Okay so Mercy couldn't help but smile just a little at the black - she shouldn't really but come on..it was just too cute the way it had come out, rolling about in it's egg like that - he seemed to be heading towards the boys and Mercy sighed, it was starting to look like once again she'd be heading off the ands alone.

Ooooo a black and a handfull of trouble too, he grinned a dragonet after his own heart. That one looked like a lot of fun if he did say so himself. And he was heading toward the boys. YAY a fellow boy will get that lovely black.. hopefully although this one looks very strong for an atypical.

A crimson and now a black wit one more egg left asfar as Anya could tell - unless there was another one hidden in the sand somewhere, but really what were the odds of that happening twice in one clutch? Pretty high. Well.that was fine really, she could wait to the next clutch if her's wasn't here - why sh'd seen plenty of people wait through quite a few clutches before finding there and she was fine with waiting a bit longer if she had too.

Wykla had finished filling Kameth's gullet with pieces of meat. She looked at it and realized, no matter how much he wanted to fly right now, there would be no way he could hope to get off the ground that full. A smile crossed her lips. At least she wouldn't have to worry about him trying tonight.

With her dragonet full, she stood beside him and was able to watch the last of the hatching. The crimson safely Impressed and taken off the sands was a good sign. An application of the shovel resulted in a black making his appearance on the sands.

Kameth sat primly beside His, watching his siblings.

Oh shards.... Well so far he'd been wrong about the little Crimson, but he was still willing to lay coin on which candidate might be a match for the impertinent little Black. The one with the disrespectful bray.

Kazvar rubbed his temples with a soft groan, waiting to see where the little dragon went. He was sharding exhausted, and the ups and downs of waiting for the baby dragons to find their partners wasn't helping. No wonder he tried to miss these things.

Andeon grinned, the expression stretching from ear to ear as the Weyrwoman whacked another egg and a little black head burst its way out of the shell. By the time she had tapped the back of the egg and the thing had ended up with it's head buried in the sand, as thought determined to defy the Weyrwoman, he was practically on the ground again in a fit of laughter. He toppled over like a fallen log and beat a fist against the sand as the black backed it's way out.

Who cared what Benden said, Atypicals were impressive and surprising little things.

He watched from the flat of his back as the little black finally started off, headed for the boys. There was one egg left, and with the black on the sands it meant he was down to his last two chances. Andeon set his eyes on the little black and watched, waited, and hoped.

The Crimson would live. She had Impressed, and her rider was taking care of business. Or, it seemed to S'raid, that the Crimson was taking care of business, and the rider was being dutiful. Either way, business was taken care of. That was as it should be. However, as the duo left the Sands, a stray movement caught the Bronzerider's gaze. Among the female Candidates, there was one in particular who looked dangerously inclined to faint. Really? ... Really? This was the sort of nonsense that was being presented to Galvanth's eggs? Tch. Well, perhaps it was simply part of being female. Perhaps the fairer sex were not cut out for conditions like these.

Interesting, to observe the different Candidates, and guess at their motivations. They all wanted dragons, yes. That was obvious enough. But what did they plan to do with themselves once they had the dragons? Dragonets were quite a handful, and from what he had observed, Atypical dragons like that Crimson were even more so. It was a challenge that few were up to taking, he decided.

Do you see? Even the unmoving eggs are hatching now! Galvanth declared, watching the dragonets with a careful eye. Look at the Black! See how eager he was to be free of his shell? S'raid sighed. Galvanth was all puffed up with pride at seeing another one of his children display some enthusiasm. Of course, after the Crimson, it was difficult to keep the Bronze from being prideful. Though the hulking beast registered the Atypical dragonets as being 'strange' and 'unnatural', as a father, he viewed them as 'special'. Of course.

Typical. Absolutely typical. Changing your tune, are you Galvanth? S'raid thought dryly, scanning the Sands for further goings on. He was... rather bored truth be told. He would be only too glad for the Hatching to be over with. Galvanth, he suspected, would be disappointed that it had ended. This was the Bronze's very first clutch, after all, the very first one that he had sired, and he was very inquisitive about the dragonets... particularly when they were newly hatched. It was a rather odd trait, S'raid decided, and somewhat... less than convenient.

Eirlyn shook head and stepped to last egg, the Tundra egg, and knew that for many of these Candidates this egg was their last hope for this Clutch. She cast a look over those assembled and smiled broadly, willing each to have faith and be strong. There would always be more clutches, more dragons, more lives completed. Was the Council not proof enough the Weyrs dedication to the people of Pern? She rather thought it was.

As she waited, the black was quickly making his way over the Sands and she frowned, again muttering a really. Did the Atypicals have something about conserving their strength they didn't like? And sure enough, the chipper fellow began to slow down quickly enough, the sure steps getting wobbly and uncertain. However, much to her chagrin, where he slowed in motion, he got louder in noise, squawking and calling and bugling to drag everyone's attention to him.

Zeren smiled, the little black seemed to want all eyes on him, something that he himself couldn't relate to but all the same, in the newly hatched creature it was amusing. However his amusement was tinged with concern over the fact that he was slowing down, and every wobbly step was a worrying one because he could easily go Between if he got exhausted. His fists once more balled up, praying to all the past dragons that the hatchlings would be safe and grow up.

Shedrawn laughed out loud. Quietly to himself. The little black was DEMANDING attention and he loved the chagrined look on the poor Weyrwoman's face as she went to the next egg. That black would be a great addition to the Weyr he hoped he would be good friends with his future rider.

My brother is very loud, Mine... Do you think his Mine has trouble hearing him? Rayenth asked, craning her head to see around Nayetuel (Na'uel, now, he supposed) to the Sands behind him.

"I don't know, Rayenth... But you need to eat, not watch him. Why don't you wait until he's found His and then you can ask him yourself?" he suggested, gently cupping her nose and turning her back toward the table. She huffed a little sigh, but allowed him to get her focus back on her meal, accepting more meat. She was eating, really she was, but there were interesting things happening, and she wanted to see as much as she could so she could talk about it later! Besides, her clutchmates were, well, her clutchmates, and she wanted to make sure her Black brother would be alright.

I will ask him once he's found His. Which one do you think is His?

"I don't know... We'll have to wait and see."

Faehari clapped as the last Green Impressed, then jostled with the other girls to get a good view of the remaining eggs. Due to their rarity, Faehari had always been interested in Atypical dragons. Ah, and the first was a Crimson! The only female Atypical color, and a potential egg-layer. She was vaguely disappointed when the Crimson impressed to a boy. As prejudiced or ignorant as it may have seemed, Faehari honestly believed that potential clutching dragons should go to girls.

The next Atypical was a Black. Although their hides were pretty, Faehari was wary of the troublemaker personalities they seemed to have. Hopefully whoever ended up with the Black dragonet would be able to handle him.

Come on, come on... Andeon urged in his mind, pushing himself up to a sitting position as the little black slowed. It was inevitable, he knew. Not even that troublesome little dragon could overcome the weakness that came with being an Atypical color in early life. Where he slowed in speed, however, he increased in volume. The little guy was making such a ruckus! Andeon let his eyes stray briefly from the black to the last of the eggs, wondering if perhaps therein might lie his lifemate.

Eirlyn's smile was a small comfort, but a comfort nevertheless. There would be more clutches, more chances, and Andeon still had several turns left in which to stand for them.

What the black slowed down in speed, he certainly made up for in noise. Nobody could have failed to miss him now. Her fingers lightly petted Kameth's eyeridge. She her the little blue, give one soft small croon of pleasure then stop. However, she knew he liked it.

The blacks antics were cute, but he was surely getting tired by now and Mercy willed him to impress and fine his quickly rather then wailing as he was "we're all looking at you! we promise..now go find yours" She muttered.
