Drean looked at his own hand in confusion. "sorry, I didn't even notice that I was doing that..." he ran a quick diagnostic again. "Well, there aren't any hardware problems with it... I'll have to run a software check later..." He muttered reluctantly. "It takes forever to scan my own brain... but why do you think THAT was behind the door? It certainly seemed random..."

The Doctor/Katrina raised a hand. " I have a theory. These doors contain people's darkest fears. each specially chosen for a certain person. For example, Katrina's door had a dead version of me."

Drean thought for a moment, then shuddered. "Well, be glad I didn't open mine... We might have been in some deep cyber-trouble..." he blinked a few times. Can we move away from here? I'm getting all kinds of pop-ups telling me to open the door... True to his word, Drean's machine-enhanced sight was, for the first time, turning up pop-up ads, all advocating him to open the door.

" Sure. And everyone don't touch any doors!" The Doctor/Katrina said sternly. Katrina/the Doctor nodded and began to move.

Drean began stumbling a little, slowly losing his vision to the advertisements. Ummm, doctor! Doctor, I can't see! There are pop-up ads everywhere, all telling me to open a door! He tried to find the wall to guide himself, but accidentally knocked a door open. Inside was a group of cybermen, all waiting around an operating table. Drean, not realizing what he had done, stumbled into the room without a sound. The door slammed shut, and the advertisements disappeared.
You will be upgraded! You will be Cyber Elite commander! The cyberman slammed its hand to its chest, and drean could feel the mechanical parts of his body shut down.
no... NO! NO NO NO NO NO!!!!! Lemmie out, lemmie out!! Drean tried to make his way back to the door, but with most of his body deactivated, he could barely limp, let alone run. As he reached for the knob, he discovered that the door was locked tight. Doctor! HEELLP! He shouted as the cybermen came up behind him, grabbing his arms and pulling him towards an operating table, surrounded by strange-looking machines.

The Doctor/ Katrina and Katrina/ the Doctor ran back to the door. " Drean!" They tried desperately to get in. Katrina/The Doctor finally got it open with the sonic screwdriver. " The Doctor is here!" she/he said triumphantly.

When the door swung open, they were greeted by several rounds of laser fire. Standing among them was drean, both eyes glowing red. Virus integration complete. Unit is now completely conditioned and prepared to be Cyber Elite... It was easy to see that some of the Doctor's changes to Drean's body had been undone, like the Doctor's removal of his gun.

The Doctor/ Katrina sent a signal from the sonic screwdriver to confuse the cybermen. Katrina/The Doctor grabbed Drean. " Good gravy! This is quite a scene!" The Doctor/ Katrina helped pull Drean out of the room.

Drean tried to fight back, but he was once again severely weakened as his mechanical body shut down. It was simple for them to drag him out of the room, and in his confused state, he could hardly even stand up on his own, so he fell to the floor, where he kept trying to stand up again, but failing miserably.
When they had left the room, their location had changed, leaving them in front of the TARDIS. A voice came over the speaker system for the hotel, one that was seething with confidence. Give up, my dear Doctor! You're old and feeble, and I nearly beat you four regenerations ago! I'm giving you this single opportunity to leave my maze unharmed. If you refuse, you shall be merely my eternal playthings, and your remaining regenerations will be mine for the taking... Choose wisely, Doctor, and leave while you can, before I, the Valeyard, decide to no longer play quite so gently...

The Doctor/ Katrina and Katrina/The Doctor were confused. " Wait we can just go? No like you can leave but?" Katrina/The Doctor asked.

The speakers remained silent, giving no more answers.
Drean had started crawling towards the TARDIS, and soon reached the doorstep. The doors silently swung open, and Drean crawled inside.
Corrupted Unit Detected. Deleting Cyber Programming... The screen read. A cable snaked out from under the control panel, firmly attaching itself to his temple. Drean froze and became stiff, finally resting on the floor of the TARDIS.

Katrina/The Doctor walked out and saw Drean laying in the TARDIS. " Drean?" She/he went up to him and saw he was off. " Doctor!" The Doctor/Katrina hurried over and saw Drean. " Oh dear. I think the TARDIS got a bit confused."

After a couple minutes, the cable snaked back into the TARDIS, and Drean rose to his knees, gripping his head. Ugh.... What happened? I feel like I have about a dozen hangovers... and I don't even drink... When he looked around and saw where he was, he smiled. I guess that we finally made it back...
Additional unused hardware has been activated, all cyberman-originated data and programs deleted. Virus Scan: 100% Clean.

Katrina/ The Doctor and The Doctor/ Katrina breathed a sigh of relief. " For a second there we thought... Well you know.." The Doctor/Katrina said relieved.

Drean looked down, more than a tiny bit ashamed. I- I'm sorry, guys. Maybe it's not such a good idea for me to be here. Machines like me are pretty easily controlled by outside forces... Even if I'm only machine in part... He walked over to the control panel, running his hand along the edge. If I go out again, the TARDIS installed new firewalls, but there's no guarantee that they'll work. He had always felt like the living time machine had been the only one to truly understand him since his near cyber-conversion. He could understand it, like a voice in his head. He always felt better inside of the TARDIS. It was more like his home than anywhere else.
