AsmodaKingdom: None Rank: Fallen knight of Patience Location:Main Hall

((OOC: Anything in italics is a memory/flashback.))
Asmoda listened as Somni talked. The woman was wise, well versed in the ways of dreams. There were so many connections between real life and the realm of dreams. Asmoda stared at the corpse of Caleb, resting against a pillar. Was it truly just an illusion. It looked so real, like the body that she had discovered, but was that not the point of an illusion, to create a lifelike image of something. Perhaps Somni was right, the illusion was create by whoever was trying to take her body, trying to use it as leverage. She would ignore the body. "It is just that I don't understand why she bothers me with his body, it does not bother me at all to see him dead. I have served in a war for over two hundred years, this is nothing compared to some things that I have seen. I did not even like the man." She sighed shaking her head.
Though the woman on Caleb's body seemed to be correct, Asmoda was more skeptical on the room. Insecure about herself, Asmoda had never been insecure about anything in her life. She was a strong person, the room was lock for another reason. But even as she protested her own strength she could not help but hear a little nagging voice in the back of her mind, telling her she was wrong. She ignored the voice she was not the type who was insecure, she did not care what people thought about her, one of the reasons she was fine being snippy to everyone.
Ah but you are insecure. Why is it that you hate men, because they are useless, or are you afraid of being hurt again. Scared they will leave you like Eric did.
That b***h, how did she know. Asmoda's eyes widened slightly with worry. Her tryst with the king had been a secret, more than that it had been hundreds of years ago. The only person that she had told her secret to was Nikolai, and they were alone when it happened. But what worried her more was the fact that the voice was right. Though she had never admitted it to herself, she know had to acknowledge that what the voice was saying was true. "You say it is could be a demon, is there anyway that you will be able to find out. I find her suspicious, she knows things about me that she should not, that no body should.
Of course I know things about you. I have watched you for the past two hundred years, so many things have happened. So many fond memories. Speaking of which.
Caleb tried to back up, get away from the woman who looked like she was going to kill him. But he was stopped by the chain that Veritas had formed between the pair. "Oh good my prey cant leave me. Smiling the woman leaped forward, her claws slicing open her arm. Caleb yelled out in pain trying to move, but something held him in place. The woman stepped closer, raising his arm to her lips. "It has been far too long." Taking a deep breath she lowered her face to the bleeding wound, drinking a bit of his blood. Chuckling she backed up looking Caleb in the eye.
"You taste sweet, it is rather enjoyable. Such a long time has passed since the beast brought be fresh blood, there have been so few battle recently. I do not miss the power though, it is ever greater now that I have control of the body." A ripple coursed through the woman's body, her skin bathed in a pale light. She hunched over for a second, her back bulging at her shoulder blades. A tearing sound could be heard as her scars ripped open, two black wings spilling forth. Unlike the wings Asmoda had as an angel, which radiated life, these sucked in the light around it. Decaying the air like they themselves were decayed. The woman stood up, wings outstretched. "Shall we dance."
Asmoda returned to the present with a gasp. How could that be, it made no sense. But there was so much blood, she woke up to her pain in her back, there were to many things that were coincidences for them to not be true, but none of it made sense. "She keeps making me see things Somni. Things that I do not understand. It is like I am an outsider, watching my body kill Caleb, I don’t understand." She shook her head. She had been stripped of her wings, none of this should have been possible. She was reminded of the stripping everyday by the large scars on her back.
The Scars!
"Somni please, I need you to look at my back, tell me what you see." Asmoda turned around, lifting her cloth shirt of her back. Where her scars used to be were fresh wounds. No scab, no blood, just missing flesh, giving the priestess a view of the muscles, knotted where they filled in the holes where wings used to sit. With the exception of the blood, her wounds were identical to those she had the day after she was stripped of her wings and cast out of patience. Asmoda held her breath, please let everything be the same, please let her visions be just that, visions.

~*Jade Aldrich*~ Kingdom: Humility Rank: Peasant Location: Main/Entrance Hall; speaking with Julian At first, the Lycan was a little unsure of what to think of Julian’s touch. She was not quite so used to physical contact with strangers and usually wasn’t one for it, typically tending to shy away from such things. She looked at his hand when he touched her, almost as though not completely trusting of it. This showed in Jade’s eyes only slightly, but soon vanished as she became a little more relaxed once again. She returned his smile and listened to his words, though her own smile suddenly lacked that confidence it had possessed before only slightly, though only slightly. She was trying to maintain it, however. “I do hope so. I consider everyone in that village to be family, whether this be by blood or not. I suppose you’re right about what I’m doing being great, though I’ll admit that I merely see it as something I have to do for them. I know that any of them would do the same for me, were I the one taken ill.”She nodded silently as he offered her a seat and followed him to the couches with a quiet and polite, “Thank you, Sir.” She lowered herself onto the couch slowly and carefully, a trademark of someone who has just travelled far for quite some time, probably. When Julian said her name, Jade looked at him attentively and listened to his question. She paused once more when he asked it, however, as this seems to be a habit of hers when considering what to say as though she did not want to say the wrong thing or say too much. She opened her mouth to speak, then considered her words for another moment before finally proceeding to answer the man’s question, figuring she could trust him with such knowledge. She smiled at Julian in a slightly mysterious way before speaking. “I do look to be human, don’t I? My apologies; I keep forgetting that not everyone picks up on such things quite as much as my race. No offense meant of course, good Sir.” Jade’s gaze became a little downcast as she said this, as though she thought she’d said something that would offend the man. Still, she continued. “I do hope this does not make you uncomfortable to know or cause any issue for you, but I am not a human, though human I may look… For well over a century now, my home has been a safe place for my race to live in peace and be free from any scrutiny that may have befallen us thus far.” She paused, and then finally told him what it is that she knew he wanted to know. “I am a Lycan, Sir.”Jade looked back up at Julian, observing him a bit. “If I may be so bold as to ask, Sir Julian… You, to me at least, appear to be more than you seem as well. May I inquire as to why this is that I sense this about you? Forgive me if I have the wrong idea. I may very well be expecting more than I think. Please, I mean no offense in any of this. I am simply curious is all.”

Location: Dinning HallxxxxxKingdom: HubrisxxxxxRank: Countess
xxxxxxxI guess I should be ashamed... As the assassin was slayed, the woman sighed softly, closing her eyes and putting a hand on her heart. The bored expression once again took its place on her features as she watched in awe at the reactions of the other royals. Though her heart still fluttered with a bit of panic, she was surprised that everyone seemed to accept the event as…commonplace. As the body disappeared, she wondered at the magic that the people of this room controlled. Not really having been exposed to much in the way of variety, Autumn wasn’t used to the strange happenings occurring around her. She relaxed a bit more as the tension in Trey’s body lessened. But the Queen’s words brought her gaze back around. What an awful contourance the woman held. She seemed like she wanted to place the guilt on that woman and was just looking for an excuse. She turned back to Trey as he spoke again, nodding at his words.
Yes, I can practically see the tension in the air. His smile was reflected in her lips as she sunk back into an easy mood with him. Her eyes turned to Ileana as she spoke, cringing inwardly just a little as she tried to resume the conversation. But then the cat man from before walked up along with a couple women that she had seen in the hallway. It seemed as if the other Hubris royals knew at least the one girl so Autumn decided to remain silent as they spoke to each other. At Trey’s words, she gave another apologetic glance. But then she turned from him, something catching her ears to the side. From out of nowhere, another assassin bounded towards the group she sat with. Her eyes went wide again, as they had with the other assassin. There couldn’t be another, surely there couldn’t, right? This one had to be an illusion. She glanced quickly at Trey, eyes still wide with fear. But he didn’t react to what she knew was in his line of sight. As she looked back to the assassin, years of practice forced her body to relax, a fake smile plastered to her lips as she ignored the knife thrown at her throat…and disappear as it hit. Though years of practice couldn’t keep her from flinching. Her eyes were glued to Trey’s as her breath quickened a bit. Looking down, she hadn’t even noticed that her food had arrived and she picked at it silently, her appetite gone for the moment.
But I forget to be vain Well I did the best I could I guess xxxxxx xxxxxxBut everything just bleeds xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx✿OOC✿: Just so everyone notes, the second assassin can only be seen/heard by Autumn because it is a hallucination, something she suffers from.

Ladies and Gentlemen.... Claus Revelle Royal Jester of Veritas Where am I?: Dining ~*~ What am I up to?: OH. DEAR. GOD. NO.
....Boys and Girls There was a time where Claus was just a simple human, with not so simple tastes in theatrical arts and sophistication. He had no idea that he would eventually wind up down this road. He would have never imagined to attract such a large audience before, an audience full of royals and nobles. Standing here now, it was truly a joyous moment for him, thanks to Veritas allowing him to entertain others in the castle besides himself.
Although, now, he wasn't sure if it was the best time to try and entertain the audience, due to some troubling....troubles.
The pie that the blue jester had thrown through Kirkis (a somewhat disrespectful act, Claus thought) had hit him straight on his face, or rather, his mask. It startled him, earning a slightly feminine "Ahhh!" from the red jester, complete with a quivering hands. His hands went to his face as he felt around for the edges of the mask. He then pulled at it and removed it from his face. However, the face beneath the mask was not visible at all: as usual, he had chosen to remain invisible for the time being.
He poked at the cream on his mask, which evaporated into steam due to his mask's magical qualities. "And he says not to make a mess. HA." he muttered to himself, reminding himself that it was the Blue Jester who had 'reminded' him of a clean castle.
He was not unaware of the chaos that was now beginning to flame out, and Kirkis made his thoughts on the matter very clear. A thumbs up to Kirkis was in order. "Not to worry, my poltergeist partner! I know when to stop when my audience just isn't feeling it, and this is one of those moments! And, as for the one in blue..." he whispered to the butler, tilting his head towards the blue jester. "....Master said nothing to me about hiring another jester. We both know that I am the only Fool he can tolerate! I will investigate this soon...!"
Claus then clapped twice in rapid succession, his clothing seemed to evaporate away on cue. In a matter of seconds, all that was left was his floating smiling mask. "If you need me, I'll be roaming the castle, in search for....whatever!" his last words echoed, before his mask fell to the floor and shattered, leaving....diamonds?
In reality, Claus has merely just phased into the hallway outside of the dining hall. Upside down. "Oh my, better work on my phasing a little more then! I'm getting rusty!" he said to himself, lifting himself up on his hands and flipping upright.
His invisible face was now hidden behind an identical white mask, almost indistinguishable from his previous mask. "Now...to roam about...aimlessly!" he shouted in the hallway, marching like a soldier with his bells making himself look quite silly.

Envy is thin because it bites, but never eats... Envy obscures joy. | Altonair Wood | Prince of Envy *~Location: Outside of Veritas' Study -- Currently: Aiming for a change of scenery ~*
The prince sighed in content at Soren's cool response towards Max. I should have anticipated that Soren would have taken the news well. As a knight, she may have already been acquainted with death before. Maybe not like this, but enough to elicit a fair response. I can't say the same for her friend, though. he thought, a gloved hand running through his hair.
"Max, you may not remember her, but this is Soren, one of the Knights of Envy." he looked down to his reanimated brother. Max waved his hand at her, his smile finding it's way to his face again. "Hi there!" came his hauntingly cheery greeting to her.
Altonair looked back at the doors to Veritas' Study, silently wondering if the ancient God had a penchant for making his life (as well as the rest of the guests) a living hell. Sure, he had allowed a visitation period to ensue for the kingdoms, but that did little to make up for all the trouble caused by his irresponsible ire. The nature of the god also brought up a sudden thought about the visitations: if people were allowed to visit the castle, what would happen if an assassin managed to sneak in? The dangers of it all...
"Soren, if it's not to much to ask, would you mind accompanying my baby brother and I on our way to meet up with my siblings? Truth be told, I'm not entirely sure where they are." he questioned her, hands held behind his back politely. "Of course, I'd understand if you were already occupied with a prior engagement." he requested, Max nodding his head slightly in agreement to his request. He had asked her to accompany him not just because of his trait of getting lost and as a sort of security blanket, but out of courtesy as well. It would also prove to be a fine way to get acquainted with Soren and her friend, Mary. It astounded him about how little he actually knew about the knight. Then again, royals weren't expected to personally familiar with the Knights of Envy.
Altonair, however, was one of the more (if not, the most) sociable of the Envian family and royalty.

Julian Fermier Tacius My loyalty lies with: Justice Location: Entrance hall talking with Jade Mood: Surprised Julian was very curious of Jade as she spoke, noting all of her mannerisms of the girl as she spoke. And every time the woman said she didn't mean to offend, Julian waved her off. "Do not worry about; you are not going to offend me for my blindness." Julian said with a small smile, chuckling a little as he finished his sentence. He also paid attention to the girl's words as she beat around the bush, not exactly saying what she was until the very last moment where she finally confessed. She was a Lycan. This in itself was, to be honest, quite surprising to Julian. He had never met a Lycan before, and through the stories and legends he had heard imagined a large, hairy, snarling beast that would tower about him with sharp claws and gnashing teeth, not the small, pretty and quiet girl that sat before him. "A Lycan? Really?" Julian said, cocking his head a little to the side as he spoke, his surprise easily readable in his voice. "Well than this is a real treat, for you see this is my first time meeting a Lycan. Though you are much different then what I have heard." Julian said gently, trying to convey to Jade that he was perfectly fine with the girl being what she was. But when Jade said that she had noticed something not exactly human about him either, he suddenly got very quiet and began to think hard about what his next step should be. He normally just lied and said that he was human, because it was a very difficult to explain to someone that technically he was dead and shouldn't even be here. There was a time where Julian said nothing at all and sat very still, but eventually he let out a long sigh, deciding that if Jade could trust him enough to tell her of her kind when she could of easily just said she was human, he could trust her enough to tell her what he is. "You are correct in your thinking that I am a little more than what I appear to be, but answering the question of what I am is a little said that actually done." Julian said, looking away for a moment as he spoke before returning his attention back to Jade. Reaching back, he quickly undid the ties to the chest piece of armor he was wearing and laid it on the cushion next to him, lifting the simple shirt he wore under it up to his chest where an image of a black skull appeared to be branded onto his chest. "This a mark that I bear of because of what I am. You see, my 'race' isn't truly a race but rather a transitional form of the human race. I was once a human, just as I was once truly a knight; though technically both of those things have passed." Julian said, putting his shirt back down and once more hiding the black image, beginning to speak once more as the put his breast plate back one. "When I was a human, almost 63 years ago, I began to practice necromancy and became fairly skilled at it. Then one day during a battle, I died." Julian said, hanging on to the last word for a bit longer, as if unsure of how the word felt on his tongue. "Eventually I came back to life, but not as a human. I am a Lich, a type of Undead." Julian said coolly, hoping that Jade wouldn't be too startled by the fact that she was talking to a dead man. ((OOC smile )

Theoran Lynth Kingdom: Avarice Rank: Sellsword Location: The fringes of the forest. "And to never be wasteful," Theoran added to Tantra's list of rules. "Something us humans have a hard time achieving. We over-gather our immediate needs and simply leave the rest to rot." Theoran often thought over the curiosity that humans could take so much and yet leave so much behind. The talk about spiders then brought his thoughts to the red lump on his wrist. Though it had diminished in size and irritation, it was still very much there and the constant itch was still very much annoying. "I would share your thoughts, though I must admit that this bite makes me want to hunt down as many of them as I can," he said with a slight, apologetic shrug. When Tantra sat down and lent against the tree, Theoran's thought turned back to the castle, to all the nobility inside, to the raw instinct telling him that it would be preferable to avoid the dining hall if he did indeed venture back inside. It made him curious, though he learnt a long time ago to trust in his instincts. "Pray tell," he said suddenly. "Why does one, so seemingly neutral in the way of all things human, hold loyalties to a specific kingdom?"

The Guards: Dining Hall to Dungeons He (Tao) would pay. To speak the way he did, to think that he was higher in status, that he had a right to defy the status quo and tell her how to behave was simply wrong. Her fingers shook with her new found ire, no longer directed solely at the auburn haired woman next to her eldest son, but now at this gypsy who thought so highly of himself. “Just who, do you think you are?” The queen asked, as though she were a part of Hubris instead of Fortitude. “What right have you to speak to me, as though you are my equal? If one of us cared to hear your opinion, I assure you that we'd demand it of you, through beatings or otherwise. But until then, peasants are to speak only when spoken to.” She spat the last, her eyes glinting with anger. “I demand that this boy be punished for his acts against the crown!” Her finger pointed at his chest, though her eyes searched for one of Veritas' servants to carry out the order. “To disrespect one of higher standing... to try and humiliate me, as though you have right to... needs a befitting punishment.” Were he in her kingdom, a servant would have quickly cut the man's tongue off and fed it to him to satisfy the queen. “And you.” She turned on her eldest son then. “Quit fondling her, as though she is your new toy. I do not approve of this marriage, and will not have you thinking so highly of your match!
The man in armor held his tongue. She had not the power to do anything here, but his master had wanted them to play nice with the nobles. The last thing that anyone wanted was to be dragged into this war. He felt bad, the man only spoke the truth, he was certain that everyone in the room wanted to yell at the Queen, besides the fact that he was trying to get rid of the annoying jesters, but he had to do with his job. He and his partner grabbed Tao by his shoulders, dragging him out of the room. "Alright you, time to take a trip to the dungeons." As the due took the man out of the room, the trio began to shiver before disappearing from sight, reality warped around them.
When the world shimmered back into focus, the trio were in front of a cell in the castles dungeons. The guards shoved Tao into the room, slamming the door behind him. A click could be heard as the door locked itself. The two men peered through the bars. "Sorry 'bout this mate. I thought you were right to yell at the 'ag, but orders is orders. We need to make them nobles 'appy or the will kill us all." The guard pulled out a gold key. "It is a shame that this is the only key to this room…oops." The key accidently fell from the guards hands into the cell. "'ow are we gonna get it now. I guess there is nottin we can do." With a wink the pair walked out of the dungeons.
In the middle of the hey lay a golden key. But like all things in Veritas's castle it was not as it seemed. Before the man could even move it statered to dance around the cell, fluttering in and out of reach.

Tao spun on his heel as the queen began to rant and rave. "Blah Blah Blah..." He rolled his eyes, not caring for what she said. His eyes locked onto hers as the guards came and latched onto him, "Careful there, I make people pay for touching me less." He simply smirked a the woman, "Truth be told, I haven't a clue how you caught yourself such a hot man. I'm sure I could show him a better time." He winked at the king and then looked over towards the son, who was obviously kin to the winged man. "Fine lookin' son, too." He gave the son a wink, too. "Hope to see you later."
He didn't fight the guards pulling him away, it wasn't the first (nor last) time he would be thrown in jail. He nodded politely towards Lorelei, John, Haven, and the King of Lust, "Sorry for the uproar, seems people just can't keep their hands off me." He smiled and let out a small laugh before he was dragged through the doors.
"Now now boys, we all know there is no need to be so rough." He smiled before moving a little closer to the cuter guard, "Unless of course, you like it rough." Tao was like a cat, in heat that is. He felt the chill go through his spine and his stomach pull backwards. "Nice. Warping. Haven't done that in some time." He smiled as he looked at the dimly lit cell, and was shoved inside it. "Now now, what did I tell you about that?" He turned and smiled, his hands touching the cells. "The name's Tao, and no bar has yet-" His eyes fell upon the golden key that the man held in his hand. "How very clumsy of you." He smiled as the men walked off, "I'll be sure to return the favor." He smiled and turned around to see the key floating about.
"It would be a shame not to keep you, my little jittery friend." He took a step towards the key and it shot away, "I see, magicked eh?" He let out a sigh and watched as it fluttered about. "I can get out of here without you, friend. But I'm sure I could use an extra key. Never enough keys, oh so many key holes." He let out a small giggle as he spoke the last sentence. "Very well." He pointed his hand at the key, but instead of pointing a single finger at the key his entire hand was raised towards it as if to cage it in. "Vereige." As he spoke the words the familiar silver circle appeared in the air, only this time it became a ball around the key. The silver lines began to stretch and morph into symbols and letters unreadable by most.
He took a few strides forwards and snatched the key out of the air. "No more moving around out of you." He pulled out a key ring that hand many multi-colored keys attached to it. Many were skeleton keys, some were keys to chests he had hidden around the world. "Now sit tight with your new family." He walked over to the door and put his hand through and around the bars, "Forouch" This time no circle appeared. The circle allowed his spell to accumulate energy for the spell, and he wanted it weak. He wanted to blast the lock open not break the whole door.
With a soft fssht the hole was made in the key slot and he pushed it open. "Wouldn't want my new friends to get in trouble for accidentally letting me go, might as well make it look like I got out on my own." He looked down the hall towards where the guards had went, "Now, where to go... back upstairs to toy with the royals... or to stay down here and have a little fun with those two?" He let out a smile and decided on the second, and with that he strolled off down the hall.

-- Richard Bellerose -- |562| -- Location - Dining Hall -- -- Kingdom - Hubris -- -- Rank - Prince -- Richard had taken to exploring the castle after exiting the catacombs trying to learn everything he could about the magnificent castle he was in. While he would never admit it openly or even at all even to himself it was grander than his own home. Still his Father's castle would always be the most grand by far. He had not really encountered very many of the residents of the castle outside of the help. They were all quite weird in his opinion really not that he had really expected better from mere servants. If he had expected better from servants then he would have been a fool. Servants by definition were worthless and expendable. At least in his opinion. Barely below peasants really. Anyway he had spent the entire time exploring and had not even sought out any other company even from his own siblings. He still appeared at dinner and everything but outside of that he couldn't recall even seeing them. He could still feel the ache from the torture devices every now and then but it seemed to be fading by the day. Thankfully.
However today he intended to seek out and see how his family was doing. The time alone gave him sufficient time to come to terms with the death of Asuna. He had not heard of her death until arriving. Granted he had never been real close to her since he had always found her rather foolish. Maybe it wasn't so surprising how quickly he had come to terms with her death. Dressed in his finest silk and clothes Richard made his way proudly to the Dining Hall carrying himself as would be expected by a prince. Especially a prince hailing from Hubris. Entering the hall Richard swept his eyes around the room looking for his siblings. Sara was currently sitting with the man he recognized as her betrothed, A man that carried himself very like a king and as such Richard deduced him to be just that, and there were a couple of very good looking women sitting with her that he figured were related to the King and Heir. Then of course there was the redhead standing by their table who was pretty as well.
Ignoring his little sister for the moment however his eyes fell on the table that currently held his brother Trey, his cousin Autumn, and Trey's mother. With a servant (Ella) he vaguely recognized from his time in Hubris and a cat (Baldassare)? Walking up to the table Richard gave those present a small halfhearted standing bow before taking a seat. "Brother it is good to see you are doing well. Autumn you as well I trust James is doing well? And Ileana my brother's lovely mother a pleasure as always." Richard didn't feel it necessary to put any kind of title in front of Ileana's name just like he did with all of his Father's lovers. He even called his mother by her first name never having felt the connection necessary to call her mother. It was just his way and therefore he didn't figure she would take it the wrong way. Though he probably wouldn't apologize if she did. "And these two are who exactly? I vaguely recognize the servant girl but I would know if I ever met a...cat.." Richard would definitely remember meeting a large cat.

How sad it is... Martin Chris Hearthon
Kingdom: Avarice Occupation/Class: Willing Servant0 Location:Corridor
As Martin walked the corridor the feelings inside him churned and bubbled wishing so dearly to rise to the surface and take hold of his actions. It was his pride that stopped him from giving in to these whims. Instead he pulled them apart in his mind and looked them over. For this was possibly his first encounter with these emotions. One a green monster, wanting only what it didn't have. The other was a creature bound in ropes gnawing and thrashing, in a dire attempt to free itself.
Neither of these were truly befitting a willing servant, but he needed to look into them further. What stirred the green monster from its sleep? Had he encountered it taking control in the catacombs. Yes, this feeling was definitely tied to his feelings for Dorian. So the first element was a side effect of possessiveness, even if it was not his possession. If it be a side emotion, leave it to the side.(He told himself)
He then approached the second element, rebelliousness, some called it. Odd how he had never felt it before. Maybe because he didn't feel a need to question any other orders or requests. But the demands of that Tyberius, to not do as the king had sent him for. And his insides knotted at the thought of having to face such a wrath...Though he also felt the cause was worth the effect!(Pissing off Tybs. was worth feeding Dorian's hunger.)
Martin stopped walking and leaned against a wall next to a bust of Veritas. He ran right hand through his hair, wondering how he would ever complete his objective with such a mixture of obstacles. He sighed and closed his eyes, hoping to find an answer in the silence.
that we rarely know what we have, till it is gone.

~Kingdom: Hubris~ ~Title: Heir~ ~Location: Dining Hall~ With his mother currently distracted, he turned to his cousin after watching the royals of Fortitude for a moment. ”It is actually a bit amusing sometimes, to watch them bicker. It isn’t often you get to see behind their well painted masks,” he smiled a bit at the girl before taking a sip from his water glass. He knew that he had lost his own composure a few times but nothing compared to the spectacle that was going on across the table.
He arched a single brow a little higher as Autumn’s expression suddenly shifted – looking rather shaken. ”Are you alright? You look as if you’ve just seen a ghost,” he wouldn’t be completely surprised if she had, considering he had seen a wide variety of oddities since his arrival. He took note of her erratic breathing and wondered for a moment if he had missed something altogether. Glancing around the room however, he didn’t notice anything completely out of the ordinary. At least not anything that would draw forth such a reaction.
His dark hues flitted in the opposite direction as he heard an all too familiar voice - that of his kin. ”Likewise brother, it’s a pleasure to finally see you again. I had heard of your arrival but I wasn’t sure if it was true until now. The castle is quite a labyrinth - easy to see how we didn’t stumble across each other sooner,” he nodded his head as his sibling took a seat. ”When did you arrive?” He asked, glimpsing between him and the rest of the group every so often.
Ileana swiveled around in her seat as Richard greeted her, tilting her head to the side a fraction of an inch. ”Always good to see you Richard, how have you been?” She wore a soft smile, showing no signs of the previous scowl that had threatened to ruin her demeanor. ”The servant girl is Ella…but as for the other two….” her voice drifted off as she glanced back their way, still oblivious of their names.

╔════════════════╗ Ƞaedira Ȉllesande ╚════════════════╝ Kingdom: Humility Rank: 1st Princess Location: Dining Hall - My Sister Is Dead Everything around them felt like it had suddenly had erupted into chaos… There were magicians, sorcerers, dazzling diamonds exploding everywhere—Royals yelling top lung. Naedira had the common decency to keep her eyes down to her plate of strawberries and various fruits… But she couldn’t help but feel sorry for Lorelei. If Naedira were in her shoes… She would have wanted to sink straight away into the floor. The ever kind First Princess of Humility wished that she could reach for the girl, and offer her some kind of comfort… Not just because of her siren’s song… But because the words being said in her presence should not be said to any woman—Regardless the fact that it was her heritage.
How could Fortitude blame her for the sins of her ancestors so easily?
Naedira also felt the urge to apologize for Dorian having to sit through their grace… She knew what it was like, to feel someone else’s religion shoved down her throat. But as a shield maiden of Humility, her religion was very important to her. She did not preach it, did not force it upon other—But she kept strength in spirit. To believe, left her abilities more secure—Blessed by those that which were many.
As her brother dashed off to find the lovely Princess Sara, Naedira smiled…Her brother could be so transparent sometimes… But he would still do his duty to his people, despite his affection for the little Siren Lorelei. And though she had heard Lady Sara could be...Tempestuous…She hoped that the royal of Hubris, could find solace in the fact that she would hardly find a Prince, or a royal house that would treat her with complete dignity. Naedira smiled, and would have replied to the Princess—However, she knew her father would beat her to it. “Well said, Lady Sara—Jesters such as these are brusque… Much too…Forward. They are not to my liking.”, the King of Humility agreed with the beautiful raven haired Princess. He had seen too many wars, too many royal houses burn in flame for not being able to see past the ends of her own noses… But he was not naive enough to believe anything that any of those with royal blood said or did at this venture. “Though it pleases us to hear that your day has been progressing nicely.”
“And I hope that my son isn’t falling into the manners of a beast while around such a lovely young woman. I would hope, that he would have learned better.”, he added with a warm enough half smile. He was testing the waters with this woman that would someday rule his Kingdom aside his only son. She was…Beautiful, and that would produce equally handsome heirs… But that wasn’t the only purpose a Queen served. She seemed… Young. Both in head, and heart. Willfull… Too willfull. But looks could be deceiving… And he rightly with held on making his decision just yet. Naedira smiled with her father, “Hopefully these are the only… Entertainers the Lord Veritas has seen fit to grace us with this morning… I’m unsure if I can handle any more commotion.”
It was a polite way of saying… That the entertainment could have been worse, Could have been deadly, like the catacombs. They should be grateful… They were merely rude fools. Her head tilted, hearing Dorian’s voice…
She was surprised at the heir of Avaraice’s sudden request for her to distract her… From what? Nevertheless, her hand slipped under the table to find the Heir of Avarice, her delicate fingers curling around the other girls—Squeezing softly. Dorian for better or worse, was her best friend...Of course, she would do anything she could to help her as she asked. Hoping to get her attention by drawing her mind elsewhere—It seemed that Nae didn’t have to try hard.
Or at all.
Enter, the lovely, lilting form of the Madelyne Riley, she’d been hearing so little about.
Humility had simply taken the head seat at one end of the dining table—Simply because it had been empty when they’d arrived. But now it seemed that one of their family’s deepest hurts would be on display for the whole hall. And infont of Lady Sara, no less. Naedira felt her hand tighten or Dorian’s reflexively, pain reflecting in her hazel eyes, before something unfeeling slid over it. She portrayed none of her brothers’ anger… Only an unending sea of serenity, graceful calmness. But this was a lie, compared to the sound of her shattering heart as it hit the marble floor.
Every Kingdom had lost someone… And Humility had been no exception.
Her brother gave no time for anyone else to respond… And Naedira, heaven help her—Could not clear the lump in her throat. Not when she remembered the funeral pyre… The -scent- of the pyre… The weeping. The loss…Such, loss. She suddenly wished that her brother were sitting beside her... Ryan was her strength when it came to their sibling. He would know what to say to her, to ease the sharpness of that pain. “Such a claim, is not taken lightly, child.”, the King of Humility spoke up after several moments silence as his weathered, yet handsome face smoothed… His voice was a coolness in heated waters that his children were slowly boiling. He seemed unmoved, a stone man that could do nothing but reach across the table and place a hand atop his elder daughters for a moment… A simple pat, a there there. “If you are, who it is, that you claim to be… You must understand, that we would require some kind of proof.”
“We burned, my late daughter—And buried the remains. She was killed on her way to safety... Too young to fight. There was a traitor in her caravan. This is all public knowledge.”, Alec Riley went on, taking a sip from his glass—Eyes growing hard. Not only was it a joke… But to take the name and face of a royal was against the law, in any kingdom, as far as he was aware—It was treason. He leaned back in the high backed chair—Eyes falling to Ryan, before flickering back to Madelyne. He was silent for several long moments… And Naedira spoke up, finally—Voice soft, demure. On the off chance that she could be her sibling… That this could be her sister, she was not cruel. Although she wanted to be, for once, in her life, she wanted to be. But she was of Humility, and she would act like it.
“You would not be the first imposter. You may dress like my Madelyne… You may have her eyes, her hair. Her countenance… We’ve had our hopes raised so many times, by the rumor that the body that was sent home to us belonged to another… If you are my sister… I know she would forgive me this—Because for line of Humility and its people, in the end, it never is my little sister standing before us, alive and well. Never her. Never.”, Naedira had brought her hazel eyes from the table, to find her gaze sweeping over the young woman that stood… Seemingly so hopeful… It pained the princess to crush that hope.
She wished, that her sister lived, with all of her heart. Silence pervaded… Again, to be broken by the King.
“Were it possible that my family could be nearly whole… I would welcome you immediately. I loved, my daughter, as any father can love his children. But until you are proven…Without a shadow of a doubt, that you are who you claim, or that you are not… I can not address you as my daughter. I will seek the council of the Lord Veritas about this matter. He will know the truth.”, the King finally decided.
His eyes lingered on Madelyne… She looked… Faintly familiar. The right age. The right coloring… His old heart ached, though his cold, severe face gave nothing away. It had been so long… And he was tired of this fools game. How much suffering could one family endure?
"I give you this single opportunity, this one grace. If someone has put you up to this...Remove my child's face, and never bother what belongs to me, and mine, ever again. I do not tolerate falsehoods."
His eyes left Madelyne then, turning towards the window.
Apparently, there was suffering still yet to come.
"If you choose to hold true to your claim--Take your leave of my presence young lady, until you are summoned."

Location: Dinning HallxxxxxKingdom: HubrisxxxxxRank: Countess
xxxxxxxI guess I should be ashamed... Autumn took a silent breath. In. Out. She looked up at Trey again, her composure completely gathered once more. She had to get better at masking her fits, what if next time she was unable to discern the real thing from the false one? She didn’t need another episode like the one a few weeks ago…no, no crying in the middle of the hallway for her again. But she bit her bottom lip for a moment in thought. Since the episode a few weeks ago she had seen nothing until the dog on her way here. And now an assassin right after another one…that meant that she was most likely about to have an few weeks or so of hallucinations. Perfect. Right when she arrived too. Just. Fabulous. She shook her head at his question. ”Perhaps I have seen a ghost.” Though she tried to maintain the teasing air they had before, it was subtly off in the way that perhaps she was still a bit shaken. And didn’t that make sense to still have the trembles? Someone just tried to kill another person, that wasn’t normal. ”Or just jittery from seeing that assassin just now.” At least, it wasn’t normal to her.
She was glad when Richard walked up, perhaps distracting Trey from her silent plight. She smiled at his verbal gesture, giving a nod to his question. He could assume it meant that James and her were both fine. But she remained silent as he went on, almost running his greetings together into a single one. Well, that required only a single answer from someone and she would let Trey and Ileana take care of their greetings. As their attention was drawn to the trio that had walked up, she glanced once more at the Cat man in wonder that it was not an illusion. But Autumn would let the others investigate or allow them to reveal themselves. She really wasn't the nosy type...or maybe she didn't carry anything past a mild interest. Though that didn't stop at this particular situation but applied to most things she encountered. But I forget to be vain Well I did the best I could I guess xxxxxx xxxxxxBut everything just bleeds xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx✿OOC✿: Sorry short post is short >.<
