They had to keep their boat? Holly sighed. Maybe she'll make improvements or something. Homework appeared to be just raising a minipet thing. It didn't look too exciting but how hard could it be? Didn't seem like she had to actually do anything so that was good. Leaving her boat at her desk she went to grab one of the purple things. The ghoul couldn't believe that humans started out from something like this. (profile: elvyralani )

Calder looked up, sighing. Yes. It was best to be perky and happy. Frowns made people think you were miserable and then it was harder to make friends. Charlie might even get bothered if he was too sad or grumpy.
Forcing a smile, he perked up and heaved himself out of his chair. "Sorry." He ruffled Charlie's hair to counter the poke that Riley gave him, before walking to the front of the class. There, he picked out a little blob from a jar, but unlike Riley, he couldn't proudly put it on his boat. The little boat he put into his pocket while the little blob went into another. With that done, he left class looking better but still feel down.

He'd been watching others attempt to float their boats when he saw a flash of color. Lilith stepped up to the bucket. Lilith...oh, Lilith. A thousand thoughts flashed through his mind, only to end up on simple point: He'd forgotten to call her. Draven sank in his chair. How had that happened? When? How long had it been? Would she ever forgive him? What should he say to her? The questions were still flying in his head when Professor Savage called an end to class. It was hard to focus on what she said, but he did catch the part about homework. Normally he would have been delighted to see the chart of human evolution. He would have studied it, and maybe even asked questions. However, the sinking feeling in his stomach over Lilith was rather distracting. Then Lilith looked at him. He'd heard about looks that could kill, and was amazed to find himself rather not dead when her eyes left him. She clearly was angry. Draven swallowed, then rose from his seat, making sure to grab his boat. He went to front of the class and retrieved one of the purple blobs. He wanted to be excited about it, it dealt with humans after all. He just couldn't be. He eyed the door. Maybe he could still catch her. If not, he would have to call. Quickly, and a bit terrified, a rather damp Draven left the classroom, boat and Blob in tow. (( GrnGriff ))

That had seemed a relatively quick class. Rosc glanced at the jar that held his homework from last class, which was now chewing on its hand between staring dumbly at the boat and rolling around in the water at the bottom of the jar. He wasn't really sure if getting another one wouldn't get him in trouble, his newest minipet was a little more curious than the other ones. Nah, Gale wouldn't do anything to the blob. He carefully put the jar back into the side pocket of his bag, picked up his boat, and walked over to the jar on Savage's desk. The gooey minipet immediately went into the jar with the other one, the incubus watching carefully for a few minutes to determine if it was a bad idea. The older mini simply grabbed the younger and began cuddling it, only to have the goo escape and wiggle its way around the jar as the first one chased it. With a shake of his head, Rosc headed out to take those two back to his room and separate them. (Profile - Reeshie)

The Sea Hound would have been the finest vessel in the land, it would go on night rides through the oceans of midnight blue. Damien was glad he could keep his ship, already feeling attached the the lump of wood, maybe if he was lucky he could shove it in a bottle and frame it in his room. He fought back a yawn while Professor savage showed them a rough cycle of the human evolution. Strangely enough it reminded him of his favorite foxfire Chromium, all the various stages of its life except it stayed poofy whereas the human.... never was.
Dropping by the desk to pick up his homework, he gave the purple blob a little shave and it spun around in its jar, wiggling madly. ""Hey there little buddy, I see you in there!" he told the little blob as it stared back at him. Yes, it was his little buddy, Captain Homework of the Sea Hound. It would go on grand adventures on the boat in his bathtub, hopefully the boat could stay afloat with the jar on board.
Looking around at all the other students with their homework jars, he spotted the familiar pajama eared ghoul from the island, staring at her jar. "Hey Holly, maybe if we're lucky our blobs can fight each other." he barked out from a few desks away. The hound had faith in Captain Homework, he was burly enough to pilot a ship, that had to mean something.

Class was finished, already? Yaya's face fell in obvious disappointment as their teacher wrapped everything up, presented their homework, and dismissed them. Despite the mess of the floor, that had actually been a rather enjoyable class. Both content and company.
Folding her hands in her lap, the djinn glanced beside her towards Johan, sure he was ready to leave, and offered him a smile. "Hey, it was good seeing you again." She very wisely did not attempt to touch him, remembering his request, silly though she thought it might be. "Take care, I'll see you around." Hopefully sooner then later. She wasn't sure what it was about him that appealed to her, but she found herself enjoying his company. Similar to her attraction to West's moods, perhaps. He was terribly different from herself.
Jove would find her arm curling around one of his as she turned in her chair to face him. "Do you think you could grab me one of those jars when you fetch one for yourself?" She leaned so she could rest her chin on his shoulder, grinning benignly at him. "Pretty please." The least she had to make contact with that floor, the better, and she certainly couldn't carry the thing and use her crutches at the same time.
Perhaps if Jove wasn't keen on it, West could carry the thing back to her room for her, since they lived so very close.

"I'll gettit, kid," West said, waving a hand at the wisp. He hurried to the front of the room, crunching glass all the way, and nabbed two jars, pausing for a moment before picking up a third for Jove. Why not? The ghost boil wasn't all that bad. Maybe if more people shut their mouths around here he wouldn't have a reason to hate them too. Overhearing Demi's comments to Holly, West reluctantly had to admit that the hellhound had a good idea. West wondered if these blobs could be taught to have little blobby cage matches. He tapped two of the jars together as he stopped in front of Yaya, but the blobs didn't appear to become any more menacing. He handed the remaining jar to Jove. "Here."He looked around. Time to go? It seemed so. But... Yaya. "Y'want me'ta... C'mon." He dropped her jar into her hands, as well as his own, before motioning to pick her up again. (( smerdle heart ))

Johan listened incredulously as the Professor once again stated that the toad-like things were supposed to represent an eariler stage of human development. How much earlier? Or perhaps it was what a baby human looked like? From the pictures he'd seen, he thought they looked more like monkeys, than amphbians. And if they were amphibians, why in Jack's name would they need boats? Then again, he thought, eyeballing the boats the other students had made, why would any sensible land-dwelling mammal want to build a boat? He looked down at his own, scowl lessening slightly as he idly tinkered with the sail. Well, building them had been sort of entertaining... Which is exactly why he shouldn't waste time playing with it anymore! He'd gone to class, it was over now. He should get back to studying! The scowl returned full force. Haddiya distracted him from further scolding himself, and he glanced over at her from the corner of his eye. He honestly couldn't say it had been good to see her again. But courtesy must be observed. "Good day, Haddiya." he replied, picking up his journal and pens and tucking them away before he went to the front of the class to pick up his 'homework'. (Minipet Profile: Zee)

Aksaja blinked at the jar of purple-things, then glanced at the minipet on his desk, and back to the purple things. More frog-creatures? But purple this time? Oookay, sure why not? And if it gave him extra credit or something . . . that was even better!
Sliding out of his desk, he tucked his boat under an arm and reached into the jar to grab a purple blob. Honestly, this was one of the classes that he had liked the most so far - and to his mind it was actually relevant to what they'd be doing later on, unlike some of the others.

Class had ended, and it looked like he could make up for the homework that had been done in the previous class. Mot was pleased. He got up from his desk with his boat, confronting the desk and staring at the blobs. He wanted a cool one. A lazy one, or even a crazy one. He settled for one that seemed to be slowly banging itself against the glass, as if its brain was on repeat. Aw, so precious. Mot stuck his hand in the jar and took a purple blob, setting it in his boat. Hmm.. maybe it needed water. He scooped water from the shipwrecked bucket and poured it into the boat. There~ It retained water as well as it floated on it. With that, he walked out proudly. (( BritaLee ))

The Grim Reaper's face changed into sheer horror when Professor Savage announced the end of class.
Oh no, she thought. I didn't test it out! Colette stared at her model boat and frowned. Did she just fail the assignment? Did the Professor even notice? COULD HER BOAT FLOAT?!
Hearing about homework and seeing students already leaving, Colette looked up and saw the purple blobs-in-a-jar. She already did the homework, but maybe this could be extra credit to make up for not testing the boat! She had to do it.
Colette grabbed her boat to save for next class -- and for private testing later of whether it floated or not -- and went up to receive her homework.
"Thanks, Professor," she said politely on her way out.

Charlie frowned as he watched Calder leave. His boat had been stuck in his pocket and the demon couldn't help but feel bad that his friends boat did not float. He approached Savages desk and got a purple blob out of the jar just like his class mates before him and headed on out. Maybe he could find a way to cheer up Calder about boats later.

Savage gave a toothy smile to each student as they came up to her desk and picked a squishy blob of a thing out of the jar. She gave Colette a wider grin when thanked.
Mostly right now though she just wanted that sandwich. So help her if any of the other faculty members found it.

Israfel had ended up staring at his boat for a good long time. It was so wrong. So very wrong. She...she wanted it to float? Okay first....no. That would be bad. Very very bad. He couldn't. He shouldn't. But he did. Snapping his boat in half, he walked over to the water and watched with sadistic glee as it sank not even bothering to pull in out or fix it or anything. "I think boats are better when they sink." Israfel was completely serious about this too. Smiling, serious Israfel. Watching as his assigned project failed. Yes, the siren knew that he had failed but he didn't care. The boat had sank. And for him, that was where it belonged. Sitting back at his desk he was still smiling. "Boats are better on the sea floor than on the sea anyway." ( Vamps)

(( Amon )) Sheridan had retrieved his boat from the bucket, now standing a fair distance away as he watched the other students test their own boats, tail twitching with intrigue and a touch of suspicion, as if he expected another torrent of water to crash over him at any moment. One thing was certain, he was most certainly not returning to his previous seat, he was already soaked enough for one class. Something told him it didn't really matter if their boats sank or floated... A brow raised, a doubtful expression as he gazed at the professor and her jar of purple blobs. Those certainly didn't look remotely like -any- humans he had ever seen (not that he had seen one in person, but he'd seen plenty of pictures). Briefly he wondered if the professor was making this all up before shaking his head to dismiss the thought and making his way to the front of the class to collect a blob. He eyed the blob curiously, poking at the glass jar, eyes narrowed at its reactions. Interesting...did it just stick its tongue out at him? Only a moment's pause to ponder, then Sheridan was out the door with his boat and his blob, headed for someplace that was hopefully much drier.
