"If those are your feelings concerning your ally, then your death will be of no concern to your master either. I, Byakuya Kuchiki, of the 13 Protective Squads of The Sereitei due hereby hold you under arrest for the murder of many citizens of Aron, along with countless crimes against the Free Peoples of the Resistance. You may come with me willingly, or by force." Byakuya looked at the Espada, and pulling forth his sword summoned the Senbonzakura Kageyoshi once more.
"Your life is now solely based on your decision. Answer here for your crimes, or in the Courts of Pure Souls." Byakuya Kuchiki spoke the last part loudly, the million petals of Senbonzakura circling around him, ready to strike.

"A million petals of the cherry blossom tree," Ulquiorra took notice of Byakuya's technique and nothing more. This one had been used against Lenovaron. "Tiny blades which reflect the light in a manner which makes them appear as such, otherwise invisible to the human eye. That technique...cannot cut my iron skin." The arrancar commented evenly, not a hint of arrogance to his monotone voice. It was spoken solely as if it were fact, about which there could be not a single doubt.
"I won't waste anymore time on trash," the Arrancar muttered dully, turning his back to Byakuya and Gheis in order to touch his hand to an invisible, wall, opening up a black hole out of thin air. Ulquiorra set one foot into the portal and glanced over his shoulder, taking one last look at the two captains. They were nothing more than insects to him, nothing more...and when the time came, he would not hesitate to crush them.

The Good Doctor merely watched the two with a bemused grin. It was true that the tiny blades of Captain Kuchiki's sword would have very little effect on that thick dermis, something more pointed was needed. As the arrancar prepared to leave, Gheis couldn't help but sense that Byakuya was goind to do something incredibly stupid and gallant, but mostly stupid. So, cutting him to the chase, the Good Doctor looks down from their foe to cast a side-long glance at Kuchiki, "Don't you think it's time to gather our wounded and head back to the Seireitei? Our enemy is retreating and we have a new ally awaiting us in the Rukongai whom, I think you will be surprised to see. And don't worry about that lifeless husk over there, just gather the weapons for study." As he spoke, Gheis seamlessly transfered from speaking to Byakuya to the little mechanical sappers which had suddenly sprung up around him. Pulling a device from his pocket, the Good Doctor began to input codes and await Byakuya.

Byakuya nodded, not having felt any of Gheis' expected emotions at all. He knew that his power was at a minimum, and the retreat of the Arrancar, although ultimately detrimental to the Resistance, was the only positive end for this battle. The Resistance had been unprepared, and Byakuya regretted not having made better preparations.
"You have the two who were hurt in this battle? The overall death toll of Aron is too massive for us to easily clean...I will send a detachment of the 4th, but nothing more can be done. I am returning to Soul Society to make an official report." Byakuya addressed the facts at hand, ignoring the mention of a new member. The academy summoned new Shinigami every day, a new ally was hardly something note-worthy. The captain sighed, bringing open a Senkai gate to go back to Soul Society. He would worry about other matters in due time.

Sora stuck his head out from behind a half-destroyed building, a look of awe on his face. A moment of silence followed, before the look turned into a wide grin. "That was so COOOL! Those Espada are somethin' fierce. I wish I could fight one, but they're soooo tough and I'd probably have to use all my tricks if I wanted to beat them!" Sora leapt out from behind the structure, moving towards the fountain where his hoped-for item was.
"Here we are! All I have to do is get in here..." Sora said, leaping into the fountain. The character looked around quickly, noticing a faint glow at the bottom...there, he expected was his prize. Stabbing his dagger into the ground, the mystical barrier of the Fountain that would never died was split open, and a red glow appeared before him. "A flame that burns away the unworthy huh? This Red Dragon Aura's gonna be SOOOOO cool!" Sora lifted his prize, laughing out loud. Before the good doctor could choose to interfere, Sora decided to take his leave and used his Flash Movement to disappear from the scene of battle.

Before Kuchiki's departure, Gheis made sure the other captain was fully aware of the situation by adding in, "The one, actually. If you hadn't noticed, dear Mr. Gustav didn't survive the fight. And I really must suggest you tend to the new arrival to the Rukongai. Only someone of your standing would be able to fully... welcome him to our little world... or at least fully explain why he is there." Winking as he said this, the Good Doctor vanished with Kyle over his shoulder, using his own means of conveyance rather than that archaic gate. Though it was a suggestion to Kuchiki, it would be more than obvious to any blithering idiot as to the nature of such a request, or so it seemed to the Good Doctor, in any case, he felt Kuchiki should probably welcome the newcomer since it was his fault the newcomer was there to begin with.

Chance favored the Espada, it seemed, as Ulquiorra's glance over his shoulder allowed him to catch sight of the creeping character carousing through the carnage and towards the eternal well. When Sora leaped down in, Ulquiorra hesitated a moment, until a flash of nearly-invisible speed escaped from its stone depths and began moving out of the Ruined City. It was hard to tell what he had done, but the image had been captured...etched forever in his stoic eye.
With that interesting turn of events passed, Ulquiorra stepped his other foot into the portal which closed immediately behind him. Once back in Hueco Mundo, he would make a full report to his Emperor, and from there, the attack of the Empire would truly begin to take form.
