"B-but you said...," whimpering sniffle.
Rin hesitantly got to her feet uncertain this was a test or some sort of trick, "Okay.. where are they?" yes, she really couldn't heart the orders earlier. But apparently as she stood up she stepped right on one and recoiled as sand shifted away to reveal it.
Oh. Okay, she totally meant to do that.

After seeing Sasha murder her own Rin summoned Byr forth and closed her eyes trying to swing him at the melon she had uncovered like a golf club. But missed it, somehow.

Sighing, Ami turned to Wilson(ette) and said, "Junpei ... wants to go in the water." Was that a weird request? "Wanna come? We can look for watermelons too ..."
She noticed two hunters she hadn't seen before, one of which was looking a little green around the gills. Maybe they were new? "Hey, why don't you two come too?" she asked, gesturing towards the water, and the watermelons.

Rin frowned down at the intact melon and after squaring her hips tried again with a mental 'fore!' followed by a messy whack and chunks of melon spraying everywhere. At least the horrible brutal murder of the plant made her feel better though the look in her burning red eyes was clearly still sorrowful.

Having her tattered hunter coat was comforting, but swimsuit plus summoned was…weird. It looked pretty weird. Wilson stuck out her tongue before she reluctantly put on the mask. Her face was going to heat up pretty soon, wasn’t it? She shifted in place as she turned toward Ami. There was a moment of hesitation before she nodded her head. “Okay.”
She turned toward Kat and slowly waved. It would have been more enthusiastic, but these giant boobs made it rather difficult. “Hey.” Ami gestured for a couple others to come over—wow that was unusual yet nice—and turned toward them. Wilson half-nodded to them in greeting.

Oh, so this was a legit mission then. Deryk wasn't so sure about this whole watermelon business though. He saw some of the others find some, and it wasn't long before he managed to uncover one of his own. It looked like an ordinary watermelon, but apparently it was some sort of egg.
He still wasn't so certain.

And so Deryk went on and summoned Tooley, staring down at the big melon. It was a stationary thing so he really shouldn't have any trouble. Even with the giant breasts. Extending the blade, he stabbed straight down into the watermelon several times to cut it down and break it apart.
Hidden blades weren't really good for melon smashing unfortunately. No. It made him kind of wish he had a hammer right now.
That thought made Tooley a little huffy to hear.

She looked down and spotted a flash of green. Wilson bent down to wipe away some sand to uncover a watermelon. The trainee cocked her head. She still didn’t understand why these watermelons had to be destroyed. Watermelons were tasty. She might have even taken a bite if she wasn’t wearing a freaking mask, but then they had said these were babies, so…
There was an indignant cry from the weapon when she lifted her canons and squashed the melon. Yup. Looked like a regular watermelon on the inside, too. Oh well. Hopefully the mission details would become clear soon. She shook the melon juice off of her weapon.

Destroying ... watermelons? No, wait. Destroy them before they hatch. Okay, they weren't watermelons. Eggs of some kind, then.

It was amazing how nice people were to you when you were wearing next to nothing Rep found, and he'd recounted some entirely made up tales about where he got his scars to people at the bar, before wandering back over to the gathered chaos that was the other hunters. A lot of the civilians on the actual beach appeared to have gotten the hell out of there, perhaps wisely.
But now there were melons. And a lot of yelling about killing them.
He wasn't sure where melons came from or if this was some kind of natural habitat, but he didn't half mind them as fruit went.
He sipped some sort of blue cocktail through a twisty straw and just watched curiously for a bit.

There were sandy lumps all over the beach. Jordan picked one and kicked at it, and found, rather to his disappointment, that instead of a melon, he'd uncovered a nasty lump of rotting seaweed. Unexpected hazards.
