Rinkou was now up to the last of the her hand seals, the fabled associate of her clan's element. She first did the snake seal, but then released both her index and middle fingers and pointed then upwards into the sky. She liked the feeling of it, it just felt natural to do this hand seal, like it was in her blood to just know it. She realized then she couldn't escape who she was, where her blood came from. But she never really wanted too escape it, she just never wanted to know her clan. She then tightened the hand seal a little.
"Tiger Seal!" She felt a greater tingle all over her body then what she felt with the other seals. It was exhilarating.

Rhaim listened to the explanation of the grading of his performance in the obstacle course and sighed. While he definitely didn't want to fall short of the standards for Sound shinobi, he really didn't want to drag the day on by requiring further assessments. However the teen nodded in understanding to everything that was said. He didn't want to come off as rude either so looking as if he wasn't listening was out of the question. That being said he still looked very indifferent or perhaps bored with the situation. Hands in his pockets, eyes slightly squinting, and a slight slouch in his shoulders.

Without saying anything to the instructor the teen stepped up to the first obstacle of the course. The blades swinging about at such a slow and methodical motion made him want to ask if it was for real. Even if he was too dumb to time the blades, they were slow enough that it didn't matter. He thought about using the Body Flicker technique to get through them quicker or attacking the mechanisms to jam the blades in place. In the end those options felt like they would take too much effort. Hands in pockets he proceeded through the blades with another sigh.

The first of the swinging blades proved to be no issue whatsoever. With a simple step he found himself between it and the second blade. The teen wanted to gaze back over his shoulder at the proctor to ask if it was all really necessary. However he knew the answer to that and thus kept his head and eyes ahead of him. There was nothing for him really to do but keep moving forward through the course as quickly as he could. The time that it took for the second blade to swing out of his way seemed to verge on eternity. If he had timed it right then he would be taking a slow step and waiting for each blade.

Just like with the first blade, the teen stepped casually between the second and third blades. As he had suspected the next one was directly in front of him impeding his movement through the course. Had he honestly felt that he was strong enough he would have tried punching through the things. However he was not someone who excelled in upper body strength like a certain Tenma. Rhaim was caught up in thoughts of his old friend as he waited for the blade to pass so that he could continue onward. He had never considered what might come of her since he and his siblings had been separated from Kononha.

His thoughts on the younger girl continued as he stepped past the third blade and waited on the fourth. The wooshes of air setting and audible pace for him to go off of if he ever got something caught in his eye that prevented him from seeing the slow swings of the weapons. He would have to remember not to ever set up anything so primitive of his own if he made such traps to guard and campsite in the future. Rhaim did wonder how Tenma would fare in the event given that she prided herself on athletic prowess. With a sigh though the teen's mind was back on the task at hand, however easy it seemed to be now that he was in it.

As he pressed on through the next blade he considered that he should not take his movements so lightly. While it seemed simple for the time being, there was no rule that stated that the blades had to stay on their set course at their set pace. In fact it seemed to reason more that a shinobi would build in a false sense of security in to the course to keep overly confident ninja off balance. Not wanting to be such a ninja himself, the young Nara set his mind back on the swinging weapons and his need to traverse them. He concentrated on keeping his thoughts off of topics such as old friends and on the task at hand. It wouldn't help in the least to have good friends if he was too dead to enjoy them.

As the next blade finally made it's way out from in front of him, Rhaim stepped up to the next one. His hands were a bit looser in his pockets now since he expected to need them to stop some unseen threat. That threat however never manifested and the boy was left with his own thoughts on just how the course would increase in difficulty. He didn't want to be caught with his pants down and give Yuzuki more of a reason to place that pen to paper. His eyes scanned the area waiting for anything to pop out and assault him, or some genjutsu to engulf him, or new enemies to appear. None of which occurred as he waited for the blades to swing in time as the had without fail thus far.

Still eyeing the area the teen took another ginger step between blades and found himself unscathed. The which he was actually quite glad about considering the fact that those blades appeared to be rather sharp. He almost swore that they even had some blood stains still on them as they swung. The teen didn't want to imagine who the poor unlucky soul was who was unable to navigate the weapons. However in all fairness it wasn't a difficult task so perhaps it was for the best that people got weeded out on it. Though a bit of a harsh way to get kicked out of the Academy at least it was a straight forward one that left no room for question. He was glad that at least he didn't find it as unruly.

The young Nara stepped through yet another swinging blade without receiving any damage to his person. He was beginning to think that the last swinging blade would be lined with all manner of explosive tags set to knock him back through all of the others to make his effort seem entirely futile. Despite not looking back at the man with the clipboard named Yuzuki, he was certain he could feel eyes burning into him. He just hoped that he hadn't become the victim of some genjutsu that made him think that he was succeeding when he was really crashing through every one of them and tearing his body up. If there was one thing he hated it was genjutsu.

As another blade was navigated by the young shinobi a sense of fear for his life crept over the boy. A sneeze had worked it's way onto him suddenly as he was still in the path of the blade. While he was easily out of harms way by the time he released the bodily fluids, the thought of his mangled body still crossed his mind. It was however quickly set aside when he realized that he had sneezed, panicked, and regained himself all in time to step back through the blade behind him if he so chose. Of course he did not so choose given how long the beginning of the course was taking. He was likely getting docked all sorts of points since he was taking so long. The end however was finally in sight.

With a sigh Rhaim moved past the final swinging blade. With a shake of his head he tried to clear his thoughts for the upcoming challenge. Before he did though he turned to look back at the device and reflect on his decision. Hindsight being what it was he nodded to himself understanding that if he had allies with him who were following he would have taken the time to dismantle the weapons for their sake. With another sigh through his nose and a shrug of his shoulders the boy pulled his left hand from his pocket. He pulled the balaclava up over his mouth and nose and resigned himself to carrying on with whatever the course held for him.

Rhaim came up to a spike pit next. Scattered throughout it were rather skinny poles obviously meant to be used to navigate the treacherous pit. He took a few moments to study the event before concluding that he could probably move through it rather easily if he applied some of the capoeira he had trained on. The contorting of his body would be perfect for moving about it in a methodical fashion. After pulling his hands from his pockets for a very quick stretch he set to work moving across the spike pit. The initial pole was close enough to the edge of the pit for him to place his right foot on it. However there was not enough room for another appendage, thus starting his pole dance.

With a feeling of confidence in his ability to continue his movement the teen reached out to the next pole with his right hand. Surprisingly he was able to make the transition rather smoothly and rather slowly. Despite not having great upper body strength he was plenty flexible and had a decent core for a boy his age. With a sigh in his odd position the Nara Genin tilted his head about to find his next destination and whether he would be using his free hand or foot to get to it. While usually not confident of himself he was feeling really good about being able to navigate this obstacle as well. Though he knew that he didn't want to, it was looking more likely that he would be doing a second course after all.

As his eyes scanned through the poles and spikes the boy came to his next destination. He swept his right leg up towards his right hand he came to rest with it nearly doing the splits. Rhaim was breathing with his mouth open now, given that this was not a move he was accustomed to or well versed in. Had he been a touch less limber he certainly would have fallen into the pit at that point. The situation was still under control but also still very precarious given how near he was to being impaled. Not something that he wanted to have happen to himself by any stretch of the imagination. His eyes searched over the pit from his lowered vantage point for the next spot to move to with speed. He didn't want to be stuck like that longer than he needed to be.

Having finally found a suitable location for his to move to, Rhaim set out to continue through the pit. With his right hand and foot still firmly planted the young boy rotated his hips so that his entire body came over himself and his left foot came down on a pole on the opposite side of his body. Thus he was now more or less on his back staring up at the sky. A sky which he imagined would look so much better if he were napping in a tree rather than running some ninja obstacle course. With a sigh he tilted his head back to find the edge of the pit so that he could maneuver out of it. The only hope of getting a nap was to finish the events and get a passing grade from the instructor.

The teen Nara had no problem finding the far side of the pit. What posed a challenge was forcing both his right hand and foot from their posts and lifting his body up and over with his left leg. Every muscle in that appendage was screaming in fiery pain as he orchestrated the move. Despite the whole pit endeavor being slow and painful for Rhaim it was actually executed rather smooth and quick. Had he performed it near as slow as he thought he was going he would have fallen for sure. Once on the other side of the pit the boy sighed through his nose and stretched out his arms and shoulders. All before thrusting his hands back into the depths of his pockets.

'Dang... can't think straight.' thought makoto as he placed his right hand behind his head, well what ever he was not going to give up now of all times because he could not focus. He placed his hands back together and started to recap on all of the hand signs he had already learned, he needed everything to get him threw the day. Bird, boar, dog, dragon, rabbit, horse... this was the six he had learned in the past few minutes, soon he wanted to know more. He wanted to learn the rest with any fail, but failures are what was needed... they were human after all.

Ox... the creature of strength, Capable of plowing fields that were needed to produce valuable crops that people could use. They were strong and hardy, they were also deadly if crossed. He liked the symbol of strength that they offered as an animal, but strength was not everything... it's how they used it that makes if a gift or a curse. placing his hands together to create the hand sign, makoto started to follow up on his practicing accordingly until he had completed it... he dived into the next one.

' Dang.... why again... ' thought makoto as he sighed in despair, his mind just was not in the zone anymore... or was it bad luck... he could never tell which was which. Regardless of this however, Makoto finally decided that it was possibly time for him to do something he should not be doing.... nope, not happening. placing his hands together, makoto was ready to try again with the hand signs.

Monkey... one of the creatures in this world that is the closest to a human. Their mental state is very small yes, but they could still use tools and stuff if trained properly. But even so, he was not going to judge the the fact that monkeys could be as deadly as human were. Then again, he would not have let it pass like that... regardless of this, Makoto started on his hand signs again but got it mixed up with the dragon sign. ' that was off. ' thought makoto with a sigh, he was not happy about it at all... but soon it was completed. " Well... on to the next one. " spoke makoto with a dark smile, he was going to ace this.

Monkey: Saru

Ram... The male sheep, protects it's herd with mighty horns and wool that was be mistaken for armor. Well very light armor to be honest, he was not so sure anymore. Still... he liked the idea behind the ram, to have protection while having the means to defend ones self. Then it hit him, he needed armor too in case he entered a battle. But with that in mind, Makoto placed his hands together in front of him again. Hard as a ram, strong as an ox, smart as a dragon... makoto could feel it, it was his calling. He completed his hand sign, but now he was interested in creating armor for himself.

The Rat... a small, disgusting creature that many girls feared. But that was them, To him... Rats meant stealth. Secretly hiding from the world, to enter and leave a place unnoticed after doing massive damage that has gone un-noticed. The rat was stealth, Stealth was a key to power for any shinobi. Used correctly and in the right possible way, It could be used to destroy villages, overthrow empires and even topple the gods themselves. Shinobi always used stealth, but to use stealth is to know silence... he was familiar with silence. placing his hands together, he started weaving his hand sign... in the end, it was perfect.

Snake... The Serpent, The Coiler and The Devil's form. Such a creature that has no legs or feet, can stand itself up and strike at people with it's teeth. Most snakes are very poisonous, it not deathly alone. No wonder it's made it's way into the hand signs that everyone knows today, Still... poison, a very effective weapon he could use against the enemies of the world. Medical ninjas have found a way past the veil to extract poisons, but he wondered if the poisons they extracted could be used for other uses too. placing his hands together, a snake like smile crept on his face as he started. weaving his hand signs, he styarted to practice before he realized that it had already been completed... yes, he was near the end.

Rhaim left the pit of spike filled doom only to find himself at a large boulder and instructions to get it to the top of a small mound. The boy raised an eyebrow at what seemed like a rather strange test for Academy Student hopefuls but eventually shrugged it off. He walked around the rock once to determine the best course of action for getting it up the hill. Without much delay he came to the conclusion that it would be best accomplished by hoisting the object up the hill with a series of rope, tackles and a small rock to keep the boulder from slipping back towards him. The teen set to work taking the rope and some mechanical pieces from his backpack. He installed the rope around the rock and through some trees at the top of the mound. He used the mechanical parts to piece together tackles as best he could.

With enough switch backs in the rope and pulley system in place to cut down on the work that he needed to exert on the rock, the young Nara sighed in hopes of success. To his delight as he pulled down on the rope he found that the movement of the rock was fairly easy. He nodded in satisfaction as he placed the small rock underneath the large one to keep it from slipping too much as he continued. As he set about pulling the rock a slight bit more he found himself considering how a fulcrum and lever would have fared in the test. He came to the conclusion, as rope slid along metal, that a board and rock while more simple would require more people to ensure that the boulder did not crash back down the hill.

[1 FAIL]While caught up in thought the rope slipped a little and the rock almost came back down on top of the boy. However he was able to catch it just quick enough to let it only roll over his foot a bit. It took a bit of fighting through pain to get the large stone off of his foot. A short moment of thinking to himself had caused him to lose focus and crush his own foot. With a shake of the head the boy silently condemned himself for looking like such a fool in front of the instructor. Likely it was some twisted form of karma for the confidence that he had been feeling on the previous two obstacles. If any of his sisters had seen him do that he wouldn't hear the end of it for weeks.

Growling to himself, he was finally close to finishing his big break. He was about to learn hand signs but he really felt as if he was forgetting something... something very important. Armor, Training, Academy life and... Realization hit him as sweat started pouring down quickly, oh man, how could he possibly forget that detail already? ' I got to finish up quickly, my alchemy lesson's need to continue... for that matter my training. ' Thought Makoto as he closed his eyes and started thinking on the next and final symbol.

Wait... what? why could he not remember anything? this was not like him, he needed to know as fast as possible. Jumping over the first deck, makoto ran and jumped his way to his deck before reading up the hand sign he had completely forgotten about. No it was not the ram, or the boar, or even the dragon... it must have been the tiger, yes... the tiger was the missing link. sitting on the head of his deck, makoto started to read and take in the information he needed. It was already to the point where he knew everything he could learn about that... it was now time for him to try again.

Rats... why is it not working anymore. He needed to get out of here and fast, he was very eager to take the wooden armor to the new level. But before he could do that, he needed to finish this class quickly. Hissing in disgust at this terrible thing he came to know as luck, Makoto had just about had all he could take of it as well. He needed to to do finish it now, he could not wait anymore. The moment he had finished it, he was leaving for that armor.

Makoto, finally on fire speak. " Screw this! " slamming his hands together he started weaving the hand signs in the order that he learned them, completing the tiger hand sign at long last. The tiger... the feline with speed and power behind it's back, also a good attack and his speed made up for it's weak defense. Speed, power, defense, intelligence and wisdom was what he needed, if the jutsus granted him such then he would approve of them. But sadly he had no time to lose. Tossing the book back in his deck, Makoto jumped off his desk and landed in the front of the classroom. " Tell the teacher, i'm off to work. " Spoke makoto to the people closest to him, before leaving the class room and the academy in general. (( exit ))

Rinkou was now ready to begin learning her first technique, the Bushin no Jutsu, the clone that will look exactly like her. it shouldn't be turn hard, due to looking in the mirror a lot with her sisters, and playing around with each other hair, and all those things girls love to do. But really, she only did it so that her sisters were happy. A lot of think wanted to be medic-nin, but they all knew she would be a fighter.
And so, remembering her face was the most important part, that had to be the same. But really, her chakra should have naturally attuned itself to her looks anyway. She did the unique seal of the Bushin that was in the scroll, and summoned forth the clone. It was like some weird mixture of different parts from her sisters. She failed completely on her first try.

Bunshin no Jutsu (Clone Technique)
This is a basic technique taught to ninja at an academy. Bunshin no Jutsu creates one or more clones of the user, which can be used as a means to create a diversion, distraction, or cause confusion. These illusory clones will simply disappear if come into contact, and cannot do anything to damage the opponent.
Cp cost: 1 pt. per clone.
Dice Rolls: 1 Roll
Damage: N/A
Requirements: Learn in the academy.
Training: 1 stage
Stage I: Chakra Control DC 10 Use your chakra to create a model of yourself. Pay special attention to details so that your clone and yourself will be hard to distinguish apart.
Special: Can create 1 per 5 ranks in Chakra Control. The user numbers each of their clones individually. The attacker does a random number check to see what they hit.
To See Through Clones: d20 + 1/2 the user's int mod + half the user's chk mod vs. d20 + opponent's int. mod. Opponent will target the real ninja among the clones.
