It took Regina a moment to respond to Amy's question. She was too busy being shell-shocked for the first time since their 'landing', or awakening, however one wanted to look at it. Others might have missed the sound be she? Regina Faith? She was used to listening for strange things; looking for the things that everyone else missed, reading between the lines.
The young woman shivered, swallowing hard as she tried to get some sort of color to return to her face so that she could stay strong, mainly for the teen who seemed to need some sort of reassurance. "Them? Oh, yes. Has to be..." But what if it wasn't? "You mean that sound, right? The two of you heard it? They weren't just trying to communicate with me?" Provided it was a form of communication... She was really hoping it wasn't a dinner bell or something.

"I didn't even think you could stand on a rainbo...." The sound rumbled though her and cut off her words. She was used to loud noises, she did appreciate bass in movies and music, and she'd felt that along with hearing it.
It was an unsettling feeling to know that there was something else out there. She was not going to admit it was aliens though. No way.
"I think we should stay together." She looked at Regina and was tempted to wag a finger in her face but stopped herself. "I'm not saying you're right cause i don't think aliens would be abducting people but, yea ... that was creepy."
She really wished that her pliers had come with her. They wouldn't do much but they had a sharp point on them and she'd at least have felt better with something resembling a weapon if they were about to get taken off somewhere. It was already against their will and she almost wanted to find whoever had done it and give them a piece of her mind.
"Oh, and if we do find your aliens. I'm kicking their asses into next week for this."

Anna took a few small steps toward the group. She hoped that if nothing else, standing around with everyone would allow her to listen in on the focus of conversation. Maybe someone knew something. Maybe someone figured it all out? Either way, hearing so many voices was calming somehow. Some seemed to be talking about an odd noise. It must have happened before she awoke, she thought, because she most certainly had heard nothing but chatter and silence in between. It was at this point she caught Grant's gaze, and realized that he was speaking to her. She inched a little closer to him. Not an uncomfortable closeness, but a bridged gap, so that she wouldn't feel rude talking to him through the crowd. "Y-yeah," she said. Anna's voice was still a bit shaky, like her vocal chords were slowly working their way through a long chill. "I mean, yeah, I'm fine." He made a point, she thought. Certainly in all the games she'd played, all the wikis she'd read, no rainbow had ever been a truly bad thing. The concept put her at ease somehow, enough that she shake in her voice faded the next time she spoke. "That's true I guess," she said with a nod. "But why on Earth. Err. Why on wherever the heck we are, are we even here?" She didn't expect the friendly stranger to have an answer of that magnitude, but she felt the need to voice her greatest question anyhow. She chuckled a bit, listening to Regina's alien theories. As silly as they were, well, nothing could possibly be sillier than standing on a rainbow. So anything was possible. A smile crossed Anna's lips. She was still scared, sure, but Grant's good attitude seemed to be rubbing off on her. "Oh, um," she said to no one in particular. "I'm Annabelle, by the way. Well, Anna. Just Anna." How silly of her, to forget something as basic as an introduction.

Mal was too preoccupied with the logistical matter of smoking in space to have heard the sound. She had spent the past few minutes staring intently at her lighter, wondering if reality would collapse in on itself if she attempted to spark a flame. There wasn't a single thing about their current situation that made sense, but somehow the idea of lighting a cigarette in what was supposed to be a vacuum made Mal's drug addled mind reel more than anything else.
She finally snapped out of her daze as a girl [Anna] asked what was going on. The girl wasn't any more remarkable than all the other people asking what was going on - Mal's currently scatter shot attention span had simply snagged on her voice. She looked to the girl, taking the cigarette from between her lips and motioning towards their surroundings.
"Space. Rainbows. Kind of self-explanatory, isn't it?"
Mal looked back to the group and frowned. Most of them had taken to hitting themselves or one another, and she was hard pressed to think of a situation where that proved useful. Worse still was the fact that everybody else was flocking to the cop for guidance, and while these were certainly extenuating circumstances, Mal was still in an altered state of mind. Her stoner instincts told her to avoid authority figures at all costs, lest those costs included the chip aisle at the bodega on the corner.
"I don't know about anyone else," she said to no one in particular, eyes half-lidded and expression bored as she called upon her extensive horror film expertise. "But last time I checked, a bunch of strangers waking up in a place together is not usually an indication of good things to come."

He was right Molly didn't have control of her emotions she was a 16 year old girl. Who only care about herself, pop music stars and cheerleading. She never care to get a handle on her emotions, that later on in life but just not right now. And if he didn't forgive her, she could care less. Wasn't like she was ever going to see him again in life after this. She just hope that she would be leaving this place and soon.
She smiled and basked in the compliment. Yeah it was all true. Molly loved to be looked at, to be called cute, wonderful, beautiful and he was helping her already big ego. "Well thank you." she said flipping her long blonde ponytail. "Your name....unusual in a good way I guess." she said giving a force smile. She was trying to be nice, that would help in this place right?
"Yeah I know Raven, she on my Cheer squ....." She stop to listen. She turn her head. It was a sound, something she had never really heard before. it was long and interesting and then it was gone. She snapped her head back to Jett and blinked a couple a times before asking, "Did you hear that?"

When people joined him, Gilbert did his best to look reassuring and friendly. There was a teenage girl that tucked up close by him, and later a frightened woman joined as well -- fine by him, because even though he didn't know what the hell was going on, he was still some kind of authority figure and if his status as a cop could keep hysteria down then that was fine and dandy. It didn't seem like anyone was really hurt, just making a lot of noise and generally volleying between extreme displeasure and excitement at the prospect of being wherever they were.
Another teenage girl planted herself in front of him and demanded to know something about varsity, and as Gilbert had no idea what she was talking about or where she was even from, he did his best to smile reassuringly and tell her that whatever was happening right now was outside of her control and would have nothing to do with school. Incidents like this, with enormous kidnappings, actually had a profound effect on school -- yeah, he'd read up on that organ ring that had happened here a few years back before he'd transferred -- but there was no reason to agitate the situation even more.
He missed the sound the first time, but someone shouted over the top of the crowd, and he barely heard the voice above the buzz. He cupped a hand over his ear and frowned, tilting his head up, and heard... something.
And then someone suggested they follow. The storyteller, or whatever. This was either a great idea or a catastrophic one -- who knew what the hell was at the source of that weird sound. Then again, they couldn't just sit in the middle of the rainbow road and collectively wait to wake up, or be rescued, or something. Giving the group of people something to do would help ease the tension.
Cupping his hands in front of his mouth, he began to shout again. Goddamn, he was going to have a hoarse voice in the morning. "It's important that we stay together! Everyone, as a collective, begin moving toward the closest castle at a steady pace! We need to find shelter, and do not split up! I repeat, as a collective, begin to move toward the nearest castle!"
It was... kind of a plan. Hopefully everyone would be restless enough that they'd want some kind of action, and no one would break off and try to leap off the road again. There were really only two directions to go, so Gilbert began waving his hands at the back of the group, ushering them forward.
((ooc: I'm going to be at work most of the day, so if the group decides to start walking toward a castle, just assume Gilbert's at the end of it and encouraging any stragglers to go forward with Patient and Calm Tones and whatnot. If they decide not to, just assume Gilbert is moving through the group and making sure everyone is okay and not freaking out. Thanks 8D))

Amy was really starting to believe that it was aliens. It sounded like a fun idea in the beginning, but now she was starting to think it was less fun and more terrifying once that sound had been heard by a lot of the people gathered here.
Realizing that her hand was still clenched on Jocelin's arm, she slowly let go, still worried that something was going to happen with this rainbow bridge-road-whatever-it-was. "Stay together, yes." It seemed like most of the people on the bridge were more or less in one large group, but it was more comforting to have the feeling of allies rather than sheep penned in together.
Sheep...lamb...oh man, she was starting to make herself hungry. Bad, bad time to be hungry right now. Trying to force her attention away from food and back to Regina, she mused "It reminded me of a whale. Whale-aliens?" Kind of like those paintings with whales in space!
Amy clearly could not keep herself focused on the real problem here.

Grant smiled when he noticed Anna relax a slight bit. He felt more at ease because of it, often feeding off the emotions of others, though he reacted differently to them sometimes. He looked around again, not seeing anything different this time, but still not dejected because of it.
They were on a rainbow in space.
"Grant. Grant Caudwell," he said, when Anna introduced herself. He smiled brightly and offered her his hand, just in time to hear Mal nearby. He frowned thoughtfully, but not angrily. It was really the only way he knew how to frown, and it only happened when he was thinking too hard about something.
"I understand why you might think that," he said, nodding his head, "I mean, in all the movies I've ever seen when this happens, it usually isn't good. But there's nothing to indicate that yet, just like there's nothing to indicate that it's a good thing. I think it might be easier on us all if we don't worry about what we can't know yet. Of course... you're more than welcome to do what's best for you."
And why not? If something bad happened, they would have plenty of time for freaking out. They didn't need to jump ahead of themselves and panic before then, did they? If he was going to die here, then he wasn't going to waste his last peaceful moments in fear or in anger. Come what may.
He smiled again, a warm and almost eager expression, meant to reassure.

Jett's head cocked to the side; he'd only heard a slightly off noise for a few short seconds and couldn't place the sound--nor where it had come from. Scanning the sky gave him little information, it wasn't like there was a bright neon light pointing to the source of the sound, and all of space looked the same to him.
A part of him wished he hadn't been bothering to listen to Molly so he might have been able to hear the sound and try to pinpoint where it had come from; he hadn't exactly learned any valuable information from her. He didn't care for the compliment towards his name; it's not like he'd had any decision picking his name, and with the sudden assault of questions about what the sound had been, where it had come from, he'd quickly even forgotten she'd mentioned it.
"...Yeah, I heard it," he finally answered, wondering if it was some sort of sign or clue as to where they were. His eyes scanned the sky once more and then looked down at Molly. "...Do you think we're really in space or something?" he asked, perhaps finally coming to terms with the idea that there was a fair possibility that none of this was particularly normal or some sort of hallucination. He knew he wasn't this creative--and would have been repulsed if anything this phenomenally odd had appeared in his dreams.
But...in space? Was that really even more possible? Space, with no oxygen to breathe. Space--with rainbows, and barriers, so you couldn't really leave?
A headache was growing; he felt the throbbing in his temple and reached a hand up to try and massage it. Freaking out wasn't going to do anything, but he'd have least liked some damn answers. There were people moving, and he considered joining one of the larger groups--but he definitely didn't want to be near anyone that was shouting and rejected the idea for the moment.

Joshua thought his use of the word ******** was perfectly appropritate for the situation, thank you Marienrode. But still... her and Gilbert seemed to be the one freaking out the least, and so the black-haired teen couldn't help but feel drawn to them. Panicking would get them nowhere at all, really, and the man's plan seemed sound. They would be saver in those... castles, right ? Until they woke up ? He paused, through, when something else caught his attention. What was ? "Did you hear that ?" Maybe it was just his imagination.

Ricky - still keeping his distance from the police - crossed over to the smaller group consisting of Mal, Grant and Anna. He was just as confused as everyone, and his worries that they were in the video game Mario Kart had not fully alleviated just yet.
"I really ain't got an idea what's goin' on but I reckon if we stick together then there ain't gonna be any mass killings or nuttin," Ricky chimed in, his southern drawl thick as ever. The situation did seem like something of a horror movie - like Saw if Saw took place on a rainbow pathway in space. His head was still ringing in pain. This was the most thinking and the least amount of just doing he had done since high school. "I'm Ricky by the way. Ricky Cunningham."

"Hey guys, since there is a castle, maybe that strange sound was like, some sort of dragon or something?" Natalia offered, calling upon all her memories of fairytales. Where there was a castle there was usually a dragon to slay along the way, right? Well,...maybe Anders and Hawkes were more the ones to go to for such information. After all, Natalia was subscribed to more of the historical-political LARP herself, rather than 'medieval-goodness!'
None the less, she offered up the suggestion to those who thought going to the castle might be the safe thing to do.
Wait - this was her dream anyway, so there could be a dragon if she wanted there to be, right? Ha! She hoped it ate some of them. Expecially the dream party poopers.
Every party needs a pooper that's why they invited you~ Party pooper~ Party pooper~

"Nice to make your acquaintance, Grant," Anna said as politely as she knew how. No use making enemies in a situation like this. She made a mental note to try harder than usual to keep her temper in check. So far so good. She took his hand and shook it once before letting go. Her gaze followed his, over to Mal. "Space. Rainbows. Kind of self-explanatory, isn't it?" Anna heard her say. "Well... No, not really," she replied. "Rainbows shouldn't exist in space. Err, I think? Science isn't my strong point but still! Hell, we shouldn't even be able to breathe right now. Nothing's working according to logic, it seems." The woman's second statement made her frown slightly--what a lovely way to kill her mood, just as it was starting to get better--but Gilbert's voice cut through the crowd before she had a chance to get upset. Move, he'd said? Not a bad idea, really. Maybe if they somehow made their way to whatever those castle-things were, (which Anna had only just noticed), they'd get some answers. Anything was better than staying here. "I think... that guy," she motioned to Gilbert, having not yet become aware of his name, "Is right. We can't just stay here, can we? Maybe there's answers waiting in those... whatever they are. Shiny things over there. Castles? ********, I don't know." She began to move slowly down the path. Only a few short steps, stopping not long after she started to see if anyone else was following too.

Cathleen got down on her hunches and listened while everyone else started to talk amoung themselves. She listened to there convesations with half a ear while she tried to figure out where she was and how to get back home.
"What is that noise?" There was no way to explain what she was hearing but after hearing it three times it stopped. Cathleen looked around and started to panic.
"At least I'm not the only one that heard that voice, thats good it means i'm not crazy."

The sound that filled Callum’s ears only confirmed for him that this was some kind of twisted afterlife or maybe just a nightmare based on Mario Kart. For sure, it wasn’t an earthy mortal sound that Callum was familiar with.
“I’m dead, or we’re going to die. That sound is only marking impending doom…” Callum uttered to himself and continued to prattle on under his breath. His thoughts were interrupted by a sound voice of reason. Looking over the crowd, Callum saw the group of adults with some children clustered around. One was shouting about moving on towards the castles.
Callum couldn’t agree more. If it turned out he wasn’t dead, well he had things to get back to. And if he was dead, well then there had to be something better waiting. Either way, he was eager to leave and get on with his normal life or afterlife.
Quickly, he started marching down the road, closer to the ‘sane’ group and the castles. A familiar glint of pale hair caught his attention. It was the exact same shade as his own. Layton.
Callum pushed his way through people towards his sister and automatically snatched her hand and yanked her towards him. “Layton! What are you doing here? You can’t be dead.” In the mind of Callum, there were only two reasons for his sister to not be dead. A) She was too young and B) She never did anything warrant dying, not even jay-walking. Maybe everyone here had fallen victim to some kind of sick cult ritual mass poisoning that resulted in heart attacks and… acid trip deaths. Yeah. That made sense.
“And don’t touch anything! We might be dead, but that’s no reason to get your hands grubby and pick up death germs.” Pulling out a handkerchief from his pocket, Callum started to wipe his sister's hand and then spritzed hand sanitizer on them.
