Sepheran could only stare oddly at Jericho. He didn't quite understand what was going on with the other boil, but the others seemed to be caring for him. Even Lizzy had took off to help so he didn't worry too much, he was in capable hands in Sepheran's view anyway. Course that wasn't going to stop him from paying attention to them. What if something did happen then?
Soon his attention drifted instead to the sound of Arachne and soon he could feel her hug him. The basilisk couldn't help but blush slightly but he snaked his arms around the ghoul as well hugging back. "Thank Jack you are alright...I'm sorry...I don't know how I lost you..." he whispered gently truly regretful despite it not being his fault. He probably couldn't have stopped it even if he wanted too.
"Looks like we all got separated in the fog earlier..." he added lightly before everyone seemed to agree to continue. Sepheran nodded lightly as well. This time he'd try even harder to not get separated again.

"I can walk... if I had to breathe, I would be in difficulty," it said, quietly. Candlejack, but its diaphragm ached! "But I do not, so... as long as I do not breathe in more of that hideous fog, I should be fine." It got up, slowly, as if to prove its words, looking up the trail, searching for the lighthouse.
"This place has very dangerous mental effects, I think. My own mind was clouded... it was so cold." It shivered again, but this time it had Riley's warmth to counteract it. Still, when the undead thought something was cold - when it hadn't cared about the snow at all - that was some serious preternatural chill going on! "We need to keep moving, I think. Whatever those signals mentioned were, we need to find them."

At Rileys mental shout Mandy gave a sudden jerk in Alwines grip, throughly startled. W-what on Halloween? Why did that mental voice sound so familar? She could have sworn that she'd never done mental communication, though she had realized it was possible - especially with the fog messing with them (Those voices, that voice), before but still at the words the scent of hot water and flames drifted under her nose.
Eyebrows crinkling she dismissed it as unimportant for now and instead concentrated on the words and figuring out just who had sent it. The words themselves made sense and now that she had her Alwine she couldn't agree more as to the figure, here her eyes drifted over the group, it was probably that purple demonesses - she had no visible mouth after all.
Reluctantly disengaging from her hug with Alwine, already missing the cool embrace, she took her hand and started walking back towards the group and once caught up simply kept walking, they would start soon and catch up.

Arachne was surprised how nice, and how comforting this was. She stayed holding onto him for a moment longer, and then pulled away a little, her own usually pale face flushed with colour.
'Everyone, everyone heard the voices too?' she looked down, and slid a hand over Sepheran's, giving it a squeeze.
'When I was lost, I thought about how often I'm alone. I don't like it anymore. Can I stay with you, please?' she looked at the boil, hoping he would agree, allow her to slowly learn how to give and receive affection. Besides, she liked him - he was far and away the nicest boil she'd met.

Riley was about to give Mandy further proof that it was indeed her voice that commanded the group to move. As Malodore rose, she brought herself to her feet, and took stock of the slowly moving group. Such hesitation.. it irritated her. At least some of them were moving at a healthy rate, but others..
We will find them. She assured Malodore, and slid her hand into it's claws. Though she had just been thinking in determined and clear plans, her mind slid back into blankness for a moment when she felt the smooth comfort of holding on to it's hand once more. Her eyes had even closed for a moment, without her realizing it. She blinked them open, and returned to focusing on the task at hand.
Getting the hell out of there.
One quick look at Lizzy's abandonment had Riley eyeing Jericho with worry. It seemed Aksaja was helping him up.. was Lizzy too busy with that boil from earlier to do as Riley asked?
Curious.
Riley forced her thoughts to clear as she led Malodore down the path, taking the lead of the group. She spoke to everyone even as she walked - she wasn't going to waste time standing there when she could multitask.
All right. No one lag behind, we're going to make it up to the lighthouse safely as a group. She turned her head just slightly, to give those behind her a quick side glance. I apologize, I know there are several of you who don't even know who's talking to you. Introductions will have to wait until we've reached our destination. Forgive the rudeness.
All of this she said while she walked, her steps following a quick and steady gait. She was not going to waste another minute.

Malodore walked alongside Riley, clutching her hand like a lifeline - there was a time and a place to be standoffish about physical contact, and this was definitely neither of the above. It followed silently, its throat sore too from the coughing... but it would heal, given the chance. For now, it just wanted to get to the lighthouse, and find and activate that signal. See if that helped.
If it didn't...
... it couldn't think about that.

Sepheran was a bit reluctant to let Arachne go, especially after having just lost her moments ago but he released her none-the-less nodding softly when she asked about the voices. "Yeah, we heard them...some more then others," Sepheran replied tilting his head ever so softly when he felt the ghoul slid her hand over his.
He smiled lightly relieved to be able to feel her next to him. Having trouble seeing always made him much more keen on touching. Sure he knew people where there, but when he could actually touch them, that just made him feel that he really wasn't alone.
Hearing Arachne explain about her own loneliness touched his heart as well ripping it to shreds. He gave another smile and nodded squeezing her hand gently now. "I'll stay with you as long as you want me too," he replied lightly. "Come...let's catch up to the others before we're left behind," Sepheran added starting to lead the way...or really Liannan leading the way.

'I thought I was going to lose my mind out there.' she whispered to Sepheran her head tilting near to his, giving Liannan a quick glance. She wondered if his companion minded her being this close..at his words she gave a relieved smile, and a few words skipped through her mind when he said but she didn't say them as they shocked even her. How does forever sound?
She let out a breath that she had been holding onto, and pushed such thoughts to the back of her mind, her subconscious seemed to have hooked onto the thought that she was getting on with this boil and had barrelled on ahead. Arachne didn't want to do anything rash, nor hasty as she was just getting to know him..this would not go the same way as Rosciel.
'Okay.' she let him take the lead, her fingers twined with his, the press a constant reassurance that she wasn't alone. She wondered of at any point she could pull Elizabeth to one side to help her sort out her swirling thoughts.

Riley was taking the lead! That means... She won't have to anymore, right? A sigh of relief escaped her lips as she slowed down, allowing the mindflayer and everyone else to move ahead first. Her eyes landed on Jericho and Aksaja once again, however, and she couldn't help feeling uncomfortable - Riley had asked her to not leave Jericho alone, and there she was, doing just that.
As she mulled over that, she released Mac's arm, allowing him to finally move freely again; he wouldn't walk in front if she wasn't dragging him along, but now that there was no longer a need for her to be in front, she didn't feel the need to cling onto him for comfort as much anymore... Besides, another friend probably needed her more right now.
"Don't mind me," She murmured at Aksaja as she moved over to the other side of Jericho, taking his arm like she had taken Mac's just a moment ago. She's not sure if the grumpy reaper would follow her or not, but he's probably happy about not having a clingy spider on his arm anymore. Smiling up at Jericho reassuringly, she patted the back of his hand as they moved.
... It was odd to try to talk to Jericho with the other boil there. Definitely very odd.

Listening to the discussion, more than a little bewildered by it all, he found himself once more honing in on Riley and Aksaja's voices...though admittedly it was rather difficult to ignore the mindflayer. Trundling along behind the dark dragon boil, the nergal shoved his hand into his pocket (the one that fit in a pocket, at least) and nodded his agreement to the proposal. "To the lighthouse then...let's hope it's not worse than it is out here...at least mayhap we'll be able to escape the fog.
It seemed that even more of them were joining them, stragglers catching up. Sepheran and Mandy had been members of his ship, at least. Heh...the nergal rather hoped that the rest of the crew had made it all right...Barth and the others. Ah Jack...they had all gone their own separate ways, what sort of monsters lurked in the other parts of the island?
Riley...if anyone's capable of wrangling the lot of us, I'd place my bets on you...> There was a bit of a mental smile that went along with the thoughts, directed towards the tentacled lass. They were all having it rough...even her...somehow, it made her seem more approachable still.

Even if Malodore had not been clutching her, it would not have been surprised to feel her hand mingled so completely into it's own, that despite one being metal and one being purple flesh, it was still hard to tell where one ended and the other began. She brought the hand up and held it at her chest, keeping it clutched close by her heart.
She drew in a deep breath, her eyes softening in thanks as she watched Lizzy return to Jericho's side. She couldn't think straight until she knew he had the support he needed. Now that her worries were minimized (oh, just worrying about everyone dying, that's all) she was able to focus. Focusing helped her plan, and planning helped her keep everyone safe.
Her head turned just slightly, half-lidded eyes giving Sharra a side glance. His reassurance was well appreciated - as was his presence. Her eyes crescented just slightly in a friendly expression. I'll try not to let you down, then. I'm glad you're here. And safe. She murmured privately to him. If they were in danger, she was glad to see there were people she trusted around to never give up without a fight. Sharra was most assuredly one of those people.
As was Aksaja. She was grateful that he was supporting Jericho, as well. She gave him an affectionate gaze, that silently said as much.

Mandy walked serenely along with Alwine, arm in arm with the ghoul in a hope to keep her in her grip. After all the emotional unsettlement she gone through in the past... how long? Not long enough anyway, she was feeling rather content with just having Alwine with her and a path of action set. She was perfectly happy to let others take the lead and stay out of any further arguments, despite how much she may love to.
At the demoness leading them words, which just confirmed that it was her in Mandy's mind, she waved a hand in dismissal. "No need to apologize, the situation calls for it."

((Just letting you guys know that during the week my replies will be few and far in between, so sorry if it takes me a while to reply to people x.x; ))
It seemed like a eternity that Astra had sat there in the gloom, unable to hear anything but the forceful voices telling her to get out. But if if she wanted to, how could she get out? When it felt like she couldn't bear it any longer, the fog finally began to dissipate around her, and she was able to see properly, enough that she could see the others in the far distance.
"guys!" she called out, relief flowing through her as she quickly took flight so she could catch up to them. She was so glad to see them again! In that fog...she had never experienced such loneliness before.
However, her happiness was short lived, and she stopped rather abruptly when she saw the scene in front of her. Everyone seemed highly strung, nervous, or downright afraid, but that wasn't the worst of it. Jericho was on his knees, pale and looking almost...terrified?
It felt like the bottom of her stomach had been ripped out, and the fairy took back all the things she had said previously about the dragon. Because as much as she disliked him...To see such a strong person, whom personally she thought that no one could beat, to look so lost and defeated...It just wasn't right.
From her position she could hear Riley call out for all of them to keep moving towards the light house, for all them to keep together. She hurried along after them, but still kept her distance, not wanting to go near Jericho at the moment. She doubted she could be of any help to anyone, and she was sure her presence would just be more of a annoyance. But the fact that everyone was so scared, including him, made everything seem all the more frightening to the small fairy, and she wondered if they would ever be able to escape this place.

Sheridan had already taken several steps up the path well before Riley's demands the group move on (as if he was going to stay around here any longer than he had to). It was not until he sensed a distinct lack of others following that he'd paused to turn around, He had intended to speak, but his words were lost the moment his gaze fell on Jericho.
What the hell was going on here!? Was Jericho now being tormented as Mac had been before? From the red dragon's state and the looks of those around him, it seemed that was indeed the case.
He shook his head, a quiet sign, silently looking over the group. Was anyone still missing? No, they all seemed to be here, or at least as far as he could tell, in fact there seemed to be more of them than he remembered. All the more reason to keep moving, a larger group meant a larger target, and he wasn't so sure 'strength in numbers' truly applied here anymore.
A brow raised, gaze settled on Riley as the others finally began moving at her words. Impressive, did she truly command that much respect? Or were they all simply so desperate as to latch onto to any glimmer of reassurance?
"You don't have to do it all alone you know."
His words had been spoken to the mindflyer, his own steps moving him up the path once more. This time he wasn't stopping, not for anything. He sure as hell wasn't going to sit here any longer waiting around for whatever those creatures had in store for them.

Petro had kept silent throughout, grim-faced with worry and concern. Jericho didn't seem like the sort who fell easily in the face of adversary. Whatever it was that had happened, whatever tricks (underhanded and dirty tricks, the tikbalang was sure) that the cloaked figures had used on the dragon boil, it had to have been beyond words. He didn't know how to help, didn't know what to say or do in such a situation.
The clan would never expect him to take charge and he'd never been up against such an opponent that used attacks that was not visible to all. The barely dressed boil did not like feeling useless, nor did he like feeling helpless. He was clearly in over his head and didn't know what to do or say that could possibly be of any use.
At Riley's command, Petro felt his instincts war with himself. He followed Lizzy, the pink-haired spider demoness, not the mindflayer. But he couldn't deny the level of authority in her tone, in her voice. He'd managed to dig his feet into the ground, felt the scratch of gravel against calloused soles, long enough for him to turn towards Lizzy and see her go to Jericho's side. Was she relinquishing the role to Riley?
Guess so.
He let the others go on ahead of him, taking it upon himself to guard the rear even if he doubted his ability to actually be of any use. They kept getting dragged away without warning. Kept getting lost in this Jack-damned fog. It will occur to Petro later (much, much, much later, like back-at-the-Academy-if-they-even-survive-this later) that his actions were counterproductive and counter-intuitive to his goal of becoming a scout for his herd. But right now, he would follow and keep to the rear.
