Nemesis was worried for her art show someone got murdered in the midst of painting. "I need some advice, man" she said to Mad Hatter after she finished her second painting. It was two hours before the art show was scheduled to be opening.

Mad Hatter, now chewing on a worm for his dinner, swallowed promptly and clicked his beak in triumph. "Ah Music to my ears, dear! What is that? I know it has something to do with this since we discussed what happened earlier and we found that solution out. I've been studying your facial expressions you seem worried! What can I help ya with?

Nemesis swallowed nervously, "I don't know jack about this killer, if it struck once a couple nights ago, and again today. I'm pretty sure it may do so while my art show is going on. I want security, but since this is a public event I can't do this on my own to blow my cover..... I want this art show to go on without a hitch! I want spectators and buyers without any fear what so ever!"

Mad Hatter nodded "Understandable.... You do need more profit! Well you don't need it, but I know you do this for comfort, and I don't want these days ever ruined for you. These are your good less dreadful days, and you have days of research ahead of you before you attempt that dreadful brain surgery...I don't want to suggest this to you, but it's the only way. However, you DO have a good reputation around here. You're surgeries have been good with your modifications of mechanical parts on people in peril, and I'm sure the law has seen your art and they know what you do, and I'm sure they won't mind... Um guarding the place at least one or two!"

Nemesis groaned with disappointment... He was right, and she didn't want to do this, but this wasn't a bad idea for her public event when it came to security and her not getting in trouble, it would save her from getting caught too. "Fine! There really isn't another way to do this diplomatically.." She wined, without anymore second thoughts, she locked up the shop with a sign saying ART SHOW GOING ON AS PLANNED IN 2 HOURS! SECURITY WILL BE HERE! NO WORRIES!

She hoped that would convince the citizens well enough to show up at this art show she worked so hard for.

She walked into the police station, and went to the nearest cop, "hello there, she greeted the person with a smile. "I'm running in art show in two hours, and I was wondering if I could have some service there for security since the incident today, I want it to be a success and if there was some security I think I'd have the same amount of spectators and customers, if you need me to pay, I can do that," Mad Hatter was perched on her shoulder remaining silent.

Ossman had been sitting outside Chief Svearingen's office for a good half an hour before knocking again. He didn't want to bother the chief but insisted on talking to her before going off on an unattended and, frankly, illegal crusade for justice. He wanted to go over exactly what he was supposed to be doing this time of day seeing as his shift had been changed yesterday. Sheila sat next to him with her head on his lap. She purred softly every once in a while but made no effort to speak otherwise. "What do you think the Chief is doing?"

Sheila looked up. "Most likely paperwork but you can never be sure." She stretched her leg back and extended herself to her full seven feet before releasing a purring yawn and cuddling back up against Ossman.

"Paperwork, right." Ossman sighed and agreed quietly with Sheila before tilting his head back and resting his eyes.

((sorry about not posting. I at first was waiting for others but then vacationing came up.))

Astrayl smiled at her answer but in his head he was disappointed. 'No one would want these old maps for a reason like that. Oh well I did make a promise.' He watched as Molly came back with the maps. Taking out one, he held it out to her. "For now, I think I will give you one. I have seven maps in total. If you can find away to prove to me you deserve the second map, then do so now. But remember, do something amazing or you would just be wasting my time." When he finished a couple tough looking guys came in but they didn't look like Yakuza at all. A small stocky man stepped up. "Hey we are here for that challenge, beat the master and get a thousand bucks. Is that right?" Astrayl nodded at them as spectators and challengers started to file in to see the events. "Alright but we will have to draw numbers." He looked at the girl. "You are welcome to join us if you would like."

Jared raised his eyebrows, surprised. Chief and the Rhino dude seemed to have come to some sort of mutual agreement. At least Chief wasn't tensed with rage, waiting for the first chance to pound Basil. Not that he disagreed, of course. He didn't take to the burly young man either. Perhaps she was just being professional. Achak ruffled her feathers restlessly, and Jared murmured something to her. Then he turned to Raya and Basil and gave them a cheery grin. "Oh, ho. You sure it was just Rhino dude acting like a barbarian?" He gave Raya a wider grin, letting her know he was just teasing.

Just then, a woman strode up to the trio. She was a fit young woman, with fiery red hair and strikingly blue eyes. It didn't look like a very natural color combination. Perhaps her hair was dyed, Jared thought. Perched on her shoulder was a raven with jet-black feathers. Jared felt hairs run up and down his back. He could tell Achak felt the same way, from the way her feet tightened its grip. Something was unsettling about the bird, though he couldn't place exactly what. The girl didn't introduce herself, instead immediately skipping to the reason she approached. She wanted security for her upcoming art show.

Jared gave her an easygoing smile. "Of course, ma'am. We apologize fir any trouble the earlier ruckus might have caused. We will send a troupe of officers, no fee. We couldn't possibly think to charge you if it'll lower your chances of successful business." He whipped out a notepad from his jacket pocket, and a pen from another. While scribbling messily, he continued, "If you don't mind, might I get your name, address, and time you would like us to arrive?"

Nemesis gave the officer a thankful smile as he reassured her that everything was okay. "s**t!"She thought to herself.."I knew he'd be asking for information, even though that night never showed up in the papers or anything about the drug dealer incident why do I hate this so much?...Eh it's cool I'm fine" She was thinking all of this as she was remembering the exact number of the address of the art gallery. "I'm sorry, I'm still a bit shaken up from what happened today, I forgot to introduce myself, duh... um I'm Nemesis Necronixous, and you don't have to worry about YOU causing the ruccus you were merely doing your job," She said tactfully.

It was the truth, there were people there too, the sniper could have got more people if the cops didn't come, she had no idea what she or the cops were dealing with here. Why didn't SHE join the force if she had such a good knack for busting criminals? There were two main reasons for that. One of them was the fact that there were some attrocities of which that were done that the law just was not hard enough on, those people got away, or walked, or LIVED, Nemesis couldn't BARE to think that she could work with letting people like that go under that criteria. The other reason was, because her father was a cop, her father was abusive, he started drinking heavily when she turned ten and he abused both her mother and her. He went too far one night when she was eighteen, he raped her mother to a point where she died. Nemesis had been going to school to become a biomech doctor what she is now.. She went upstairs and saw everything. Her father was remorseless for the act, and he started to slap her around as well threatening to kill her, telling her he was going to set an innocent man up, the neighbor. Nemesis fought back this time, her father had a blade mod in his arm, he used it, and chopped off her hand. Nemesis wound up taking a kitchen knife and stabbed him.....She cried as she did so, but she made the scene look like her parents killed each other. She worked on her hand, made her claw, her metal hand, and the rest was history.

The Gallery's address is 3698 Fallen Lane, basically right down the road where the scene was I wound up hearing it while I was in the middle of painting, that's why I was a bit disturbed." she said sounding panicked. She was actually annoyed...

Jared nodded knowingly as the girl apologized for not answering right away. She introduced herself as Nemesis Necronixous. Jared's lips moved, separating the syllables in her name as he scribbled it down. "Nemesis Necronixous," he repeated, chuckling. "Bit of a mouthful, your name. Ever thought of giving yourself a nickname?" Nemesis proceeded to tell him the address, a panicky tone entering her voice. Jared looked up momentarily from his notepad, realization dawning in his eyes. "Ah, yes, I heard of that art show!"

Beside him, perched on his shoulder, Achak chirped in a low tone, "You heard, or a handy Swallow-Tailed Kite?"

Jared ignored her. "We are truly sorry for any disturbance the rabble might have caused you in the midst of your masterpieces. Don't worry, we'll be there as promised. I'll just come around an hour early, to familiarize ourselves with the place? Can't have ourselves chasing around a thief if we get lost ourselves." He winked, chuckling. Then he was back to business. "Now, I'll just repeat this to you so I don't have any information wrong. You are Nemesis Necronixous, resident at 3698 Fallen Lane, and you need security for your art show in approximately two hours. Excellent! If you don't mind, I will assemble a troupe right away."

He watched, unmoving, as the girl nodded and walked away, then realized Chief Raya was still there. He smiled sheepishy in embarrassment and apology. "Er.... ain't I a good cop, Chief? Er... permission to... er.... lead the security team, I s'pose?"

Nemesis giggled when he was a bit baffled at the fact that her name was a bit long. It really was.. She didn't know what to say when he asked her about a nick name. "How about Necro?" Whispered Mad Hatter jokingly.. Nemesis looked at Mad Hatter, and shook her head. "I really never thought about giving myself a nick name, never earned one I thought nick names were more so earned than made up from the person who has the regular name you know?" She smiled again.

This guy wasn't turning out to be so bad for a cop, it was strange to feel that she was trusting this guy. She decided to come out with her other profession since he had already heard of hers and seemed eager." This guy seems legit I think you should offer your other services if something were to happen." Mad Hatter whispered.

"Yes that's the gallery, I live upstairs, but I also am a biomech surgeon, I've been one since I was nineteen," She pulled out her certificate at the biomech hospital. "So if anyone gets hurt, or needs a tune up, I can help "

The girl - Nemesis - offered more of services to Jared. Apparently, she was a biomech surgeon as well. Interesting. Looks like she's multi-talented. Jared smiled at the girl. "Thank you very much, ma'am. As a matter of fact, I do know a few people who might want a tune-up. Thank you so much for your services."

Jared turned to grin at Raya. "Hear that, Chief? Looks like you have options." What he really meant was, 'You don't have to get your arm sabotaged by that jerk-a**.'

Raya smirked at Jared when he spoke of barbarians, "Well, I have to admit, Shai went a little crazy." She chuckled as the tiger scoffed, but when the woman with the crow walked up her smile faded. She decided to let Jared handle this, so that she could asses both him and the girl. Her eyebrow raised when the girl's voice became slightly panicked as she gave her information. Raya nodded when Jared agreed to send security to the girl's art show, "I don't see why not. We'v got plenty of officers." She watched the woman closely. Something seemed off about her. Raya couldn't place her finger on it, but she decided that she would need some more time to study the woman. She turned to Basil, "You'll be on duty at her art show. We'll talk about everything soon." When the girl spoke of her profession, and Jared turned to Raya with a cheery comment, the Chief shrugged, "I guess. I'm not sure if it's any better, though." Having someone you didn't trust in the least work on your arm was not something that would make you very enthusiastic. The girl seemed nice enough, but Raya wasn't completely sure. Jared seemed flattered enough by her, so perhaps Raya was simply paranoid. Who knew?

Drusilla MacKelter was known for many things, one of which was her annoyance with the mishandling of evidence. She was also known for completely disregarding decorum in the precinct. So when she burst into the chief's office, Sansa by her side, it prooved no surprise to anyone.

"You have got to start stressing the importance of properly labeling evidence!" Drusilla shouted, marching up to the desk and nearly slamming two bags down onto the wood. "Do you know how much stress this has caused me? There's paint on everything and your idiots keep calling it blood!"

Drusilla seemed to notice the other's in the room around her, including one rhino boy. "Why didn't you tell those idiots better!" She poked him in the chest.

Sansa for her part padded over to Shai, much clamer than her partner. "Someone decided to murder an up and coming artist at her own show. I'm surprised you didn't get the call." Sansa's voice was clear and soft, a lazy sort of sound as opposed to Dru's excitable tones.

[You have things a little mixed up here. ^_^ Jared, Raya, and Basil aren't in the Chief's office, they're pretty much outside the police station, standing in front of the doors. And by artist, do you mean Nemesis Necronixous?]

Before Jared, or the Chief or Basil, could say anything else, a young woman stormed in, shaking two bags in Raya's face. Jared recognized her. Boy, did he recognize her. Drusilla MacKelter, daughter of the former Chief of Police and ultimate workaholic. The blunt and informal woman often scared Jared.

Not caring whether or not the Chief had been speaking with another, and probably more important, matter, Drusilla marched up and began speaking right away, her anger obvious to all present. Achak chirped and repositioned herself on Jared's shoulder, agitated by Drusilla's flamboyant entrance. Drusilla's partner, a puma, followed in a short while after, explaining the situation much calmer than its human partner.

Chief Raya wasn't the only one that was victim to Drusilla's anger. Suddenly, the scientist whipped around and spotted Basil, poking him none too gently in the chest. Being smaller than Basil, Jared hoped that Drusilla didn't spot him yet.

Jared cleared his throat, beginning to inch toward the door. "Well, uh, Chief, it looks like you're a bit... tied up at the moment. I'll just, uh, go and... assemble my team! Yeah. See ya!" He threw Raya a clumsy salute and sidled out the door.

Once outside, he sighed in relief and walked briskly down the halls. "Can't tell ya how glad I am to be outta that madhouse, Achak," he muttered.

"Indeed. That was Drusilla MacKelter, was she not?" Achak chirped. "She's a hardworking woman."

Jared snorted. "She's a scary woman."
