(( Removed that post for ya Kieko smile ))

Rachel kicks open the door she believes is the door of the Enemy Captain's Quarters. Her guess was good, as she finds a cowering Spanish Captain in the far right corner of the room.

"Well, aren't I the lucky one?" She closes the door and locks it as she walks towards the Cowering Captain. "What, are you scared I'm going to kill you?" she asks him as she watches him cower in fear. "Not much of a Captain now are you?" She laughs and points the gun at the Spanish Captain.

"Bye bye Captain" she giggles as she pulls the trigger, as blood splatters all over her face. She then walks back out into the real action.

(( whee I had to get bloody... Wow, I didn't realize how sadistic that made me appear until I read it as a post... ))

Arrin was excited for battle, but this time she tried to use a little common sense instead of just hurling herself into the fray. She was only armed with a knife and hammer (since she hadn't earned enough dubloons to afford a larger weapon yet) she decided to play it safe and stay near the back, taking care of the enemy fighters who had already been wounded at least.

"Arr, 'tis a good thing I'm not up ahead like some others" she muttered as she slit a fallen pirate's throat. "I'd be fishbait for sure, even if I had some other blade 'sides this knife." It hadn't taken Arrin long to realize that not only was she under-armed compared to some others, she also had a distinct size disadvantage. True, she wasn't that much smaller than the rest of the crew, but some of these enemy pirates were pretty big. All in all, it was probably best for her to stay in the background. After all, someone had to keep the wounded foes from rising again. Still, she would have liked a bigger slice of the action. "Just wait 'till I get me a sword...and a few more inches on me. Then I'll show 'em." Still muttering to herself, Arrin continued about her task.

Sin cursed. he eyed the fray below him, from high on the rigs, pondering whether or not to he wanted to join in. He sighed. Might as well, for he was a sitting duck out here. He lept down, and again, just as before, picked up a weapon from a felled pirate and eyed the fights.

Too small to really fight, but too big to lurk. Better take on some near the side- maybe a chance of pushing them overboard or the like. He sighed, how troublesome. Better troublesome than dead, he supposed, with a hefty swing of the borrowed sword to another man's chest.

Captain's Hat +10

The Captain stepped aside nimbly as a large, mostly blunt kitchen knife was thrust angrily at her by a portly sailor. A quick swish of her significantly sharper cutlass and the poor sod was done for.

The crew of the Spanish vessel was truly no match for her own band of untrained but vicious fighters. The Dementia's pirates may be fresh from the cradle but most of them had rudimentary skills with sharpened objects, unlike the crew of the wallowing trader, who were almost universally unfamiliar with any sort of weapon.

It was ridiculously easy. It wasn't pretty, or fair, but that was piracy. Katherine gave the fallen sailor a quick once over for hidden valuables and then headed off to help slaughter the remaining Spaniards.

And the battle concludes!

The crew of the Dementia scored a total of 68 points. Out of a possible 90 points, that makes 75%.

As the Dementia had 46 cannons to the other ship's 28, we will use percentage scale F to calculate damage.

In percentage scale F a threshold of 60% must be met to allow victory. Less than 40% means failure and a mandatory injury roll. Anywhere inbetween these figures still constitues victory but half the participating crew must take injury rolls.

So today's battle is a flawless victory for the crew of the Dementia! The Quartermaster will be along shortly to announce booty and shares.

With the added bonus from getting above 70%, crew shares equal four doubloons.

Ship's boys get one share (four doubloons each), Seamen get one and 1/4 share (five doubloons each) and officers get one and 1/2 share (six doubloons each).

You cannot spend these doubloons until you are next in port.

Since the ship was not heavily damaged, it is possible to sell the ship to a local Ship Yard, or you may sink the ship.

Gabriel comes out of the cabins after hearing no more calamity. He wonders how the battle went and how many injured ship-mates there were.

He sees the crew laughing and dancing, so he realized the Dementia had won, so he wanders through the crouds of people looking for his battle instructor, the ship's Master-at-arms, Rachel Williams. "Where could she be, we had a lesson planned for today."

Rachel hears a distict voice she was familiar with, it was the voice of that young boy Gabriel, she goes over to where the voice was coming from, and ran right into Gabriel, "What are you doing out here?" She asks him looking fairly stern, "for all you know we could still have been in battle!" she pauses for a moment to hear what Gabriel has to say for himself.

Gabriel looks down at his feet, "I am sorry, but I heard no more commotion and I assumed the battle was over." He looks back up, "I am wondering if we will still be doing our lesson today?" He asks.

Rachel sighs, "Yes we will be doing our lesson. Go grab your training sword, and I will meet you down at the training dummies."

She goes over to her room to put away her gun, then heads off to the training dummies to teach Gabriel how to fight.

Gabriel smiles, then runs to the cabins to grab his training sword, then tears down to the training dummies. "I hope this is my last lesson, then I can help Rachel and the others in battles!"

With the battle over John had returned quickly to the Galley avoiding any of the slippery blood on the deck. He was rather glad he wouldnt have to smell that or clean it. Of course he knew he needed to work fast, the battle had been short but intense and soon many of his fellow shipmates were going to want to eat despite have just removed other peoples innards.personaly as distastefull as it wav he wasn't eating anything more complex than hardtack untill his stomach felt less queasy.

The young woman's panting was slowing as she leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees. She sat on the railings of the ship, feet over the side. Jamie rocked with the slight motion of the sea below, the sound calming her after the exellerating battle. Her hair had come undone and the loose mane fell over her thin shoulders. She ignored it for the moment, trying to regain her normal breathing. She shook slightly, adrenaline still pumping through her veins.

Several cuts were sported along her arms and legs. Nothing was to damaging though. And it seemed as though several bruises were forming on her thin wrists. That idiotic man hadn't let go when she had tried to wretch free. For that he ended up with one of her knees to his groin, then to his gut as he doubled over. He had been finished off with her heel to his neck. Beautiful, yet merciless.

Now she reached for her hair, pulling it all to one shoulder, shifting it over so as she could begin to braid it once more. Even though her fingers trembled as she sat up, making herself comfortable for the short work required, she seemed to be able to weave a perfect braid. She blew her bangs from her face. Those were the pesky hairs that were not yet long enough to stay tied back. Blinking them away momentarily she then tied off her braid and placed her hands on the railings for balance.

Jamie looked to the sea and away from the ship they had bombarded. The sea. The place one could feel free.

Rachel gets down to the room with the training dummies, to see Gabriel already there waiting for her. She starts marking Large X's on the dimmies.

"Alright Gabriel, this is you last lesson and then I will give you a final test," She smiles, "you have been doing great, and you are almost ready to fight in a real battle!"

Gabriel smiles, "My last lesson, then a Final test?" He laughs a little, "what will the final test be, and what is the lesson?"
