For once, he didn't immediately jerk away when Westhor took his hand. He didn't exactly return the gesture, but his fingers may have curled ever so slightly around his bro's in an attempt to comfort him. While Macthor was one who usually kept his emotions in check, Westhor always seemed rather open with his. The look on his face was enough of an indication that the poor boil was distressed about what was happening.
He was not, however, apparently ready to give up. A part of Macthor admired him for this, but the other part--a slightly more selfish part--was aghast at the idea of leaving their third Thor-bro behind. He knew that it was necessary, but...
"We...we can't. I mean, what if something happens to him while we're gone?" There were only a certain few who the thunderbird really cared for, and Akithor was one who at the very top of the list. If he had to choose between acquaintances or his bro, the choice seemed pretty obvious to him. Or at least, it did--looking around at how things were turning out now, he wasn't so sure that sitting back and observing would do anyone any good right now. Perhaps...it was finally time for him to do something?
Lips pressed into a thin line, he turned to look at Tarot. She was a nice ghoul, and she had his respect (if only because he was certain that he'd be the brouncle to Tarot's scareling in the future). "What do you think?"

d**kIt wasn't as though d**k was thinking they needed him to protect them - that wasn't it at all. It was simply that he was going to be a better wall and damage soaker at that point in time than a damage dealer.
His limbs were still numb from the reaper's weapon, he wasn't going to be swinging his fists anytime soon.
"This whole mess stinks, though. Couldn't it have waited until after graduation to make us do all this?" he joked - obviously they would have all gotten involved either way. It was turning into one last hurrah together before they went out into the world.

Ashly had stood back and listened to the others, coughing into her arm occasionally as she waited for something to happen. nobody really seemed to have any idea what to do at this point, and it was with some amount of aggravation that the smoker zombie found herself sinking against a wall and sliding down to the stoney floor below. And then her "partner" arrived, and startled out of her current coughing fit, she pushed herself back up to her feet. "what did you expect me to do?" she rasped, even as several members from other factions began to arrive. What was this now? Ashly was suddenly too distracted by the new onslaught of information that was provided to continue on... ....and then a crackling sound in the air had her instantly on her guard, and while several of her friends, including Callie and Moira, were trapped by odd looking nets, she stumbled to the side, narrowly missing getting trapped herself. "Oh for the hatred of....candle jack, Callie, what have you gotten yourself wrapped up in?" she managed to gasp out before another coughing fit took over, her eyes sweeping over everybody who had now been captured. Cricket was telling those who could leave, to leave, and saying that she would stay behind, but what kind of defender would Ashly be if she didn't stay here to protect her friends. "I'm not leaving." She rasped out, towards anybody who was listening or might care. "they've been trapped for a reason, trussed up and ready to be packed off, more then likely." and if nobody stayed behind to protect them, what chance did they have? Ashly is choosing to stay behind to try and help those who have been trapped

How Avery managed to lose sight of someone who was lit up like a freaking light bulb would forever stump the behemoth. Really, it was the only thing he could see and then bam! Gone! He lost Westhor, just like that.
Oh well. It wasn't like the place was a maze, built specifically to get them lost. He'd just stumble around in the dark for a bit longer until--
"OW!"
What the Jack?
Avery barely heard the soft crackle before the net quickly closed in around him. The cave now echoing with electricity. It was painful to say the least, and every effort the behemoth made to free himself only caused him more damage rather than help. To put it simply, he was trapped.
Avery is trapped 8T

Westhor wrapped them both in a hug and she gladly returned it, awkward as her position was. When he let go of them both, Tarot took a step back and took in the teary expression on the boil’s face. She frowned, her hand automatically searching out for Westhor’s until she intertwine her fingers with his. Tarot gave his hand a reassuring squeeze. “Of course we’ll come back for him.” His decision to move forward surprised her, but she didn’t disagree with it. Something was awry with the cave. There would be more traps, she knew, but Tarot wanted to get to the root of everything.
When Macthor turned toward Tarot for her opinion, she pursed her lips for a moment before she reluctantly answered, “I think Westhor’s right. We should continue on and see who’s behind this.”
Her phone vibrated and she saw Arcana’s message. Slowly, she typed out a message with one hand.Nyxtsuki Moon Text to Arcana I'm alright. I'm at the blocked passage, but it's open now. What happened to the students? Where'd they go?

((enter)) Selene and Arcana reached the cave in record time. Perhaps Arcana was just anxious to see his sister again. Or, more likely, they were both anxious to get as far away from the scene they'd just witnessed as possible. Whatever the case may be, when they entered, Selene was still a small, curled up body in Arcana's arms, and she peeked her head out quickly to see who was there. Tarot's face was the first one she saw, and her eyes lit up briefly in happiness, only to crumple in sadness. "Tarot.." She reached her arms out for the ghoul. "It's all so terrribbleee.."

When the net fell on him, Zeke reacted with hyena-fast reflexes. Actually, due to his natural ability of enhanced senses, the next few actions were probable. However, escaping, not so much.
His senses told him he wasn't going to get out in time-- so the gargoyle would find a notebook and attached-pen thrown at his face.
It would be a moment before it registered with Skylar, if he wasn't caught yet, that Zeke was caught. It really was incredibly painful to move, much less get out.
"Tch."
The painful grunt, as Zeke tried to reach into his pockets. But he couldn't dig his phone out. "H-Hey Sky .. Can I ask a favor?" Considering Zeke's precious notebook was thrown at Skylar and what Zeke was always doing, it wasn't hard to guess what the favor was.

When Zeke called, asking for a favour, he was answered with an exasperated sigh.
"Does it look like I can carry out any favours?" He asked. Like Zeke, the gargoyle had also been snagged in the net. The pen and notepad the hyena had thrown at him laying a few inches from his face on the ground. "Tell you what. Maybe when I can stand vertical, I'll hear your request."
Skylar has the worst luck known in the history of TiH and got caught.

[enter] Dragain Message to Malcolm: hey. some of the students are gone. that reaper's bad news. quibble is a jacking liar. i'm ...backspace backspace backspace... Continued Message to Malcolm bee is ok. we're all going to the cave. There. Malcolm was all caught up and he'd just have to let her do that solid favor for him this time, because it wasn't like she could take the text back at this point. With Bee in tow, as per usual, she made her way into the cave with a newfound purpose. If she didn't find Quibble's sorry a** here, he was gonna punch him. And maybe get suspended and have to wait another year to graduate, but it'd be worth it this time.

Two nets dropped down past her, snagging Zeke and Skylar as they arrived. Another came at her, but thankfully, she easily avoided it with a side step. "Tch..looks like a lot more is happening here than I had first thought.."
Kneeling down to the two, Ava moved to touch one of the nets but drew her hand back when zapped by the damn thing. "Hmm, always something.." Standing to her full height, Ava's vine like claws slowly extended from beneath her sleeves as she stood guard in front of the boils. If any enemies dared to come near them, she would strike them down, or die trying.

Just as soon as the Musimon was lifting himself off the ground, the sparks started to fly. Literally. He bleated and jumped, rolling in a way that allowed him to avoid the electrical nets. Huffing and puffing, he stood shakily to his feet. Where had this come from? Certainly the Reaper had set it up; the man couldn't be trusted. They had known that - that's why they fought him. That's why they would defy him. The mysterious Reaper - he wasn't getting away with this bull crap.
When Cricket told everyone to go ahead, he was torn. Defending the healer was his job, but he'd been told to move. So...he moved. He ran ahead, not looking back. Time to defend.

"I made Akithor bro a promise to come back! I-I will keep that promise, bro!" He nodded, his voice breaking up; he didn't want to leave his bro behind either, but they had to move forward... He had a feeling that staying here would just be bad news for all of them, "A-and... Cricket sister is staying behind, so... So..." He started to tear up, "YOU HEAR THAT AKITHOR BRO?! WE'LL BE BACK FOR YOU, AND THEN WE'LL TAKE ANOTHER CHILL BRO PHOTO."
It was a promise... Right?
Giving both Tarot's and Macthor's hands a squeeze, he was about to take a step towards the cave opening when the arrival of several familiar faces caused him to stop. His hands were preoccupied with clinging onto his friends', and he could see that Arcana's hands were full too, so he did not offer them a hug. He did, however, offer them a grin, despite the tears in his eyes.

Malcolm could feel his phone vibrating, but thanks to the net over his legs, did not have the energy to reach for it; instead, he continued to lay there, frowning. The cave was just there... It was so close.

A rumble, a shake... and a really odd glow emerging from the came around them. It was in designated points, begging the question for someone to approach closer and try and see... Only that was NOT such a good idea. The nets flew out of no where and attached itself to her leg. She went down a moment later as her body burned from that point on her leg and up. Trying to take it off, involuntary reaction really, just burned even worse, hell... after a few seconds even moving was a chore. Looking around as best she could from her spot on the hard floor, she noticed two things. A: The door was open again... and B: Some others decided to stick around. Cricket was one that stuck out even more. "FOOLS. Whatever these things are could fire off again if you stay... move!" If anyone dared approach her she would have snapped on them too, telling them to leave her be and to move on. ...Anyone else around pyre/that is staying put

Kani twitched between the pain, curling in as her scorpion tail jerked in response. This wasn't just a trap, but the netting felt like it was trying to make it's captive mush. She didn't like mush.
Kani is trapped.
