Post: 6 Cape fluttering in the wind, The Shade watched intently. He needs to learn an attacking move and watch these two duke it out might help. At the very least some kind of defense woul be great. And without his bone too, oh the horror! "Cubone cu cu bone cu cubone." The Shade muttered to himself as he kept watching. Nolan couldn't tell that Kiera was being distracted by a wild pokemon hanging around on the fringes of the clearing. He had his own problems right now, like being in the wrong spot at the wrong time, and getting sand blown all over him. Meanwhile, the Pound closed Hippopotas's mouth abruptly, making the bite miss Wispy. Instead the lunge turned into a bump of her wide nose, but the Hippo kept lumbering forward. The Bite attack changed back into a slow Tackle, but one that was trying to trample Wispy with weight. If Nolan knew what was going on, he would have had a problem with it. This was a Hippo that liked throwing her weight around - all 109 pounds of her. LUXIO LV.15 | TAILLOW LV.14 | HIPPOPOTAS LV.16 | #oo138 || ProfileLOCATION || Outskirts of Blyse.

Post: 7 The Shade called out "Cu-boooooooon!" In Poketalk, this meant >Go ground tyyyyype!< in a polite cheering tone. What? He liked Pokemon battles! He grabbed hold of his cape and swung it in front of him, shielding him from the breeze that had been getting annoying. Geez, was it always like this? Sand flew around him, but being ground type, he was unfazed. A lucky little ability that was. That and he learned from a trainer that tried to catch him, that he couldn't feel recoil. Something about the ability called Rockhead. Heck if he knew but he liked that! The sandstorm abated just some when the Whismur was recalled, and Nolan was finally able to get his bearings to see what had happened. Kiera was going for her last pokemon, being the shiny Yanma again. Even though Hippopotas didn't show it, Nolan knew those Uproars had to seriously hurt, yet Yanma had already taken some nasty hits from Valor and Twill. Actually, Nolan thought his team just might win this after all. If Hippopotas could outlast Yanma, maybe the sandstorm could do the work for them. But there was a cheering voice he hadn't heard before, and it wasn't one of Kiera's other three pokemon on the sidelines. Nolan glanced over his shoulder, just in case, and then tried to wrack his brain for a good way for Hippopotas to hit Yanma in the air. She couldn't even jump for all he knew. Sand Attack was her only ranged move, but then in an instant he had it - Hippopotas had no trouble with Twill before. "Use your Yawn!" Nolan shouted his order just as the sandstorm began to intensify again, aimed more upwards at the flying bug. The Sonic Boom cut right through the swirling sand, slamming into the pokemon down below. No use in trying to dodge, she was too slow. Hippopotas nodded at her trainer, relieved that the human wasn't a total dunce, and actually had a pretty good idea. She looked up at the Yanma and then looked weary and yawned, ever so sleepy. It would take awhile to kick in, and Nolan just hoped the Hippo could hold on until then. "More sand! Sand-Attack!" Hippopotas didn't think it would any good, but she did as she was told, since maybe this second idea would prove its worth. She put more focus into just the sandstorm, making it thicker and thicker, but so weighed down with sand, it wouldn't reach very high. 'Come on, hold out, Hippopotas ...' Nolan clenched his jaw and could feel the grit of sand between his teeth. She just had to do it. Valor and Twill had tried so hard, and Nolan didn't want to tell them he had lost after all of that effort. Especially for Valor. The mini-Sonic Booms sluiced through the sandstorm like air through water, clearing out paths in the sand. Hippopotas still didn't bother to even attempt to dodge - she would wear herself out too much and probably to no avail. She braced herself, locking her legs. Several of the smaller booms slammed into her. Here her weight and girth helped her greatly, but it was obvious that the fight was coming to an end for her too. She changed the direction of the sandstorm again as a last ditch effort, and it swirled upwards into the trees at Yanma in one large blast. But that was all she could do, and the sandstorm died down. To be honest, Nolan was pretty sure that Hippopotas was unable to battle. She was still standing, sure, but when would an official officially say that a pokemon was counted out? Buying a professional rule book would be a good idea, yet, Lukas would probably just say Nolan was wasting his money on useless junk. Well, at least now Nolan could say they won, although, that was by the slimmest margins. Kiera was an excellent trainer, and Nolan felt he was only half as good as he was, only because he was picking up so many tips from Kiera's battle style. She was so confident in her pokemon, and Nolan was about to say as much when she started to act really weird. He didn't say a word when she shushed him, and having no idea what was going on, he just recalled Hippopotas back. Then stared blankly at Kiera while she baited the ground with treats. Okay, what was out there? Now Nolan was pretty nervous, but should he be? Kiera seemed to be taking this all pretty lightly, but so long as she was tarrying in the area, he'd stick around. Hey, his pokemon were all pretty pooped out. She was supposed to be his guard on the short walk back to the center. "Um ... Kiera? What are you doing?" He asked, barely over a whisper. (I know I shouldn't have to say his but I will. Please don't catch The Shade, although I can see Kiera doing that just to cuddle him. Foolish girl >=3 )) Post: 8 The Shade leapt at the food. "Cubone bone!" he said grabbing one and promptly putting it in his mouth. >Foolish girl! The treats are mine!< Of course he had no idea that she placed it as a trap. Geez, they tasted like bacon. And bacon was good. He popped another before making a burp and falling on his rear. Whoa, he had to know where he could steal those! Nolan wasn't nearly as impressed. Back in Lavender Town he could see Cubone just by walking out into the backyard. They found the area to be just perfect for them, even if Nolan thought they looked more like cave dwellers to him. But he didn't want to be rude, since Kiera was the excited one, and he had been just as weird over her Abra earlier. He shrugged slightly and shifted from foot to foot, eager to get going, but he wouldn't rush the other trainer. "Looks like a baby, so it probably lost his bone somewhere along the way. Sometimes they get broken until they find the exact one right for them. And you're probably right, I bet it got separated from its trainer. We should leave it alone." No sooner than he suggested it, Nolan had to rethink his position, because when he had lost his own pokemon a few times, he was just about devastated. "Or ... or, we could drop him off at the pokemon center. I bet its trainer would come by there sooner or later." Post: 9 "Calm down you little mutt." The Shade said to Brutus before handing the Eevee a snack. She looked kind of hungry. But when Nolan called him a trainers Pokemon and a BABY, the gloves were off! Then he mocked him for his lack of a bone! Thus he ranted "I am NINE! I am no baby! Also I would kill myself before I let a trainer catch me! AAAAAND my bone was stolen from a Team Rocket person!" Obviosly he was mad, as he was jumping angrily at Nolan. Taking a step back, Nolan was sure this was going to end with a serious bruise. Usually the Cubone back at home were a lot more mellow than this, but even they wouldn't feel shy about conking a human on the head for crossing them. Or worse, he'd seen Mr. Suthers after he had taken a Bone Club to the knee. The man was in bed for days, and still walks with a limp to this day. Nolan just wasn't sure WHAT he had said that angered the pokemon, so he started apologizing for everything. "Agh, sorry! S-sorry, Cubone. I didn't mean to make you angry. I won't do anything unless it's okay with you." And picking up on what Kiera said, he echoed some of her words. "Right, we just wanted to help you out, really!"
