Eternal Senshi

PostPosted: Mon Jul 16, 2012 3:26 pm

Ganymede, predictably, spent most of his time rolling his eyes and making dirty faces at people he already knew he didn’t like, and a few more he was beginning not to like just because of the things he could hear coming out of their mouths. If he’d known the Senshi were full of such self-righteous, “listen-to-me-because-I’m-awesome-and-I-have-power,” or “listen-to-me-because-I’m-friends-with-someone-who-has-power,” or "listen-to-me-because-I-have-more-memories-than-you-do-and-therefore-I-must-know-better-even-though-my-interpretation-and-prospective-of-events-could-very-well-be-influenced-by-personal-history-opinion-and-environmental-factors" sort of people, he would have tried to come up with a different name for himself and just never introduced himself to anyone as a senshi because of the bad rep they would inevitably give him—as if the rep they already had among their enemies wasn’t bad enough as it was.

Of course, the outfit and energy signature made what he was fairly obvious, but it was always nice to dream of a reality in which he wasn’t forced to be associated with some of these people just because they happened to be on the same side of a war.

His boyfriend was at least smart enough to make an attempt to obstruct his view and prevent him from seeing the Zodiac princess, who received quite a dirty look indeed even though he hadn’t had anything personal against her until she’d seemed to decide a bunch of old mirrors were more important than innocent lives. He gave quite an exaggerated eye-roll at the sound of her voice, and muttered things under his breath about how he didn’t particularly care what some people had to say about the past when it was the present and the future that mattered most.

The only thing he cared about learning from the past was how to avoid repeating whatever had led to so much destruction on his moon and what had happened to start the war. He didn’t care how much some of these people wanted to blame chaos for everything, he refused to believe that that was the entire story. If anything, it seemed like a simplified version of something much larger.

Instead of making audible comments, Ganymede focused most of his attention on those immediately around him, squeezing Val’s hand and glancing over at Tsui to ponder her questions.

“I think we all go through a lot of the same,” he said. “Knights probably have it even worse since they’re not even awakened by a cat. We senshi should typically at least get a bit of a crash course during our awakenings, but I imagine a lot of the knights don't have that luxury. Val was lucky and had a cat around, too. We’re not supposed to automatically know things, as far as I’m aware,” he added. “Some things are instinctive, like our magic, but everything else… anyone who expects you to know everything about what’s going on is a dumbass.”

It was a relief for Cora to feel the energy level lowering a bit after Polaris giving up her princess form to eternal form and couple powerful allies leaving the room. Even though it was sad they left and she felt she couldn't get tired of admiring Polaris' dress, it was still a quite task for her to concentrate. She was, after all, doing this for the first time.

Now, that the energy level in the hall was easier to handle, Cora found herself wondering something. There were a lot of talk about knights, their similarities and differences with senshi. There had been talking about teams and their different goals. But would there be talk about guardian cats as well? The question burned her mind and the feline felt a bit restless without an answer.

Couple moments she pondered what to do. Would she dare to approach the princess in the middle of the discussion? Her little frontpaws moved a bit nervously, up and down. Her large ears were fidgeting, as well her brush-like tail that's tip hit the ground softly.

But then, chibi sailor Ambrosia walked past her to ask the question from the princess. Cora watched the girl for a moment before deciding. If the girl could do it, so could she. She considered Polaris as friend, surely she wouldn't mind. It seemed like perfect timing too. So, the guardian cat stood up and walked after the chibi.

"Pardon me for interupting," said Cora behind Ambrosia and suddenly, there was a cream-colored guardian cat on chibi senshi's shoulder. "But may I ask from you, Princess Polaris, is information of guardian cats in your list of topics of today? As you surely know we do a lot more than just awaken and uppgrade. I think it might be important to let others know how we can help, especially newer ones."

After she had said that, Cora reached forward a bit, in a way that she wanted to give a little loving nudge for the eternal before her. "Oh, and thank you for taking eternal form. I love your dress but this form's energy is easier to handle."

Niflhel watched as they continued to speak settling so he was sitting on the edge of the stage. He watched the little senshi and Cora moving around. He chuckled when Cora thanked Polaris for powering down to eternal. "I'd help with the power difficulty but I can't."

They were seemingly doing pretty good now that they were removed from earlier topics. So much hate though and Polaris was just trying to host the meeting so they could learn things. He sorta did wish he knew who he was actually pledged to. "Actually talking about cats is a good idea. I think Polaris has an open topic if cat's aren't on her list, we can bring up cats then if you'd like?" He offered.

Aeria sat there, primly and properly, her features immaculate, no matter what form she was in. Listening but keeping a mindful eye on her position, which was near to nothing in this crowd.. Aeria's hand rested on the brooch on her chest.

****

Ryugu-jo was listening with both ears but he wasn't really all there. He might have been laying eyes on some of the finer crowds in this room, since .. Well .. He never had formally met most of them, if at all, any of them in this room.

Damn, they were an impressive bunch, minus the entire discussion.

Although the point of being here, was the discussion.

****

"But, you're somebody's princess." A voice, sweet as sugar, thoroughly charmed, appeared from behind the pink haired moon princess. It was, perhaps, his first appearance into the fray, arms wrapping around Allie's neck with blatant affection.

He pressed a small kiss to the top of Allie's head, fingers running through Allie's long bubble-gun hair.

Chibimoon laughed at Juno, turning so that they could bump fists and then hips in what was a bit like one of the various secret handshake combinations Super Awesome Friends had for each other. It was utterly unquestionable that any of her friends was closer to the princess than the athletic asteroid senshi. "That has to be it. They knew that you did all the things so we did not need knights!" That didn't mean, however, that there weren't also other special protectors that could be found.

One of them snuck cheerfully up behind the tiny Eternal senshi, cuddling her back against him with the familiarity of someone who had known her long enough to know that she'd accept it without struggling. From anyone else, perhaps not, but the voice belied the accent into something she recognized immediately. After all she'd lived with it every day, albeit a much grumpier version from one of the other Three. "Seal!" With a squeal of delight, Allie spun in his grip so that she could return his affection with quite a bit of her own.

It had been such a long time since she had seen anyone but Itsuki and even then that grumpy cat had been wrapped up in his studies like he often said she ought to be. Sure he still slept at the end of her bed in leopard form but both Seal and Quail hadn't been seen...almost as long as she'd not seen Helios.

"You sneak! Where did you come from?"

Perseus stood off in the corner of the meeting. There were many faces she recognized, and even more that she did not. The thought unsettled her a little bit, but since upgrading to eternal she was ashamed to say that she had not been very active.

In other meetings she spoke up about certain projects or information, trying to bring all of the different viewpoints to stand behind one particular topic. But sitting back during this gathering after a spell of removal had shown her just how fragmented they really were.

They had no princess to find or stand behind; senshi, knights, and cats did as they please and stood for what they felt like; and one of the only things that Perseus had ever seen rally everyone to a similar cause had never appeared again after the cake debacle. She'd left in the beginning because everything had felt like a lost cause, and the pressure to go elsewhere became overwhelming. But she was back now and meant to give it a good go this time around.

She nodded at Polaris to acknowledge the princess. "Long time no see." Same went for everyone in the room- Chibimoon, Zephyr, Hugbell, Taranis... the familiar names and faces (albeit some of them significantly changed, just like herself) popped out of the crowd as she scanned them all.

"Don't you have sweeter pet names for me than sneak? I'm sure I deserve a warmer welcome. " Seal's eye's arms withdrawing to accommodate Allie's excited demeanor, his fingers in a gesture of silence over his lips, with a wink towards Allie.

It appeared, the cat-- ahem, the seal wouldn't be out of the bag anytime soon, especially concerning his whereabouts.

"You've grown into a proper beauty. Perhaps, it may be time for me to try my hand at courting you if Itsuki's grumpy attempts haven't swayed you yet." His hand brushed over Allie's ear with a cradling touch.

"Has he been good to you?"

Rolling her eyes the princess rose up on her toes to kiss Akio's cheek warmly, without realizing it lapsing back into the language they both shared. Japanese would always come much more smoothly off of her tongue than English though the jarring Germanic language was becoming easier and easier. "Itsuki? Swaying me? He's so cranky I can't even manage to get a brush in edgewise, though if that awful American television is on sometimes he'll let me rub his ears. If he doesn't watch it I might just have to move on and find someone who actually treats me like a lady." Somehow what had started as an annoying meeting was now a fantastic social occasion!

Seal was lucky like that, he had the ability to light up a room with how charming and fun he was, part of the reason Allie adored him. Of course she wasn't the only one who adored him and that was utterly okay with her; he treated her like she was most of the time! "You're still as sharp as ever though, I have to say I admire the look." Flirting good-naturedly she petted the fur at his shoulder, turning a bit so that he could admire the hard-won Eternal wings at her waist.

"I've finally grown up a bit. Still a little senshi though." Her nose wrinkled up, sighing at both her status and her height. "Never going to be a proper princess, I'm afraid."

He glanced back down at Ganymede as listened to what he had to say, standing with his back turned almost completely to the rest of the crowd. One reason was to keep Ganymede from getting worked up even more if he could help it... and another reason... was because he wasn't sure he wanted to let everyone see the disappointment on his face. He was almost ashamed to call himself a knight after the way some people were behaving. It was no wonder why people like Eternal Sailor Remarque and General Wolframite hated most senshi and/or knights.

Some people were just... embarrassing.

Valhalla almost leaned in to place a distracting kiss on Ganymede's forehead, but stopped himself so he could respond to Tsui once Ganymede said his bit. "You're not defective," he said with a small, sad smile. "Ideally, a guardian cat would have told you the basics. Unfortunately," he continued, looking down at Ganymede again. "Not everyone gets all the information they need."

From what Ganymede had told him, he hadn't learned much from the guardian cat who'd awakened him, either... Valhalla on the other hand, was lucky to have Zia/Zirconia to explain things to him, and later on Maia to go into details about events that he'd missed in the past several years since senshi started showing up.

"Starseeds... are basically your soul. They're what connects you to your past lives and to your powers. It's also an energy source. The Negaverse and youma have been known to steal people's starseeds for energy. Once your starseed is taken... you go into a coma and..." he trailed off, not really knowing how else to explain it. They didn't die, exactly... it was worse than death.

"As for the Surrounding. Around fall of last year, several dozen civilians from the city went missing. Somehow they'd been transported into space, to the Surrounding. It's the Zodiac senshi and knights' domain. Chronos is their Princess. Anyway... several of us went to help keep the civilians safe, with enough food and supplies for everyone. Eventually, though... Ares, the Queen of the Dark Mirror Court, somehow managed to get into the Surrounding, along with youma and officers of the Negaverse... the Dark Mirror senshi travel by mirrors through mirror space. We all assumed that was how they were getting in, and the mirrors were taken away from the Surrounding to protect it... They got in, anyway... Some civilians were corrupted into the court, and others awoke as knights of Chronos... And no matter how hard we tried to protect them, those civilians that were left ended up dying... Somehow, a miracle happened and they were brought back... but... it's still something that haunts me to this day."

He knew there was a lot more to explain, but for now, he leaned in and gave Ganymede that kiss on his forehead that he'd wanted to do.

"But you adore that cranky feline so you won't be moving on, will you Allieberry?" Seal turned his cheek to simply glow in Allie's kiss, his knee bent and arm lingering at Allie's waist. His eyes traveled over Allie's figure, with eyes only for her. Darkened chocolate eyes shadowed for a moment over Allie's words, his hand reaching to life one of hers, pressing her palm against his cheek. "Allieberry, what's the use of being a proper princess.." There was a low emphasis on the word, a spot of disdain for the word. ".. you're already a princess?"

He pressed a kiss against her hand.

"As long as myself and the others regard you in the highest regard, princess, who else do you need?"

She needed no one else but Helios and the Eyes. Seal's eye didn't care for the bunch that didn't acknowledge Allie as so, as she only needed a select few.

She'd barely finished her answer to Ambrosia when a tiny and familiar face appeared, ready with another question in queue.

"Coraaaa" Polaris cooed affectionately to the Guardian that had assisted her with her eternal upgrade. The question that sounded wasn't one that she was expecting, and she nodded quickly in agreement to the good idea. Despite having three different cats for her power ups and having met the strange kitty woman that was Zirconia Polaris didn't really have much interaction with the Guardians, which was probably why they hadn't come to her mind when she was writing out what she wanted to discuss.

"I don't really know a whole lot about you Guardians, but I think it sounds like a great idea and very useful information to have. I'd be happy to bring it up after the Dark Mirror Senshi topic and give the floor to you guys to say what you'd like."

Her hand reached out to meet the offered nudge from Cora, and she spotted Perseus briefly and returned her greeting with a soft wave.

Juno's grin had only grown as they bumped and tapped in their own special way, stepping back just in time for Allie to be enveloped by the strange boy.

What was..? Her expression skewed a little as she watched the strange show of over affection back and forth, until finally she turned her eyes away, sticking her tongue out like a five year old who believed in cooties. Bleck! What in the world was that boy doing to her Chibimoon? And her back? She could pick out what they were saying despite the change in language and it was awfully gushy.

Settling back against the wall she seemed almost pouty as she turned her attention back to the meeting and listening again. Gushy makeout sessions weren't exactly the tomboy's forte.

Tsui had listened intently to Valhalla's explanation, and suddenly her words were catching up with her. She had no idea that the Negaverse were after Starseeds, or their involvement in the Surrounding, though now she could understand some of the other Senshi and Knights' initial refusal for diplomacy. She mused on the topic to herself for a moment, and she brought this up with Valhalla and Ganymede as well. "Even after what happened at the Surrounding, after what you've witnessed, you still feel like we can reach some kind of truce with them? You're willing to let go of the past and try to make peace with them?"

It wasn't a chastising question and she hoped it wasn't going to be taken that way. She was genuinely curious. All the while, she made a mental note to try and approach Polaris, Hug-Bell and the cat that had lectured her and at least offer some kind of apology for her naivety. She still believed that diplomacy could work, but there was no need to make enemies in the White Moon Court as well. 'They probably won't accept them, but then I can at least say I tried.'

A smile lit up Chronos' face as she sensed Neso, making her way closer to him to put her arm in his. It was a comfort, to have one of her Handmaidens close to her (even if he technically wasn't a maiden). Her little contribution was over, and the Princess of the Zodiacs was quite content to stay silent until the need came.

Picking up Allie's voice, Chronos immediately perked, eyes darting around to find her cousin, dragging Neso around as she did so. When she got there, she was just in time to catch the grey haired boy comforting Allie in a language unknown to her.

"You are a Princess to me." The green haired princess offered, watching the two with a smile and acknowledging Juno with a slight dip of her head. After all, Chibimoon was the daughter of two royals, and that was enough for Chronos to count her as a Princess. And besides, she did seem to have those that were loyal to her, not unlike Chronos' own court.

"You're actually here!" There was only a slight tinge of surprise in her voice as Eternal Sailor Flora sidled into the shadows besides the Senshi of Wind, nudging him with her shoulder lightly. While she knew her Princess was out there, she had just spotted that she was with Neso now, and thus was quite content to stay out of the whole debate that everyone seemed to devolve into in every senshi meeting.

'Why should we follow you because you're a Princess?' No doubt a few people here felt this way, and everyone would always fight and insist that they needed leaders, but weren't sure who exactly deserved the position. Nor would they come to any consensus. There were always dissents, and adding her voice to it wouldn't help.

Besides, hiding in the shadows meant that she could shroud the white wings that had replaced the pink bow formerly on the back of her outfit. It may had been quite a while since she had turned Eternal, but it wasn't something she had really told anyone. Nor had she actually gone on much patrol as an Eternal, what with trying to concentrate on her studies and a part time job at her uncle's cafe. "How have you been, Zephyr?" She hadn't seen much of him either. Not after the whole 'past fiancee' incident, something that Flora had completely stuffed in the back of her mind and ignored, because what was the point of getting stupidly flustered over that anymore?

Valhalla offered Tsui a small smile at her question, feeling a bit of relief wash over him as he realized she was at least willing to try and understand, even if it didn't make complete sense.

"It's not going to be easy, and it won't happen over night... but it's worth a shot, right...?" he wondered, knowing he sounded like he was crazy, like he was asking to be killed... Sometimes he wondered if he was crazy... But it was against his own morals to kill... hell, he didn't like fighting unless he had to.

"Like I said before... they seem to think we're looking for a Moon Queen to rule over them..." he paused, wondering if Tsui wanted to know more, his smile faltering just a bit. "We haven't been any better than them..." he started, glancing warily around the room and lowering his voice so only the few Jovians around him could hear. While Babylon was loud, he didn't mind sharing information he already knew.

"Before Ares became Queen of the Dark Mirror Senshi, she lead a group called the Blood Moon Court. While they were active, they'd abducted a number of Negaverse officers and tortured them, maybe even killed some," he said, wanting Tsui to know just what she was getting into. "There are those I've met from the Negaverse who are out for revenge on what they did, holding all senshi accountable, as if the actions of about a dozen or so is what's expected from the rest of us." It's what made him the most upset when they all argued... He knew the Negaverse and DMC would see them and judge them for that... and he didn't think anything could get done that way.

"Ares isn't from our world. She's not from this universe," he added, feeling like it was important to share. "There are two souls in the same body... or there were at one point," he said, wondering if the host had been killed off already... He sore... if he lost Zia because Zirconia decided to take over, he would be livid in his despair. "So... she already isn't fully in tune with how we are as humans, living here on Earth..." It made things more difficult, but no one said it would be easy.
