He laughed at LW's comment, grinning as he replied, "Well, in that case, I would like you to put a stop to Callix's chocolate. Just use it as a reward instead... At least, until it learns to not 'attack' every well-equipped ghoul it sees. I guess if the other party don't mind, let Callix go at it? However, no random, sudden beast tackles! Every time it controls itself in front of a ghoul, give it a small piece of chocolate. Make it a larger piece for every day it behaves itself - after a month or so, slowly replace the chocolate rewards with lots of praise and... Cuddles? Be sure to specify why its being rewarded or praised though! Or at least, make sure that the reward or praise is given directly after it showed good behavior to reinforce it!"

Tess' words seemed to cause Malcolm to pause as he raised an eye brow before frowning, "... A belt? Slipper?" Another pause followed, his expression clearly showing that he was concerned, "I do not hit my Minipets if it causes them pain or discomfort, Tess. The Whip is made of a special material - something solid like a slipper or belt will hurt them. Some Minipets will become violent if you are violent towards it... Why don't you tell me the problem with your Minipet?"

Vlad saw the Whip whizzing towards Malcolm, took that as an attack (or a game), and jumped up from his place beside his owner. A soft growl escaped him as he ran forward with a bark, grabbing the handle of the Whip in between its teeth just before it hit the floor. A muffled bark followed as it held the object, turning to face the Professor.

"Vlad... Ren was not trying to hit me with that..." He sighed with a smile, rather happy that his Minipet cared that much for him. Gesturing at the boil, he waved his hand to make a gesture that probably meant 'return object', "Ren, hold onto that for a while, will you? Vlad will collect it later... You don't have to use it if you don't want to. As for your Minipet's attitude problem, you might want to try bartering with it... It doesn't seem like it wants to submit to you."

In agreement, the invisible dog let out another muffled bark before making its way to the gryphon boil, laying down the whip by his feet. Dipping its head briefly, Vlad's tail started wagging as it made its way back (not that anyone could see him do that).

"Right... Now back to the questions," He mumbled to himself, turning to face Amrita. While he did pity the ghoul, he couldn't help but chuckle, "Its attached to you! Like a duckling follow its mother upon imprinting... Fire Beast or not, I think DC is willing to lay down its life to save you, Amrita." He then paused for a second, looking rather thoughtful, "Have you even given it any physical affection?"

The chasing and attempted preying seems like what a puppy might do - for now, his main concern was the Death Charm's owner. She seemed too afraid of her own Minipet to discipline it properly.

Ithilethiel wasn't too sure what she should do. She turned the whip over in her hand. Her eye caught on the hellhunter at her feet that seemed to be staring up at her. He didn't seem to have too much energy. He seemed relatively calm right now. He was just disobedient.

She didn't want to use the whip for no reason, and if he didn't need to lose some energy, she didn't feel like the whip would help at all. So she decided to do a test. She looked Dorbax in the eyes as he stared back at her. She wondered how long he could sit still. Then suddenly he leaped up, attempting to bit her nose. She moved back so he couldn't reach her, but he continued to jump around making small snarling noises. Usually the creature wouldn't be able to do any damage being down on the floor away from Ithi's exposed skin. However, he soon noticed her lack of shoes.

As quick as lightening, Dorbax chomped on Ithi's foot before she could pull her feet up. Ithi let out a short shriek as she flung the whip at the hellhunter.

The next instant he was laying on the floor, seeming to be asleep. Ithi stared at him then glanced around the room hoping no one had seen that ordeal.

LW nodded as she listened to the Professors instructions before giving him a smile. "I can do that, sir. I think that will be much more effective too." She shifted the batling in her arms a little and slowly pet his head to keep him from freaking out as more whips were seen. "Thank you, Professor. And yes," now she really grinned. "Cuddles too for praise." Nodding her head again, LW retreated from in front of the Professor to go take her seat next to Gabrian again.

She turned to the Nix and gave him a smile, about to say something when she saw Ren decide to toss the whip back. And then the floating harness that was Vlad leaped up and caught it, a growl and some muffled barks coming from him. The she-wolf giggled at her gryphon friend and couldn't help but laugh when she saw Rhys studiously ignoring him. The she-wolf shook her head and stuck her tongue out at the gryphon and waved a little at Rhys. He was definitely worse then her terrors. Poor Ren.

The Vetala, after her little rant about how terribly horrible Death Charm really was, returned to staring at the Professor in a blank manner. Give it...physical affection? Was Professor Malcolm serious?! Now she didn't make a habit of talking back to a teacher, but in this case, she couldn't help but be a little snarky with her tone.

"It's a fire beast." She repeated, once more stressing the 'fire' bit. Yet again there was a reason she was hiding behind the shoe rack and sitting beside a boil that was as cold as her room.

Sin was a bit startled by the appearance of the whip and a slow frown crossed her features. Except the professor was explaining that the whip didn't cause pain but things like mild amnesia and drowsiness were worrying too. She slowly took a whip in hand and then looked at Pantaloons.

Pantaloons eyed the whip with curiosity for a moment before loosing interest, it was not an undergarment so it didn't really care. Instead it moved to cuddle up against Sin and started to tug at the shoulder of her dress, no doubt to get to her bra strap.

Sin meanwhile was suffering a major pang of guilt, she just couldn't do it, she couldn't take a whip to Pantaloons no matter how many times his thieving ways had frustrated her. After all the poor little thing wasn't HURTING anyone, it wasn't like he bit or scratched or anything. She slowly stroked her pet and then walked up to the professor.

"Professor Malcolm? I'm not sure if now is the time to use this on Pantaloons, I mean it could be very useful for when he actually goes after someone...err to steal their...underthings. That's his problem you see, he loves to snatch for underwear, he took a pair right off of some poor ghoul the last time he got out. It's just...well right now he isn't really doing anything wrong and it would feel wrong to just...hit him with it for no reason?"

Well now she officially sounded like a push over, hopefully the professor would understand though. She loved her babies, it was hard to think of striking them even with the assurance it wouldn't hurt. Besides if they didn't even remember it then how would they ever learn?

Utter distress was a go.

Despite the fact that the teacher had practically -assured- that the whip wouldn't cause harm, there was just something to the Kitsune that just couldn't handle the physical shape of what she was looking at. Part of it was the fact that she herself would roam freely with four legs in her natural shape, but the other part of it was just that..
....

She couldn't do it. It was entirely the fact that as an animal herself, she couldn't bring herself to use something so...so... Barbaric on Desades. Desades was oblivious to the matter as well, reaching out with it's co-conspirator from it's hiding-place to slap it's paw onto Mononoke's back, causing the black Bakekitsune to jump and look back behind it at the large pair of eyes that that looked at it so innocently.

Monoke just swatted the playful idiot before sitting next to Sune, who just made pretty faces.

Awrrrr....

"Is there an alternative to using the whip? j-Just...something that...looks different?" Tomoko asked, ready to just rub the ball-of-stars she cradled until it wore down like a jawbreaker.

Malodore gave the Professor a polite half-bow. "Grazie mille, Professor - I believe I will be needing it." It glanced down at the limp Scrags. Honestly, this wasn't a long-term behavior corrective... but it would help in times of chaos and crisis. At least a little bit.

Colette started to calm down as she listened to Professor Malcom speak. Yes, that's what classes were for. She was supposed to learn things. No one took a class on something they already knew how to do. Or at least they weren't supposed to, she figured. Colette decided they would just have to try much harder.

Nodding, she replied to Professor Malcom, "Alright.. so Dasher's just really different.." As he began interacting with Dasher, Colette watched silently in anticipation of what the Reindeer would do.

Thankfully, he didn't do anything awful, and Dasher actually relinquished the carpet quite easily. His mouth hung open in woe, concerned with what he would occupy himself with now. Figuring it was being taken away because he was becoming invisible, Dasher returned to his normal state and looked at Professor Malcom. He was still there, see! No one needed to take his stuff away. He wasn't disappearing.

Though, when Malcom brought out a packet of strange yet delicious smelling items, Dasher's interests changed very quickly. It was put in his face, right in front of his glowing red nose, obviously he could have it! That was the Reindeer's thinking anyway, and he strained his neck and tongue to gobble it up.

So there was something safe that the reindeer would like. Obviously he was supposed to eat it too, if the professor gave it to him. She was supposed to train him with a treat.. where could she get those? Or maybe grass would work the same. Colette stroked Dasher as he enjoyed the candy, looking back at Professor Malcom. "What are those? And uh.. where could I get them? I don't know what to train Dasher with.. Or would grass work the same?" she asked . She was going to get this right.

Gabrian had lifted up a hand in order to steady the Floresce on his head; the creature had settled himself between the 3 pair of horns the demon possessed, and only opened a large, blue eye to watch the invisible dog's performance. His eyes trailed after the whips and for a moment, it looked like it might bolt from where it'd been resting, but it seemed to think twice about it and merely tensed, eyes narrowing as it waited.

As Professor Malcom explained their task and the invisible dog brought up the whip for the nix to take, Gabrian hesitated only a moment before reaching out to take it. Arching a brow, he twisted the thing left and right, examining it before he made a small noise, clicking his tongue over his teeth. The sound seemed to alert the Floresce, because it lifted it's head from it's perch and then slowly... ever so slowly, slithered down the demon's arm, coming up to his hands in order to sniff at the whip, "What do you think, boy?" the snort the floresce released was a rather amusing answer, but Gabrian persisted, "Let's play a game, how about it?" his pet's eyes narrowed at the word 'play', but it was uncertain if this was a good sign or a bad sign.

Regardless of his pet's reaction, the demon lifted the whip and dangled it in front of him, snapping it slightly, "It's like what I do with my tail, Davy. Think you can grab it?" the floresce eyed the whip thing as it snapped again, and then after a beat, it seemed to take the bait, because it opened it's mouth and attempted to grab the end of the whip, "Not good enough, Davy. You're never going to catch it like that," came the drawled response as the demon moved the whip just slightly out of the floresce's reach. Then, snapped it again, this time a bit more softly, and the floresce once more launched himself for it.

The moment the whip's end touched the Floresce's mouth, it's eyes hooded, and then, the creature flopped on the ground, looking dazed, "Good boy..." Gabrian reached out and grabbed his pet, stroking the Floresce behind it's head... wing fins. He wasn't sure if making a game out of it was allowed, but it was honestly the only way he could do this, "Actually, I think he'd settle down and would stop being such a pain if I could find him a decent mate," this was directed at Professor Malcom.

Rain picked up the whip that the dog had dropped at her feet, staring at it curiously. Spotting it, the Witch turned and climbed up Rain's legs, hugging her at the stomach as best she could. She began sobbing frantically and the zombie knew then that she could not use the training tool on her beloved pet. Even with the promise of no pain, Witch was terrified and that was no way to treat her pet. Witch was more than a pet, she was a friend and she deserved some respect jackdammit! She didn't deserve to be punished. It wasn't like she harmed another creature or person. So what if she didn't want to sit down? If she wasn't meant to think for herself, she wouldn't be capable of making decisions, right?

Sighing, she picked Witch up and brought her to her face so that she could kiss her forehead. "I don't want to use this and I won't as long as you behave, okay. We have to pass this class, okay?," Rain whispered to her the tiny creature. The miniature ghoul bobbed her head up and down in agreement, her way of saying she understood. She then turned and jumped down to the floor. She glared at the professor briefly before sitting down in front of her mistress.

So both Rain and Witch sat and the whip unused. Both with their arms crossed and a sour expression on their face. This class would surely test their friendship but the zombie knew in her heart that she would rather fail a class than even risk hurting Witch. Surely her mom and dad would understand if such came to be the case.

"Its a fire beast that loves you," Malcolm replied Amrita firmly, like it would make a difference to the Undead ghoul. While it actually took him a while to get the 'fear of fire' part, his heart still went out for the Death Charm. He sighed, "Alright, alright... I'll loan you the whip - every time before you leave your room, instead of running away from it, use it as a toy by dangling it and allowing DC to swipe at it. It'll become drowsy but it will not be knocked out - then, I'll need you to go down to its eye level, say 'stay' and then praise it. Do this until it gets it... If DC still don't understand at the end of the month, I'll make a trip down to your Dorms myself to help, if that's fine with you?"

Turning to Sin, he stared at Pantaloons for a second before nodding, "Well, it is an Unmentionable... So you wish to stop its... Snatching, right? Because its perfectly normal for an Unmentionable to go after... Well, unmentionables! You are right though - this is not the time to use the whip... In your case, use it if he goes after someone, even if its just to stop it." The Professor then paused, nodding slowly.

"Right... So, does it have a fondness for any particular sort of unmentionables?" He wondered how he sounded saying the word 'unmentionable' so many times in a roll...

"I'm afraid I'm on a tight budget, or I would get the better alternative... Whistles." He smiled apologetically at Tomoko, "Again, its fine if you do not use it - just tell me what you wish to train out of your Minipet... Er, Minipets and I'll try to help?" He eyed the three Minipets around the ghoul's feet.

His attention was quickly back on Colette's Dasher as it let go of the carpet. Immediately, Malcolm allowed the green colored candy to be taken before breaking into a smile, patting the Reigndeer on its head as he lowered himself to the Minipet's eye level. Holding up the piece of chewed-up carpet, Malcolm shook his head and firmly said "Carpet, no." Holding up another green Fear candy, he smiled and offered it again to Dasher, "This is for letting go of the carpet... Good job."

To Colette, he shook his head, holding out a small packet of green Fear candy, making sure that the packet was out of reach (and sight, for that matter) of Dasher, "A reward treat should be something special. Grass can be found everywhere... I'll give you this, but if possible, try to find out what it really likes, or it'll get tired of the treat." Chuckling lightly, Malcolm continued, "However, if it does respond well to these, I'll give you the basic recipe."

Of course, he heard what Gabrian said and couldn't resist laughing; he never had to be a Minipet matchmaker before, but this was too interesting a case to pass up, "A mate? Well, what's its type? Or does it already have someone in mind...?" The Professor was grinning - luckily, he wasn't creepy like Hellma.

"How...I can't believe she let you do that," Alessa said, looking rather dumbfounded that Ren had managed to touch Sheelah at all, even if it was only for a moment. Sheelah had glowered at him, even showed a tooth, but otherwise had left him be. If he had done it a bit longer that might have been different, but Sheelah seemed more intent on sticking it to Alessa than anything else.

When the whip demonstration began Alessa immediately felt herself tense. She couldn't help it. Having an animal form herself, she couldn't help but be extremely disturbed by the display. What next? Whip your boilfriend into shape? Your kid? It didn't seem right. She wouldn't want to be at the end of that thing, so she doubted any of the minipets did either...and she didn't find that fair. Maybe she was just a bit too close to Sheelah, since her other form was so close to the lepuses, but still, it made her uncomfortable, even visibly shiver a few times.

When she got her whip she stared at it, the tightness of her lips showing her obvious distaste for the thing. She was so caught up in it that she didn't notice Sheelah watching her with a vague curiosity. When she seemed to come to her senses she put the thing down as fast as she could, not wanting to touch it anymore. Sheelah wrinkled her nose in distaste and proceeded, then, to ignore her mistress.

"I'm sorry, Professor, but I...I just don't think I can," Alessa murmured, embarrassed, but set in her decision. She looked a little relieved when she watched Ren reject the whip, as well as some of the other students. She wasn't the only one, it seemed.

She passed Gabe a brief, exasperated look. "Gabe, what's the point of tricking Davy into getting himself knocked out? It's not very nice...nor is it teaching him anything." She sighed, giving the Floresce a sympathetic look. Sheelah rolled her eyes at Davy, apparently unimpressed with his act of stupidity.

"Yes of course I know it's it's natural behavior, the whip would probably be useful to have around when I take them out incase they go after someone. It's just when they aren't being little thieves their actually quite sweet, but they have a fondness for...ghouls panties. Professor it's gotten so bad that I have to go to the Maul almost every other day just to replace my underthings. I don't know what their doing with them either but I never find them! Just the other day Pantaloons got out and went right up this poor ghouls skirt and yanked off her underwear. I love him but I just can't let him go around terrorizing the unsuspecting!" Sin sighed and cocked her hip feeling at quite a loss about what to do. She had traded her unmentionables to her pets several times just to get them to behave. Was it her own fault for encouraging their behavior?

Aedan blinked, accepting a whip gingerly. Looking at the whip in his hand for a moment, then to his still-napping scruffle, then back to the whip once again, Aedan shrugged. He was hopeful that he'd master this course--unlike a number of other things that he seemed unable to control currently, perhaps he could at least learn to control Crystalis?

Getting to his feet, he bent to pick Tal up, ignoring the rather grumpy-sounding grunt that the action prompted, and made his way towards the professor. "Professor Malcolm, while I'm the first to admit that Tal here, doesn't listen to me--it's not because of excess energy...so while the whip seems like a potentially-useful device, I don't necessarily see how it's going to help me with him..." He trailed off for a moment, before continuing.

"You see, it's not so much that he runs around causing chaos, so much as he just refuses to listen to me unless he decides on his own that it's a good idea at the time..."

In a way, Merope was in the same boat as a good portion of the other students: he wasn't using his whip, or looked like he would. He looked at his napping follyjox and the whip and back again. The whip was supposed to steal energy, right? It didn't look to him that Seacrest needed discipline or anything. In fact... Merope sighed. He brought the wrong minipet to class. Seacrest didn't need the training. He could think of another one that could use it, though...

Merope looked at the fire over the shoerack, then looked to where the professor was. Slowly, cautiously the boil slunk around his barricade to Professor Malcom's side. "Um, professor? I... I have a minipet that could really, really use the training more than Seacrest. But... um. I don't think I have time to go back to my dorm to get it instead of the one I have with me. Do you have after office hours I can come at...? I won't move your shoerack, promise."
