Michael pulled his scarf tighter around himself as they entered the cave, glad now that he’d decided to wait and see if they were going to be given ridiculous costumes again before he started shedding clothes from the heat. Stumbling slightly along the dimly lit path he couldn’t help a childish giggle in his mind as something occurred to him.
Hey Nuucha now your unsummoned form is actually useful for something. You’re a backup flashlight!
<<Hey!>> the thunderbird was unable to come up with a wittier answer because it was kind of true. Even in his summoned form he glowed like nothing else. It made stealth a bit hard to be truthful. (And Michael secretly suspected the thunderbird did it on purpose because he was not the stealth kind. If you were being stealthy you weren’t smashing things.)
Michael managed to hold onto his childish glee at getting one up on the weapon even as the atmosphere got creepier and creepier. He half suspected it was the only thing that stopped him from running away because everything about this trip screamed you’re cannon fodder to him.
A few minutes later he found himself wishing he had run as they were told go through the gauntlet of arrowy painful death. As more and more of his fellow trainees and the older hunters went through and found themselves being hit he felt himself getting paler. Him and his Fear shield didn’t get along, or more accurately it sucked. His last mission should have been proof of that.
So relying on that as the only thing from stopping him getting an arrow through the brain? Not comforting.
He really really wished he knew how to get that lift to go back up.
<<Don’t nearly die like a whimp again ok?>> Nuucha added ever so helpfully as Michael found himself at the front of the line. Gulping he pulled the cord of the glow stick over his head and summoned the baton into his free hand and then took off like a maniac.
Feet pounded, arrows thudded and his heart rate and blood pressure probably went through the roof. He was almost there now though and he wasn’t hit so maybe this time he’d get luc-

Michael yelped as an uneven tile tripped him causing him to loose hold on his flare gun which he quickly scrambled for before standing up to take off again.
Thud!
The Moon Hunter hissed in pain as an arrow ripped apart the sleeve of his jacket and shirt leaving a nasty wound in its wake. His trip had stopped him just long enough for the arrows to catch up and this knowledge gave him the speed necessary to make those last few feet without taking another wound.
Safe and on the other side he took the moment to gain his breath back and inspect his wound.

Bix watched as both Gale and Molly went ahead. Cass and Marcus had also gone. Bix summoned Mina and took a breath. Arrows didn't bother him usually but it was mostly because he was firing them himself and not the target.
"Here goes nothing.." He muttered and took off.
Normally he was quick on his feet and seemed to be doing well initially but somewhere near the end he stumbled, a half a step lost to the cave floor, and in that half a step he got nailed by an arrow.
He panted on the other side, wincing a bit, but no worse for wear.

Something collided into her from behind and she squeaked, stumbling forward and quickly catching herself before turning on her heel to see who it had been. Her expression immediately went from panicked to pleasant, helping the boy stand and rubbing the back of his shoulders in a comforting motion. "An arrow got my shoulder but I'll be fine. You okay?" She couldn't exactly see any harm on him, but that could have been for any numbers of reasons. The low lightning, the angle, his clothes. Anything.

Rin readied herself in the blur of chaos. She decided to just suck up the weather in full garb but she wasn't about to go anywhere with Byr in her pocket - summoning him to her side before launching herself through the wall of arrows.
Rin... was very VERY lucky! Managing to duck and dodge every last arrow as she barreled through the obstacle coarse of arrows. Her FEAR shield managed to take no damage.

"You're hurt?"
The words came out a bit sharper than he had intended, Gale's frowning. He was, for once, grateful for the darkness that shielded his oddly pale, clammy face from being noticed. Stepping back away from Candace, he tried to see her shoulder, but it was difficult. The light was too dim to make out any specifics.
"I'm fine," he said, exhaling slowly. "I didn't get hit at all."
A small, dry smile crossed his face. "Guess being small actually came in handy for once."

Rin could move, and so could Leon.
But its hard to move when Rin is in front of you, sashaying her hips around. "Hey down in... back!" the irate boxer hollered out as Rin managed to get through without a scratch. And the entire time Nid wasn't exactly helping out. -BOB AND WEAVE MEATHEAD, BOB AND WEAVE! EYE OF THE TYGER LEON. EYE OF THE JACKING TIGER.-
Said meathead was to busy trying to run and swerve around arrows. "I get it Nid, let me concentrate now." he managed to grit out as he jerked his head back, and away from a incoming arrow that wanted to puncture him from cheek to cheek. "Left, right left duck, swerve, swerve, lean back, right, left"
-DO A BARREL ROLL!-
It was enough to make anyone want to fall flat on their face.
"GOD ******** DAMMIT NID!" -LOOK OUT!- and that was all he remembered before a arrow tried to take out his elbow and sent the life hunter tumbling out of the arrow gauntlet. "Never again man, never again." the brunette grumbled out as he rubbed at his sore elbow.

Ahhh, Ofelia was ready to get in those caves, get in there and make a mess and have an adventure and just not be terrified like most everyone else seemed to be in regards to this Cael whatever guy and his sudden desire for them to find tablets (like Rue's original form she surmised). When the levers had been moved and everyone started moving inside, she held her flashlight out and up, ready for everything. She was certain Rue would be needed less than the light, which was a bit disappointing, but the knuckleduster set didn't seem to really have an opinion. It seemed, Rue was thinking, that she wanted to get an opinion on everything before sending Ofelia to an untimely death.
For her part, once she summoned her weapon, Ofelia just followed the group and kept looking at everything in the same manner a child would in a place they'd never been before - granted she had never been there before anyway but this was totally going to be the best adventure ever! Even when stuff was dark and the weird weapon the Celsius (she hadn't cared to learn his name much) guy had was glowing. Or when he threw a rock. Or when arrows started pouring from the walls and every where. That 'Sandy' person was calling that they needed to run through them, many people had already gone ahead, and Ofelia looked down at her feet and then back at everyone else. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
Running hadn't exactly been a big thing Ofelia set out to do, she was slow, and if hadn't been for Rue screaming in her ears she would have likely just stayed down and ended up with arrows in every since of her flesh. As it was she was injured, at least she felt the pain from her shield, and she knew there wasn't much she could do if she was going to protect herself in the future. Mistakes could be made on adventures though, right? This was still a pretty cool adventure....though her legs hurt from running and maybe from the arrows coming at her.

For such a short man, Barney could run like the ******** wind when properly motivated. The Moon hunter summoned a massive troll hammer and dashed across, batting away several arrows as he went. "RWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWRG!" The ooc The next two people to attempt crossing are protected by Barney for that roll.

All the while completely unaware her a** made Leon lose as horribly as he did.

At Gale's sudden worried snap Candace blinked, giving a one-shouldered shrug. Was he...was he worried? Aw, Gale! She smiled again and hugged the boy close as he tried to step back and check on her shoulder; there was a tear in the sleeve of her coat but in the dim lighting it was hard to gauge how much of a graze it'd been. "I'm fine. Really. And I'm glad you're okay." She nuzzled her cheek against the boy's head before she let him go, patting his shoulder. "I'll be fine~. And yes, being small isn't anything to be ashamed of."Was Jerry okay? And Harrison, was he alright? Where was he. "Harrison?" She called out, looking around the room they were in now. Rep was here, as was Rin, and Robert and Bix and Molly and Cass..everyone was ma-- "RWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWRG!" "See, Gale? Being short is nothing to be ashamed of just as long as you don't make the cave collapse on us like Cat Man over there..."

Rep gave Leon a smirk as the guy all but fell off the gauntlet, supressing a laugh. "Dignified dismount mate." Sometimes he just couldn't help it. Any chance to assert himself. Any at all.
He would probably have made more goading comments if it wasn't for Barney making an astonishingly loud and wild charge across the room. Holy s**t, the little guy could book it when he had to. He applauded with a nod. "See now /that/ is how it's ******** done."

He should have known that standing with Candace equaled hugs. His face was slightly pink, but Gale leaned into it anyway, letting her ruffle his hair even as he was peering at her shoulder, trying to get a better look at her cut. It was difficult to see, the lighting dim, so all he could make out was a small tear and the very faint metallic scent of blood.
Except he was somewhat startled out of his examining by a very loud, very guttural screech. Gale winced slightly, peering around Candace to see Barney looking like a short, burly troll charging towards them.
"That's...er...well, yes."
Somehow, being so short suddenly seemed like a good thing.

His voice was abnormally raised, which rang painfully through Saya's head, her senses completely filled by Prompto's urgent voice. Although the really impressive-- should she say, masculine, male before her did a good job of blocking himself and her.
