 ++Squad 4 Guard: Lux of the White Rose++ Lux turned a brilliant shade of red at her last comment, even still memories of him sneaking into the girls barracks made him smile, those were some of his fondest memories, Mal had dared him to sneak into them, that was also the first time he'd met the subject of Mal's affection, Shalrein. Although the repercussions to come the next day were on the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of fondness of memory. he still remembered being told that even though he was the last living member of the Rose clan he didn't have an excuse to act the way he did.
Lux reached out and took her hand. he pulled himself up, surprised at how sturdy she was, not even stumbling. But that cold be expected considering the emotional barrier That Vestics tend to put up, He'd been told that Vestics were never to fall in love with any members of their squad, it was a shame of course; Lady Mayu would have made an excellent bride for some lucky man. Of course he had no such thoughts for her, she was almost like a sister to him. "Nope, we can't have that now can we." He said with a slight grin as he started in the direction of the campsite, the fire's light guiding him.

Squad 4's Vestec  Mayu tried to stifle a laugh as his face turned bright red, but ultimately failed. She had only seen him flustered so a few times before, though she never disliked it. Clearing her throat, she gave one last giggle before finally falling silent again. When he took her hand, she steadied herself and shifted her weight a bit so she wouldn't tip over. It probably helped that she was a bit taller than the average female Vestec. Her eyes followed his ascent up, glad that she didn't have to crane her neck too much at all to be able to look him in the eye. She let her hand fall from his, giggling to his words as she too turned towards camp.
They arrived rather quickly, her eyes glancing between Shalrien and Iren since they seemed to be talking which made her smile. She found a place near the fire, turning her eyes skyward to look at Mal's star again. We're ok, I promise. If there was anything that demonstrated how close they were together. How they couldn't be broken despite Deathwalkers and their dark implications.

Shalrien and Shade
Guard and unofficial guard of Squad 4
 Bending down to the gathered fire wood, Shalrien snapped her fingers, a spark suddenly flaring to life to make a small flame in the gathered tinder. She blew on the flame lightly to let it breathe and grow. Once it was large enough, she put more wood on the fire, then looked up at Iren, smiling before she pushed herself onto her feet. " There." She said with a light smile before looking up at the sky. She seemed sad now, tears rising to her eyes as she stared at the sky before she walked towards the edge of camp, Shade getting up to follow. Shalrien noticed and stopped, making the panther pause. "Shade! Stay here! I want to be alone." Shalrien growled, her voice breaking before she disappeared into the dark forest. Shade looked at everyone with a lost expression now. Shalrien and Shade were never apart, and now Shalrien didn't want the cat with her at all. Shade paced back and forth, not really knowing what she should do now before just plopping down next to the fire sadly, making a whining noise as she did so, resting her head on her paws, not understanding why she couldn't follow Shalrien.

Amaya
Squad 12's Vestec
 Squad 12 had gotten away hours ago, and it was still a few hours more before Amaya woke up. But she was n bad shape. As her eyes slowly fluttered open, Amaya was hit with an intense wave of pain, the girl crying out while she still tried to silence herself, shoving her balled fist to her mouth, biting down on her hand to try and distract herself from the pain as she held back more cries of pain. Her head felt like it was being cleaved in two with the dullest blade, her body ached from being tossed around like a rag doll, but she could easily feel the worst pain in her left shoulder. Her collar bone had been broken, and she didn't even realize until now. Amaya could barely remember what had happened, only that her friends were in danger, which led her to use the technique that almost killed her. But it seemed she had survived, though she didn't wish it at this point, as blood trickled down her wrist. She had broken the skin on her hand while biting it to keep somewhat quiet. The vestec was hurt, and there was probably internal bruising, which only made it worse for her as she tried to cope with the pain, not even sure where her squad was at the moment.

Please just wait for me,  Iren Loun 'Irene' Iren paced back and forth into the dull woods and out again collecting as much wood as needed. Once a good enough pile was made to last at least a few hours she stopped and watched Shalrien as she easily lit the fire.
Iren smiled back at her automatically as Shalrien did. But yet her face saddened quickly as she turned away. This confused Iren though she remained silent and watched as Shalrien departed leaving her and Shade alone with the horses.
Is this meant to happen? she questioned to herself in confusion. The elders haddn't told her any information about this group or there personalitys. This made her feel useless, she couldn't confort someone if she didn't understand there pains.
She frowned slightly and sat down infront of the flames near Shade who lay there silently, whimpering now and then.
Iren picked up a stick from beside her and poked the fire, moving the loggs and sticks over creating brighter flames and blacker smoke.
''I hope nothing dangerous is around here'' She said outloud turning around paranoid and staring into the pitch blackness of the night. Iren pulled her cased sword onto her knees and held it there listerning to the cracking flames and low voices of the others which were far off but she was taught to be able to hear. (( Ooc ::

Squad 4's Vestec Mayu watched as Shalrien left, feeling a pang in her heart as she thought that she saw tears. If nothing else, the fact that she left Shade behind was a further testament to something being wrong. Her expression fell as she sat down at the fire next to Shade, running a hand along his silky fur. "Shhh, it's alright. She just... needs some time alone." She whispered to him softly, falling quiet as she heard Iren, straightening up from where she was sitting.
She sighed heavily, knowing that their new Handler must be rather confused as to what was going on. "I'm sure we'll be fine. I don't sense any Deathwalkers in the area. Besides, I'm sure we'll hear them first." She managed to bring up a small smile, though it was hard for her to really feel it. Her expression soon fell once more, lowering her eyes to the fire. "Please excuse how we are all behaving Iren... We've had a bit of a difficult past few days." She began, brushing a stray hair behind her ear. "Do you know why we needed a new Handler?" She asked her softly, looking over to the girl now to observe her reaction.

Please just wait for me, Iren Loun 'Irene' Iren focused her attention on Mayu as she sat down and soothed Shade.
She half smiled at Mayu smile yet it was clearly forsed. Iren lowered her head as Mayu spoke again, Iren knew something bad had happened since it was clear yet she didn't know the situation and had been some-what afraid to ask as not to cause offence or pain to them.
"I wasn't told" she said her voice slightly crocky from its lack of use this day. Iren looked up slightly avoiding Mayu's face not interly sure Mayu was wanting to inform her of then events. (( Ooc ::

Squad 4's Vestec It was clear that Iren wasn't quite comfortable so Mayu instead looked up to the stars. After all, the last thing she wanted to do was make things awkward amidst the team. She closed her eyes at her response and smirked, yet there was a sadness to it. "I see. I'm not surprised." She took a moment to gather her thoughts, a hand continuing to pet the large panther for it was a soothing motion.
"Our previous Handler, Mal, was killed in the line of duty. The town we went to last was overrun and we weren't ready for it. Our info wasn't enough. He sacrificed himself to make sure we got away. Lux was his best friend, he was like my brother, and Shalrien..." She paused and glanced in the direction of her friend, her lips tightening a little before she looked at the fire. "Lux told us afterwards that Mal apparently loved her. So we are still dealing with his loss. So again, I apologize if our behavior is a little odd. I wish you could have joined us under better circumstances." She finished, looking to Iren with a small smile.

Please just wait for me, Iren Loun 'Irene' Iren looked away from Mayu as she explained, telling her this was obiously hard on her since she knew loss of someone close was probably the hardest thing to live through.
Iren felt hurt just hearing about it, she'd heard many storys about deaths from deathwalkers yet this time it was more personal as she was now filling the space that he would have.
Iren remained silent, there was nothing she really could say. The phrase 'I'm sorry for your loss' never cuts it, if anything its an insult.
Instead she contiued to stare at the flames alkwardly biting onto the inside of her mouth, tasting the bitter metalic taste after awile. (( Ooc ::

Squad 4's Vestec Mayu felt the awkward silence as pungently as Iren, seeing her expression before she looked to the fire. "I'm sorry, now I've gone and made things awkward. Please, tell me a little about your life with the Silver Guard. Or if you'd rather not divulge such information, it's fine. I completely understand." She asked, trying to shift the conversation to a lighter topic if possible.
The night was calm and clear, the moon shinning down brightly from above. It would be on a night like this that her people would gather about a fire and tell stories and have fun. It was difficult for her to judge how to bring that about and well... she realized it may not be appropriate in the least at this point in time.

Please just wait for me, Iren Loun 'Irene' Iren attempted a half smile, she didn't want to upset Mayu anymore than she already was.
Mayus attempt at changing the subject was a good idea though Irens life wasn't really the most intresting thing they could talk about.
"No, i don't mind" she said smiling to Mayu again, "Well, i was born there though my blood relations are apparently from the moon tribe, yet i know none of there ways or traditions" she said feeling at a loss of her culture yet by staying with the Silver Guard she gained something new.
"I was attually born a twin, though he was given a Vestec years before i was assigned to your group" she smiled, though she realised she haddn't thought about her brother in awile. Knowing him, he'd be fine.
Iren thought about asking Mayu about her life but then it didn't seem the cleverest idea at this delicate moment in time. (( Ooc ::

Squad 4's Vestec Mayu breathed a sigh of relief in her head, glad that she hadn't tread on any landmines by accident. Some people didn't want to talk about their lives and that was perfectly ok. It'd be strange if one knew every little thing about a person. Her eyebrows rose as she wondered about this moon tribe, tilting her head a bit. Her expression relaxed a bit at the mention of her sibling, looking up to the sky now once more.
"It's alright if you don't. My peoples culture is steadily declining though we do our best to keep it alive. Some know little because they get sent away young." She murmured, picking out a few constellations. "I had a brother as well. He left a few years back. I hope your brother is doing well." She smiled, purposefully not thinking about her own family. It was best not to hope and end up pleasantly surprised to find yourself wrong. Still... part of her wanted to hope that they were fine.

Please just wait for me, Iren Loun 'Irene' Iren smiled as Mayu relaxed after she finished speaking. It was going to be hard adjusting into her new group. Iren felt slightly as though she would be compared to Mal in a sense of when she goes wrong.
She knew she'd have to watch herself as to not endanger any of them at any point through her lack of experience.
I wish i was taught my culture. Apparently we had traditions of 'moon dancing' which is excally as it sounds" she said lighterning the mood slightly. "I hope the same for your family" she said meaning every word as she turned to Mayu and smiled to her, in an attempt to cheer her up for now since dwelling on the past was never taught as a good thing. Squad 4's Vestec Brushing a few more strands of her hair back, she removed her new clip, steadily letting her tresses fall loose. Shaking her head, she let her hair flow free, only using her new autumn themed pin to keep her hair behind one ear. She smiled sadly, also mourning the loss of such things. "It sounds lovely. I wouldn't mourn the fact you don't contain the knowledge too much though. At least you know that you were a part of them. Some never know any part of their heritage at all." She pointed out, and it was true. A sad truth, but there it was.
She bowed her head in thanks, "Thank you." She started to scratch behind Shade's ears, knowing he usually seemed to like that, but who knows if it would help at all. "Ah well... I have my team as my family now. And that is enough for me." She smiled brightly, Iren's own smile a comfort. Yes... right now, it was all she needed.
