need be.
"Do...do you feel that too, aniki? Like...something really bad is about to happen any second now?"

"Well you don't smell like the footprints owner... its not you i guess." demi said in sullen realization and gave the normally grumpy boil his much needed space. It wasn't shun's fault, this time. He was going to accept this. his attention was then turned to the more pleasant view of Xiu in all her adorable glory as he gave the baku a small grin and a light bow to go with it, smiling sheepishly like the skittish pup he denied he was. "ah, yes, yes, and other stuff that seemed odd to boot, it is nice to know that I'm not the only one witnessing it." It wasn't till the ghoul turned to the side that he realized there was someone else with them. The hounds ears perked up and gave a wave at the other companion. "Hello there, its nice to meet you." he yapped up happily, more new scents to keep track of. all sense of pleasantries fell short as the silence grew to unusual heights, enough to make the pup flatten his ears in concern and raise in alarm at the steadily rising voices from out of no where. the familiar chill that crept up and into the hell hounds bones descended again. "Not good indeed Shun." the pup replied absently, taking up position by the reapers side, arms primed for fight or flight and ready to defend.

The feeling of being unsettled was a quick way to turn Shehk from irritated to volatile, her ears flattening back as she suddenly jerked her head from side to side to peer around, a low rumble filling her chest.
It was as if something was going to try and force her to leave, and she wasn't having it. Her skin crawled and what little movement her heart still had was jerky and irregular - even more so than usual - as she began to pace. Do not run. Do not run. She had to keep telling herself that to keep from twitching out and perhaps going violent, but... she touched the bracelet she wore. It was alright.
She'd be prepared to chew faces off.

"I do. Some ominous winds are blowing right now..."The thought of leaving came to mind. However... would it do much good? He couldn't tell how far this fog spread. Attempting to retreat could be futile. If something sprang up, it was better to stick together rather than spread out. Splitting up would only lead to more disaster most likely. "Damien, do you smell anything odd in the air?"He may as well ask the canine. The hellhound did mention a scent regarding the footprints. A glance was also cast towards the stranger, though he had nothing to say or suggest. Looking back out towards the fog, he brought his hands out of his pockets, ready to call forth his daggers if need be. If they were lucky, this would just be some really trippy as balls fog and nothing more. That... probably wasn't too likely though. Not when he recalled a similar sensation at the horsemen island.

Amrita turned again, smiling as she saw Calder's form appear through the fog. Oh good, he was still here! And no longer lost, too...which was a definite plus. She raised her arms for him much like a scareling demanding a hug, but paused just before she could fully extend them to him.
Home.
"...H-hey...can you guys hear that?" She murmured to everyone around her, looking over her shoulder towards voices that weren't there, watching the fog as it seemed to roll in even thicker than before. This...certainly wan't a prank, was it? It couldn't be. "It's like..." This feeling was too familiar. She'd felt it before, but never his creeping. It seemed to ease up on her the more she looked around. Colours began to fade, pieces began to blot themselves out; Calder and the others didn't quite look right anymore. There was something in the way - no, someone in the way. A few of them, actually. All still and staring.
"..." She longed for something. It was intense, pulling at her very core; she couldn't place what it was she wanted, but she needed it desperately. As quickly as it started the feeling left, leaving her feeling empty and unnaturally cold. Someone started talking to her, but she couldn't quite make it out...but it didn't seem to matter anymore.
The arms she still held out for Calder slowly lowered until they dangled lifelessly at her sides, her form stilling. For a moment she seemed to look around, but soon that stopped too; her already glossy undead eyes seemed to fog over, staring almost unseeing ahead of her.
