To and back? Barth looked very put-upon, but straightened again.
His horns did not cooperate very well with sharing head-space, and the book + perfume had to be rearranged precariously.
After another slow and unnecessarily long walk, and in spite of the wobbly book placement, Barth made it through the first time without any major spills. Not the pinnacle of poise, gravity seemed to be taking a toll the longer he walked, but he managed to do calculatingly well enough not to do more walking. How many lessons were there? He wouldn't have signed up if he'd thought it was a walking class.
It could be worse, he supposed.
It could be running.

Things didn't go very well the second time around either. Holly tried to keep up the concentration she needed on herself and on the infernal balancing.
She had gotten further than the last time when the stuff fell for a second time. This time soaking her fox pajamas with all the perfume. She would have cursed but she decided not to since the teacher would probably scold her.

((FAIL 1))
Well, he had asked for something more challenging, and while it wasn't darts and being blindfolded, it was a new obstacle. Walking a line had been a breeze, so when it came time to do it again, with balance, he felt it was no problem. Waiting to take his turn, he watched as a lot more people failed and failed, and continued to topple the book and box and bottles, making the large room heavy with the smell of pumpkin spice. While it wasn't the worst smell in the world, it wasn't pleasant to think of being soaked in it. He pitied himself and the others with sensitive noses. By the time he went up, the smell was already overwhelming and the ground was slicker with droplets of perfume.
Taking box and book, he slowly set them on his head, taking a moment to find the perfect place to balance them. His ears made it awkward and were pressed flat out on each sides, and he looked up before, being sure he had them set juuusssttt right, he started to move – and slowly.
Horses and kelpies were not known for smooth rides. They bounced when they moved. They had a bounce in their step as they moved, and Calder was finding it hard to overcome that. His eyes were up, and his hooves went up slowly, moving out, and tapped back down. Then his next hoof, and then the other. When he felt he might be losing it, he decided he might just rush and hope everyone stayed on in time for him to pass. Not the best plan.
Two steps in and the entire thing bounced on his head, slipped over and splashed on him, coating his thick hair in a layer of pungent perfume. It was also not a good idea that Calder had been looking up, and he was blinded as the perfume got in his eyes. "AH! It's stinggggssss!" He cried out, rubbing his eyes as his ears and hair dripped into his clothes.
With blurry vision, he picked the box, vials, and book up and went back in line, eyes weeping as he tried to muster up another attempt. Ugh.

Jack. That. Was. It. Holly wrung out her tail on her pajamas. She disliked getting them covered in that disgusting perfume stuff. Now she was going to smell like that for a while! At least certain people might not want to steal them because of that. The ghoul adjusted herself and placed the few items nicely on her head at the start of the line.
Slow and steady. That is what she decided. Perhaps she went to fast the last time? That was it of course. Holly made sure to stand as straight as she could and walked nice and slow. Well, not as slow as the sloth demon kid, man he took forever.
Finally, she got to the end, turned around and made her way back up the line. She kept slow which seemed to be the trick. One foot in front of the other. That's the trick. And done! She took the books and box from her head neatly, being sure not to spill any.

It was his chance again, his turn, and another time he could wind up drenched. He already reached and his eyes were now red from the perfume in them. Sniffling, he reached out for a new, filled, box and book, and looked at both with the look of someone who felt that this would really suck if it splashed on him again. UGH! He wanted to jump in the river than ever. Couldn't they go back to just walking? He was okay with that. It was dry. For once, he didn't want to be wet.
Sighing, he set both on his head and waited a moment, arranging his ears and trying to make super sure that this time things were less likely to fall – not that he felt the box and book arrangement was any more different than before.
Setting out, he walked S-L-O-W-L-Y, doing an old man shuffle as he took small step after hesitant step. All the while, he kept thinking, Please stay on. Please stay on. Please stay on. A few times he stopped as the bottles shifted their weight, and a few drops threatened him as they dropped on his cheek and shoulder. Every drop reminded him of the threat of having a second layer of stink on him, and he held his breath and continued when he felt he was able.
After a slow turn that took a lot of thought, he made his way back, and only stopped when he felt the book was sure to slid off his head. It didn't. Thank the lagoons for that! When at last he arrived back, he took the box off and then was about to take the book off when he noticed there was some resistance. Let go. He huffed, and pried the book off, noticing for a moment that it almost felt like the book had stuck.
OOhhhhhh. Uh. Best not mention that to the teacher. He didn't want to take this stupid test again.

It was taking a fair amount of willpower for Jericho to not start spewing flames all around out of anger. He had no idea how flammable the perfume was and he wasn't really wanting to risk become a walking torch because he couldn't control his temper enough. That small bit of sensibility that remained in him at the moment likely saved the other students a fair amount of grief as well.
Instead, he found himself pacing back and forth to try and burn away his frustration with what he thought was a rather stupid and pointless task. What the Jack did posture and balance have anything to do with being 'civil' anyway?
A few of the other students seemed to be doing alright, but he certainly wasn't the only one to be suffering the perfume shower. Staring down at the next box, the red dragon waited a little longer before snatching it up. He gave the book and box a quick examination before wedging them both between his horns to the best of his ability. It took a bit of effort, but eventually he felt like he had it down.
Grumbling various things under his breath, he walked down the line rather briskly this time around. He was almost storming his way through, but he couldn't quite do that. Even with the wedging, he still had to walk somewhat carefully to not send the objects flying off of his head.

[[ Have been OK'ed by Yinesa to continue~ <3 ]]
Ren had, in fact, fallen asleep, just as the teacher had suspected. He was rather rudely awakened by someone stepping on his foot as they walked by.
"Ouch!"
Whoever it was (Ren did not see, exactly) had probably done him a favor. He had missed the first half of the lesson and was now completely confused as to what in Jack's name was going on.
"Uhhh..."
Luckily for him, the teacher was explaining the second half of their assignment. Ren glanced towards LW and Natalia, both of whom were standing off to the side, a pained expression on his face - he did not want to get up.
However, with a groan and a sigh, stifling a yawn, Ren dragged himself to his feet and picked up the materials.
Well, here goes nothing...
He almost fell on his face. Almost.
However, once he managed to wobble his way to the end of the line - successfully - Ren let out a sigh of relief, turning to give a sweeping, exaggerated bow to his two friends, blowing both of them a kiss - after taking the stuff off of his head, of course - and then slouching back to his seat to see if he could nap again.

Balance?
She was doomed.
Doomed.
This class was going to be the end of her. It was trying to be the end of her. Why did she think this was a good idea again? It was seriously time to reconsider this entire class. She didn't want to make a fool of herself any more than she already had! Pouting unhappily she took her place for her turn, balancing the book and the box on her head. The inside of her poor lip was heavily chewed on as she started to walk the line, pausing once or twice as her feet attempted to end her.
Luckily, she stayed standing; just a few drops of the perfume landing on her. Holding her breath she turned shakily, getting another drop or two on her in the process, and slowly made it back.
Wait.
She made it back.
She made it back!
The book and box was taken off of her head, and she turned a very proud beam, looking around for any nearby friends that she could gush to. Sadly, it only seemed to be a red dragon boil, Jericho, and she couldn't help but grin up at him. "I...I did it!"

The water djinn didn't so much as bat an eye at new assignment, and instead rose from her seat to take her place in line. While she waited, she did enjoy the show the others were currently putting on. Some making it down the line with little to no trouble, while others passed by smelling strongly of sweet pumpkin perfume. It was actually quite pretty.
When Yaya's turn came about she didn't even hesitate. Instead placing the items atop her head, lowering her arms to her sides, and striding forward with just as much poise and grace as she'd done the first time. By the way she moved about with the items balanced carefully on her head, it was very evident that this was not the first time she'd ever attempted it.
Turning at the end, the ghoul traced her steps with ease and upon reaching the end pulled the book and box from her head to set them on the table.

When the teacher addressed him personally, Christof's stitched face flushed scarlet. Positively trembling in embarrassment, his fists clenched on the table. Aching back or not, he was NOT going to sit out because of some... some... handicap! He'd show her, he'd show all of them! Nostril's flaring, he gave the professor a polite bow of his head before snatching up a book and box himself and taking his mark.
He swallowed deeply, straightening up as much as he could, although by the screams in his back he couldn't quite get as straight as before. Just... just try he hissed to himself. One foot in front of the other. Straighter, like the others! C'mon, you can do it! Finally, an electric pain went down his back and he collapsed with a yelp in the back of his throat, book and box toppling down on top of him with a crash. The stink of perfume soaked through his newly tailored jacket down to his skin, but the cool liquid did little for the blinding pain.
But he was not about to stop. Spines could be replaced.

Choosing to ignore the look shot at her by the red dragon boil (ultimately, no one was forcing him to continue on with the class, though he was clearly in desperate need of patience), Winter watched as a handful of students were actually completing the task on their first attempts. Whether or not the students believed that this was a necessary continuation of the first part, it was a good way to correlate the need for poise and grace. Balance in and of itself was useful in any and all situations. It was an area that some still needed to work on, which was fine. This was a class meant for continued learning.
Though after the posture lesson concluded, there would (to many students delight) be no more walking. At least for quite some time. The professor's lips had parted to speak to Holly, when something caught her attention. The latch to the taller dracolich's bag came flopping open, and the bag seemed to sink in. Winter's brow furrowed before she suddenly heard a "yip" sound, and the patter of small .... paws on the ground.
"... Oh dear... " the demoness shot a look towards Aymet that would have likely killed him had he not already met that fate some time prior this dilemma.
"Students, I do hate to interrupt our lesson here, but it would appear that we are going to have to pause this les-" her words were cut off as text books started flying across the room, pages being torn. A happy yipping and barking noise could be heard.
"Look out!"
===
(( THANKS TO AYMET : You now have a ghost dog loose in the classroom. He's pretty friendly! And loves to play! Unfortunately he seems to love your text books too. The rest of the posture rolls are on hold, until that dog can be caught! While this may be a welcome disruption to some of you, your own items are surely at risk, and you likely don't want to take a text book to the head either.
Roll a d100. If your number matches the one rolled in this post : You somehow manage to catch the ghost dog. Winning major points in class with Ms. Winter. If you roll above the number, you get a text book flying at your head (if it's EVEN it hits you, if it's ODD, you manage to duck), if you roll below, you simply cannot seem to figure out where that dog is!
Feel free to roll as often as you like
GOOD LUCK STUDENTS!
PS: If you happen to roll for the main part of the class before seeing this post, feel free to count it as occurring before this. Thanks!))

Suddenly there was an explosion of paper, overturned desks, and flying textbooks.
Luckily, Barth had finished with being poised, and managed to slump back over again just in time for a heavy book to launch dangerously through where his face had just been. It almost proved his point, really. Looking proud, strong, graceful, and intimidating was good for people that...were those things.
As for the rest, a good slouch was an important survival tactic.

Sprawled on the ground, the hunchback had just managed to gather himself up, limbs shaking as he his back screamed to stay down, but determination to finish powered him forward. He had just managed to get a foot under him when suddenly something large, thick and heavy collided with his face, and he was sent clamoring backwards, stars filling his vision as the tile floor hit his back.
Well.
At least he was sort of straight now.

Her gushing to poor Jericho was cut short when the Prof announced that lessons had to be cut short...and within moments there were noises and things flying and the room moved into utter chaos. Amrita just stared, managing to stay out of the way of flying things...but she couldn't even pinpoint where the thing even was!
Weird.
