Sky finished slurping up her noodles before she talked. "Well scars can be felt and I'm sure a man would find it weird." Sky commented back. "I don't understand what you mean about Reed's. All the schools I went to were like that." The young woman pointed out. She was a monster. She didn't get why Adney thought the school was full of monsters. He had just confused her. Did he not like monsters like her those creatures that are supposed to be scary to humans. She was a Sandman. They were on the list of scary creatures. The ones that may crawl out from under your bed and get you while you're sleeping. The girl stood up. He was just being nice to her because he felt sorry for her. "Excuse me I think I'll take my leave." She said as she rounded the table.

She seemed so adamant about this scar thing that he had to wonder how much of it was just her convincing herself. "You were speaking about tradition. And for a human, which I am, this school is quite far from traditional." he didn't know about Sandman traditions, so he only had his own to go on. When she stood, and went to excuse herself, a look of hurt crossed his features. Had he offended her? He hadn't meant to. "Sky, wait." the bill had come while they were talking, and he pulled his wallet from his back pocket. Placing the appropriate bills on the table, he stands and tucks his wallet away. "I'm not sure what I said, but I'm sorry?" he didn't know what was wrong, and frankly, he was quite confused by her suddenly distant attitude.

Sky stopped and turned to Adney. She was torn between her thick head and really wanting to listen to him and talk it out. The urge to run away was just as strong as running towards him. The best thing she could do was stop. The girl stopped her moments. She froze while she thought of what to say. "I don't understand humans." She said with a smile. That was probably the best way to start. "I use to being around monsters while you are use to just being with humans. I don't find monsters scary yet you probably find them a little more frighting." She told him finally saying the first words.

Relieved when she stopped, the redhead waited patiently for her to respond. He relaxed slightly, hands in his pockets when she finally spoke. He shook his head slightly as she suggested that maybe he was afraid. Him? Afraid? That was kind of funny. "I wouldn't say I find them frightening. But when you spend half your life thinking that they're all myths only to find out that they're real is a little jarring." he shrugged, hands in his pockets. "But you were talking about traditions, and to me, this school isn't very traditional." it was structured in a similar manner to human schools, but the classes and the teachers were what made it unusual to him. "The only nonhuman being I'm used to is an ice spirit, and I still don't quite get him sometimes."

Sky smiled. It didn't seem that he was afraid of her at all. He just didn't understand the culture she came from. "I'm afraid human and monster culture are really similar. My mother is a Baku from Japanese. In Japanese culture it's believed that a woman who is scarred up would ever find a husband." The teen commented. Explaining how things worked out. Some people believe that it was monsters who created language and not the humans as people thought.

Accepting this tidbit of information with a nod, he considers it a moment. Japanese culture didn't seem so friendly, if that was true. "Then I suppose it's a good thing we're not in Japan." he points out, smiling slyly. He was American, so a silly tradition like that didn't affect him; even if you traced his nationalities back, he wasn't Asian by any means. He didn't really know what American culture said about scars, but he didn't really care either. They were just fibrous tissue, a normal part of the healing process. Why should people be bothered by them?

Sky stuck her tongue out. "Speak for yourself. Culture is something you carry with you. Now cultural norms are the thing that is the rule for a group of people and Cultural Universal is something that all cultures have. Like laws." The girl commented. She was smarter than she let on. The classes that she she was good at even a little didn't mean she liked them.

Grinning in response to suddenly childish gesture; she seemed back to normal, and he relaxed further. He liked this upbeat and smartass-y Sky far better than the distant character she had been a moment before. "Then I guess I'm not very cultural, am I?" he retorted, still grinning in amusement. He had broken his fair share of laws, so even those didn't seem to restrain him; he was the type of guy who did what he wanted, no matter the silly rules or laws that said no.

Sky smiled and relaxed her shoulders. She wasn't on edge anymore. "Yes you are. You have as much culture as I do." She commented back and pulled her purse to her shoulder. "Well I guess I ruined our date again." Sky was a tough person to get along with. She wouldn't blame Adney if he never wanted to go on another with her. She pushed her blond hair back.

Chuckling quietly at her return comment, the redhead smiled. He didn't know much at all about his own culture, it had never really interested him, but he chose not to say that. He was glad to see she had relaxed, flicking his head to the side to get the bangs out of his eyes. "I honestly can't say I know what you're talking about. Unless, of course, you found my responses boring." he moved to exit the small restaurant, motioning for her to follow. It was rather crowded in the small building, and being surrounded by so many people he couldn't watch was beginning to grate on his nerves. Stopping outside, he lets out a short sigh of relief and rolls his shoulders; he muscles had gotten tense, though he tried to ignore it.

Sky followed behind Adney. He was keeping her leaving a little more quiet then he should. "Don't tease me like that. I ruined it again." The teen told him reminding him that she knew that she had done it. "I guess we should get home." She said. He probably didn't want to spend more time with her anyways.

Raising an eyebrow in question to her statement, he seemed to be doing that a lot today, the teacher looked genuinely confused. "I wasn't teasing. I really don't understand why you think you ruined it." he told her, his tone quite serious indeed. He didn't know what she was talking about; they weren't fighting, nor had she threatened him with her sleep sand. How was it ruined? She was certainly a strange girl, with all these poor assumptions about herself. Maybe she had self esteem issues? That would certainly explain it, but he couldn't say for sure why they might be. "Home? If that's what you want." he shrugged, not about to argue with her. He'd certainly take her back to her dorm, if that's what she wanted, but he wasn't quite ready to go back yet.

Again Adney made her pick what she was going to do. Torn between two choices. Going home seemed like a fitting punishment for her while she wanted to stay out along with her date. "I don't want to, but you probably don't want to hang out with someone who would probably end up walking away and ruining a date." The teenager answered.

Waving a hand in dismissal at her claims, the redhead still looks mildly amused. "Bah, nothing a little groveling by yours truly can't fix." he grinned, replacing the hand in his pocket. "You only get mad when I say something insensitive. Which, quite frankly, I should probably work on." he wasn't the sensitive type, so it probably happened more often than he realized. "I don't apologize to just anyone, you know." he tapped one finger near his collarbone, drawing attention to the bullet he had received for not apologizing. It was probably a good thing Sky wasn't in any of his classes, as he was a bit of a hardass when he wasn't flat out teasing his students.

Sky smiled as she stepped along side of him. She was glad that she didn't ruin the date. She reached out her hand to hold his, but pulled it back. Some pride issues she had prevented her from holding it. "Well that's good to hear." The young woman said as she stepped ahead of him. Once she was ten feet ahead she stopped and leaned over. Revealing just how short her skirt was. She had black lacey underwear on. Must have been Ashley's doing. She was turning to get a penny she found off the ground, her nails just were long enough.
