Nyx turned her head to the side and glared at Star, who seemed to have followed her, but quickly turned her attention back to her mission. "I told you I'd be here. Star just wanted to have a chat with me while we waited." She'd hold off on telling Deimos about what happened--Nyx could use it to hold over Star's head later.

Deimos smiled at Nyx, not really noticing Star's condition, even after Tethys pointed it out. "I hope I wasn't too long. Did he take you anywhere interesting?"
Star felt a swell of relief when Nyx chose not to rat him out to Deimos. Wincing, he risked a glance at Tethys, "..I'm fine... but thank you for your concern, Commander."

"Not at all," came the bland reply. "You were wheezing earlier as well. Perhaps you should report to the infirmary." Tethys held his gaze a moment too long, then turned her eyes to the much shorter Galactic in front of her.
"I presume you will continue with your evening, sir."

"No, not really." Nyx said with a hint of something more in her voice, a warning for Star, maybe.
"Oh!" She smiled with interest, "What did you have planned next?"

"The infirmary isn't necessary..." Star muttered dully.
"Yes, Tethys." Deimos nodded, still beaming at Nyx, "Would you like to see my studio next? It's where I assemble all my plans!"

"That would be nice." Nyx chuckled and held out her arm again. "Do you have any place that makes ice-cream on this ship? We could grab some for dessert afterward."

Tethys arched a brow sharply at the stricken Galactic. Go.
Deimos' reply only made her heave a resigned sigh. "..I suppose next it'll be an introduction to the manifesto, sir."

Star's eyes widened. Without another word he turned and left. Great... the infirmary staff was going to give him that look again.
Deimos blinked, "Would that be interesting?"

Tethys' gaze remained steadily pointed at Star's retreating form, rather than slide in a telltale fashion to Nyx. "Only to the dedicated."

Deimos beamed, "Excellent! There's ice cream in my quarters." This announcement would make more sense if Nyx knew his studio was adjacent to his quarters. Regardless, he was happy to grab Nyx's hand and lead the way to the nearest elevator.

Which left Tethys.. standing there, watching him walk away. Normally this didn't bother her, and she'd seen it hundreds of times, but this time he was walking away with someone else.
The commander was still for a long moment, then turned on her heel and made for the infirmary.

Tethys' visit to the infirmary didn't really promise to brighten her mood.
When she arrived she'd find Star seated on the edge of one of the exam beds being harassed by a doctor. His shirt and coat were draped on the bed beside him, leaving him exposed from the waist up. Judging by his posture he wasn't terribly comfortable with this. Tethys would probably recognize some of her handiwork littering the man's spindly frame in the form of various scars and bruises.
At the moment Star was holding an ice pack over the angry bruise blooming across his midsection and yelling at the doctor, "I told you it wasn't my fault! Stop lecturing me and do whatever you have to do so I can leave!" He caught the doctor's eyes shift over his shoulder and winced, following the man's gaze to find Tethys. This effectively snuffed his shouting.

"I wish to speak with him," Tethys told the doctor as she strode forward. "You are dismissed." Her step didn't falter with the order; she expected such things to be obeyed promptly.
The commander came to the side of the exam bed and tilted her head slightly to the side, scanning over the pattern of scars and bruises on Star's torso. Such prolonged observation of a shirtless man generally implied a certain interest, but that would have required certain things. A different woman, for one.
"What happened?" the pale woman asked once the doctor had left the room.

Star watched the doctor scurry off. Having him around didn't really provide any protection. All the same, being alone with Tethys now made the room feel a lot more dangerous. Watching her dispassionately examine his exposed torso didn't make him any more comfortable. "I did exactly as you ordered, Commander. I made every effort to coax information from her."
