All of a sudden there was a monster. What?! Wilson pouted, and then he just plain frowned at the shadow creature. Was he supposed to fight that thing despite being kid-sized? He watched everyone else take a swing at the thing with varying results. Eventually, the boy tugged at the oversized goggles around his neck and tried not to cry when he found it difficult to lift his weapon. “Gramps!” sobbed Wilson. “Why do you have to be so heavy?!” [Why do you have to be so little, hm?!] the weapon retorted angrily as his partner attempted to drag him toward the creature and aim the cannon at it. It didn’t really work.

Vanessa was not pleased with the fact that her amazing last hit had only done such little damage. But then again, she also wasn't pleased with the fact that she literally couldn't even pick up her weapon's front end completely.
All in all, she wasn't pleased with a lot of things right now. At least some of the other children were actually landing hits now. The still-tall trainee, Gale(?), was actually doing damage too, so that was good.
But still, little Vanessa knew they could do better. She attempted to manuever her weapon's barrel again toward the giant cannon toward the shadowy invader. She aimed as she had before, and then attempted to push the trigger of the cannon with her foot again.
Unfortunately, the weapon's bulk got the better of her, and the weapon pulled from her hands before she could fire. Volt also happened to fall on the tip of her foot. "Oww!" She yelped, pulling her foot back with a very appalled face. How could you, Volt. How could you.
Well, it could always be worse. At least she wasn't stuck under her weapon.

Then the monster just went past him anyway like he didn't even matter.
"OH YEAH?" He challenged.
When it didn't say anything back, he was at a loss. He kicked some dirt in its general direction. "I better not catch you around here again!"
He dragged sword and unicorn sorely over to where Jerry was trapped under a bazooka.
"Hey, are you stuck?" Harrison asked.

The doctor soon disappeared in the same direction as Caelius, likely having thought of something else to say to the other boy in hopes of making him cry. At Robert's apology, Clarice just sniffed and tried to take a swipe at the shadow creature herself. She was a big tough hunter, goddamnit, not some princess that needed protecting! The motion caused her to fall hard on her a** and prove that, for the moment at least, she was indeed a princess in need of protecting. HP: 18 Damage to self: 2

A muted sniffle was all that issued from the little boy who sat on the floor, obstinately cradling his wounded foot.
Wash, if you don't get up RIGHT THIS INSTANT I'll, I'll...That GIRL will think you're a SISSY.
His chin jerked up from his sullen repose, and, with new determination, dragged his partner-gone-parental-unit back into the fray. This time however, he was significantly more cautious, and instead of running in simply ROLLED his shield at the enemy.
HEY-
It cut a thin swath through the edge of the creature. "WHOO!" he bellowed victoriously, pumping his fist in the air.

Pbbbbbbbt poooobbbbt, came the sad, Kazoo reply to Harrison as Jerry struggled to lift it, only to get a face full of spines, with a frantic, kazoo-ish yelp.
Yep. Still stuck.
He was going to cry.

And because he was Robert, and no one would ever be able to teach him to stop doing this, he reached down and swept poor Clarice off her feet once he saw her fall, bouncing her once in his arms before settling her on her feet again. One arm remained around her protectively, but his eyes were still on the monster. "Careful, Clarice. It's a slippery little ********." That word coming from little Robert's voice didn't even sound that odd. One could imagine that, at 6 years old, Robert was already a potty mouth.

Jordan picked himself up grumpily. Couldn't even punch the thing. Definitely the worst day.
The sad kazoo noises caught his attention, and he went to help Harrison with getting Jerry out from under his currently oversized weapon. "You probably shouldn't touch Roar," he pointed out. "B0nez will get mad. If you put your sleeve - wait," he frowned and looked down at the ring in his hand. "Jerry. Just unsummon him."

Harrison elbowed Jordan very sharply in the side, scowl deepening.
"Well why don't you just go and tell the whole world, dumbass."
Why did he have to come over here in the first place? And what was he doing giving out information like that for free.

Huffing, Clarice just kind of... pouted sternly at the creature. At least she wasn't crying anymore, but... "Robert, I am going to kill so many things when I'm big and have boobs and a sword again. All the things, Robert. I will kill them."And was it just her or was Gale looking pretty tall?

Cass dropped Nicodemus who rattled away back into a chain, sobbing as she let go of Marcus to sit down and clutch her foot with a pathetic whine, eyes completely glossed over and her nose running.
"I SHOT MYSELF," she said, looking at Before anxiously, then beginning to sob again, curling up into a ball on the floor, her arms crossed while she snotted all over her arm.
