Returning to the trash mountain, poke resumed where she had left off previously. Her pickaxe in hand she was already hitting the wall with all she had so she could try and get this done as fast as possible. It was not only tiring, but boring as well.

It seemed that she had found herself a vein of rock candies, for as she had started on this part of the wall, a few of them had popped out. With a smile she put them into her bag, and resumed her work. She only had a few more candies get, then she'd be done with this place!

Damn, had the seam run out of candies already? She decided to stay here and dig a little deeper into the rock encase there were some there she couldn't reach. With a mightily swing she hit the rock as hard as she could, and kept the effort up for a few hits

Yes! Her persistence had paid off, for as she kept up her efforts she continued to find more rock candies! But it was long before she stopped, the short burst of energy tiring her out rather quickly. She'd be back again soon, but at least she had found plenty of candy this time.

Maybe he wasn't cut out to be a worker later in life. The failed weight lifts, the fish pelting, the glitter . . . It was starting to catch up to him. Badly.

Another tink, another candy. Perhaps if he kept at it, a river of sorts would be opened to them both, showering them in candies! Such thinking was the byproduct of being in there for far too long.

Or perhaps Vero was right after all. After some more insistent digging, he found that there was a small pouch of three candies to be mined. Plucking them carefully out of the crevice, he sat back down and viewed his bucket, counting each piece.
Thirty. Thirty surely had to be enough for the trash lord, correct?
For now, though, he needed to rest.

Nyyrikki eyed the heap of trash and the gaping hole he'd be entering. Really? Seriously? That was just unfair. Why couldn't gnomes just do their jacking jobs? He scooped up his supplies, hanging the lantern from the chains wrapped around his arm, and entered unhappily.
Luckily, it seemed this would be easier than he thought, cause he was immediately able to dislodge some rock candy.

Except, it wasn't easy. Those first few pieces must have been a fluke, because when he tried to dislodge another piece, it was stuck hard, and even swinging the pickaxe at it like a sword didn't do anything. He huffed hard and glared at the candy. Stupid jacking gnomes not doing their jobs.

He'd been slacking, either distracted by interesting trash or just finding nothing. "You don't have to wait around for me." He grinned. "I am almost there!" .... sort of.
