Renka simply smiled as Ariel mused with the thought of what sharks might think at being pushed away. He decided to keep it a secret that he could sort of communicate with a number or sea creatures..mostly because he figured Ariel wouldn't ever rest if she knew dolphins and such were available on call with him.
As they reached the dock and ship Renka looked it over..it was pretty good compared to what he's seen of ships. He chuckled at what she said about waves rocking everyone to sleep.
Renka watched the people carefully, simply appearing curious... When the captain nodded in greeting he nodded as well. He smiled as Ariel introduced them and shook Cardiff's offered hand, "A pleasure to meet you both as well." he smiled, "I've heard alot about you."

Renka nodded at that, "Yeah, apparently you're quite the fun group." the question of if he could guide them to where he wanted to go got a grin. "That's a good question actually...I've never traveled or navigated by boat before." He stretched and glanced out at the water, tilting his head as he thought. "If I remember right though...it should be somewhere a bit away from a small island. That island had steep mountains all around it, sound like any place you know?" he wondered. If they didn't he'd call Landis and get his brother to guide them, it was so much easier to navigate from the sky.
As he remembered something he'd chosen to forget long ago, Renka slowly looked back at Cardiff and Shadow, "Uh..I know Ariel said you're good guys...but I have a question. Do you or anyone on the ship try to catch mer-folk to sell them?" He had to ask, if only to hear it from them...he'd get jumpy if he let that question float in his head.

"Heh. We can be. We live the life out here, the sea is our life. Every time we set sail is a new adventure awaiting out there. " He said , gesturing with a hand to the sea. Lowering his hand again to rest at the rail of the ship, Cardiff blinked, seeming somewhat surprised that he didn't exactly know just how to get there by navigation as he never did it by boat. Well, this made things more interesting, and more of a adventure on it's own just trying to find the place! "Hmm.. Steep mountains all around ...I think i've seen something like that once, Could head the way I remember and see if we are luckly enough to find it the first time if you're not short on time.." He grinned, meaning it might take a bit had it not been the right place.
Then came his sudden question he didn't expect to hear! "Mer-folk? Like, Mermaids and Mermen? Actually, No...We have a friend who we tend to help out if we find her. She's .." He glanced at him, unaware of his abilities himself, and not wanting to look insane or something for what he was going to say to him. "..A mermaid named Azura. Her friend as well. She's always off trying to protect the whales and other sea life from whalers..We've helped her many times and even when she isn't there and we find them....Well, let's just say it's not pleasant on there part. Why do you ask? "

"We're exploring for fun, time's not something we're worried about." Renka smiled, "Who knows, we might find another good place if we miss." It wouldn't be all bad if it took a bit longer to find his cave. He was hardly able to interact with too many people, let alone have fun with anyone for a long time. So far this Cardiff fellow didn't seem to bad, but he'd keep his eyes open for anything just in case.
The pirate's answer surprised him a little..he just blinked and stared for a moment, only half hearing the rest of what the pirate said. Setting that aside as to why he hadn't seen them..while the mermaids were trying to help whales he was training and exploring caves. "There's...mermaids here.. really?!" he asked before looking at Ariel, "How come you didn't tell me there were mermaids?" he shook his head and turned, hopping onto the rail, "There's others!" Apparently he didn't hear Cardiff's last question as he jumped into the water, out of view for a few moments before jumping out of the water in his real form and twisting before diving again. This time he was under longer...then he actually managed to jump over the middle of the ship..
Renka finally jumped up and held onto the wooden rail of the ship. "Alright....got that out of my system..." he sighed out with a grin.

Cardiff nodded to the boys words, grinning some. "Great, then we will be setting out now. " He turned to the others. who had just finished un hooking the knots holding the ship in place at the dock posts. Everything was set and ready to go but the ramp, but before he could tell them to raise it, they had already gotten to work while others worked on the sails.
He turned again to Renka, his sudden excitement making him chuckle. What man didn't like mermaids? He had no idea that the young teen there was actually a part of that species too. Then, as he hopped up onto the railing he wasn't sure what to think! "Hey wait! I don't think she's here right now! Unless you run into her futurestic daughters..But...!" Then he dove off the ship, disappearing under the water. "Ariel?? Is you're friend .....alright in the head?? He's going to ---" Again, his words were cut off when he saw him again, only this time in a much more diferent form.Well! That explained his sudden excitement. "This world is so full of surprises. " He chucked out, watching the water for the few moments, waiting to see if he'd resurface. Sure enough, he did and ended up jumping over the ship until he was finally there holding onto the wooden railing of the ship.
Ariel was just giggling there for a moment, he was so cute! "Sorry..I didn't want to mention her, for my own silly reasons! But yes, she's ..a nice girl, more of an activist against all those people. For that she's always being hunted down but, they always fail at catching her. It's really funny, no matter what her enemys or ShinRa does, they never manage to catch her or she just escapes. She does have two future daughters you might get along with too as he mentioned. There also mermaids. Should I mention you when or if I see them at any time? "

Renka grinned and nodded at Ariel, "Sure, I'd love to meet them! Never actually met any other mermaids or mermen before." he said, glancing at the water below and twitching his tail a bit to get some water to float up, making a bubble of water flow around his lower half so he could sort of float around on the ship like this. In his moment of excitement he forgot that it took a little time before he could retake his human disguise.
He realized he maybe shouldn't have changed..or said that...so soon, but it was done...plus there were at least three mermaids somewhere in this world! One was a mother..sometime in the future, but then two daughters. He was a bit curious why there weren't any other guys, but at least he could look forward to meeting others sometime.
After a second he looked at Cardiff again, "Guess this explains why I've never been on a ship before, huh?" he mused and chuckled.
((that made me lol..Cardiff askin if he's alright in the head.. XD ))

"Hee,hee. Sorry, I should have said something! I think they will be excited to meet you too, Azura was always lonely thinking she was the only one of her kind in this world, but she's originally from Serenity in her own Kindom, Umm..some sister kingdom to Serenity..So many places I don't remember them all anymore! " She said with a small laugh, there was also some princess elf of another location and kingdom which was Alisa. There was way to much royalty in the world of Gaia these days! At least they didn't act like it, though.
"Hmm..Want me to call them? At least I think it might work, Serenitians can hear us if we try to communicate with them by a sort of telepathy! It's really neat! Can see who shows up and we can all do our fun adventure. "
Cardiff laughed, nodding. "Yes, it does. Surprised us for one. I did not see that coming. Though it's nice, now we have another friend of the sea. Just keep you're eyes open and be extra careful.That ShinRa group has taken a strong interest in Mermaids, so i'm certain they will want you,too. If any of them mess with you, my crew and I would love to deal with them for you. " He would rather not see him get captured by those sick scientist's, sadly he had no idea who his brother was or even heard of Kai. "Heh, anyway, I'll get us moving..!" The crimson haired captain grinned as he walked off to head over to his stationed area of the ship above at the ships wheel.
About five minutes later, the ship was finally starting to move away from the docking area, and set it's course for where he believed this island to be.
(( ooc: Me too. xD And to make sure i'm picturing this right, is he hanging on the edge of the ship like that? Also, sorry for the slow response. Went to eat and got distracted watching Friends, then downloaded Opera to my dads computer and set everything up for him. It's so perfect for him, adding everything with that little favorite thing it has makes it easy for him to find his most used sites. lol ))

He chuckled at her, "Aw, come on Ariel..you're too young to be forgetting things." Renka grinned at Ariel, pulling himself over the railing..but not really 'landing' on the deck. Thanks to the small flow of water around his lower half he was floating a few inches above the deck. "Nah...one adventure at a time. If we did all the exciting things in a day there wouldn't be anything to do next time."
His gaze shifted to Cardiff, nodding and smiling at what he all said, "Hm, I'm not that worried about that group too much.. Only a few of them are able to put up a real fight." Renka watched as the crew went about to do what was needed to get moving and set his gaze on the water as they left the dock.
After a few moments of thinking he did frown a little..he was getting the feeling that Cardiff and his crew really would fight off ShinRa soldiers. Renka wasn't worried about regular troops though, those guys were ordinary humans. It was Kai and those two people he allied himself with. He didn't doubt that Kai hadn't 'upgraded' at least one of his allies by now...
Renka floated over to Cardiff, "Um..Cardiff..if you ever come across a white-haired male scientist from ShinRa just...pretend to be a bad guy..or run.. That one would kill everyone aboard if he wanted." he sighed.

Ariel giggled innocently, rubbing the back of her neck. "Yeah, one would think so huh??" At what he said next, she nodded, a good idea, specially when it came to Ariel and getting bored quickly. "..Okay.! I guess that's better with how fast I get bored! Hopefully next time more of our friends will come along. "
Cardiff listened to what Renka had to say at first, saying he wasn't very worried about them. He had to wonder why at the same time, as all he had heard about those people were just plan horror story's. After he had gone to the ships wheel and started on getting them moving for there destination, the young crimson-haired man turned to the boy as he approached. How he got around in this form was interesting to say the least! "Hmm? " The seriousness in the boys face told him maybe he should listen, so he nodded at his request. "He different from the rest? If worse comes to worse, We'll be sure to avoid him. Though, what I said still stands if he ever bothers you or Ariel. We aren't the type to leave friends behind. "

"He's from same world as me and through magic and science he's made himself nearly immortal." he stated and glanced away for a second, looking back at Cardiff and smiling again, "I get the feeling I can trust you about that..but it's mostly Ariel I'd worry about. It's hard to kill a merman in the ocean." That was true enough, with all the water around Renka would be even with Kai in a fight. It was a slim enough chance that Kai would hang out around the ocean anyway, that guy was usually indoors someplace torturing something..
Renka shook his head, "Anyway, serious stuff aside, what to people to for fun on these things? I can't really think of anything...it's so..well..dry." he glanced around, lifting his gaze to the sails and everything up there. Really..things either looked important or just not something to play with. Humans made such odd yet interesting things.

"Nearly immortal eh? Great.." He said calmly, his tone sarcastic, of course it wasn't a great thing! "Whatever he is, or his powers are, We will do everything we can to make sure that he or anyone else doesn't get near her. " He wouldn't say this in front of Ariel, but he knew she wasn't exactly a fighter or able to really defend herself. Then again, he didn't know of her little display back at Avalanche mansion that she didn't seem to know how she was able to use that little bit of power! "Doubt we will have much to worry about, I doubt they would ever bother her with all of her friends she had." He then glanced off out to sea a moment, thinking about the whalers and enemy's the mermaids seemed to have. "Just keep you're self safe, I don't exactly trust the whalers, and there harpoons.." His eye's narrowed slightly, he hated what those people did to the poor whales and dolphins with a passion!
At his question, he blinked, returning his attention to Renka again."Fun? ...Hmm....Well. I don't know that it would be something interesting to you. There are times we have celebrations and party's on the ship, though,mostly they always involve drinking..heh..! You don't drink, do you? How old are you? If you don't mind my asking. I doubt that bit matters if you're not originally from this world.." He smirked a bit. Such a good influence!

"That's good to hear." It wasn't that Renka didn't think he couldn't protect her..it was just good to know that there was others to help in case he wasn't able to. He chuckled a bit at the next part, "True.." at the mention of whalers and their harpoons he nodded, "I always keep myself safe." Granted he only knew of the harpoons from his world..humans there were prevented from advancing further then basic old-fashioned launchers or throw-able harpoons.
He listened as Cardiff spoke of occasional celebrations that involved drinking.. The few questions got him to tilt his head a bit as he thought. "Well...father only allowed wine at home and forbade us from drinking any other kind of alcohol. It can't be that different.." he muttered the last part and grinned, "How old am I? If my being a merman surprised you then this is a real shocker.... one thousand one hundred years old." he said proudly, then let his pose drop into a bit of a slouch, "Though, it seems the way this world and mine have different speeds of time...so..here I'd be maybe..twenty-two?"

Hm...many kinds? Father did kind of force what he liked on all of his 'children'...from food to clothing so it wasn't surprising that he kept different kinds of alcohol from them too. Renka tilted his head as Cardiff mentioned age again, "What would my age matter anyway?" he wondered, he'd been given wine back home as long as he could remember.. Renka simply pouted when Cardiff said they would only have something called rum later because he was unsure of how it would affect him.
"Aw, come on... you got me all curious... Just one drink?" he asked, "What else it there to do on a ship otherwise?"
((Erm..I donnno.....I forgot I'd have to make that topic for the place cause I have some nice pics..for the cave at least. I did have an amused thought of making Renka have a low tolerance for alcohol...then he kinda messes with the waves and sends them flying coincidentally to the right place in a bout of short term drunkenness. We could just skip now and have the amusing drunk Renka later.. You can pick..cause I'm distracted. XD ))
