Alive. She was somehow still alive.

Just moments ago, she was sure she'd be dead. Whatever that thing was, it would have killed them all. (It practically had, hadn't it?) There had been screams and pain and she knew she was dead. But then something had happened...Sherry honestly didn't understand what she'd seen, part of her was sure she never would.

She just sat on the ground, clutching her weapon and vaguely aware of her wounds as she stared at the spot where the two figures had been moments ago.

His so called social interactions with Eva and the boys was cut short. That creature they assumed had fallen caused a horrid disturbance.

Otto stared into the fog as it thickened, his nerves running high as it's usual evil aura surrounded him and everyone else. The ninja reformed, leaving Otto to wonder if maybe they were in over their heads trying to take it on. Just what was he?
The ensuing attack hit Otto harder than the last blow, knocking him down before he even knew what had hit him. As things began to glow, Otto was almost certain he was dying. What surprised him was how warm and comforting death felt. He thought for sure if he died, there would be nothingness or Hell. But this? He felt so welcome, so loved. He felt as safe and secure as he had when his mother would rock him to sleep as a very small babe, singing softly to him to ease his cries.
Everything felt good. Right. He could die like this.

However, as his eyes dared to open, all was not as he thought. The scene that followed made little sense to the young hunter, and he didn't care to try. All he knew was that Dues felt a little sadder now that the strange woman was gone.

Deryk wasn't quite sure what happened just now. The ninja hadn't died, and instead took on a smaller, more powerful form. But they weren't killed. Somehow. He felt comfortable here, though he soon became worried as he realized the grandmotherly woman from the kitchen with the awesome feel-good cookies was leaving.

"Wait!" he called out, but it was too late. The two were gone, leaving him feeling a little sad.

Letting out a soft sort of whimper, he sat there on the ground.

It hadn't hit him yet that they were likely screwed due to all the damages the facility had suffered through.

Madison sat up slowly, her head pounding, certain only of one thing: never Christmas any more again.

(Or at least not until next year.)

Jerry had slowly regained consciousness from his bump to his head, just in time to see the horrible onslaught of Ninja wrath. He had been sent tumbling, cowering from the impending killing blow...

That never came.

He watched in fascinated horror as that little old lady who had been so nice with the cookies and who Candace kept INSISTING was the Real Mrs. Clause.... Perhaps it was the blows to his head but.... 'mother'? The ninja was... but that would mean that... but Santa wasn't Japanese and neither was Mrs. Clause but he supposed the red hair that appeared through the insane gray would explain that but...

He gathered himself up, crouching behind Candace as he watched the heartfelt reunion, his heart swelling but feeling empty all the same.

"Ha..." He started, but his throat was dry, his mouth not quite working, but he managed to get it out on the second try, calling out to the two figures gently, "Happy Hanukkah..." And thank you for the cookies.

Tori wanted for all of those voices to just stop as it was just so confusing to her to the voices just wanting to go home. She watched as one small figure stood there and she couldn’t move she was so dumb struck that she didn’t know what to even think when the intruder told them that he was going to kill them, even tho they had defeated him in the first place and how did the intruder survive she did not know at all.

When the attack came towards her all senses were lost and she didn’t even hear Aklin calling franticly to her. All those feelings that she thought she had locked away and thrown away the key, came flooding back to her. Tori so wanted those feeling to just go away, she didn’t want the memories that came with those feelings, and she didn’t want to relive the pain that had almost been forgotten. One of those feelings that she hated the most was how truly alone she felt right this second and wanted to disappear.

It had been the smell of cookies that had brought Tori back to her senses and to find herself flat on her back. Aklin murred in delight when his hunter had came back to her senses and she was very glad to have him there for her and desummoned himself to the Torc around her neck. Aklin murred affectionately. Tori just smiled at the elderly baker as she didn’t know what else to do.

Just like Before she didn’t know when she had stopped sparkling and thinking she was a princess, but that didn’t matter any longer. A few tears fell from her cheeks and felt sadder now as she sat up. This was something Tori was never going to forget, she truly wished the elderly baker hadn’t left but all good things do have to come to an end. Much later on she would think back on this and think that this had been one Christmas she truly enjoyed in all her life.

Tori just wanted to cry and hug someone, but thought that wouldn’t be a good idea with everyone around and sucked it up. Seeing Before come over to her and offered a hand up. She took it and with his help stood up on her own feet. “Thanks,” she said to Before.

“Sound good by me, Bix,” Tori said to Bix with hardly any emotions to her voice as she needed to do something and cleaning up sounded like a good idea.

Gale didn't really have a chance to thank Ryan for what he'd done. He knew the older hunter had taken some of the damage from him in order to keep him from...well...being as bad as it was. And he didn't even have a chance to stare dismally at Dakota with his arms around Eva.

Except they were all attacked again anyway, and then it didn't matter anymore.

He knew he was dead - it hurt too much to even be alive, and Gale could feel the pain ripping through him, and the screams - the screaming whispers (was that even possible?) reverberated inside of skull. One word surfaced amidst the chaos, one prominent, shouting, yelling word.

Home? I can't go home. I'm never going home.

I'm here for life. Home is...gone. And I'm dead.

Again.

Except...he wasn't. Dead, that was. And judging from the pained groans and mumbling from the rest of the trainees around, none of them were.

It took him a while to regain his sense of self after...whatever it was. Gale had not moved from where he lay on the floor, his head pounding painfully and a sharp, stabbing sensation in his side every time he even thought about moving. He knew it was pathetic, but it was nothing new. After all, he'd died before.

But some how this felt...different. Sadder, somehow.

Gale had watched the interaction, of course, between...mother and son, apparently. He did not understand it, but at the moment he did not even care.

It took him a great deal of effort to push himself up, wincing with the sudden rage of fire that erupted somewhere in the area of his ribs. Gale staggered to his feet, using the rifle as a prop, and, slowly but steadily, began making his way back to Headquarters.

He needed a hot shower. And a very long nap.

After he helped cleaned up after the intruders, that was.

Bix watched his friends rise and glanced around the area. The gates were pretty mangled but he wasn't sure he could do much of anything about that. Slowly things came to mind like the Mist hunters who hadn't joined them.

Evrything ok? Killed ninja boss. No more cookies sad

He wanted to text a thousand things. Did they feel this emptiness too? Did they realize that Christmas was over forever (that's how it felt anyway). He at least had to make sure everything was okay with them because he wasn't so sure that they could handle another boss fight.

"Jerry?" Bix lifted his heavy head. "We should.. uh.. You bazooka'd the dorms."

Jerry blinked, turning to stare at Bix as though he was speaking some alien language in his bleary state. "I.... " And then the realization hit.

He had. Bazooka'd the dorms.

And their superiors were due to return any time now.

And he felt physically awful.

"P-p-p-PAINT! PAINT AND... AND DRY WALL WE NEED PAINT AND DRY WALL STAT!" He suddenly shrieked, lurching to his feet in sudden shock.

"I'll help.." Bix was definitive about that but also sounded slightly exasperated. Or was it exhaustion. Either way there was a 'siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh' tacked onto the end of the statement.

"Where do we get that stuff?" Paint he was sure he could scrounge up but he wasn't so sure about the drywall. Maybe the Moon hunters would help? They'd been battling in the dorms before they'd ever swung in to the rescue.

One thing was for sure: He did NOT feel like any of this right now but the big bosses were probably going to show up any second and regardless of the fact that they fended off the intruders, they were definitely IN TROUBLE.

"Let's get going." With a heaving sigh he forced himself to head back towards the dorm building.

When Dakota leaned in to whisper into Eva’s ear, apprehension entered Wilson’s eyes. He was suggesting a nickname, and Wilson guessed it would not be one he would be absolutely ecstatic about. His suspicious were confirmed when Eva finally announced his new nickname. Zorro? Like the character with a mask? Frowning, Wilson instinctively reached for the goggles dangling around his neck. This is all your fault. His partner cried indignantly.

Then there were a thousand voices echoing inside his mind. He clung to his head, eyes squeezed shut as he pressed his hands against his skull to push the whispers out, but they only seemed to scream louder. Home. Homesickness suddenly filled his heart for the briefest of moments before he registered the ninja’s words. It was inappropriate of him to find it funny that as a death trainee he would now meet death, though he never got to finish the thought. He felt something wet splash across his face and he tentatively reached up to wipe it away—Wilson stared at his fingers, smeared with red. Eyes widened. Were they hi—There was a burning sensation in his back, spreading up his spine and everywhere.

He dropped to his knees and expected for things to end there, but a bright glow filled his vision. Wilson didn’t bother to cover his eyes. It was a comforting light and there was even the smell of fresh cookies. Blinking, the trainee recognized the familiar form of the cookie lady from the cafeteria. A stupefied Wilson only mutely stared back at the woman as she turned to apologize. He stared as she stuffed a cookie into the ninja’s mouth and the thing seemed…different. Happier, perhaps? The word ‘Son’ caught his attention as the lady looked back at them before disappearing in a shower of sparkles.

Wilson stared. “What…just happened?” Frowning, he looked over at Dakota, Eva, and Otto. “I guess we should, uh, clean up or something?” Personally he didn’t feel too up to the task. Everything seemed so empty and dreary at the moment.

After that last round of attacks, when the ninja started falling apart, Tedan was sure it was dead ... this was what had pretty much happened with the Yeti they'd fought before. It fell to pieces, then it was gone. Right?

Wrong.

Apparently that wasn't going to happen here, as the ninja was somehow still moving. And it was going to kill them all. Blue eyes widened and Tedan stumbled backwards, very nearly tripping over his own feet as all of his instincts screamed at him to run to somehow escape, get away. Except there was nowhere to run to.

s**t, they were all dead. Sorry, everyone ... sorry Three... and Fiver 2. He'd meant to be there when they woke up .....

And then, incredibly, they were somehow NOT dead. Instead, everything felt wonderful and the old woman he'd seen a time or two in the kitchen was talking to that ... thing. "What the ********..?" Tedan muttered softly.

came a comment from Ardavan. But before the could think much more on it, they were gone. Both the ninja and the old woman. "Uh. Does anyone know what the hell just happened?"

Otto's headache increased with this new pain. They'd barely made it out of that alive. The teen's gaze drifted to Dakota for a moment as he spoke, shaking his head. Hell if he knew what happened, and frankly he was in no mood to try and fix anything.

"Clean what..?" He mumbled to Dakota, not bothering to look up as he buried his head in his hands for now.

Tedan's question received a shrug from the small blonde.

"Moon hunters- Moon hunters should have access to building supplies, right? There's that whole... town they were working on! They've definitely-" Wait. Harrison! Oh, hell, where was he? Or Can- His eyes scanned the Hunters hobbling their way away from the gate, brows knit with concern before he spotted her... and the blood. His face went lavender, and he nearly tripped as he ran towards her.

"Candace! CANDACE oh God oh god what happened to you??" It was a ridiculous question, but out it came all the same.

People were talking, discussing plans. Paint? Huh? What did they need paint for? Candace sniffed and wiped her face with the back of her hand again, coughing into her palm and wiping her lips after. Not as much blood but..there was still blood. Someone called her name and she turned her head enough to watch Jerry come tripping to her side. She gave a quiet laugh. "He got me good." Candace said in a low voice, curling her arms around her middle and trying not to roll over and lay on her side like her body wanted her to do. "Jerry...I'm tired..." Probably from blood loss but hey! Details!
