Fedora let out a sigh she didn't know she'd been holding, noticing his glance to both her and Thyme. How strange, that his gaze should land on them two.
She turned to him. "... did you get that?" She kept her body straight and poised, still ready to defend herself should the need arise. It seemed like she wasn't the type to just deflate when danger went away; she was always on guard.
Nodding to everyone, she started walking away, bending down to grab her medkit for just a moment, walking, towards the water, without a word. They could follow if they liked. She just needed time to... unravel, really. And think. A lot.

(( Alas! D: *half-expects a mob for having talked people into this XD* Thanks for the game, kalindara!))
"No bandage bullets, alas," Theta Nine said to Zeta with genuine regret. Looks like he was just going to have to go the medic gig on his own. "And your apology is duly noted." Well, he could afford to be more generous than that. "Apology accepted," he amended, an unseen smile bright in his voice. Lifting his voice, he called out, "Anyone need bandaging up?"
He had been keeping a wary eye on the figure as it spoke with Tattoo and Fedora, but the attack on Gamma Eight still caught him by surprise. "How can we trust you not to mislead us?" he asked the figure as he edged toward Gamma Eight, bandages (not fists, promise) at the ready. Apparently others had the same idea, because there they were, charging again. Expecting the figure to vanish into the mist like the shadows from earlier, Thyme almost regretted this. He wanted answers more than he wanted their opponent's destruction. But then again, would their erstwhile gamesmaster simply have lied if they talked on? He did not know. He hated not knowing.
He stared as a portal opened behind the figure. That couldn't be happening. But it was. And what was this big test? "Well, that was... unexpected." He wondered if he should worry about getting punched -- or worse -- now that the figure had gone and taken away the pendant. His fingers brushed over the edge of his medkits. Were they ever gone? Who knows. He cast a glance at Theta Two and Delta Four. "What now?"

Gamma 12 had nothing to retrieve..and it seemed that attacking the reaper had only garnered them a warning about obeying the rules. She attempted to massage her temples through the mask, frowning a bit. There...wasn't really been much for her to do in that fight.
And there was a part of her feeling useless for not being a very active participant in much of anything. In fact, she was still as unscathed as she had been when she woke up in the medical tent. Hnnngh. What a pain in the a**.
"Well that proved to be fruitless, though we did stave off some killing each other for a little while longer...." she crossed her arms, pondering where the two missing teammates had wandered off to yet again and wondering what would happen from there.
Only thirteen....only thirteen...

“That’s right! You get yo’ a** out my face!” He was feeling pretty proud. Screw the game. He’d found a team, gotten them to follow his lead, and he beat a reaper. If only someone could magically heal him completely and then hand him something warm and filling to eat, his day would be perfect.
Imani went over to the medkits and found his. He picked it up and returned it to his bag, turning and watching Gamma Eight sobbing for a couple seconds. As soon as she stood up, he assumed she was done with whatever it was that was bothering her, (He almost comforted you. xD;; ) and he simply flopped down onto the ground. “Ugh, my stomach.” he complained as though he had eaten way too much ice cream. He lay there for a while, debating healing. Hadn’t he just done that recently? Yeah, he did it right before coming over here! Screw it. Maybe someone would be kind enough to heal him with their extra bandages?
Wait. Were they going to stay a team? Would he be allowed to stay in it? All the other ‘teams’ he had partially joined had shunned him because he was too aggressive. He stared up at the gray sky, waiting for someone to announce that they were leaving him.

Gamma Eight looked up to... Nine. She didn't know their squad, only their colors, and it was understandable that she should be suspected. She had been the one to speak the plans, and to lose the team the pendant indirectly.
"Please?" she asked, holding out her bloody arm, "I don't want to kill. I don't like to kill. I lost half of my team to a text earlier, we won't survive if we're left alone, me and... me and her." She motioned to Gamma Twelve, having no idea that she had adopted Eight's personal mantra.
She was not afraid to die for her teammates, she realized. Her fear was in dying alone.
"I'm Gamma Eight. I'm as confused as y'all are, and I don't like this any more than you do." She thought a moment, and then added: "Do you... do you remember?"

( no problem, kali XDDD <333 it was a lot of fun! )
".... Well, s**t."
Staring as the figure disappeared, Theta-two placed her hand on her hip, running her fingers over what would have been her hair, if the gas mask hadn't gotten in the way. "... That didn't work out." She glanced over to all of the members. It was almost a relief that none of them were dead, and yet... no one had earned their one way ticket out yet either. She listened to the repeat of the words in her head. Get used to following rules. Theta-two didn't know if she'd been a rule breaker in the past. Hell, she might have been a straight-A student. But his words were clearing away more of the fog in her head. The Reaper's words were slowly warping their way into her brain, turning her into something that she might need to be when the time came for it. Damn it, she thought to herself, glancing at the teams around, this would have been so much easier if it was just a beastie. She paused, a canine cutting into the inside of her lip. Or just one person against others.
It was true. Fighting two on two made everything messy. It made hearts go high, and protective sides spike into oblivion. But maybe thats why the Reaper had tested them like that in the first place. To see if they could really just go against anyone for the sake of survival, to see if they could become as cold as he seemed to be. And it was sad that despite her need to protect Thyme and Fedora, that very same need and want was turning her heart hard, sinking her morals down into the depths. Next time, she thought darkly to the spot where the Reaper had disappeared, next time I'll follow your rules. And then you'll be surprised. But for now, she couldn't linger on it, her mind twisting and bending as she turned to the rest of the teams.
Watching Gamma rush to her medkit, and Fedora walk away, Theta-two felt herself torn in all directions. She wanted to follow Bones. She wanted to protect Thyme. She wanted to talk to Fedora. Most of all, she wanted to chase the Reaper in the dark, chase him down and argue with him endlessly, play another one of his little games. Only this time she wanted to do it alone. This time she didn't want to feel this thing called attachment. Because it ruined the games unless every single one of them tossed theirs away. Inching over to Thyme, she looked at the Gamma girl. "I don't think we've been properly introduced, cheri. I'm Theta-two. Thyme and Fedora call me Tattoo. But I introduced myself to Bones as Spock." she said with a light lilt of amusement. Turning to Thyme, she eyed him up and down. "I think you're the one that needs bandaging up." She said, "come on, I'll help if you let me. I'll be the Alfred to your Batman for a few minutes, yeah?"
And when he asked "what now?", she could honestly say she didn't know. Glancing up, she stared at the dark clouds above, the sky that she imagined to be bright blue somewhere very far away. "I don't think we'll get any kicks out of staying here." She said, glancing over at Thyme. "We should keep going, I think. Try and find somewhere else, somewhere with more possible answers, even if theres danger and beasties in the fog." Looking over at Zeta Seven, she gestured slightly. "I'm sorry about earlier. You know Bones, right? I want to meet up with him again. And I would take a wild guess and say you two are allies? Maybe we can team up - if even temporarily - and go look for him. He might have found something, and its better than staying here and waiting for something to happen instead." She was offering a truce, an interest in forming a temporary team. She didn't really know why. The Zeta was still clear in her mind, making jokes that had made her feel far too familiar. She wanted to meet him again, to talk to him again. Figure him out, if only because there were only a few people on this whole damn island right now that she actually trusted.
When Gamma Eight asked if she remembered, there was a pause in her breath. And then a simple, "No, not really." She glanced to the rest of them, and wondered what their answers would be.
And as much as she wanted to hunt down the Reaper, to talk him senseless and follow him into his games, he was nowhere to be seen. And if he was nowhere to be seen, nowhere to be found, then she didn't want to be alone. Not until she had to be.

{ Theta Nine is healing Gamma Eight's injuries. }
Theta Nine took a deep breath, slightly unsteady, then nodded to Gamma Eight. It was, he supposed, only fair given that Theta Two had injured her to save him. Would Tattoo mind that he was undoing her handiwork? Maybe, but he didn't hesitate. "Yes," he said (redundant with the earlier nod, but he didn't care), picking up his bandages and unrolling some to wind around her arm. "I'm Theta Nine, or Thyme. I have to warn you, I'm not very good at this. And I don't remember either." Brows drawing down, he tried his best, nonetheless.
He shrugged off Theta Two's concern. "I'm fine," he insisted. That's his story and he's sticking to it. "Maybe you'll have better luck than me," he said, passing the bandages across to her. "But yeah, let's move on soon. We can team up too, if the rest of you feel like it." He glanced around for Fedora, frowning when she was nowhere to be found. He did spot prints in the sand though.
He cast a curious glance over at Imani. "The knives nicked you too, right? Just before me."

"We need a team," Gamma Eight admitted, "Twelve and I, we need a team. And you... you're a... you're a blue. I fought with you against the Hell Horse... you... I think--" She paused and looked to Gamma twelve.
"I think, since our team has left us, that you are both more than welcome." She smiled to Theta Nine and sighed at being healed. Oh, medics. She had had one with her, once... it would be nice to have one again. Finally, she turned to Seven, her loyal partner, who had shown actual concern for her health.
"And you too."

Lifting up just his head, Imani looked over at Theta Nine. “Nicked? Hey, man, lookit this.” He pointed to the gash in his armor. It looked as though the reaper had planned on trying to chop him in half. After being sure that his injury had been made apparent, Imani flopped back into his limp spread-eagle position. “We gotta get us some knives, yo.”
He was only half listening to the conversation. Where were they going again? “Am I coming? Does that mean we is a team now?” he ventured.

(sorry had to think about my post)
it vanished, just like that. poof, gone. They were full of it, every last one of those ridiculously dressed apparitions. Follow the rules, you get nothing, Don't follow the rules, you still get nothing. It was a shame that those medkits didn't stock aspirin. he had the most killer of headaches behind his mask. "Ugh these things are just impossible to tolerate." Zeta Seven muttered out of exasperation. he needed to just stop bothering with them, even if they held possible answers to their situation. But he could be just as happy to hear an honest thank you than cryptic messages from god knows what the hell was under that cloak. "Thank you." he said back to the man as he ran off to tend to the wounded. he could have used that imaginary bottle of whiskey that bones told him about before all this.
"Crap. Bones and the others. I haveta get moving." Seven told himself, but as he looked around, there were many others who looked as lost as he was not long ago. he was brought out of his musings when his former dance partner was talking to him. She was a strange one, calm but passionate, something he could respect. he liked the mix, it spoke something akin of being honorable. "Hey I'm sorry too, these games aren't for the compassionate. He said with a mild tone of humor in his voice. nice to know he still had the ability to feel, if only for a little bit. who knew by the end what they would all turn into. safe to assume none of the living would ever be the same. "Your right, bones is my ally and I wouldn't mind having someone to travel with to get back to him and the others." he went to put away his weapon as he clapped the Theta member on the shoulder, it wouldn't do well to aim a weapon in a temporary allies face. "hey Alpha Eight, you comin' with us?" he called out to the red clad warrior, he didn't want to let him get away, he had something locked up in his head that he was interested in, that he needed to know, that hopefully he did know. but he wasn't going to force him to come along if that was the case, he had to choose for himself.
Speaking of Eights, he still had to worry over Gamma Eights well being. All she had was her fellow member, twelve, whom shes was admirably defending to the very end. "Listen, Eight." He told her in a hush tone as he turned her in his direction. "I've got someone to catch up to that i just can't leave alone, much like how you are with Twelve, now i can't ask you to come with us if you don't want to, but i can ask you of this." He had to pause and find his voice again, where it went, not even he knew.
"Please, stay alive Eight, be one of the thirteen, just stay alive, alright?"

"I don't see why not..." Gamma Eight reasoned to Eta Eleven, her voice going soft. Again she had lunged into a leadership position when it came to choosing people, and she wondered if Gamma Twelve didn't resent he for it. She certainly hoped not.
Of course her attention was soon captivated by her partner, who did not seem to want to come with her, but definitely had a mouthful to say. She listened to him, eyes stinging, and she had an inkling to touch his hand. She would kill for some contact, any contact that wasn't pain. Instead, her fingers twitched at her side and she inclined her head slightly.
"I'll try," she responded, finally nodding. She looked back to Seven and took a deep breath, "I'd better see you there..."

{ Theta Nine is bandaging up Imani. }
Theta Nine nodded over at Gamma Eight once he finished bandaging her up; then he paused a beat at Imani's reply, tilting his head to study the gash from a different angle. "More than nicked. Next time we meet a Snuggieman, never mind the pendant -- let's make sure he leaves his weapons behind." He made his way over there, bandages in hand. "It might take more than one try. Sit up so I can get the bandages all the way around, yeah?
At Imani's question, he grinned. "I don't know. /Are/ you coming? Up to you, man."

Glancing at Thyme, the girl couldn't but grunt softly under her breath, eyes hardening. "You are not fine." She said with a slight stubbornness, but she didn't press the matter. If Thyme wanted to insist for now, she would let him, but if she saw even the slightest hint of pain, she'd all but rip those bandages from him and hold him down while she turned him into the picture perfect mummy. "Yeah. Best not wait around for another beastie to appear from the wake, huh?" Following her teammates gaze, Theta-two lifted her head, counting the footsteps into the distance. Fedora had left them, perhaps to face the dark on her own, or perhaps just to collect her thoughts. The girl knew that she was in desperate need of collecting her own herself, but she couldn't leave the others now. Not now, especially when she had others to make allies out of. Allies, she thought to herself scathingly, not friends. I've already seen what that can do. I can add another person to my tally of people to protect.
Sure, she wanted to save Thyme's skin. She would do anything to make it happen too. Fedora, and even Bones as well. But she was beginning to realize that as much as she was attached to them, as much as she wanted to save them, things would be so much simpler without the bonds. Things would be a lot more easy. She could win the games, she could pass their tests, if she threw all of that away. But the ones she'd already made... there was no possible way to toss them out. But she couldn't dare to take on any more. No. It was more that she was afraid to take on any more bonds. Because if the swords and shields game was hard enough for her to play with two on the field, she could only imagine how another game would be with five. Ten. It would drive her overboard. No. That game had taught her enough to play the next few games. She'd protect who she could. But then she'd do it on her own. So she couldn't get hurt. So they couldn't get hurt.
When Zeta Seven spoke up again, the girl shoved all of her thoughts to the back of her head, a fast growing simple task to do. Which made her wonder, did she think too much in her past life? Did she used to be just that used to shoving all of her questions and curiosities aside to deal with certain situations? "Nah, they aren't. Too bad, huh? We could play a pretty mean game of passion together." Teasing slightly, the girl shrugged her shoulders, idling from one foot to the other as the other spoke. "Neither would I. So how about it, huh? I still owe you a dance. A less harmful one at that." When Imani spoke up, the girl turned her eyes. He had a strange lilt to his voice, a way he talked that seemed familiar and yet strangely new. "I know Thyme from back at the Lighthouse. Fedora too... but she disappeared." For a moment, she thought about the girl, and silently hoped to see her again.
Chuckling after, she wavered and glanced to the others. "Shall we get going then? I'd rather get on the move sooner than later. Precious seconds and all." Looking over at the others, she placed her hands loosely on her thighs and wondered about the future.
Would they really all see each other again?

{ Theta Nine is healing his own injuries. }
Theta Nine had gotten used to bandaging up arm injuries, but the abdomen wound wasn't nearly so easy. Even when he leaned back to appraise his handiwork, he wasn't entirely satisfied. Fool, a darkling thought scolded in the shadows of his mind. How did he know that Eta XI (how did he know these Greek characters, anyway?) wouldn't attack him down the road? He didn't know, couldn't know (this was being a regular mantra), but he didn't feel like letting it stop him. Not now. He glanced again at the bandages. If Imani came along, he could fix up the bandages later, why not.
Insistences to Tattoo aside, Theta Nine did absentmindedly wind some more bandages around himself, for better or for worse. After all, if he stayed injured, he could end up a liability to Tattoo or Fedora. He wasn't going to do that to them, or to any of their new allies. "Better now?" he asked Tattoo, grinning again under the mask. "I'm not going to let myself become a liability, don't worry." Deep down, however, he feared he already had. If he hadn't talked about going after the hooded figure, maybe she would have a pendant to call her own now. Well, he'd just have to make it up to her somehow.
When Tattoo answered Imani's question, he nodded confirmation, then shifted, tucking his roll of bandages into his belt. "Let's go. Precious seconds and all," he echoed with a quiet laugh. "I think I saw Fedora heading that way, so that's where I'm bound. And we could look for that guy Bones too. Did anyone spot where he was headed?"
