Barth hissed at the steps, bent over and still holding his stomach. "It'sss nothing new. From exams." While he appreciated Calder helping him to his feet, he had not been talking to Calder. He had not been talking to Christof, either.
A tall, gaunt figure, now definitely devoid of sunscreen or floppy hats, bent beside them and picked Barth up in both arms as if he was made of paper. Calder would recognize him as the same vampire that had driven them there. Barth clutched Grimhold's shirt with his free claw.
"My companionsss alssso," Barth said.

There was a light groan from under them as suddenly the arm in Calder's grip began to twitch and jerk. Scattered parts quivered and as though they were watching footage played in reverse, each piece slid or rolled with a crackle of Fear until seams met, and the hunchback wobbled to his feet, eyes rolling. It wasn't until he reached up to try to grab his throbbing head did he realize things weren't... entirely in the right places. But he was all together, and that's what mattered.
Up ahead, they could still hear snarling, stones scattering and clattering down the shaft as the creature made it's way- more carefully- down towards them.

Calder stepped back, nearly ready to slap the sudden appearance of Grimhold with Christof's arm, but stopped when he saw the man cradling the demon carefully. Barth didn't look well at all, and the pungent smell of mingling blood and undead parts were only suffocating him with worry for all his friends. His ears continued to pivot as Frederik, far above, was moving in. All signs pointed to run, and he wanted to make sure everyone was safe.
You protected your herd. That's what stallions did.
Just then, the arm pulled and tugged, and soon Christof was back again. Well, sorta back again. He didn't look like he was constructed back properly through his new reassembling ability, but Calder was just happy to see him again and not as undead puzzle pieces on the ground. With the arm jerking in his hand, Calder let it go and saw it move back to the rest as if pulled by an invisible string.
"This isn't good. That freakin lizard is going to to eat us! We need to get out of here or...or tell your master that his creation went predator on his guest." Calder looked to Barth and Christof, really wishing he had an adult. Grimhold was the closest thing to one they had and he looked up at the vampire, hoping he knew what to do.
He knew what he was taught when being attacked by animals. You found the closest, deepest water source and you ran to it. Yet, in this case, he had others to worry about and didn't even know the way out. He couldn't SMELL water anywhere, and he knew Barth and Christof were in no state to ride on him or hide out underwater. What did he do now??!!!
Did he....stand his ground and attack?

Grimhold bent on to one knee, still holding Barth. He looked over his shoulder at Calder and the patchwork assembling itself behind him, and briefly at the large, monstrous one clambering down towards them.
"If neither of you are in shape to keep up with me, you must hold fast," He said.

Christof gave a distant grunt, wobbling slightly on unsure legs, but the Fear was holding, at least. He wasn't sure how fast he could run, but there was something about a horrible jagged-toothed monstrosity chasing you that helps give the proper motivation to make anything possible. Fumbling with his limbs to try to at least shove them closer to their proper place, he lurched forward down the hall after the vampire.

"I can run still." He said, looking up at the vampire. If there was one thing he was able to do, despite his hurting side and aching body, was run. It was the most basic skill he knew, and the last thing he was able to do before plopping over dead. He very much doubted he'd be helping the vampire by being held by him. Even Calder knew how heavy he really was.
While Christof raced after the vampire, Calder looked up once more, gave a shudder, and ran after them and tried to keep up.

"Very well," Grimhold said, and was navigating the hallways speedily, as if Barth weighed nothing at all, heading with severe purpose towards the front door.

The closer they got to the door, the more the hunchback slowed, his breathing coming in sharp rasps through his nose before he finally stopped, glancing over his shoulder. They would get away... that was good. That was very good.
But he couldn't leave. He had already disobeyed his Master, the pain still surging from the stump that remained of his tongue told him that much- he was in trouble. Major trouble. Would he not allow him to go back to school? That was where he had learned such insolence, after all...
He gave a whine, still staring behind them as one of his right arms fell loose and he had to catch it to try to push it back into place.

Calder noticed Christof lagging behind and stopped, watching Grimhold and Barth moving away yet unable to move. Turning, he looked to his friend. "Christof, come on! We're almost there. Let's go." He looked up ahead. They were leaving, growing smaller.
Calder moved, reaching out his hand. "Come on. If you need a ride.."

Grimhold, too, stopped as Calder did, as if yanked by an invisible chain.
"Ride or be carried, but keep up," he said, tone short.

The hunchback gave another whine, shaking his head as he took a few steps back, trembling, spasming hands rising to meekly sign, "Disobeyed Master."

Calder looked ahead at Grimhold and then back at Chrsitof, hand still out. "Please, Christof. I don't want to leave you. I don't want you to get hurt!" He cried, reaching out and trying to grab for the Igor's arm. "Come on!!" He looked back at Grimhold. "Go! I'll catch up!"

"I-" Grimhold began, still cemented to the floor.
"He can't without the two of you," Barth said sharply. "Christof, I need you in the carraige. Don't make me repeat myself."

The Igor wobbled, but the commanding tone seemed to be what he needed to at least move on autopilot, hobbling forward just as down the hall, Frederik landed heavily at the bottom of the shaft, taking only a few moments before turning towards them.

Calder was glad, for once in his life, that Barth had a mark on Christof. Relieved, Calder ran with Chrsitof after Grimhold. They would leave here and get away from this mess. Then everyone could patch up. They just needed to escape.
