"Then I won't stop giving you the support you need." He replied, he was caught off guard when her mother and brother returned, along with two other males. More family, that was always fun. Especially when you're a human in the elven world and only today you have found out you got someone's daughter pregnant...

"That's quite alright, you have a large family." He said, there was nervousness hinted in the tone of his voice that he was almost certain that Araima picked up on. He sat down next to Araima and stayed as quiet as a church mouse. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to say to the other two men in her family.

Araima queased his hand to show him she was here for him. As Irana started setting out her fresh baked food, Araima introduced her father and her brother Damyrn.
"You can call him, Ham. I do it all the time. He does like to wallow with the pigs." Darius piped up to Damryn's dismay. This started them bickering back and forth for a minute. Finally the other brother, younger than Darius but older than Ariama, stepped up and clapped Gale on the shoulder.
"Nice to finally meet my sister's lover." he grinned.
"Damyrn!" Araima flushed bright red.
"Alright sit down already and eat. They're probably starving by now." Irana commanded. All listened and gathered around the table to eat.
The smell of the food was enough to replace the last traces of nausea with her growing appetite. It seemed her mother made sure that the conversation remain polite for at least a few more minutes. She was thankful for that. Gale could use a few more moment to prepare himself. However her father Ellis keep a stead eye on Gale.
Finally he spoke. "Gale. I have a few things to ask you." he said, not sounding please. Everyone got quiet.

Gale watched as Araima's family showed the kind of family they were. He stayed quiet the entire time. things were looking good, until the one he assumed was her father decided to single him out with stare. He felt it on his back and the authority in his voice, everyone else seemed to as well. The entire room went completely silent the moment he began to speak.

"Yes sir" He replied quietly, his only comfort was Araima holding his hands.

Ellis nodded and folded his finger before him. "To all our people, having children is a blessing, whatever the circumstances. Children are still too few and far between for us. I'm happy I as was blessed with so many." he started. At those words Irana blushed with pride.
"However," he frowned. "I cannot overlook the fact that you disappeared for all of six months without a word. And that this has happened before. What is to say that the next time you go off, years won't pass till you cross the gate? My grandchild will need a father, no matter what he is."
Araima paled. They knew. The sons looked slightly confused by the words, but Irana and Ellis seemed to know. "How?" she breathed.
"I still have a keen pair of eyes." her father said with amusement.

Gale looked shocked, he knew what he was, right off the bat. No sense in trying to cover it up now, so instead he nodded his head in agreement to Ellis. "Children are a blessing to, "us" as well. I think I know what you want me to do, you want us to stay together in hers, or in mine, so disappearing acts won't be an issue." Gale sighed, he wished he didn't have to discuss this before dinner, in front of all of them.

"Truth is I do want to be here with her all the time, but my life is unfortunately there. I still have family, I couldn't separate Araima from all of you and she would not let me do the same. Please give us time to sort this out, it's an issue that just can't be solved in five minutes time." Explained Gale, he wasn't sure how well he answered her father's question, but the truth was, he just wasn't sure how this was going to work out between Araima, the child and himself. One thing was for sure, he didn't want to separate the child from it's mother.

Ellis sat silently debating. His wife placed a hand on his shoulder while the brother stared at Gale curiously. Finally he spoke at last.
"Very well. I don't really know you and I don't think you are go enough for my daughter."
"Ellis!" Irana scolded to which he almost smiled.
"Then again. I don't believe anyone is. But you seem sincere and I want the child to have his father. So later, when you to sort some more things out, perhaps my family can help with this situation."
"I'm not completely following..." The eldest son spoke up.
Araima took pity on them. "Gale is human and the gates between this place and the human's keeps us from staying together."
Both looked a little stunned. "Oh." then said in unison, staring curiously at Gale again.
Irana leaned over to look as Gale as well. "I'm sorry you weren't received more pleasantly today. I hope that you'll be part of the family soon. Just know that we mean well." she was worried.

Gale nodded his head to Irana. "It's alright, you, had every reason to be wary of me I'm sure." He replied, it was nice to know that he was accepted among them. A smile began to form. "I'm really glad that you haven't shunned me away for being human."

Irana smiled. "It's not the first time and probably not the last. It just happens rarely. And remember, not just anyone can pass through the gates." she said with a wink.
Finally one of the boys spoke. ".So... Human huh? What's live like for you? Not to different I'd guess." Damryn said, trying to get the conversation up again.
Araima jumped on the chance to tread in saver waters. "You should tell them. I'd think they'd like it there."

"Not just anyone? Why do you mean by that?" He asked Irana, he wasn't sure what that actually meant. He knew from Araima that this would have to stay their little secret. He turned his attention to Damryn next. He wasn't sure to answer that question till the mother of their child encouraged him.

"Well, it's actually quite different from here. In fact, your world looks like something out of a children's story book to us. Take the roof of your home for example, we have nothing like that there."

"Really? That's a little odd when you think about it. How do the houses look?" he asked. And so the conversation continued on comfortable ground. Gale sharing information about his world and The brother about theirs. Other than looks they seemed to run similarly. The only different was on being run by technology and the other my magic. However Darius argued that magic could be a type of science and then the conversation turn into another argument between brothers.
Araima listened, contently having eaten her food with a large appetite. She even put in suggestion about certain things. Finally, the the day wore on and both brother claimed they needed to return to their own home and were the first to leave with a friendly clap on the back for Gale and a grin for Araima.
"I think it's time we got back too." Irana suggested,
"If you'll be here tomorrow, I think we can help you two with you situation." Ellis told them.

Gale gave her brothers a wave as they left. That went better than expected with them, so intrigued by his world as Gale was to theirs. He scratched his head when Ellis offered his help with their problem. His wisdom seemed like it could be very useful. "I would like that. I'm open to all of your ideas, actually..." Gale then turned his attention to Araima. "Since my family's out of town, I was hoping I could stay here for a bit. That is, if you don't mind Araima."

"Good I will see you..." Ellis as he let the young couple decide. Though he didn't smile, he eyes showed his approval. He liked this man. If this was the man she wanted than he'd accept it.

Araima looked up at her beloved and smiled. "No." she said, overjoyed. "Not at all. My house is yours." she said. She squeezed his hand, and smiled radiantly.

Irana was happy to see her daughter so. She hugged Araima and Gale. "I will see you both tomorrow then. Take care of them for me." she told Gale. Ellis kissed his daughter forehead and clasped hands with Gale. "Treat my daughter well."

Gale was overjoyed himself over Araima allowing him to stay. "Thanks Araima, you're still the best." Gale then set his sights on Irana, embarrassed by her kindness. "Of course I will. That's a promise. I look forward to your return." He said to Irana with a gentle smile. He shook her hands and nodded his head to her.

Irana smiled and took her husband's arm. "Let's head home." With a last look at the two and a sigh, he nodded. "Alright."
They walked out the door together.
"Well. I'm relieved." she said, standing and stretching a little, her hands resting on her lower back. "It's seems my family overall approves." she told Gale, with a giggled.

Gale waved goodbye to the grandparents to be and sighed once they were finally gone. "I'm surprised myself. They know I'm human now. I figured they would shun me away because of it. That was a fear of mine trying to get here. I thought somebody found out and sealed off the gateway so I couldn't return." He explained, learning of his future child brought up that idea even more. He was happy now however. Gale simply adored being with Araima again. Long waits such as these made him miss her love even more.
