Shairi sighed a breath of releif. "Oh, alright then."
Kichea smiled at the little cub. This might be easier than she though. "What game do you want to play, Ceari?"

"I don't know..." The little femme sat back, tail flicking around her haunches.
Akin picked himself up and shook the white dust from his fur. "Come along Shairi." He padded towards the riverbanks.

"Yes, father." Shairi said following in his pawprints as they walked down to the river.
"Perhaps you would like to play tag? Or hide and go seek? Or charades?" She listed all the games that her cubs had fun playing, and eventually, the games became challenges of their skills, which she prided herself in advancing.

"Charades?"
Akin stopped at the riverbank, taking a seat there. "You know that Essence and Jayvyn are not coming back to the Pride..."

Shairi nodded. "I know. They're both making their own way in the world." Though it pained her to watch them both leave without her, she understood what that meant.
Kichea nodded. "Yes. Charades. It's a silent game where you pretend to be something else and I have to guess what it is. When i figure it out, it's my turn to pretend."

Rasha yawned as she layed on her belly basking in the sun, it was another long day at the pride but for the past few days she started to wonder, did she belong here? "Man I messed up again...I can't seem to just catch anything...I'll never be a good hunter." She grunted flipping over to her back letting the sun hit her belly as her paws flayed up in the air. Rasha yawned again slowly turning to her side and drifted off into sleep.

"Oh..." Ceari blinked at the Queen.
Akin smiled sadly, the wind from the lake ruffling his mane. "I have talked to Essence...he won't come back to the Pride." He felt like he had disappointed his son. The Silver King hadn't wanted to crowd his son, wanted him to feel free. "There is no heir to Silver Dawn..."

Shairi didn't fully comprehend what her father was telling her. "What of it?"
Kichea smiled at the cubs innocence. "Well, is that the game you wish to play?" She asked thoughtfully, leaving the other options open for choice as well.

"With no heir to Silver Dawn, the title goes to you, Shairi." He snuck a glance at his only daughter. "If you want it, that is." He was still young and virile, the King could try again.

Shairi blushed. "Me? You think I could do it?" She was flattered, but did she want to be tied down? She wanted a mate. She wanted a family.

"I am sure you could." Nuzzling his daughter's cheek the King sighed. "Only if you want the title, my dear daughter." The Silver male stretched and stood. "If you want, think about it. You're answer will be supported either way."

She sighed. "I wonder... I wish to have a family... but could I take command and still be happy?" Her father had managed it, but could she? She didn't multi-task too well.

A few days later found the King stretched out in front of his caves. There was something bothering him about Kichea. She was acting strange again, and if his eyes hadn't failed him she had been putting on weight. It was unlikely that she was gorging on food. Rolling onto his back and unconsciously mimicking his eldest, the King's legs stuck straight up.

Kichea pranced over to him, free of many pounds. "Akin, love... I have news..." She smiled at him. "News of joy."

Silver eyes noted the loss and his heart stopped at the thought of what the weight may have been. "Yes, Kichea?" He rolled to his feet, ignoring the coating of white dust in his pelt.
