Akiraa tilted her head in a fractional nod before she darted away from the school to keep the other students from being in danger.

Ryuusei pushed off as Kagaen darted forward at high speed after Akiraa, only to take a hard and brutal 'Spear' tackle that bent him double before driving him to the ground.
Kagaen gasped before Ryuusei jerked him to his feet before gripping him in a guillotine choke before suddenly twisting him around into a hard bodyslam. He grunted as he hit the ground hard with a crunch, his armor flexing before he heard a distinct snapping pop that to him was clearly audible though it wasn't quite audible to most others. He growled as he managed to rise to his feet, his body trembling before he quickly vanished in a burst of violet-blue flames.

Akiraa blinked as she heard a crackling snap and spun to see Kagaen fleeing in a burst of dark flames. "Just how the heck is it possible to not burn alive doing something like that?" she mumbled in confusion.

Ryuusei gritted his teeth, drawing his bloody hand away from his lower left abdomen a couple of inches above his hip; fortunately he knew that the wound, though deep, wasn't fatal. "He got a lucky shot in, but he'll definitely be aching for a while. I know I left him with a few cracked ribs, if not vertebrae in his back," he said quietly. It was a inch and a half long stab wound that was a good three quarters of an inch deep at worst and about an eighth of an inch at its shallowest. He tilted his hand to drop the barbed shuriken to the ground in his fingers, its thin seven blades half covered with blood.

Akiraa shrugged, having a bad feeling that something dangerous was coming. You get the feeling that was only the beginning of something too, don't you? she thought as she leaned around the corner and saw something that was startling: Ryuusei's dark gray eyes had shifted into a very strange form that was a deep amethyst with what seemed to be a navy ring at the edges of his irises with three narrow curving silver crescent shapes, the points angled towards the outsides of his irises as the crescents slowly spun.

Ryuusei chuckled. "Yeah... this isn't too bad... better than the time I tried to stop a mob from burning a six year old kid alive because they thought he was a demon," he muttered though he didn't go into detail as he started walking steadily as he pressed the bandana to his side. He glanced around before shifting his wrist as he subtly cast a very minor illusion that in essence hid them from sight for a few seconds.

Akiraa had noticed that by the time Ryuusei and Roe had reached them, the strange irises had reverted to the dark gray they normally were. I wonder what that was, she thought.

Ryuusei did as urged, though he didn't seem to mind the itching ache as the wound healed rapidly. "Healing through sonokinesis, eh?" he murmured, referring to her apparent talent for sound manipulation which had caused the crystal to react. He took the bandana, cocking his head before he focused as energy began to gather in his palm before imploding with a sound like a hundred birds simultaneously as the bandana was incinerated.

Akiraa tilted her head, interested in what Roe was referring to.

Ryuusei tilted his head. "I was born on a world where people were able to draw upon their inner strength to manipulate the elements and trained as a warrior though when I was seventeen I was betrayed by someone I thought I could trust and hurled far, far away due to a dimensional technique. The next thing I knew I had landed.... though I do not immediately recall much afterward," he said quietly.

Akiraa tilted her head fractionally, unconsciously rubbing against Aerie's neck just behind her head.

Ryuusei shook his head slightly. "Kagaen isn't the one that betrayed me; he betrayed the village before I was born... and I ended up being hurled away when I was eleven... I don't quite recall who it was that betrayed me, but he caught me off guard," he said carefully.

Akiraa blinked at Ryu's words, caught off guard. What is he talking about? How could they both be pawns for 'something bigger'? she wondered.

Ryuusei tilted his head, his eyes narrowing for a second. "Possible, but I don't know for sure; I have the feeling both Kagaen and this betrayer may only be pawns for something bigger... gut instinct," he said quietly. He half turned as he noticed movement from the corner of his eye to see the blue haired girl from before, her hair swaying around her shoulders as she looked concerned.

Akiraa cocked her head, both confused and interested.

Ryuusei cocked his head fractionally. "If we do, it may make the betrayer and Kagaen reluctant to attack, giving us the chance to train and become stronger, yet it would also give them more targets to attack.... perhaps it is wise if we do, but we shouldn't tell them about what you're seeking nor about..." he said, glancing back at Akiraa, or more specifically, Aerie as he could faintly see a prismatic aura outlining the guardian. When he glanced back at the Novae Princess, though he had no idea of that fact, his irises had deepened to a dark navy color with five silvery 'tears' within a darker midnight blue ring within his irises.
