XXXXX✝✝✝Iz𝖛𝖆l ℙℜℴsℙℇℜℴ ✝✝✝
For how long he did not know, had Izual found himself lost in some dense, dark, dank caves, outside of the main city. he'd found himself traveling, as usual, the scavenger he was. He had no choice to change his location frequently, and see if he could make it better in the next city he came to. He'd immediately taken to hiding from the daytime sun in this foreboding cave, and for the purpose he'd intended, it served him well. Though he'd taken quite some time finding his way back out of the place.
It was some time later that he walked out of the place, and again began his travels. He came into the city, though how he'd gotten past it's security, and tall gates, he did not know. He'd call it a stroke of luck, if he was asked to explain the ease with which he wandered in. He peered around the place curiously. To him, this was just another place to scavenge, and try to make a decent living doing so, and he'd move on later. Of course, he did not know the stories of this place, he didn't even know the name of the city he now stood in.

I never, never wanted this. I always wanted to believe. Never Never wanted this. From the start I'd been deceived.

"Shinobi" XXX XXX XXX XXX静かな戦士"the Silent Warrior" Narinthe stirred within the bed of his room within the military barracks. The blankets had been placed over his entire figure, only his outline would have been visible incase someone had gotten in. His scarf was off of his face, resting by the rest of his belongings, the looser fitting red mask still over his face. But his second eye was no long covered by anything, as there was no one in this room to accidentally mentally probe.. The Shinobi's eyes fluttered open slowly, groggily. The glow emitted form them as they revealed themselves to the dark underneath the blankets, one a deep red, another a faint white, nearing a blue hue. This was the first good night's rest he'd attained, in a very long time. He sat up as he thrust the blankets off of himself, blinking the sleep away, his jinxed eye finally getting freedom. His head tilted to the clock upon the wall, it's large wooden frame telling him it was an hour from the meeting. Slowly, he stood from the bed, and stretched his large figure out. After doing so, he looked down to his armor and black clothing. He was wearing his usual pants and long-sleeved, tight fitting undershirt. He stooped down to grasp at his gloves, to see his bare hand. It's skin was paler than what he'd chosen to expose of his face, from the lack of light. Each fingertip was accented with a small, yet dagger-like demonic claw. A small scar ran up one of his hands, from an incident from when he was a young child. He furrowed his brow at the sight of his skin, swiftly slipping his clothing on. After he'd tied the scarf over his undermask and his eye, he hid his weapons on his person, and quickly headed out of the room. Silent, he travelled down the stairs and our of the barracks into the dark city of Tenepolis. His eye glowed dully even still, searching for Salnesh. Yet, as he grew nearer to the place they were told to meet, he was only met by the sight of the man they'd watched a few hours ago. His face was emotionless, as if an extension of the tightly woven clothen mask. His steps were silent as he hesitantly walked toward the tower, and thus, Harkel. The man was leaning on his wooden staff, a look of irritated impatience flaring off of his face. He reached Harkel, bowing deeply from a small distance, his eye sliding shut, it's glow ceasing only then, before he stood rigid and upright, his eye sliding open to look at him again. Despite the hue of his hair, the man did not appear old, or to really have been aged physically. His hat seemed too big for his head, but it accented the rest of his clothing.. The Shinobi gave his respectful stature, before he looked away, as if to be looking for the others. Though, with a man whom hid his emotions so well, it was hard to tell. His eye scanned the area, and his head turned slightly more to look farther back toward the doors of the barracks, before he closed his eye, as he turned his head to look back at Harkel blankly.

When you die, you are complete When you live you must compete Can the light outway the dark Can you go and leave your mark... Kiyoshi Jino Your Prayers are heard --------------------------- An annoying sound of alarms reached Kiyoshi's ears. Along with that was a great discomfort. It took a moment for Kiyoshi to truly realize what it was. He opened his eyes to see himself lying on the empty floor of his room. He must have fallen asleep after he collapsed on the ground. He stood up slowly, and looked at his closthes. They were still dirty from the wastes, and the right shoulder was still ripped from the fight over Akumi. He took a few steps over to the mirror to see how he looked. His hair was messy, as though he hadn't done anything to take care of it for a while. Also, the imperfections in his clothing seemed much more obvious in his reflection. Kiyoshi sighed, and let out a yawn. When his eyes reopened after the yawn, the biggest change in appearance appeared. He noticed huge dark circles under his eyes. He had slept, yes? It must have been quite a horrible night for him, becuase he looked as though he hadn't slept at all for days. Was the death of his sister affecting him that much? It was truly hard to tell. Hre thought about his relation with his sister lately. He had killed her, then so many years later, saw her alive. He ended up watching her die, and then kept her body, as a remider of his sin. In the end, the body disappeared. What a good two days it had been. Kiyoshi sighed. There was nothing for him to do to get ready. He wiped some dirt from his face, fixed up his bed so that it looked reasonable, and decided to depart from his room, locking the door behind him.
Another pointless walk down the spiral stairs, and another little stroll outside the tower. He closed the tower doors behind him, and walked over to where the masked man was. Kiyoshi was so tired, it was surprising that he could stand. It would have been easier if he knew that his sister wasn't dead, not that that was entirely believable. If Neysa had known who the woman was, or the masked man was aware of who had apporached them, maybe things would have been different. Kiyoshi, however, had no idea that the half of the mask he had placed on his sister's face had allowed her to be resurected. Such a thought was beyond Kiyoshi's current level of imagination. Standing beside the masked man, Kiyoshi sighed. "I think I missed what our mission is. I'd ask you, but I know you don't talk. I'm not even sure I know what to call you. It would be nice to have something to think of you as other than..." Kiyoshi didn't finish. It wasn't wise to end that sentance. His thoughts drifted towards something along the lines of "Man who killed my sister on a whim", and therefore said nothing. ... If one day you reach you reach your goal Will you find that you are whole Go out now, complete your task An angel will do what you ask

Harkel Aristocratic Scholar Harkel noticed the bat-man enter the city. He then beckoned him over. "HEY! Get over here! You look resourceful and not about to kill us. Line up with the others." He opened his pocket watch again and took another look... It had been 8:00 for the past 3 hours. Maybe the watch just stopped completely... Who's to say. However, he was completely absurd as was everything about this man. He has "incompetent" written all over him, and yet he's the most respected scholar of the matters that were about to be investigated...
This was going to be a bumpy ride.

"Huh?" said Izual, rather alarmed. He took a look up at the one who spoke to him, and ordered him to line up with the others. What others..who is that..? Have I done something wrong? were the thoughts that started to dart through Izual's mind, as he found himself growing more and more nervous. Was he not even supposed to be here? He hadn't committed any crime so far as he knew, at least, so it should be okay if he didn't obey, right? And, that's precisely what he did. Izual did no obey the man's order, instead he turned on his heel, and took off running as fast as he could.

Harkel Aristocratic Scholar Harkel then began growing impatient with the bat-man. "STOP RIGHT THERE!" He slammed his staff into the ground... The ground began to ripple and undulated as a wave toward Izual, hopefully tripping him up and allowing the old man to hobble in his general direction. "Hell, I don't even think you had an okay from the Guards to get in here! I didn't hear them make a big fuss about a newcomer and I'm pretty damn sure I ain't never seen a bat-man around here before!" He hobbled as fast as he could, continuing to shout. "Least you could do is lend a hand if you're going to come into the city illegally!"
It almost seemed like the old man knew what he was talking about... He did live here after all, and knew a thing or two about who comes in and who goes out... And coming in uninvited was something that was highly frowned upon. Hoping to catch up with the bat-man, he continued to hobble in his direction, ready to cause the earth to ripple again if need be... Thankfully, creating such an earthquake didn't affect the buildings of Tenepolis, as the flexible material seemed to absorb the energy rather then be knocked down by it.

Iz𝖛𝖆l ℙℜℴsℙℇℜℴ Izual heard the man's demand, and though it did sound forceful, and like the voice of one not to be reckoned with, Izual was much too nervous to simply stop running. Izual was shy, and elusive by nature, and this man sounded angry. He'd do all in his power to avoid having to have a confrontation with him. He started to speed up his run, managing to give himself a small, hardly noticeable burst of speed.
It was hardly effective against the powerful ripple of a wave, the man cast through the ground with his staff. And right at him, too! Izual let out a gasp of surprise, as the ground beneath his feet seemed to be hit with the wave, and he fell flat on his face. With a slight groan, he lifted his head pathetically from the floor, and looked up.
"I'm sorry!! I really am! I didn't know I wasn't allowed in!" Izual's words sspilled from his lips in a rush, as he stared with wide crimson eyes at the one who hobbled toward him. He hadn't tried to get up from the ground yet, and so it was made quite easy now for Harkel to catch up with him. "Lend a hand...? For what?" inquired Izual, genuinely confused by what was said.

Harkel Aristocratic Scholar Harkel turned his nose up and led the bat-man to the front of the military quarter complex Tower, leaning on his staff as he began walking back. "Stick around for a little bit and you'll find out. One thing you should know about Tenepolis, boy, is that if you're going to be here, you'd better be damn ready to contribute." The old man spun the staff in his hand. "If you don't provide something useful through which the city at large can survive, then there's no sense in keeping you alive. See what I'm getting at?" The old man just kept rambling on about it... Basically, the gist of it was this: Around here, you either help or starve.
They stood in front of the tower, footsteps beginning to sound from the top of the doorway. "Finally, that's the third one..." He turned to the Shinobi and the man in white. "Apologies, gentlemen. Just getting us some more manpower... I'm hoping the other two will be along at any moment." Sefas Minos Alchemist Sefas began to walk down the stairs, yawning and stretching lightly as he trot down to the ground level. The vials on the belts strapped to his chest began jingling with each step he took. He looked down and saw the old man with the giant, red hat, raising his brow and smirking with contempt. "Morning, Shinobi, Kiyoshi, Lord Pompous-As-" Almost finishing dubbing the man with the red hat "Lord Pompous-a**," he was met with the staff smacking him in the face. "OW! The hell was that for?!"
"You should respect your social betters, you tardy, lower-class maggot!"
Sefas growled lightly under his breath. "You know, for my luck, I'm guessing we have to work with this guy..." He turned over to Shinobi. "Well... I guess he'll be a good distraction if that shapeshifter comes after us aga-" Interrupted, once more, by a staff to the face, Sefas decided that now would be a prudent time to shut up.

So when I'm crying alone Yeah, when I'm cold as a dying stone
 Neysa
Neysa had a horrible time sleeping though out the night. Every time she closed her eyes the scenes of what had happened down in the tunnel replayed over and over in her head. Hours flew by and she ended up with only a few hours of sleep. Once morning hit she slowly got out of bed and walked over to her things, stumbling a bit one the way. Her balance was slightly off due to the lack of sleep. She quickly slipped on her clothing only to pause and stare at herself in the mirror.
Neysa first noticed the dark rings around her eyes and let out a soft sigh. "Great.." she mumbled. She then scanned over her reflection, tracing the dark lines that from from her back and run along her skin much like a tattoo. They create ancient symbols and lines. She frowned at them and walked away from the mirror to slip on her clothing. She quickly splashed water over her face before slipping on her cloak and grabbing her staff. She quickly locked her room and ran down the stairs to meet with the others.
As soon as the group was in sight she slowed down into a walk as she approached them. Her eyes widened just in time to see the man with the feathered hat hit Sefas in the face. She cringed rubbed the back of her head. "Oh dear...I hope thats not our punishment for being late" she gave a slight bow. "I apologize for my tardiness." She said with a small frown.
Her eyes then fell on the new comer with the strange ears. Her eyes lit up with curiosity. She had never seen thing like that before. She walked toward the man and slowly reached up. Her finger tips lightly brushed the man's odd ears and she quickly pulled her hand bad. "Oh my they are real. How neat" she said with a smile.
Grow me a garden of roses Paint me the colors of sky and rain Teach me to speak with their voices Show me the way and I'll try again

] "Shinobi" XXX XXX XXX XXX静かな戦士"the Silent Warrior" Narinthe's eyes wandered about blankly, finally falling on a familiar face. Kiyoshi, the angelic man, with his snow white hair. His eyes and body carried the appearance of fatigue, as he walked to them, stopping beside him. He looked slightly down at Sefas, and was brought to a smirk at the remark of not asking him. He shrugged his armored shoulders to him lightly, at the mention of what to call him. He listened for whatever he was going to say, but he stopped mid-stenences, as if he'd nothing nice to say at all. He understood the man's pent-up dislike for him, the murderer of his sister. Shinobi was just fine, and it seemed that most of the group had already become acclimated to it, and in time, he probably would catch into it too. There was no need to worry about answering it. Harkel did not seem interested in Kiyoshi, or even Narinthe himself. He looked over in the distance, calling out to someone else. His head turned to look at whom it was, his eyes meeting a foreign face. The man's eyes were as red as his own, his hair as if a raven's wing. But his head was accented with large, animal-esque ears of which he'd never seen the likes of before. From a mere guess, it reminded him almost.. of a bat.. The man reacted rather confused, perhaps even frantically. It seemed the man wasn't even involved in the mission.. Yet the Scholar felt it necessary to drag him into a dangerous mission? He held back an irritated shake of his head, his face remaining stone-cold. He yelled with aggravation, slamming his staff into the earth below them. As the wood met the ground, the earth underfoot began to tremble, his red eye venomously looked down, perhaps laced with slight surprise. The man hobbled towards the stranger, ranting and raving, trying to pressure the man into joining their group, without informing him of the true mission. The Shinobi felt irritation rising within himself, but he pushed it back down almost instantly, his arms folding across his metal-lined chest. Sefas arrived, and Shin felt himself breath outwardly silently. However, as he greeted each, the title in which he'd given Harkel caused a slight light to manifest within his eyes, normally devoid of emotion. He quickly put his fist to his masked mouth again, stifling a laugh. However, before he could finish, the staff of Harkel smashed into Sefas' face, and as Sefas asked what it was for, Harkel responded with an arrogant exclamation, causing for the Shinobi to almost react visibly with his growing dislike. Sefas turned to him, saying yet another quick joke, but the staff was brought to hit him again. exhaling again, the Shinobi pulled Sefas a bit away from Harkel, closer to himself as if to tell him it wasn't so wise to be doing this so close to him.. He watched the poor strange get dragged to the group by Harkel, as he ranted and raved again. He finally turned to them,as they'd politely been waiting, and spoke as if it wasn't anything to be doing so. His head swiveled, looking for Neysa. He was going to have to watch out for her, near this guy. Neysa seemed to have a tendency of doing what she felt like at that very moment.. Perhaps she'd go and piss him off too? She was seen by him, and he raised his gloved hand in an unenthusiastic wave.. She got nearer, apologizing, but it seemed insincere, as the moment she'd said it, she grasped for Izual's ears. He held back a sort of faceplant, merely watching her.

Iz𝖛𝖆l ℙℜℴsℙℇℜℴ Izual was still looking quite the nervous wreck, and easily detectable as out of place. He didn't know the ways, and rules of this land, and he certainly didn't know what it was he might owe to this place he didn't even reside in. He glanced about himself nervously, for the first time focusing his attention on the other individuals that stood around him.
His eyes fell on a strange, almost mysterious sort of man, one with most his face wrapped up. For what reason he'd cover his face in such a manner, Izual knew not. This man also had blazing red eyes, and oddest of all:horns! Izual had never seen someone with horns before! He stared for a few long moment at the strange sight, before tearing his crimson eyes away. His eyes now turned to a blond female, one that had gotten a little close for comfort.
Izual instinctively moved back away from her a bit, taking only a small step backward on his heel. He had not gained any distance from her, but he had shown his slight surprise at her close proximity. "W-Who are you? What-" his words were cut straight off when he felt her hands touching his ears. She pulled her hand back rather quickly, but not before he was blushing a deep pink hue in his cheeks.
He lifted one arm to his ears, he himself touching them now, as if confused. The traveling shawl he wore draped about his shoulders, that normally hid his arm, lifted up on one side a bit. It revealed his normal human rm, with a bat wing running down its whole length, attached. He quickly put his arm back down, and tilted his head curiously. "Who are all of you?" he asked, his voice gentle.
I never, never wanted this. I always wanted to believe. Never Never wanted this. From the start I'd been deceived.

Sefas Minos Alchemist He was then pulled over by the Shinobi away from the Old Man... Apparently, the red-haired masked man was also aware that pissing off Harkel was a really bad idea. Sefas then nodded at Izual. "Sefas Minos, the eminent Alchemist... And apparent punching bag." He shot a glare over at Harkel. After seeing Neysa come over, Sefas smiled and waved gently. "Heya, Neysa." He seemed genuinely pleased to see her right now... Of course, his pleasure would be quickly interrupted by Harkel. Harkel Aristocratic Scholar "If this is everyone, I might as well tell you what my business here is. I am Duke Master Professor Lord Harkel. I'm the authority on an ancient legend in this region of the world, namely the Lost Knowledge of King Nomolos. Lady Salnesh has asked me to guide you through a few assignments to find the lost secrets. She also told me to note that if you felt that going on this mission is folly or otherwise far more dangerous than you can handle, feel free to back out. Personally, refusing is a definite sign of stupidity and shirking off the chance for fame and glory. However, Lady Salnesh presents you with the choice." He leaned on his staff and awaited the response of the group.
Sefas shrugged lightly. "Well, might as well count me in."

When you die, you are complete When you live you must compete Can the light outway the dark Can you go and leave your mark... Kiyoshi Jino Your Prayers are heard --------------------------- The masked man seemed so understanding. It was odd. Kiyoshi sighed. Kiyoshi waited for the others to arrive, while watching the odd man with the red hat deal with a newcomer. He aprehended the man with odd ears, it seemed, and recruited him. Kiyoshi thought that was somewhat rude. Pulling someone off the street and make them do something seemed quite horrible in Kiyoshi's opinin. Of course, Kiyoshi seemed to be getting more and more sensitive to everything.
Sefas was the nest to arrive. Kiyoshi gave a weak smile when he was greeted by the alchemist. Kiyoshi felt quiet, and chose not to speak. Though, when Sefas pulled out a nickname for the odd man, Kiyoshi could feel a genuine smile try and make it's way across his face. Lord Pompous-a**? It seemed somewhat fitting. What wasn't so funny was the way the man smacked Sefas for speaking even the slightest bit out of line. Respecting Elders? Wouldn't that actually land Kiyoshi at a point of high respect, seeing as it had been a while since he was born. Of course, he spent most of that time dead, so Kiyoshi shrugged the thought off.
Neysa was the next to arrive, and seemed instantly taken by the man with the bat ears, The bat ear man didn't seem quite as amazed by the group though. Kiyoshi thought he seemed more or less scared, or nervous. Kiyoshi would have felt that way too.
It seemed introductions were in order. "Well, my name is Kiyoshi Jino, the..." He paused. "Uh... I have no formal title. I don't even have an occupation to use as a title. In other words, Kiyoshi works just fine." He gave another weak smile. he also listened as Harkel spoke. It was another job thought up by the captain lady. Why was she so special. Kiyoshi disliked her very much. She was the real reason his sister was dead. Kiyoshi sighed. "I'd like to decline, but it's probably best I accept." Kiyoshi looked around. He looked so tired, and dirty. The bloodstain was still on the ripped part of his shirt, and his shirt was still covered in the dirt from the wastes. ... "Shinobi" XXX XXX XXX XXX静かな戦士"the Silent Warrior" Narinthe looked Izual as he peered at him. The Bat's crimson eyes seemed to stare at his features, with what felt to be curiosity. The Shinobi returned the stare with a blank, somewhat hostile glare as soon as those other red eyes had lifted upward, to stare at his horns. His single red eye glowed like hellfire, lighting his skin slightly in the darkness of Tenepolis. Most of whom that stared at those, were doing so out of fear, or hatred. Judgement. He watched the man blush deeply after Neysa's touch. Well, at least it wasn't a hostile reaction As he exposed a part of his arm, even Narinthe felt his eye look at the leathery extension of his arm's length. The man, however, hid it quickly, listening to the man ask his question softly. Sefas, beside him, was the first to speak, and as Sefas sent his glare to Harkel, the man let his eye fall to see Harkel's reaction to the remark, but it fell short. The man spoke in a calm, yet ever still pompous voice over the mission.. Finally. He listened to the debriefing, and felt himself hold back an eyetwitch, his face still as cold and still as a stone carving. The man was the scholar, and the entire way, he was going with. This was going to be a lot of fun. As he waited for the rest to accept or decline, he heard Sefas accept it. He looked down at him swiftly, as if to hold slight surpirse over it. He'd felt as if Sefas would never want to go out there again, after last night's event. Kiyoshi's voice panged against his ears, and he looked up and over to him. He smiled weakly at the introduction, though his eyes did not reflect upon that. As he spoke of his feelings toward the job, the smile dissipated. Probably best..? Why was that? He let his eye meet Kiyoshi's for a moment, curiously, before letting it fade. His body turned to face Harkel directly. There would be no.. verbal introduction, he was sure, that much like Kiyoshi would, Harkel would soon discover his nickname and refer to him with the same title. He bowed low, after he brought his arms to his chest, his elbows bent and facing away from him. His arms perfectly straight, one gloved hand made a a fist, the other hand cupped over it, and he closed his eye, bowing quite deeply, his hair silkenly hanging over his face for a moment, as he waited to stand upright. Once he did, he peered at Neysa.
