No time was wasted as she shifted attention again working her way out of the foxfires in a storm of claws and teeth hissing and spitting all the while as her fur stood on end. Where had they come from and who the hell was that watching over them all?

Oh <******** herd of overfriendly pooches was nothing to sneeze at, especially since they just decimated two kitty cats. "As much as I'd love to stay and chat with introductions and all that-- oh ******** grabbed Mitzi's hand.. paw.. whatever... and made a break for it! "Cheese it!"

Frightened at the sight of the giant herd and what they had just done to two others, Vixi had no desire to be 'greeted' by this... this creepy collective. Do they not care?Seeing two of the other minis run prompted her to follow. Running and hiding seemed like the best idea at this point but oh, oh she was still so very sore... "Wait, but...!" The Soul Candy didn't even bother getting her name before trying to drag her off away from the herd of foxfires, which, while this time she very much did appreciate him trying to help her, she was a Halloweener. Even in minipet form, she was determined to stand up for others, and if everyone here (who wasn't one of those weird half-formed, maybe-not-even-alive floating minis) was either a Halloweener or a minipet... Well, then she wasn't going to stand by while those foxfires hurt them, and she certainly wasn't going to run. She pulled the green mini to a stop, explaining, "No, we have to help... if there are enough of us, they'll have to split up to attack, right?" Well, okay, not really... but at least the odds of them attacking any specific mini would go down. And if they were going to be attacking other minis, it was only a matter of time before they were all in danger. Better to attack together, at least that way they'd have a chance. Of course, then another shard caught her eye. She reached over to grab it, planning to take it and then head back over to help... when the one already shrieking in her obi seemed to react poorly with it, and in a flash of light she was gone. She woke up feeling disoriented, confused, and somehow... less, back where she started. It took her a few moments to remember what she had been doing, but at least the shard in her obi and the one in her paw had both gone quiet. She tucked the new one away with the others and the key, and then scrambled back to her feet. She hadn't gone far yet, before, so she hurried back, looking for the Soul Candy, the herd of foxfires, and the minis the foxfires had been picking on. The scenes unfolding around him were disturbing at best. He couldn't discern real minipet to turned minipets. There were strange illusions floating all around, the worst of which was torn pieces of dismembered minis. And fragments. Somehow, they seemed to be the key to all this. Otto dashed at one that was merging with a minipet's head. He could only imagine what would happen if they fully merged. He didn't want to let that happen, and clamped down on it with his teeth. What he wouldn't give for hands again, as he pulled at the fragment. Suddenly the minipet's eyes opened, and it began to thrash and bite at Otto. The noises it made hurt Otto's canine senses, wincing and pulling with all his might. After much struggle, he kicked at the thrashing malformed pet, and pulled out the fragment in the process. Eager to gain some distance, he ran some few feet away, taking a rest to try and stash the fragment in his hat with the key he had.

Okay, this? This was freaky. This was even freakier than actually having four legs and a tail. Madison's fur bristled of its own accord; Kouki hovered protectively in her mind. She carefully moved around the mutilated creatures, shuddering... ... A fragment flared in front of her, and she reached out to it, unthinking. Still curled protectivly around her precious, the Frinny's ears swiveled around as she noticed something else, another shard! She looked down at the one she was protecting.. the one inside the sweet smelling flower. Should she leave precious to go find another? Would that be...cheating? Nono, clearly if she had TWO precious it would be more than enough yes? That way she could protect two, double the work but double the satisfaction! Because it was so close she snaked a tail out, hopeful to snag it and pull it back... Only to get the shock of her life. And have the second precious disappear. ...Yup only guarding this one, screw any of the others! There can only be one. For a second she thought it was the bird creature, and then she realized there was a fragment there - - the bird-creature suddenly shrieked into 'life', clinging to her and fighting her, shrieking in a strange tongue she could not understand. A thin, strange shriek seemed to emanate from the thing, but... well. She carefully pulled it into her possession. Rin owl just watched from a somewhat safe distance as the cats were all gobbled up by fuzzy puffy doggies. Lord she ******** wished she had some popcorn for this. The only other downside was it was over rather quickly. Hardly a show at all, really.
All the disappointment as she pranced over to wait for them to respawn with the trolliest owlface she could muster. Which unfortunately just looked like an owl that was going to pass a pellet soon.

Mort? Mort. That name sounded familiar ....
Edel paused with a bit of a stupid expression on her face. Nope. Snapping back into a hostile mood, the wyvling slithered towards the spoilers, away from the flowers, preparing to attack. Just as she was was about to strike, she suddenly didn't feel so lightheaded anymore. Spinning around, she sniffed the clear air, wondering what was wrong.
Huh, she had no idea.
Turning back to Mort, she stared at him for a long time before it finally came back to her.
“Mort!” she exclaimed in recognition, finally. Boil was she glad he was here too – no wait she wasn't, were all of them stuck like this too? Kiwi blinked his round pixiepuff eyes. It wasn't a trick of his imagination. In fact, the more the boil stared to her, the more he almost thought to recognize this minipet ghoul.
" ... Heidla?? ..." he whispered, his hushed voice half uncertain, half astonished. But if this were indeed the Death priestess he knew so well, something seemed amiss. He could sense something troublesome surrounding her. "Yes, it's me, Kiwi. ... What's troubling you?? ..."
He eyed her with concern.

Heidla tried to jump out of her enraged confusion. "Rawwwr, whooooa... it hurts!", she complained whiningly to Kiwi who revealed himself. "The voices inside my head keep telling something about my mission.... and inevitable betrayal.... And I still don't get it! What is our mission, Kiwi? What are we doing here?" She hissed and jumped around, as if fighting for the control over her mind, and was clearly in a battle mood, yet towards the horseman pixiepuff she showed no aggression, as if something was keeping her from seeing an enemy in him. Kiwi only wished he could help. Seeing Heidla wrestling with herself like this was unnerving at best. He struggled not to form his mouth into a frown and focused on her question. "We are trying to reverse this ... curse?? to become horsemen again, not minipets, and hopefully find our way back to the Clan." He eyed the nonsensical darkness they sat within. "I think ... these fragments are pieces of the portal that shattered. If we can collect enough of them, we might be able to return to normal."

Harrison's mood was unimproved by being smothered to death by a bunch of pomeranians.
By the time he reformed, he was ready to kill something or someone all over again, but mostly he felt betrayed. It was a miracle he was standing there at all. He wasn't even sure if he was all there- he had the distinctly cold and eerie feeling that something had been taken from him.
Respawn point, B0nez said, with the some satisfaction.
